"Nice New Years vacation
Palm Island Resort has a great location with nice accommodations. The resort is very private in part due to ferry requirement. We explored the island via golf cart and enjoyed walks along the beach and lounging poolside. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Only downside renting a lower level unit is that you have a disadvantage of listening to upstairs occupants if the unit is occupied. This is beyond the control of owners or managers. We would recommend another stay. "

"Not great with numerous issues
The internet wifi did not work. After calling to report I could not get in the pool area I was told the gate was working fine but I was given the wrong pool pass which I had to go to the front office to get another one. The hot tub in the pool area was not working. The resort dock was broken and we could not rent kayaks because it could be a "liability". The guide mentions an off island restaurant you could visit via a water shuttle but when calling both it and the resort no one had any idea what I was talking about. The phone was scratchy and hard to hear when I reported the numerous issues I was having. Don't go here without a car as you will be trapped on island stuck with all the subpar amenities."

"Visit to Palm Island Resort
Two things I was disappointed about. The first was that the house numbers were not visible on the doors from the street, nor were there any numbers on the beach side of the homes.
The second was that families were permitted only one entry to the the island per day. Our daughter, who has a temporary home 13 minutes from the island, and an 80 pound dog who needed walking and feeding,
needed to be back more than once each day. Perhaps we had missed it, but we were unaware that it it would cost $55 per trip to take care of him. Since she has been traveling cross country for a year, she did not know anyone to help her with him. She very much wanted to be enjoying all the family activities,and visit with her many relatives there for our niece’s wedding and was unable be there as much as she and we would have liked. "

"Beautiful getaway!!
This was such an incredible experience! The resort felt like we were in a tropical paradise! Our rental was stunning and provided everything and anything we could want or need. Beautifully furnished and decorated, the unit made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this gem! We rebooked for the following year before we left! Can’t wait to stay again!"

"Room 2613 Is the Best!!!!!
This is the third year in a row that we have stayed at Palm Island Resort and the first time we have stayed in unit 2613. This has by far been the best unit of the three that we have seen. The kitchen was updated, the furniture and couches were all new and super comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless when we arrived. The owners of this unit have really worked hard at maintaining and upkeeping their unit up tp date for their guests. We had the pool just feet away from our back balcony, and the back balcony stairs lead you right to the pool. The view of the ocean was perfect and unobstructed. As always, the staff at the resort was the best. When we arrived, they had our room keys and golf cart waiting for us right up front in the parking lot ready to go. This is one of our all time favorite vacation spots and we can't wait to be back next year again. Great Job!!!"

"Palm island resort review
The place smelled musty the entire week we were there despite candles and keeping windows open. We must have been close to sewage because outside the place did not smell very good either. We were promised working internet but after numerous calls to the property management nothing got fixed and a response was never even sent. The staff at the front was friendly and the resort property was nice, but not special. "

"Favorite Place to Get Away!
I've been coming to Palm Island for more than 25 years - first as a child with my family, and now as an adult with my own child. It never disappoints! The beach is natural and beautiful and is never crowded. Most days it felt like we were the only ones there! I love that every unit has a beautiful gulf view and access to a pool (which we also had to ourselves each day). I've been so spoiled by Palm Island that I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Gulf! This unit had a great location - very close to both the pool and beach access, and not too far from the restaurant/store. Our one complaint was the master bed. The mattress was very soft to begin with, but each side was so sunken in that it practically swallowed you. It offered zero support and I can't imagine an older person or someone with a bad back attempting to sleep on it.If it is replaced we'd absolutely stay in this unit again. Can't wait for our next stay at Palm Island!"

"Overall great stay, some issues with unit above
Unit was nice, clean and cozy. Perfect location in front of the pool for our toddler. Had everything we needed (except we couldn't find any scissors). However, the unit is on the first floor (which we prefer for easy access to pool and beach) and the people staying in the unit above us were extremely loud and rude. They yelled, screamed and banged up and down the unit, stomping so hard they shook the light fixtures in our unit until after 11:00 pm every night. They were up at 6:00 am doing the same thing. Even when we asked them to stop, they ignored us. They routinely left their trash outside on the landing overnight, allowing animals to get into it and scatter it all over the shared areas. We love Palm Island and will be back, but be aware that if you stay on a first floor unit you will hear the people above you at all hours of the day and night."

This is one of the nicest units we have stayed in on the island. Really nicely appointed furniture. Love that the floors are wood and not sandy carpet like most units. Really nice pool/ocean view. Stairs on back side of property make post beach/pool clean up a breeze. We are booking again for next year. A+"

"We love Palm Island, didn’t love the view from this condo
We love PI! The weather was perfect! The staff and other guests all super friendly! We adored celebrating our Risen Jesus on the beach for the Easter service! Great job Island fellowship church! We have been vacationing on the island for over 24 years. We have rented many condos, the only thing we would say is we did not love being behind the pool for the view. We missed our direct gulf view. Other than that everything was great and we still loved it anyway!!! "

"Thirty-two Summers at Palm Island
This was out 32nd summer vacation at Palm Island. We started the first summer the resort was open, and our sons were 7 and 10. Now our grandchildren are 4, 6, 8 10 and almost 13. Our children love the island and their children do, too. This year we rented 3 condos--2613 (ours), 2624 (kids and grandkids) and 3121 (my sister and brother-in law). 2613 was the only disappointment. We've stayed in this unit many times and it has been great. This time, the location was still perfect but the overall condition of the unit was not. It was clean but had many problems, primarily related to the inadequacy of the kitchen--no cookie sheets, 3 bowls missing from a stack of 4 nesting bowls, too few plates and pans, no large skillet, no toaster, broken blender; 2 stopped-up drains and many light bulbs that were non-functional. The maintenance crew unstopped the drains and replaced most of the bulbs; housekeeping replaced the blender and brought us a toaster. I bought plates and cookie sheets. The other two units were perfectly supplied with everything necessary for a week's stay--and more. Lavish, even. We'd love to stay in 2613 again because it's our favorite, but it does need some attention. As usual, all the employees were helpful and amazing. We love Palm Island!"

We absolutly love Palm Island! We have been coming here for 20 years now. Perfect place to slow down and recharge. Rooms come complete with everything you could need. "Villa much improved since last summer....
We've stayed in 2613 for many summer vacations, and we've been very happy with it; but last summer our review indicated some problems: master bedroom bed that sank in the center, burners not working on the stove and other things. We're happy to report that the problems we mentioned have been corrected, and the villa is once again a haven. We love the location of this villa, since we use the grill almost every night and we can watch our grandchildren in the pool from our porch. Thanks for a great vacation!"

"3113 First Part of our stay
We requested to have the same unit as last year and unfortunately the property mgt team put us in 3113 which we stayed in two years ago. 3113 is not in good shape with original furniture and old carpet along with an uncomfortable bed in the bedroom closest to the beach. We were able to move over to 2613 which is a much better unit. The only downside to 2613 is no sprayers for your feet and shoes when you come off the beach, which would actually keep way more sand out of their condo. The only other issue is that the food and service at Rum Bay continues to disappoint. With the exception of Dustin, the staff generally do not seem happy and it shows. Also the pizza does not use good sauce and I literally counted six pepperoni slices on an entire half of a pizza we ordered. Finally, I am not sure why they reduced the hours at Coconuts to 7 pm. It closes before the RedBeard show even ends on Fridays. If the restaurant and Coconuts are more of a pain and not money makers then I get it but otherwise it seems like it is time for an overhaul of the menu and staff."

We took another couple as a surprise and a thank you for what they have done for us in the past and what a joy to see them smiling when we pulled up to the ferry, and then down the road with all the beautiful homes, then I told them we had to park the car and get a golf cart for the rest of the stay..very impressive, fun and what a beautiful place it was....will be back someday....check the weather as we got rain both nites but we managed to get to the restaurant between showers....fun"

Although the maintenance man worked tirelessly on more than one visit, the tv cable's reception was fair at best. The dishwasher was not connected to the counter and tipped out dangerously close to my foot. The maintenance man did fix that.

"A great romantic getaway
My husband and I needed a break from the every day routine with children, work and chores. It turned out to be a perfect weekend. The weather wasn't the greatest but the view of the ocean and the solitude of the resort was beyond our expectations. We cruised the island on our golf cart and just enjoyed the time we were able to spend together. We went to Rum Bay for dinner which was ok. The service was great and the overall staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the normal hustle and bustle."

"Staff makes all the difference!
We have made Palm Island an annual destination for many years because, quite frankly, we can't think of a more relaxing place to stay! This year however, we were first shown to a unit that had a bad smell even though it appeared clean. When they sent housekeeping (Jessica and Christie) to check it out, they agreed that we should find another room, and immediatelt set out to find a substitute. The second room was beautiful, and they were so eager to rectify the situation that it turned an "Oh no!" into an "Oh yes!"
The next morning my sister and I were taking the golf cart down to the end of the island when it conked out on us suddenly. Fortunately, we were right in front of the Coconuts store, and when we went in and reported the problem, Maggie worked quickly to switch things around (even thought they were fully booked) to get us a replacement...and we were on our way in no time! Things are bound to happen when you travel, but how they are handled is so crucial to the overall success of a vacation; and the pleasant, positive attitude of the staff at Palm Island reminded us again why we keep going back! Thank you for a wonderful time! :-) "

"We've been coming to Palm Island for 14 years and love it. However, we have noticed the rooms are not as cared for as in previous years. The floors were coming up in the kitchen and appliances were breaking.
The overall appearance of the kitchen needs to be updated. Also the carpeting throughout the unit was old and needs to be replaced. WE love the island and will definitely come back, but hopefully our room will be updated a bit."

We had a nice stay at the resort. There were a few concerns worth noting though:
1.We had a group of 10 people staying above us (2 families) which was very loud with thin floors. Not good!
2.I wish it were possible to get people out to the beautiful beach by golf cart if they can't walk well.
3.Pave the parking lot-my car was trashed after our stay.
4.The beach is what makes this place so wonderful!!
