"Great place to stay.
We’ve stayed at the Channelview Condominiums several times over the years for the Harvest Moon Regatta. It’s a great place where the condos have always been as pictured and fully stocked as stated in the description. The view is great for watching the boats coming in from the race. "

"Great location.
Loved the location. So close to the beach.perfect for morning and evening walks. Likes the security of the property. Condo was nice and roomy. Disappointed that the pool was not heated although we were assured it was. It was cold, likely under 80. The condo had updates but worn furniture arms, toilet seat, tub and numerous chipped dishes took away from the experience. Washing machine did not work and there were no hangers for clothes in the closets. Asked for more but heard nothing back. No scissors in the kitchen. no kettle to boil water or tea pot. Great views but curtains that don’t open fully block 1/3 of the view. It is a lovely spacious condo with such great potential. Easy check in and condo was clean.bedroom lamps were unplugged and plugging them in behind a heavy bed a pain. All just little things but they add up. Beds and linens were very comfortable."

"Not so pleasant stay
The location, pier amd pool we loved. The unit we stayed in was dirty when we arrived. Blood stain by light switch in one of the restrooms, lots of hair on floor in living area by the windows. The master bedroom bathroom had a sewer smell whenever we showered. Maintenance was called out but couldn’t find the smell. Our toaster was broken and maintenance did bring a new one the following day. This is our second year staying at the condos and our last time wasn’t all that pleasant. "

"Condo 105
Pros: Beautiful view of the channel. My 80 year parents sat by the window the whole time and watched the boats and oil rigs come through.

Port A Escapes was very prompt when we called because we couldn’t get into the door. There was no door plate so you have to push the door in while turning the knob at the same time in order for the lock to disengage. Condo was clean. Trash bags, sponges, dishwasher tablets were left to use. Easy access to the condo with text messages sent to your phone for check in and check out.

Cons: The water in the front bathroom shower doesn’t drain so you’re standing in water the whole time you’re having a shower. You have to hold down the toaster handle the whole time or the handle pops back up.

"October stay
We have been staying here for almost 20 years and we love it. Our only complaint would be that the floors were very very dirty. Our feet were black if we were barefooted in the condo. House keeping could improve in that category."

"Great Getaway!
We haven’t been to CV since Harvey. They made a lot of great renovations. I love the gate to keep people out that shouldn’t be there. I love the wristbands, however, I saw a lot of low life’s that must have been let in by a guest. Not one wristband on. They need security to ensure everyone is wearing one, if not boot them out."

Overall very nice and safe! However for the prices charged there were too many inconveniences that we had to deal with (missing or not working light bulbs, floors were not super clean, furniture needed to be cleaned, etc...Ceiling fan not working.?If all were working properly than the price charged would be fine, however that was not the case."

"Great location, but many inconveniences
Problems:
* The overhead lights in the exterior hallway were out; at night it was very difficult to punch in the code to access the apartment.
* Two lamps were missing light bulbs, so I had to call and request them
* Bird **** all over the windows spoiled the view. Why aren't you cleaning the windows?!!
* The apartment decor is outdated, so in the living area things look shabby. That dark wicker furniture is depressing, and there is so much of it!
* Water pressure in the master bathroom sink is terrible -- only a trickle. If I wanted to wash my face I had to go to another sink

"Channelview Condominiums Port Aransas
We have been staying at Channelview Condominiums since 2001. In the early days, reservations were made directly with the property manager on site and maid service was provided after 3 days and every other day after that. Times have changed, and an outside property management company is now in charge. You are responsible for your own trash and clean towels which makes having a washer and dryer convenient for families. But, it takes the fun away from being on vacation. The old fashioned service we received before off site management came in was convenient because you could walk to the office and get extra towels , toilet paper etc. or ask one of the friendly maids on site for extras. Not all units are available for rent regardless of what you see on the web page due to hurricane Harvey in 2017. Most interior pictures are pre-Harvey and may not be up to date. Having an onsite pool and pier is convenient but the pier is not private since there is no locking gate. You are given a gate code but there is only a latch. Wristbands are to identify guests however many people are on the pier without wristbands. In years past, if we had any concerns all we had to do was to walk to the office and our needs were immediately addressed with a radio call to onsite maintenance and housekeeping. We knew the staff by first names and were always greeted while on the property. Post Harvey repairs have been slow, there were four barbecue pits and four picnic tables outside by the pier, but only 2 of each are left. Pier has been made over with new rails and green fishing lights. Over all our experience was good, the property is very nice, great views of passing ships and an occasional offshore oil platform being pushed out so there is never a dull moment. I may sound too picky but I grew up with old fashioned customer service with actual human interaction and not by typing out requests and checking out by phone. I miss the friendly office manager, Ingrid, who lived on site."

"Great weekend!
The condo was comfortable, clean and well appointed. We enjoyed watching ships come and go from our large living room window or the pier. It was quiet on the weekend despite the obvious construction during the week. Cable was not working and was difficult to get fixed. Despite this we will go back. We loved it."

"Family Fishing Trip Weekend
The rental part of our stay was easy. Rooms were nice and clean. Our problem was with the A/C unit which we reported and a service tech came to repair. Next day we had the same issue with the condo not cooling. We had other things scheduled that we didn't bother with it anymore. The pier was clean but the weather was crazy! Unfortunately the channel in front of the pier was dredged just a few days before which caused us to get caught a lot and we lost a lot of tackle because of it. We still had a lot of fun and always have had in the past. Still the A/C system needs to be looked into. Thanks, Art "

"Family vacation
Everything was wonderful as always. We have stayed here about for times and always enjoy it. The only thing about this last stay was that when we were checking out the maintenance worker put a sign on elevator stating it was under maintenace yet allowed house keeping to load their linens while we had to go up and down stairs to load our cars. Very upset about that especially since it was done during check out time. "

"GREAT STAY
Fourth time we have stayed at Channelview, twice in 211 and twice in 105. 105 stay is due to the elevator to 105. All four stays have been very enjoyable. "Dirty Floors.
The floors were filthy. Main bathroom tub needs to be replaced. Sheets and blankets were scratchy. Pillows were hard. Sheets on one bed were musty. Cushions on couches need to be cleaned. Other then that it is a very beautiful unit and is very well equipped. Was disturbed that a cleaning lady popped in two of the 3 days we were there."

"Perfect Vacation Rental!
This Place was perfect for our 2 families. There was plenty of room and everything we needed for all of us. We enjoyed the view from the room, how close it was to the beach, and the pool and fishing off the pier. The First night we were there, we saw a few sea turtles right outside the building next to the pier. And it was so much fun watching the dolphins every night swim around all the fishing poles off the pier as well. The place was well stocked with all the necessities and close to everything. Port A Escapes was helpful and friendly! The check-in and check out process was simple and easy. Everyone had a blast and we plan on staying again. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!!"

The only complaint we have was that the condo wasn't very clean when we got there. We had to sweep up broken pieces of green glass, there were crumbs on kitchen counters, long dark hairs all over the floor in back bathroom, and the shower has mold in corner by door. "

I was so happy with this condo & the location. I dont think it could have gotten any better actually. Right in town near all the restaurants & fishing boats. Did not have to go over to the public pier to fish at all because we had our own private pier there that only guests at Channelview had access to. The residents that live there year round were also so friendly to us. Cant wait to go back in the summer with all the family. Port A Escapes makes it so easy on you. Will not use anyone else in the future. Also forgot a entire bag of laundry at the condo & they are sending it back to me."

"Great Affordable Family Getaway
This condo was perfect for our family of adults and children both. The rooms were spacious. the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied. the view of the canal and the marina was beautiful and exciting when the big tankers came in from out to sea the children and the grown boys loved this. The access to the private pier was great for the fishermen in our family. The pool was a nice escape from the beach and ocean water. We enjoyed our stay very much! We will be using Port A Escapes again and will recommend it to friends and family. The only problem we had was the construction worker hammering and running hand tools before 7 am on Sunday morning. We weren't the only quests complaining."

Family vacation. Good location. Very small elevator. No outside balcony. Nice windows in living area. Good access to private fishing pier. Gate code didn't work. Outdoor grills and tables. Overall nice unit and fun to stay on the channel and watch boats, seagulls, dolphins, etc. Really close to restaurants and the piers. Recommend driving down to Mustang Island for beach as local beach is not nearly as nice. "

"Condos on the Channel
Our stay in Port A was mainly meant as a little fishing trip, and I have to say that these condos were well worth it. The rooms themselves were great and the private pier is absolutely awesome! Tip: head out there between 12am-4am and enjoy catching tons of topsail gaff (big sea catfish!)"
