"The perfect family getaway.
Everyone was very personable and eager to make our stay as wonderful as possible. I rented 2 Villas for my 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren. It was the perfect getaway for all of us. We enjoyed being right on the beach with easy access to beach chairs. Touring the island on the golf carts was a joy for all of us. The wildlife was incredible; turtles, osprey, pelicans, and dolphins were seen almost daily! We will definately be back!"

"Palm Island never disappoints
Once again, a fantatic girls week at the beach! The recovery from the hurricane was wonderful to see and hte beach itslef was in terrific shape. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
We would make a few suggestions:
Add additinoal guideines to the pool areas regarding children unattended, playing music, and monopolizing shade umbrellas. There were few guests and should have been plenty of space and quiet, but some guests took over the common spaces as their own.

This was a new unit to us. It is great for large families. We always live the staff at the restaurant. The master bedroom bed desperately needs replaced immediately. It feels like you are sleeping in a hole.

This was our first time at Palm Island. We had our entire family and brought our boat for an entire week. It was a wonderful experience!! Had a small issue with the upstairs A/C unit but the maintenance team was there in minutes and solved the problem very quickly with a smile."

Great location and layout. The decor and furnishings could use a refresh.
Our pool keys did not work. The hot tub at our pool was closed for repairs. Check out was at 11 but the restaurant didn't open until after 12. Loved spending time with the girls without distractions."

Plenty of room for the 5 17 year old boys traveling with me, helpful staff (as always), and lots of quiet and relaxation. This unit wasn't very updated - master bed mattress was bent and hard, one half of each outlet didn't work, no wifi to stream movies (but no biggie). Vacuuming could be more thorough - carpets/rugs were not very clean. The loft and loft deck were perfect for the guys and everything in the kitchen worked perfectly. This won't be the last of my 5 trips to Palm Island Resort. Love it there.

The property is beautiful the condo was wonderful everything was great except the check out. We were charged $25 for a key card for the pool which was never received in our packet. We never used the pool other than with a group from the yacht club which they had already access the pool we never even opened our welcome packet. "

"40th Wedding Anniversary on Palm Island
We had stayed at Palm Island Resorts before and was so impressed with the lodging and the location that we returned to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our children and grandchildren. When we arrived at our initial accommodation the front door was black with mold and the master bedroom bed sank in the middle. The overall place did not meet our expectations and we were immediately offered a new location which was beautiful. We were greeted with a gift basket to celebrate our anniversary and the staff were so kind, professional, helpful and passionate during our stay. We had a wonderful time on Palm Island. Renting a gulf cart is a must during your stay on the island. There are so many beautiful places to explore. We were delighted to watch the mother manatee and her baby. We saw dolphins. We played in the gulf, collected sea shells and enjoyed watching the sunsets. It is a fantastic place to get away from the crowds. We renewed our wedding vows on the beach and my wife even surprised with wearing her wedding dress. We love Palm Island Resorts and will return again. "

We took a family vacation in our backyard. We don’t live far but we still felt like we escaped the hustle and bustle of real life. "Looking forward to another trip
We love staying at Palm Island. It’s been a family vacation for years with my family. Driving around on the golf carts and spending time at the beach/pool is always a great time. The villa we stayed in needed a good dusting and vacuuming under the rugs. Additionally, there were some minor repairs that need be made: the master bathroom door gets stuck, some drawers on the dressers get stuck, light bulbs need to be changed, the door to the loft bedroom squeaks and has a large chunk missing on the bedroom side. Minor repairs and adjustments that didn’t affect our stay. We can’t wait to come back. "

"Villa 1422
The property was beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and we had a great time. We rented a 3 bedroom villa that could accommodate at least 10 people. My only issue was partly my fault, I left my dress shoes in the villa. Pam was very helpful because I called numerous times. She said they manager and everyone checked and couldn't find anything. The only thing I can assume but can't prove is the cleaning people took the shoes when they cleaned the villa. I will definitely stay here again and hopefully not forget any items. "

"Good weekend
Had a good time - as for the house didn’t like the layout on the second floor and I feel the open stairs is so dangerous when you have a little one with you I wish the stairs were enclosed but I understand it might take away from the beach feel. The second floor bathroom made a knocking noise in the master bathroom every time the toilet flushed - I wish the balcony out side of the master was more equipped with a seating area. "

Overall my family enjoyed our vacation. We had a few issues that were somewhat a nuisance. First my daughter arrived about 20 min early for the 3pm check-in & was told she had to wait that 20 mins with a baby in tow. Other staff members told her that was unfair for just 20 mins. Second was the lack of paper items i.e. paper towels & toilet paper. I went to the office & had to hear a statement that people steal these items & thats why it wasn't available. We had 7 people plus a baby & I don't think 1/2 roll of paper towels is enough to clean up after ourselves for 4 days. Third issue that was not front office related was lack of TVs in each bedroom. Lastly was the couch didnt open into a bed as stated & one of the beds upstairs was broken. Not an issue but worth mentioning was the decor did not give a beachy feeling. It was large, dark & bulky. One thing I do need to say was the bed in the master bedroom was the absolute best my husband & I ever slept in while on vacation. Better than our bed which is a sleep number!!!

We had a great time at the resort. The only problem we encountered was the pull out couch in our unit was broken and the ferry personal were not very nice. They charged someone in our party $55 and argued with them that they had to pay. The resort took care of it and they were refunded the money. Overall our vacation was fantastic and we will be coming back again."

We had a great time. The unit was nice and the beach was gorgeous. Unfortunately, the door to the master bathroom got stuck and my husband was stuck in there for 20. The master bathroom shower knob wouldn’t work for us and the vent over the toilet was falling down. We’ve been visiting Palm Island for 16 years and have always enjoyed it. It would be nice is we could rent paddleboards and kayaks on the beach or a service that brings it to you. Working umbrellas at the pools would be helpful. Also, since it’s a resort, it would be nice if Palm Island employees would bring down the chairs to the beach in the morning and bring them back in the evening. Thank you."

"A True Island Getaway
We stayed at Palm Island for our son's wedding. The staff were very accommodating and our beach villa was perfect for us. We did rent a golf cart since cars were not allowed. That added some expense but was needed. We visited several beaches on the island and got acquainted with a family of manatees at one of the docks. What an incredible experience for all of us! "

The condo looks better in person than it does in pictures! Plenty of room for our party of 8...each couple had a king bedroom and bath on the main level, and the kids were up in the loft bedroom - which is so much bigger than it looks! So nice they had their own bathroom up there. Screened in lanai was great. Great location right by the pool and ocean. Would highly recommend."

"Wonderful with one small issue..
We love this place and in fact I immediately booked it for next year because we liked it so much. There’s only one small issue that everyone agreed on. The table and chairs (different from the ones in this picture) although beautiful, are hopelessly uncomfortable. Almost to the point where you can’t even sit on them. It has something to do with how the backs of the chairs are angled. I would highly recommend changing that. Otherwise the place is great and we love it!"

We have stayed in this same unit many times and love it. Although a bit dated, it is large and fits our group of 3 couples perfectly. We come each year to relax and cook and simply spend time together with no outside influences. Our phones don’t ring, there is no WiFi so no one is “playing” on their phones and we are really engaged with being friends!"

Very disappointed that the beautiful unit we chose was canceled two weeks before our stay and we were given a unit not very nice. The red tide was horrible!!!! Could not go in the ocean��. The wedding was so pretty, but the fact that the venue did not provide candles for the mosquitos was unreal. I would never go back"

Our extended family has been coming to Palm Island every year since 1992. We took the last seven years off due to the passing of the grandparents. Older building. Bathroom door knob locks you in. Electric for charging golf cart was dead. Cart died leaving us stranded. Water shut off for repairs with no warning. Bedroom had no window. While playing on the beach was confronted as being disruptive to neighbors. Im 68 years old. No other people around. Could go on and on. One or two old bitties 1/4 mile away with binocs who are bored with life spoil it all and management fails to fix problem. "

"Family Celebration
We chose Palm Island for a family reunion after hearing about it from a friend. We were 11 adults and three children 5 , 2 and 1 yrs. old, and rented two 3 bedroom units.One of the units was very well maintained and comfortable with beautiful views of the beach. The second unit , though closer to and with even better views of the beach , left a lot to be desired in terms of upkeep and comfort. The rugs were torn and dirty, the air filters filthy,the dining chairs needed to be redone etc, etc, etc... Despite that we all had a wonderful time. "

"NOT a good First Impression
We were so excited about our vacation to Palm Island. From their logo to the pictures on the internet we thought for sure we chose the right place for some much needed R&R.
The most positive thing about our trip was the weather,beautiful sunsets and starry nights. The Palm Island resort staff either dont like working there or need some R&R themselves.
--When we made our reservations we were told that we could come early and there would be a good chance of our room being ready early, so we got there around 12:45 and it ended up not being ready until after 5pm!. I was told nothing else was available and it wasnt until several frustrating phone calls that they offered us a complimentary meal while we waited longer.
--Our villa was nice but was still DIRTY when we finally got into it (hair balls and left over food pieces on the floors and couch,drinking glasses with lipstick marks on them) I ended up vaccuuming and cleaning ALL of the dishes before we even unpacked.
--At 7:50am the next morning we were awoken to the loud noise of a pressure washer! The pool patio furniture was being cleaned,but they didnt clean the pool sides that were all grimey and gray.
--OVERALL the resort staff is NOT welcoming or friendly--they dont smile or act like they enjoy what they do (except for front desk staff and one very pleasant African American man who welcomes you when you park your car in the lot.)Even as something as simple as waving back when you pass by them in your golf cart.
--We ended up picking up trash on the beach when we noticed it was still there from the day before
Resort staff could definitely use some customer service lessons to make their guests feel like they are welcomed and wanted back."

My family and I have been to Palm Island many times. This was the nicest unit yet. The cabinets are a little dated but we are on vacation so who cares. The unit was clean and the location is so close to the beach. The view from the back porch is incredible. Very roomy place! The throw rugs and curtains could be replaced but still not a big deal. Overall a great weekend ! "

We had a wonderful time. I dealt with Steve...via the phone and he was wonderful to work with.
We called on our way down and asked for an early check-in and were told that they would not know if we could or not and wait until we got there.
When checking in, the girl upfront would not indicate if we could check in early or not...she was leaning towards us not being able to and did not look into it any further. Steve came up, check the computer and said the place was ready...just needed a final inspection. Thank goodness Steve was there.
The bedroom door on the 3rd level got stuck, while I was inside the bedroom, I was not able to pull it open, and I had to wait two hours before someone came home to let me phone was downstairs. If there had been a fire...I may have gone up with in flames with the place. This was not looked like they had the problem before.
We had a wonderful time...you are blessed to have Steve working there...and everyone was very nice. Would go again.

"1422 needs a makeover
Unit 1422 is very out dated and tired. the main tv is a joke. the furniture is unattractive, the bedrooms as well. Great loaction, just needs updating. love the island, just 1422 needs improvement."

"Awesome Ladies Overnight
I took my daughter and a friend for a ladies overnight stay, which of course was not long enough but just enough to make me know that I definitely want to come back. The staff members were professional and friendly, and the gentlemen (Kirby) that drove us to our room and to get our golf cart was vert professional and a true gentlemen. The accommodations were perfect and even though with just a one night stay and I didn't get to see and do very much, I guarantee and I'll be a return visitor. Thank you, Maudel"

"Best Kept Secret Along The West Florida Coast
We have been coming to Palm Island for years. Each time we come there are more of us (grandchildren). We like the way things are, laid back non-commercial, people are friendly and we wish we could come more often. The beaches are clean and everyone seems to respect your efforts to preserve the wildlife on the Island. We almost feel like it's our own secret hideaway and we will definitly be back."

We love PI and this was our 4th visit to the resort. We were very happy with just about everything. However, it was disappointing that there were not enough sheets for the rollaway bed when we went to make it up late a night. When we called the next morning, asking for proper sheets, the person in housekeeping didn't even apologize. Since we were paying $400/night, we expected better. Also, a small suggestion, the unit we were in did not have enough coffee mugs for the amount of persons in our unit."

"We have been coming to Palm Island for 11 years and we love it.We were there during a hurricane (not a good idea) and survive it.The kids thought is was a lot of fun.They still talk about it.The island is a paradise.We wish we could come more often.
