"Wing week 2
Incredible beach and laid back environment. Accommodations are clean, updated and safe.
Rum Bay and Leverrocks provided great food and value.
Pool did not have much shade, no umbrellas and was not salt water?
Will be back

"Great Place
Palm Island is a quaint little resort that is very relaxing and laid back. The beaches are relaxing and the accommodations are clean and wonderful. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely go back. "

"My New Hawaii
FABULOUS! Atmosphere is tranquil, people are friendly, resort is like home only on a beautiful beach with plenty of sunshine. We truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return."

"Great time at Palm Island Resort
We had a super nice and relaxing time at this resort. We arrived by boat and we rented a golf cart to drive through the island. The property is beautiful and the beach is one of the best I’ve been to. The water was gorgeous. This place is breathtaking and I can’t wait to return. The only downfall were the mosquitos. Even with repellent, I still got stung quite a bit. "

We had a great time. The resort is very peaceful even during peak season."

"Vetter Family Reunion at Palm Island Resort
Awesome !! Staff was great , unit was good not great, Island and surroundings were really great, very serene and comfortable !! Would definitely return."

"You get what you pay for.
We had a difficult time connecting to the WiFi. The air in the bedroom wasn’t working properly either. Most of the cabinets were locked and it wasn’t stocked like most of the rooms were. We had a one bedroom deluxe villa and it was like staying at a lower rate motel. The bed was a brick and it was disappointing for a $500 two night stay. If it hadn’t been for the fact it was for my best friends wedding I probably would’ve stayed off island and saved some money and had a better room. Oh and if you don’t rent a golf cart you’re screwed... and $50 a day is a bit extreme considering the only other transport is waiting for the front desk or walking. "

"Palm Island Annual Escape
Nice unit--upgraded living room furniture very comfortable! Have been coming here many years b/c it is so unspoiled and beautiful.
Encountered some construction noise directly outside unit, but management team very accommodating. Lisa and Chris a definite asset to management team. "

"Decent stay
The spot is fun and relaxing. It's like stepping back in time to Resort living as it once was. Golf carts were fun and restaurant great. The rooms are dated though, bed needs replacing and linens refreshed. For the price I had much higher expectations."

"A very relaxed place to stay
It was nice and clean and close to the water. The biggest downfall was the mattress on the bed. You could actually feel the springs. It was very uncomfortable and should be replaced "

"Nice location
Very cozy condo, the chairs in the living room were most convenient because I needed to rock my daughter back to sleep. "

"Charming villa for the perfect getaway stay
From the moment we arrived at the car ferry to the moment we departed the resort, we had an exceptional experience. Everyone was so friendly, so helpful, and the resort itself was quite tranquil. We will definitely be keeping Palm Island Resort in mind for our next vacation. "

"A new begining
Enjoyed Red beards show and Thanksgiving dinner. Been a visitor to island for 25 years what else can I say. "

"Beautiful island condo unit needs just a little help
Major issue is the mattress, it was extremely uncomfortable. The bedroom faces the back road which has bright lights that shine thru the blinds and illuminates the room, black out curtains would be helpful. In contrast the living room light you see in the photo is the only lighting in that room it is too dark to read anything.last but not least is there is no wifi in this unit! This is a basic requirement especially at these prices. The view is ok, lanai is its best feature, there was a fully stocked kitchen and bath."
Nov 01, 2017 - Richard C.

"29th visit.
Our pool and pool area was unkempt!! Weeds growing out of pavers at poolside. Pool was dirty with leaves and sand for the entire stay."

"Palm Island Perfect
Had a great stay. Villa was very nicely decorated and furnished, clean, and conveniently located. We weren't expecting much from the Rum Bay Restaurant but were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent and reasonably priced."
Jun 04, 2017 - Brad B., Saint Petersburg, FL

"Weekend stay
The unit we stayed in is in need of updating , needs a new mattress desperately and a pest control service badly as ants are so bad that you could not enjoy the outside porch and they were coming in the kitchen also."

"Palm Island Resort brings me back to life
This is a place everyone needs to see and experience because it is what we all need!
My 100 days!
Well it's been 117 days since my 3rd heart attack on January 2, 2017. I cannot believe after being shocked back to life and told that my life has changed but not for the better on January 2 but as it turns out I came out on the other side of this in better shape than before January 2 and my cardiologist says he cannot believe it! I have been to three times since given the OK to live again from my cardiologist! Had a great time you all need to check this place out it will give you a unbelievable feeling that this exists just a few hours away from Fort Lauderdale and it takes you away to help you realize what's important in life and to give you new direction and this is what Palm Island Resort has done for me!

"Relaxed Island Resort
The one bedroom condo was updated and very clean, and well furnished. This particular unit (3514) was well located on the resort property, near the Beach Villas pool (which, unfortunately during our stay, had a heating malfunction, and we didn't get to use it.) We were allowed access to another pool, but farther away. WiFi service was almost non-existent. Luckily, our unit was located near the Coconuts Ice Cream Shop so we walked there at least twice a day to use the internet. Overall, enjoyed the place and would go back again."

"Don't forget your mosquito soray
We love it here. The staff always friendly. Housekeeping not the best sand in the bed pots dirty in kitchen and countertops pn the sticky side. They have a serious mosquito problem and should warn guests. We'll be back hopefully less mosquitoes next time."

"Great getaway
This resort was all that I hoped for. The unit itself was clean and nicely furnished. Our view of the ocean was breathtaking. The resort was beautiful. "Great vacation Island
It was a very private and relaxing time. The only change I would hope for would be for the ferry to run a little later in the evening."

"Wonderful Wedding Weekend
Enjoyed the experience. Everyone was accommodating and pleasant. Our visit was relaxing and all that was made possible by the facility and staff. Lunch at Rum Bay was delicious!
Although our experience was not hampered by the following, it certainly would have made the stay easier...additional garbage bags in the unit, some type of cleaning supply, beach/pool towels (or a reminder in your communication to pack our own).
We'll be back!
Oct 13, 2015 - Jane B., Englewood, FL

"After all these years...we won't be back
Loved the location as always.
Had to split up in two units at last minute, accomodations were nice but just average could be updated. Faith and Lisa were friendly and accomodating
Ferry staff was rude and did not have good knowledge or communication with office staff. Marty was very rude in phone contacts. Been coming ten years this was the worst dealing with office staff and ferry that we ever had. A lot of money for what u get beside the views. Our group will not be back next year "

"Perfect Quite Location
We enjoyed our stay. The beach was not crowded and the weather was perfect. Microwave was broken and the office responed immediately. We can't wait to go back again."

"ALMOST perfect, restful getaway!
We got almost everything we were looking for in this vacation getaway -- it is the perfect place to disconnect from the stress of the world and reconnect with each other. We never turned on a TV or looked at social media or online news. Beautiful sunsets, perfect weather, good books, good food and plenty of wine made for an almost perfect vacation. Our only complaint: The bed in our villa was very uncomfortable and squeaky. Every time one of us turned over, which was often because it was so uncomfortable, there was a loud squeak. It was hard to sleep! My hubby was smart enough to bring his own pillow which helped, along with a sleeping pill. But who needs sleeping pills on vacation??? Next time I will bring my own pillow and will try the bed first before unpacking. If the bed is uncomfortable again we will ask to be moved to another room. Yes, we will definitely be back!"

"Palm island is a wonderfull place to injoy Florida
It was great like always."
Feb 09, 2015 - Ken K., Bradenton, Florida

"Our stay at unit 3514
This a wonderful place. About 100 yards from the beach. We walk the beach every day and find unique shells. About 100 feet from the pool heated to about 88 degrees. About 100 yards from a restaurant. About 50 feet from tennis courts (we don't play tennis.)
The pluses: Clean high quality condo. Friendly helpful staff. Many extras included - free ferry, free water taxi, wide open beaches, not many people
The minuses: Ferry, overpriced golf cart rental, distance to exercise room, limited restaurants in town,
Pluses far outweigh the minuses. We are actually here for another week. Two weeks total. We hope to come again."

"2nd Visit not as good as the 1st
My husband and I were there in 2011 and could not wait to return to Palm Island. The island itself is still beautiful and relaxing but the condo we stayed in this time was nowhere near as nice as the 1st time we visited. The furniture was older and very uncomfortable and (besides the bathroom) the place just seemed outdated. We did get stuck inside for a good part of our stay and the island partially flooded but having a comfortable condo with good furniture would have eased the pain of that. There was no place comfortable to even sit and watch TV or read a book in the condo we stayed in. For $950 for a 4 night stay in a one bedroom villa I expected more comfort. The restaurant RUM BAY is horrible. The food was cold both times we tried to have dinner , one time for a sit down dinner in the restaurant and the other time was their BBQ buffet for $20 per person which had horrible food that was cold right off the grill. . Leverock’s has much better food and service by far so it is hard to believe they are “sister companies”. My husband and I are not sure if we want to return at this time or not, which is a shame because we had counted down the days when we could return to the best vacation spot we had found in Florida!!!! I put YES that I would recommend this island to a friend BUT I would warn them about the differences of our stay for sure. "
Aug 27, 2013 - , Seminole, FL

"No Umbrellas at Beach Resort
Really relaxing but the place is very outdated and they do not offer umbrellas to thier guests the food at Levorocks was horrible."
Jun 27, 2013 - Samantha B., Sarasota, FL

Our vacation was phenomenal. The location helps you disconnect like no other. You are just a walk from the beach and in total relaxation mode from the minute you step into the island. The staff was friendly and helpful! The only issue we had was that our back door did not lock. When we called and asked to come fix it they just added some wd40 and it worked for a short amount of time before it broke again. The maintenance staff assured that we were safe on island but coming from a big city we were not comfortable wih that answer. We had two sleepless nights because of this. Without that mishap I would give the island a 10 and its a must go destination."
Jun 24, 2013 - Elizabeth C., Hialeaah, FL

"Paradise found!
We weren't sure what go expect since we found the property online but we had an amazing time and can't wait to go back. We had a blast walking, biking, boating, playing in the ocean and pools, finding cool shells, sand dollars and shark teeth, checking out super awesome sealife, watching dolphins play, etc. We were worried about being "stuck" on an island but didnt leave once the four days we were there- too much to explore! "
May 11, 2013 - Sonya S., Anchorage, AK

"Wonderful and Relaxing 3 day getaway
We took advantage of a 3 day special with use of a golfcart and really had a great time. We fished, used the beautiful pool, found many sharks teeth amd nice shells and just relaxed. We will be doing this again in the future."

"Stuck on an island
It was a unique experience being at the Palm Island Resort. I liked the island feel and the amenities they tried to have. The problem was that they didn't bother to hype the amenities or tell you how to take advantage of them.
We went to ride the water taxi for dinner on saturday night at 6:30 pm only to find the last trip was at 6 pm, though we could not find this posted anywhere. The Leverock restaurant where the water taxi drops off said it takes people back to the resort until later, so why not bring us across?
Then the next morning we are leaving at 7-7:30 am only to find the mgmt office is closed until 8am, again without it being posted. "
Nov 25, 2012 - Larry M., Bolingbrook, IL

"Gorgeous view, okay villa, so-so staff
The island was lovely, and it was a nice get-away. It would have been nice to have been closer to the beach, but we had a nice view of the ocean and were close to a pool. The check-in process was confusing, and we had to ask at the sales office across the street after several stops for directions. I was a little put off by the woman at the front desk. She really wasn't very friendly and kept stressing that we would have to pay for damage to the villa or lost keys. Then there was the a la carte list if charges for damages to the villa. I felt like I was walking on eggshells the whole time instead of being welcomed. The villa was okay, but I was expecting something much nicer after all the fuss about damages. It had all the basics, but could use an upgrade to more modern televisions (it had old CRTs instead of flat-screens). The view of the outside and the outside itself really made the whole vacation. I was also a little leery of the type of clientele they must attract after the whole damages thing, but everyone was nice and quiet. I was worried it would be rowdy, but it was all couples like us and a few families. We will definitely go back to the Gulf coast, but we may try another place next time."

"best vacation ever!!
This island is absolutely beautiful! Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't imagine a better place to have a wedding. Everyone in our group told us how much fun they had and how beautiful the island is!!! We will be back thank you so much!!!"

"Unlike any other place
Palm Island is a peaceful little resort on a private island. Even when the island is at max capacity you can still sit on the beach and not see another person for a mile. The amount of nature is what amazes me. We have had dolphins jump in the wake behind our boat, we have seen 3 different kinds of crab, watched bunnies hop across the road, watch all kind of birds (even an eagle), and watched several gopher turles enjoy their morning breakfast. All of the staff on the island, from the office to Coconuts to Rum Bay, are incredibly friendly and treat you like family!!
Have been twice within a 3 month period and can't wait to return ASAP!!!"

"Paradise in our own back yard
We live right here in Florida but travel to the Gulf 2-3x's a yr. to stay. Check in wasn't positive, we were rushed without anything being explained to us. We think the girl was new so we had a lot of questions. We just asked the other employees who were just so helpful & had a lot of knowledge. "

"Palm Island vacation
We had a very enjoyable stay at Palm Island. Two things that could use some attention: the bikes available for rent are in deplorable and just barely safe condition. They need to be replaced. A nice resort should reflect its attitude towards its customers with reasonable equipment and we did not feel the bikes were in good condition. Second: it would be very nice to have a breakfast restaurant on site. We were there for just two nights/three days on rather a last-minute trip and did not want to be bothered with cooler and food. Other than those two things it was a very nice stay in a lovely condo. The facilities were clean and well kept and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a great time."

"A great place to get away from it all!!
This area is very quiet and relaxing, and our unit at Palm Island was perfect. It's definitely not the place to go if you're looking for nightlife and lots of activity...but if you want to visit a beautiful beach, perhaps go shelling, and simply relax...THIS IS IT! The only thing that I can truly say was not up to snuff is the Rum Bay restaurant: the food and drinks were barely average. The best thing the restaurant has going for it is location, as it's very convenient. If the decor and menu were revamped they would have a gold mine, but as it is I would not eat there again. Having said that - I would surely visit the resort again, and just eat elsewhere! "

"Some What Happy
Unit # 3514 has furniture that is very uncomfortable, needs updating. The curtains were cheap ones that were see through and gave no privacy. The unit was clean and had everything else that you would need.We have stayed at the resort numerous times, this
unit would be rated at the bottom. The food was excellent at Rum Bay. "

"November review
This is the fourth time staying at this property - the first time in this unit. Location, as always was great, however, the unit itself this time was not particularly comfortable. The couche(s) in the living room were terribly uncomfortable and when night time came and it was time for my daughter to sleep on the couch (pulled out) she complained every night and begged to sleep with us. At almost $200.00 per night, a comfortable pull out couch is a reasonable expectation. The owner should spend a few hundred dollars to get something comfortable. I will visit this property again but will not stay in this unit again. "

"Great place, we've been there a number of times previously. I would recommend it to anyone who likes peace and quiet, beachfront, etc. Unfortunately the March weather was not cooperative this year.
It's probably time to invest in a new mattress in 3514 - getting pretty worn out. Everything else was in good shape, and the new windows, etc., are a nice upgrade."

"A magic island in paradise USA!
This was our seventh year returning to visit Palm Island resort..sometimes staying with my best friend and sometimes in a condo. There is no other place like it! If you want a quiet, relaxing and wonderful break , this is where to come. We rented a golf cart ( feels like Toonerville Trolley land as everyone walks, bikes or rides in a cart) to get to Stump Pass for wonderful shelling and walking, Or we walked out to the beach in front of our gulfview condo to relax by the ocean on resort provided lounge chairs. A beautiful pool and hot tub were clean and heated. Condos are well equipped. Front office staff greeted us with smiles and help with any housekeeping or maintenance questions. Help is available on arrival to lug luggage and groceries into the condo. Restaurants on and off the island. We cooked out on clean, in good working order grills, admired beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and watched old time movies on TV. This year we had a two week stay. we are hoping to stay a month next year. Palm Island Resort gets our highest praise for the best vacation spot. Shelling is the best!!!!"

"Almost Paradise
What a great place for a complete "get away" feeling and yet close to home. The resort has a staff willing to help at all times and accommodations that are well kept and supplied. The restaurant's menu should please most any appitite. The beach is beautiful and the shells are amazing. All in all a most enjoyable vacation spot. "

The unit was very out-dated with shabby linens - also musty smell. For the price I could stay at MUCH better accommodations"

We stayed there just after it opened some 18-19 years ago as well as Oct of 2006. We just love the place for the condition it is always in as well as the great location. We found the food at the accomodations on the island were fantastic. We plan to go there again in the not to distant future when our plans permit. "

"Nice Resort, could use better help
We arrived late on Friday night during a bad storm to find no one to help us get into our room. For over an hour we waited as the bartender finally found a key. The following day no one came to provide us the packet, we had to go to them. Then we were given the wrong keys and were locked out of our rooms. The breakfast food was of very low quality. A whole island of people and the best you can do is frozen breakfast burritos? Dinner off the island was great but on the island was fair. The resort and our room and our view were beautiful. LOVED IT. Just not the front desk help or the food."
