"Love Palm Island
the unit was quite nice and clean with the exception of the Living room carpet. The carpet should have been cleaned. It had been several Years since staying at P.I again and we did miss not being able to go sooner. We have been coming here for around 15 years sometimes up to 3-4 times in a year "

"Great Location, Pretty House, Need Resort Safety Updates
The house itself was wonderful, clean, spacious, comfortable, and well decorated. Comfortable beds too. Location was perfectly close to the beach, amenities great and they had lots of pots and pans and working A/C and dishwasher and laundry machines. So wonderful!
My only criticism would be that I wish we'd had some contact from the resort to assure us about protocols during adverse weather events. I know they recently went through a hurricane so I assumed something was in place for this. Our first morning there, our phone all sounded the tornado warning alarms during a terrible thunderstorm. But we were basically trapped on the island as it was lightening so badly we couldn't leave the house, and then even if we could have, or tried to get to our cars, was the ferry running? Upon arrival the night before, we had to wait over an hour to board the ferry onto the island. Our ice-cream from the grocery store all melted in the car while we waited in line. I know companies are struggling to find good help and enough of it. I pray they can find more help so better steps can be in place to make guests feel comfortable, taken care of, and safe in these instances. "

"Excellent PI stay!
We were visiting as guests of a wedding party and enjoyed the comforts and amenities of the Villa, golf cart rental, pool, beaches, pickle ball courts as well as the tasty catered pre-wedding welcome event under the tennis shelter and the fun lunches at Rum Bay restaurant and drinks at Coconuts! Thank you all for making it such a delightful, picturesque stay!"

"Scouting Trip

"The perfect getaway for a small family
Our villa was well furnished and clean - a delightful place to stay for a week. We especially enjoyed the large screened porch with it’s own staircase to the pool and beach (along with it’s own hose for feet washing), the large roomy interior with a bay window in the dining area, and the nicely furnished kitchen and master bath. The water views from unit are also amazing. It’s also a great place to social distance with a plenty of room at the beach and the pool. The takeout pizza from the resort was very good."

"Great Experience
Had a great trip as always. We have 2 kids (8& son turned 7 on trip) and PI is the perfect place for a family. The beaches are not crowded and the kids can play in the ocean without too much worry. We were a little disappointed when our room was switched before our check in date, but the new room turned out to be be great. You are never far from the pool, and still had great ocean view. Staff was top notch, and everything was very clean. I can't think of anything that would have made it a better birthday trip for our family. My son's birthday wish was to come back for a week!"

We were totally pleased with our superior 2 bedroom apt. A/C unit needed to be replaced in the actual superior unit we booked but luckily there was availability in another unit and it was just great! A well planned resort: everyone has a view of pool and the gulf. A well run resort: front desk, rentals, complimentary beach chairs, outside maintenance crew, etc.You have to be able to entertain yourself! Loved the peacefulness (until young people arrived on weekend), no shopping, only 1 restaurant, reduces decision making and adds to peacefulness. WIFI was spotty."

"Palm Island Getaway
Condo is very nice and relaxing to stay in. We have stayed twice and enjoy the amenities in the condo. Both times I have stayed the pool has really needed some TLC. I own a pool myself so I know how to care for them, and their pool consistently needed vacuuming. Being so close to the beach, I think more resources should go toward keeping the pool up. The golf carts were in rough shape too.....also needed an upgrade. I still really enjoy Palm Island and plan on returning next year, but those few resort issues could definitely use some attention."

Only concern...which is great for the owners and staff employees is the word appears to be out. Palm Island is the place to vacation. We noticed this started last year but each time we've come this year there were too many people. It seems like the common facilities are being stressed beyond their limits by many visitors who are not respecting the property. Perhaps the security patrol riding on their carts should do more than just...well, ride around on their carts. When renting a cart I read that only licensed drivers can operate the carts. While there we saw many instances of cart loads of people...sometimes too many people in the cart where the drivers could not have been over 12 years of age. Driving right past the "security carts""

"July long weekend stay
I never fills these out but thought it would be a good idea since we had some issues this time around. We have been coming to the resort for over 20 years, and with this trip I reserved an ocean front 2 bedroom superior in the 3700 building. When I received my paperwork, they moved us to a 2 bedroom behind the pool I believe in building 2000 area. No one even had the courtesy to call, or email us of the changes, much less say anything at the front desk when we arrived. As I know sometimes you run into problems with the rooms, but someone should have had the courtesy to communicate with us. We come to this island to relax and enjoy, and I always pick a room wit that intention of looking out into the gulf, not being behind a pool with all the noise. I see on your website you do not distinguish anymore between gulffront and gulf view. I think that is a mistake, because it definitely is not the same, and the prices are equal in value. To add fuel to the fire, we took the package with a golf cart. WE were running a little late, so I called the rental office, and asked if we do not get there by 6 since we already paid for the cart, would they please bring the key up to the front desk so that we could use the cart that evening. They were courteous and obliged but forgot to leave the key at the front desk. When we finally received the cart, it had to be returned because it would not keep a charge. We love coming here, and this will not keep us from coming back, but it also makes me feel that this should have never happened with a little effort on your part. We come to Palm island to have a stress less weekend, not add to the work weeks stress. One last thing to say, I called and argued with the office person about our room, and I feel she should have offered to make it right without me asking for a credit, which she gave me a free night. "

Overall, the stay was exemplary, with one exception. Only one car per villa was allowed into the parking lot, which was problematic for my family since two of the people in my villa were from a different city than me and my husband and we arrived at different times. "

"TALE OF TWO CITIES
Very rocky start. Unit was in complete disarray. It had not been cleaned,beds not made etc. Supervisor sprang into action. Moved us to an upgrade and everything ran smooth after that. "

"Return trip to sunshine
This trip was our third one in three years. Always a much anticipated trip. This time we had our daughter and granddaughter along for part of our stay.
We had requested a beach villa (a condo on the beach) but due to a request from an owner, the condo promised us was not available. We did not receive notification prior to our arrival due to a wrong phone number on our records. However, two weeks prior to our arrival, we did receive a phone call from the concierge asking if there was anything we might need ahead of our stay. I pointed that out during our check-in but was told that is a separate entity from the reservations office. I must admit the unit we were given, was not "on the beach" but directly across from the pool which was quite noisy at times. Also, the unit was very "unfriendly" for visitors. A long list of what not to do as well as the majority of the cabinets locked particularly in the master bath. The kitchen was not well equipped with insufficient number of glasses, plates, etc.
The overall cleanliness was just fine and it was convenient while my daughter and granddaughter were here for use of the pool. The service road behind the unit was quite busy and was rather noisy even through the evening hours.

Leave your stress behind and get on Palm Island Time! Had another wonderful weekend with family on the best island resort ever! If you have not experienced, its a must. Once your car goes on the ferry and you leave mainland, stress melts away as you trade in your vehicle for a golf cart. Excellent staff, beautiful rentals! Thinking of buying now:)"

I find this completely unacceptable all facilities should be ready if check in time is 3:00. I must admit that this was the first time this has happened in 8 years and I expect it will be the last as well"

"PI Trip
This was our fourth trip to PI. We have ALWAYS had a fantastic time, and we have loved each trip. However, on this trip we were promised one villa with a direct ocean view when we booked the trip over the phone. When we arrived, we were placed in a different villa with an ok view over a pool. Rum Bay was still great, especially our Shark Tooth drinks!"

-Wifi operational less than 50% of the time, strong signal but no service (Palm Island Wifi)

"Love Palm Island...not impressed with the villa.
We have visited Palm Island on four separate times in the past year. We always have a wonderful time and the villas have been wonderful until this last stay. This past stay was part of a Groupon package and it was my understanding that it included a deluxe villa. Clearly, we did not have a deluxe villa (we have always had a deluxe in the past). The unit was so outdated, the cabinets in the kitchen wouldn't close properly, the paint color in the bedrooms would blind you, and the furniture was horribly uncomfortable. When checking out I found out it was a standard unit rather than a deluxe. I felt kinda cheated since my Groupon indicated a deluxe villa but apparently you only get a deluxe if available. I will continue to visit Palm Island because it is an amazing place and my family and I love it, but I will make sure the room is a deluxe or superior moving forward because the standard villas are uncomfortable."

"BAD CHECK-IN
THE PROPERTY WAS WONDERFUL BUT I HAD MADE A RESERVATION FOR THE ROMANCE PACKAGE AND THE PERSON VERY KINDLY GOT AN UPGRADE FO A 2 BR WHEN WE ARRIVED THEY HAD US IN A SUPERIOR 1 BR - NOT WHAT WE WERE PROMISED. THERE WAS MUCH CONFUSION TO CHANGE THIS AND IN THE PROCESS ALL THE EXPLANATIONS FOR THE VOUCHERS WAS VERY CONFUSING. THE UNIT WE WERE GIVEN WAS JUST OK - BEHIND THE POOL AND BBQ SO NOT AT ALL PRIVATE. THIS WAS OUR WEDDING NIGHT SO IT WAS DISAPPOINTING. TOO MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED AT THE DESK IN THIS ONE TRANSACTION. THE PLACE WAS PRACTICALLY EMPTY, CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THEY COPE IF IT WAS CROWDED!"

"Rum Bay and Internet
This year was my 8th stay on the Island.
We choose it for the location and surroundings. We do fashionphotoshoots. It is wonderfull.
The restaurant Rum Bay should be updated with more biological/vegetarian and healthy food.
Also would i install wifi all over the resort.
It creates free publicity by all people posting beautiful pictures on Facebook and other social media.
It is at last 2012.
I'll hope to be back soon on the Island.

"A wonderful beach get-away
So we found this little slice of heaven thanks to a Living Social deal and fortuitous timing. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. Palm Island proper was beautiful and secluded yet surprisingly well equipped. The staff of the management company were wonderful and the Condo we stayed at was very well kept up and appointed. My only gripe was the lack of high speed internet. For the price of the resort I would expect them to include wireless internet access at no charge.
Make sure you walk the beach at sunset and bring your camera ... this was a truly magical moment for me and was like the star atop the proverbial Christmas tree."

"Beautiful Island! Great place for a getaway
I have visited Palm Island several times and I love the beauty of the Island! Finding a quiet beach is a rare find in Florida. That gives this location is a major plus. The only problem I experienced on this trip was a very nasty and rude ferry boat worker
who yelled repeatedly at me for not understanding his directions for driving onto the ferry! It was senseless and unprofessional to address a patron that way and it almost ruined my trip. I did file a complaint against him and hope this does'nt happen to anyone
else. Otherwise, everyone at the resort was pleasant and courteous."
