Your home away from home is close to Meeks Bay, with a terrific sandy beach and paddleboard and boat rentals. Located on National Forest Land, the Meeks Bay shoreline is popular for its beautiful scenery, sprawling clean beaches, and easy access. The area offers a high concentration of recreation opportunities including camping, swimming, biking, boating and hiking into the nearby Desolation Wilderness.

Also nearby, Chambers Landing has a nice beach and a popular restaurant and bar (described below).

Ed Z’Berg – Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen, and juniper. Another attraction is the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion (also known as Pine Lodge), a summer home built in 1903. Winter visitors to the park will find over 20 kilometers of marked cross country ski trails and a heated restroom in the General Creek campground.

D.L. Bliss State Park is open to vehicular traffic in the summer, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe, picnicking, relaxing on the warm sand of Lester Beach or Calawee Cove, and access to hiking the Rubicon Trail, Lighthouse Trail, and Balancing Rock Trail. Lester Beach is a popular location to launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe.
You won’t want to miss the icon of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, a short drive away. Emerald Bay State Park boasts 360-degree picturesque views that encompass Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle.

Just a few miles down the road you’ll find Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts. The Magical West Shore has great options for whatever you fancy: snowshoeing, snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, sledding, and more!

Interested dining options? We recommend the Fire Sign Cafe for breakfast and lunch. The local market is convenient for a quick stop and West Shore Pizza is sure to please. Open in the summer, Chambers Landing is the oldest bar on Lake Tahoe. The menu features a wide variety of delicious items and a kids menu is also available. A favorite family hot spot and accessible from land and by boat from the lake, Chambers Landing is known for its pristine views of Lake Tahoe.

To experience all the gambling and nightlife that the Lake Tahoe area offers, South Lake Tahoe/Stateline is about a 30-minute drive.

"Smokey Home Tahoe
The TV's I the master bedroom worked for one day, then could not get connected...popcorn under couch, carpet looked very dirty and stained, no Nespresso machine as stated....very smokey, still beautiful in Tahoe. Best thing is it's close to Sugar Pine State Park."

"Wonderful cabin perfect quiet location
I picked this cabin for the large family room and large amount of seating for dining and lounging, and it did not disappoint. It was so comfortable the beds were great and even the sofa bed was great. In fact I want to buy that sofa bed so I took a picture of its tag so I could. It’s in a quiet family neighborhood and a short walk to a wonderful beach. It was clean, it was cute, and we parked three cars in the driveway. I would definitely rent this one again. It’s ok the west side, only a sort drive north or south to all the shopping and restaurants."

"Third times just as good!
This is the third time staying at this home and it was as good as ever, clean, everything works as expected, comfy and cozy, and so close to Homewood. I highly recommend staying here. Oh and the property management company was friendly and responsive. They let us arrive to the cabin a few hours earlier than the reservation. Very service oriented."

"Great Place
House was clean with plenty of extra pillows and blankets if you have a larger group. Kitchen was well equipped. Living space is nice for hanging out with the group, plenty of comfy couches and space for a nice meal as well. Location is great, nice proximity to Homewood. Would definitely recommend this place!"

"Great place to stay for our family
The Knobcone rental house was ideal for my family of five over Thanksgiving. Kitchen was well supplied to allow us to cook many meals. The fireplace was used a lot and ensured a cozy room to work on puzzles and games. BBQ worked well however a brush would have been great to clean it before use. Beds are all downstairs and were comfortable. Upstairs activity noise does travel through the floor quite a bit as it isn't fully insulated. House was clean and property manager was very responsive. Overall a great place to stay and would recommend for a family. "

"Clean, family friendly and close to the beach!
We had a wonderful week long stay at the Knobcone cabin. The house was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Although it was just my husband and myself the cabin can easily accommodate additional guests and is perfect for families. If you’re looking for a cabin close to trails and beaches this is it. "

"Convenient West Shore Lodging
The house was extremely clean and the amenities were well stocked. The location was in a quiet neighborhood with access to hiking trails and convenient to west shore ski slopes and shopping in Tahoe City. We would definitely recommend this property for the comfortable beds, cozy common areas and accessibility to recreation areas. The property management company was very responsive to our inquiries."

"Knobcone review
Our family stayed at Knobcone 2 weeks ago. We can't say enough about this amazing cabin! The location is ideal and loved that we were just a few minutes away from Homewood. The cabin was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed the living room quite a bit which was complete with games, puzzles, comfortable couches and a fireplace. Working with Trent from First Accommodations was a dream. He was timely with his responses and very clear and helpful. We are looking forward to staying at Knobcone again soon!"

"Great Stay on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe
We had a wonderful stay with First Accommodations in their Knobcone property. It was walking distance from the beach at Chambers Bay while still feeling secluded. The house was spacious with comfortable rooms and a large living room on the upper level. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need, should you choose to cook in the house. The cable and streaming apps where a nice inclusion and the WiFi was solid, which is important as cell service was not great. Also, the owners went above and beyond by holding a package delivered too early and bringing us additional propane for the grill. "

"Long weekend
This clean and comfy cabin close to the Lake gave us a wonderful long weekend away! We enjoyed cooking together in the well stocked kitchen and playing cards in the evening! "

"Great Place in the Trees
The place was clean and well stocked. We so enjoyed the storm up there... even the "roof avalanche" and mixture of sleet, snow and rain were more enjoyable because we had such a nice place to be. It was perfect for us."
Mar 03, 2019 - Letitia S., Suisun City, CA

"Good location, bad management
Upon arrival, a broken kitchen disposal unit was discovered. The use of dishwasher caused on overflow in the sink as the water did not go down. Due to this, the dishwasher could not be left unattended and we had to manually scoop the overflowing water. This made the stay very inconvenient and ruined the experience. No calls or emails were returned by First Accomodations. "
Jan 23, 2019 - Alex S., Walnut Creek, CA

"All you want in one!
Clean, light, open space, easy walk to beach and activities yet tucked away enough to be quiet and serene."

"Close to Chambers, but don't get access to Chambers Beach/Pool
This house, though spacious, and accepts pets, had a dirty grill and the deck was filthy. A quick broom or power blower would have made it more enjoyable for both our dog, as well as us sitting out there enjoying the early morning, and late afternoons.
Towels were limited. No extra blankets for kids wishing to sleep on the couches....but more importantly, we misunderstood that it was NEAR Chambers Landing, but the property does not allow for Chambers private beach or pool access, Which is what we prefer. So, although, spacious, we won't be staying here again.

"Accommodations were adequate
Would have enjoyed it more if there were amenities in the yard or patio. Patio chairs were dirty (we had to clean them off to sit) and there was no table outside for bbq so we had to eat inside - also not enough dining chairs so we had to bring one in from the patio. Backyard was not usable - dog waste and no place to sit, no hot tub or anything. No extras - bring your own towels and chairs for the river/beach. No extra towels for showers - just 1 per person. Had a couple lights not working. Trash was full when we arrived so no place to put trash for 3 days. Beds were comfortable."
Jul 16, 2018 - Susan S., Northridge, CA

"Knobcone Cabin
The house was exactly as described, very clean, comfortable and in a great location! We would definitely stay here again. The only comment we would make was that the bed covers and sheets had a lot of static. We looked for other bed covers/blankets but could not find any (we may have missed where they were placed). Besides that, the stay was perfect. First accommodations has great customer service and are very responsive. "
