"Perfect getaway
Who ever knew heaven existed on earth?? Palm Island was amazing! Like having your own private beach. So peaceful and relaxing! Our villa was spacious with coastal decor. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee or dinner while watching the sunset! My only complaint is the master bed, very uncomfortable. Aside from that, we enjoyed every second in this hidden paradise. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!! Can’t wait to come back & visit again "

"Great with a few caveats
The location of the rental was perfect—centrally located to the beach, pool, ice cream, and recreation equipment rentals. A few concerns: the rental itself seemed a little rundown. Some of the light switches didn’t seem to work. The internet did not work. Some of the cabinets in the kitchen did not close and the dryer was rusty. While we definitely plan to return to Palm Island, we will likely choose a different unit next time."

"Wonderful time with a few hiccups
We love coming to Palm Island but this time we had some disappointments. Our unit was not very clean. Their was food on the floor from the last guest and the floors were dirty. There were bugs left in the corners of the master bath. The knives in the unit would not cut anything. Hardly any cook ware. The curtain that is supposed to be shut at night was broke and would not close in the family room. Also there were tons of hornets coming in and out of the front of the unit. We tried to wait to for the water taxi ride and the driver saw us waiting did not ask if we wanted to ride and he just left. The hostess in the restaurant was very rude when trying to get information on water taxi and try to call and get a take out order after the power had gone out. The rest of our experience was wonderful. We love the beach and riding around in the golf cart. The service for check in and check out was very prompt. It would be nice if more information was given about the pirate experience and water taxi and music for the kids at check in. We will come back and try a different unit because in years past we have never had as many problems. I do hope that in times like covid the units are really being extra cleaned. "

"Rejuvenating, peaceful, a paradice too good to be true!
It was amazing ( as usual). I brought two of my daughters who have heard me praise Palm Island for years . They were looking forward to going, but, until they actually absorbed what I had been raving about they were sold & wanted to stay more then just two nights.
There is not one negative thing I can say about our stay. Every time I have stayed at Palm Island when I step on to the island, I feel like I’m home ! "

"Could have been better
Not the best. The property was fine and we enjoy this get away but the unit needs some attention. There was a broken picture with broken glass in the closet which my 3 year old found during a game of hide and seek. The TVs were not fully operational. Guest room TV only comes in black and white with no audio. Holes in second set of sheets. AC was much stronger in guest room than rest of unit. All 4 of us slept in the guest room as a result. Jets in the hot tub were not working. Power went out during last night.
All in all the vacation was ok, but we were actually eager to get home."

Stayed the week that the first tropical storm went by and STILL the fishing was awesome. We changed units several times before we actually arrived and Merry was very helpful and pleasant. "Our yearly Honeymoon Trip
We decided to vacation in the states this year and I did some shopping for a beautiful warm condo. Little did I know that this slice of heaven would be just that. This was the perfect week to be on the island, little did we know that we were going to be 1 of maybe 5 couples on the island. It was perfect, staff was fun to talk too. 2 miles of heaven is what we needed. We were able to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle and reconnect with each other. We definitely will be returning and may even make it our yearly vacation spot. "

very secluded and peaceful. It was nice being close to a restaurant. The staff was very accommodating when we called for a ride or if we needed supplies. Rumbay Restuarant was excellent. Sisters Italian cuisine in Boca Grande was excellent as well. Overall, the vacation was one of the best!"

"A Memorial Day Weekend to Remember
The overall experience was wonderful. We arrived on Friday and we were confused about how many vehicles we could have in our party. During the reservation process I was told two and when I checked in I was told one. Little confusing. Otherwise our room was beautiful and spacious. The resort is family friendly and the staff was awesome. We will be back next year. "

"Week of Challenge
When we arrived we were thrilled with the unit we were in...everything was as nice as we were anticipating from online info and pictures. However, after a couple of hours had passed and after totally unpacking, we had a surprise visitor...the owner of the unit. We then were told we had to relocate because of a mixup with the resort scheduling! The resort was very apologetic and owner paid for our dinner that night so we were not too upset about repacking and relocating. The driver who helped us relocate would not accept a tip because he felt so badly about our experience. The following comments addresses the unit in which we actually spent the week. This unit was not well maintained and needed attention. Upholstery was spotted and dirty. Bed linens were clean but pillows and mattress were musty and not very comfortable. We were also asked to allow a realtor to show the property while we were there which was inconvenient for us. However, we loved Palm Island Resort and hope to come back again just not in the unit we were in this visit."

Okay, uniit was fine a couple of things. As soon as we got in the Unit, Maintenance arrived to fix a light switch which they could not do. They were there at least 30 mins. Could have been scheduled better. My wife opened closet door and it fell off the track almost on top of her. Some things need to be maintained better."

We had a wonderful time at Palm Island resort. We got off to a bit of a shaky start in that our unit was not accessible until 4:30 pm when checkout was at 3:00 pm but we enjoyed a very relaxing vacation thereafter. One area of improvement would be the quality of food at Rum Bay and Leverocks. We'd be more likely to cook more next time or eat out in town."

My sister in law & I had a wonderful experience. Our villa was clean/modern/perfectly situated to where the wedding was going to be held. We were close to the restaurant as well as the beach. (my sister in law is older/handicapped, which makes it hard time for her to get around, so the closeness was a great bonus. Upon check-in, the front desk clerk did forget to give us our "gift wedding bags", but the bride had extra & I believe she took that issue up with the clerk herself. The security & "golf cart" transportation gentlemen were very nice & so were the men who ran the ferry (we did tip each time as they work very hard & felt they deserved extra for a job well done). We would have rented golf carts, but felt that $50 per day was a bit steep, especially when we are on a budget. The yoga instructor was nice & patient making everyone feel at ease. Our server for may activities, Willis, went out of his way via kindness & activity suggestions. Overall, GREAT experience & would recommend your facility. "Short Getaway
We had a great time. A little disappointed in Leverocks, the food was just okay. Waitress was very overwhelmed with too many tables. The only problem we had were the bugs. Got eaten up by all of the mosquitos. Dan the bellman was wonderful!"

"Palm Island Vacation
This was possibly one of the best beaches I have ever been to. The water was so clear, the beach was beautiful and clean and we felt as though we had our own private beach - not another soul in sight. The room we stayed in was dated but was very clean and came with everything we needed so we were very satisfied. It was the perfect vacation and we will definitely be returning. My only complaint was the unfriendly staff. When we booked the reservation the staff were so friendly and helpful but when we arrived, everyone we encountered with the exception of one golf cart driver who drove us to our car when checking out seemed unhappy to be there and made us feel like we were unwelcome. It was strange being the rest of our stay was fantastic. "

What was supposed to be a relaxing family reunion was a nightmare from the moment we checked in. We were first given the wrong room. I questioned this and called the front desk. They instisted there was no mistake. We unpacked our belongings. The unit was so dated. It had wallpaper from the 80's and had clearly never been updated. The kitchen cabinets were all locked, so you had no place to store your food. After about an hour we got a call. We were given the wrong room. We had to pack up everything, go back to the front desk, get a new room and repack all of our luggage. Did I mention I had just gotten the cast off of my broken foot. Our entire check in was over three hours. On the plus side, the new unit was much nicer than the 1st unit. However, the back steps were swarming with wasps. My 7 year old was stung the moment he walked outside. We were given 10% off of our stay because of the check in error. Not enough if you ask me. "

"A short ferry to Paradise!
We stayed at Palm Island Resort for two nights and were delighted with our visit. The accommodation was spotless, welcoming, and so well thought-out in every detail and need. The beach and the island itself feels a world away from the busy beaches of much of the coast. It is quiet, spectacularly beautiful and full of bird life - seemingly unafraid of so few humans,since a large heron stood comfortably near us as we lazed on the sand. The whole visit was a restful and memorable experience."

"Beach Paradise
We had the most wonderful stay. Palm Island is a fabulous place for people who love the beach, shelling, swimming, peace and quiet. Anyone looking for nite life or great restaurants would be disappointed. For us, the resort is perfect. The unit we had this time was very nicely decorated, had a great view right on the beach, a kitchen very well appointed. Staff at Palm Island were all very nice and helpful. Rum Bay restaurant was improved from last time--we had some nice meals sitting on the patio. Furniture in our unit needed a little spot cleaning, but that's my only suggestion. Palm Island is the best resort so far in terms of being a very quiet place with great natural beauty. It's like having an island all to yourself. The shelling is the best! Dolphins, shorebirds, turtles, wildlife everywhere. Turquoise water. Heaven! If you want a pool bar, beach activities, entertainment, shopping, great restaurants, don't go there. If you're looking for a tranquil, restful place this is for you."

"Laid-back Island Resort With Beautiful Views!
We visited the island to attend a friend's wedding, and we plan to visit again just for a vacation or long weekend! Our villa was immaculate and had a gorgeous view of the ocean from the screened-in porch. The beaches were gorgeous, and we enjoyed fishing from the docks (although we didn't catch any fish). The Rum Bay restaurant was reasonably priced, although we do recommend bringing meals to cook in the full kitchen or one of the outdoor grills. The general store is a bit pricey, so be sure to stock up on necessities before ferrying to the island."

We skipped last year to try Arizona. While it was nice out there, we missed Palm Island. Most all of our friends from previous years were still here and minutes after arriving, we felt like we never left. It was so good that we increased next year to 6 weeks (thanks Ann for your help). We were very impressed with Rum Bay Restaurant this year. We had four meals there, all terrific. In previous years, our experiences were less rewarding. Whatever you did, do it again."
