"We loved this condo!
Beautiful condo! Clean and updated. Love the floors! We had four people staying and it was so roomy and comfortable. I appreciated the little things like having a hair dryer, iron, a baby playpen and even laundry detergent to do a few loads. We had lots of families staying in different condos and they’d all walk into this one and ooh and aah because it was so pretty. Definitely recommend!"

It was a beautiful condo. And our stay was fun. The downstairs bathroom tub would not drain fast enough. Not sure if it’s clogged. That was the only bad thing we had."

"Weekend getaway family of 5
One of the best we’ Rented at turtle bay. Spacious with room to spare. Kitchen fully equiped. Appliances all new. Kitchen newly remodeled. Only problem was batroom tub would fill up and drain very slow. Would definitely do again."

"our New Years Stay
we seemed to lack a few things. The bed seemed a bit hard and for the life of me, I cannot understand why a vacation rental by the beach would not have beach towels! Did we miss finding them? We did love our experience there and would go there again!

Had a pleasant stay at your vacation rental. Will come back again. Had guests that came after work and could have used another entrance button. "

"Review of Unit 110
It's a quiet location abuts the golf course. The unit lacked any cleaning supplies. The kitchen was very small and had no food storage containers or even basic supplies like tin foil or plastic wrap. We had to fix the tv to make it work and none of the remote controls to the tvs worked. It was a very clean unit but the screens in the window sand doors are long over do to be replaced. Plenty of religious reading materials... the office staff was very helpful. "

"Miller Ohana- Inhospitable- terrible stay
The rental agency "Turtle Bay Estates" has several pages of demands from renters but in return for paying top dollar and following their rules (i.e you have to inconvenience yourself by dropping jeys to them 2.5 miles away) you get no assistance with problems or communication. I specifically asked for a quiet unit. Not onky did ours face the highway but all wek the exterior was being prepoed and painted including taping off our windows and doors. Made for an uncomfortable and inconvenient stay. The rental agency did nit warn ys of this or compensate us- we paid $275 per night plus tax and cleaning- way overpriced.

The unit itself was spacious. Although it hasd been cleaned there were spiders living in many uncleaned corners. The sliding screen doors were in disrepair and would not close properly ( they screached). Due to this our baby got about 50 mosquito bites while sleeping.

There were only 2 beach towels for the 5 of us. The cutlery and knives were the cheapest possible. It feltas if the agency "Turtle Bay Estates" and the owner didnt welcome guests but tolerated them.

Wish I'd rented from a different agency.

"Great family vacation
My family with 3 kids under 7 and my in laws stayed for 6 days for a wedding at Turtle Bay and had the best time. Unit was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to The resort and beach was awesome. A few issues - light bulb went out, garbage disposal not working - were taken care of promptly. Only wish the pantry had a few more essentials, but we were warned ahead of time and just made a few trips to the grocery store. All in all perfect for our family!"

"Feb 13/14 stay
Unit 110 west was very clean and was updated nicely. I had trouble with the AC the first night as i didn't know it's default was econo mode which cycles on and off all night. Good for maybe a hot day (we only used it at night) but at night it was miserable. Eventually shut off and sweated it out but it was a long night. Figured it out next day including fan works by pull chain (used to remotes) the house was great otherwise and would stay there again. The AC issue made for a long night and tiring next day over something simple so had to mention it. If the condo provided soap in all the bathrooms that would have been nice. I was not expecting to bring my own soap. (First vrbo to not provide soap) we just ran the kitchen soap to both bathrooms as needed. Learned the door locks behind you the hard way (lock is broken) enjoyed our short stay. Thank you "

"North Shore, Turtle Bay Estates
This was probably one of the worst condos I've stayed in. This particular condo was dated. Amenities - what amenities? No shampoo, hair dryer and these are basic. The dryer was also broken! We travelled with other family members. Their condos next to us were MUCH nicer. They also had beach mats, towels, etc."

"Dated but clean
We stayed for 3 nights in January , loved the location & size of the property .
The unit itself is a little tired & could do with a bit of a refurb but it was clean & nice to have a kitchen & laundry . "

"Very disappointed
The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the beyond thread bare chair in the entry. The the glass tables that weren't clean. The blue chairs are in such bad shape you need to sit on a towel. The tiny ants on the counter are somewhat expected in a tropical place. The carpet was not only stained, but had not been vacuumed up to the walls. The micro over the stove is so greasy that it has actually formed droplets. The side of the fridge by the stove was splattered from cooking . The walls have splashes on them. Basically things were not clean enough and considering the cleaning fee every renter pays one would expect it to be clean. The worst insult was the condescending attitude when when we turned in the keys. We said that the place was in terrible shape and she said "we know" with a big smile. Asked if we booked on line or over the phone? They tell people it is dated, dated can be comfortable. This was NOT! This was the sixth time we have rented through Estates at Turtle Bay and I believe the last. No longer will we be recommending them. Not because the estate grounds aren't lovely, but because of the attitude. Being February we paid top price, more than ever at this location and feel betrayed that they are renting out something for so much that they know isn't up to par. I just hope that it will at least be cleaned properly for the next suckers who have booked this unit. On the bright side the towels and bedding were clean."

"GREAT LOCATION , fun place
the apartment is great, me and the family had a great time, the description and photos were accurate , the furniture is a bit old , and so is the carpet ,
but clean otherwise,

"Unhappy guest
The refrigerator is not working well. Garbage disposal is broken and furniture cushion is dirty. Not enough air coming in because of less windows, maybe it's nice to have AC in the living room because it was hot. Screen doors are all broken. I don;/t want to stay there again - at least not that property condo."

"3 night stay
The only problem was it was very hot at night-upstairs bedroom AC did not work well-livingroom and loft were very hot during the night. Otherwise it was wonderful."

"Lovely,clean spot, lousy furnishing,needs upgrading
The condo is very comfortable, but VERY,VERY rundown..furniture falling apart and DIRTY..many things lacking...needs a good overhaul, leftover floor tiles in downstairs bedroom closet, broken lamp in upstars bedroom closet, broken airconditioner upstairs, lousy entry..broken chair and table under the stair case,,bed pillow as chair back, nothing else in entry!!!AWFUL!!!! Good thing we;re all from Hawaii or we would have left!!! "

"Clean but no bells or whistles
Renting from the Turtle Bay Estates is always a great experience. This condo was clean but bare bones. We were looking for a great price so it was just what we needed. When our budget isn't as tight, we will rent 108 West."
Oct 17, 2014 - Suzanne A., Clariemont, CA

"It was OK
The size of the condo was great. The overall cleanliness wasn't. There was trash in the drawer of the master nightstand, there was a wine glass that was cracked, only one chair for the patio table, the cushion covers were dirty and the zippers broken so they would come off when you sat on them. The place sleeps 6 but only had 3 coffee mugs? The sheets on the master bed were old and smelled moldy."

"Not Clean
There was a lot of ants on the first night. the furniture was a little out-dated. Spiderwebs were everywhere. We had to clean the whole place ourselves to feel comfortable. "
Sep 26, 2013 - , Oakland , CA

We spent 3 nights in the condo this wek and they were the worst nights of our trip. The place felt dirty, when you touched the banister on the staircase it felt like it had not been cleaned in years. The wicker chairs in the kitchen felt like they were going to fal apart. The bigest problem though were the ants, they were everywhere. It was an obvious issue because there were ant traps allover the kitchen and other places. We were afraid to leave any food out so we ended up eating out all the time to save the problem of storing food. The wicker living room sofa and chair had ants living in it. when you looked closely at it you could see them moving around. That kept us off this furnitue as well. Lighting is terible at the place as well. Also when we would plug in our phone chargers the receptile would spark as you plugged it in, which worried us. After reading the guest review book that was at the condo itappears that the ant problem has been an issue going back toat least 2006. Also in looking at reviews after the fact I see that ants have been mentioned as an issuein the past, I just with I had paid more attention to the reviews previous guests have made and I would have avoided the unit. I will say the location of the condo on the North Shore was nice and while the pools were not very impressive and were very old they were clean. I would stay again in a condo there just not the unit we were in."

"Not the best but not terrible either.
Things didn't start out well. The gate code provided for 1st time entry didn't work. Turns out, they change the code on the 1st of the month. We arrived on the 2nd and had been given the code for the previous month. Fortunately, a maintenance man was working near the gate and let us in. First impressions of the unit were that it needed updating. It looks like it have been 10 or 15 years since anything was changed. When we arrived, it smelled very musty. An industrial fan was blowing in the main floor bedroom. The carpet in the closet was pulled back and the fan was blowing under the carpet. I called property management for some sort of resolution and they said they would take care of it. I also commented on the musty smell. We left for dinner and came back to find the fan gone and a can of air refreshener in a bag on the door handle. The refer light was burned out and every 3 way bulb in the place only worked on 1 setting so the unit is kind of dark at night. The place was clean and we kept it that way so there were minimal issues with ants. This was our first time on Oahu and we didn't realize how far the North Shore was from everything so we spent a lot of time in the rental car. We rented for 7 nights but didn't stay the last night. I was tired of driving so we booked a room in Honolulu. With a little updating and some TLC this could be a very nice unit. You do get what you pay for so, overall, we weren't unhappy. Just remember, it's at least an hour drive to Honolulu so take that into consideration."

"Just Okay!!
Overall experience was satisfactory! However, some things could be improved. The condo seemed like it had not been dusted, swept or vaccumed when we arrived. Lei's on lamps looked dead and kitchen broom and equipment very well worn and old. We also found a tooth in the upstairs loft, which suggests indequate cleaning. I understand the ant problem in Hawaii, but it was a problem in the kitchen. We still had a great time but felt the condo could have been cleaner!"

"Happy Days
The Estates itself was wonderfulstayed here meny times and we have stayed here many times as "local" tourists for family events or just to escape the hubub for a few days, 110 West however needs renovating.. the queen bedroom had a bad water leak (if you got out of bed on the left side you got very wet feet so you could only get out of bed on the right side or from bottom of bed and you could not use the closet) also the room smelled damp, and we were given 2 different stories as to the reason for the leak by the cleaners and by the office...the cleaners saying itr had just started the day before we arrived and the office having a total different story..the people above us had a leaking hot tub, (there was no condo above us) and no offers to recompense or prevent other rentors coming in after us...there was also very few dishes to eat off in this house and no bowls for cereal etc...overall though wwe enjoyed the estates!"

"Not the best experience we have had renting
We have stayed in different units before at turtle bay, this was the first time we had stayed at this particular unit and it was alright. The ants were a big problem and there was extensive water leakage in the bottom floor guest room to the point that it covered the entire carpet area in front of the closet making the closet unusable. Because of the water and it was apparent from the mold that this leak was not the first, there was a musty smell as well. We called the management company first on Saturday night and didn't get a return call until Sunday evening and a visit Monday morning from a maintenance worker holding a can of ant spray which we had already bought Saturday night. Thankfully it wasn't an emergency, but it was an inconvenience that didn't seem to be a top priority. The first time we rented with this management company the property was ant free and no issues so we didn't have any concerns. We also paid more for this particular property due to size but it was not in better condition. I was disappointed that the management company was not more prompt to address the flooding (which apparently happens due to a neighbors hot tub) or didn't feel the need to quickly rectify or even apologize. I do feel we overpaid for what we got, We go to Hawaii 3-4 times a year and rent a variety from condos to homes, but this may be the last time with this company. "

"The bottom of the list
Not the best unit really needs updating the carpet is nasty and I could not get rid of the ants!!"
Nov 02, 2012 - Buddy P., Las Vegas, NV

We enjoyed our stay but this unit really needs an upgrade/renovation! There was a really big ant problem, I knew there was going to be insects but not to that extent. We had to make sure everything was in ziplocs and all food was put away. There was also some things that were broken in the condo. In the bottom bedroom we didnt want to use the colaet because it looked really dirty, it had a stack of dirty tiles! The kitchen was not fully equipped with what we needed, good thing we brought some of our own things. I wouldnt stay at this particular condo again=("

"Wonderful Family Vacation
My overall experience at your vacation rental was wonderful. From the ladies in the office when I checked in to the housekeeper who had a great personality you truly showed ur aloha spirit. I will definitely be recommending this property to everyone I know. We stayed out there because we had a family wedding to attend. The next time will be purely for enjoyment. Thank you all for making this a wonderful mini vacation for my family and I. "

"Perfect Getaway
The Estates at Turtle was the perfect choice for my family's vacation on North Shore Oahu. This condo had plenty of room, was clean and comfortable, as well as ideally located. We were able to enjoy the resort and the beautiful bay. The ocean was an easy 5 minute walk through the beautiful property. The location allowed us easy access to the Kahuku Shrimp Trucks and ocean activities of Haleiwa. The staff at The Turtle Bay Resort Activities Center booked oceanside horseback riding for us, which was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the condos when vacationing on Oahu.

Jul 18, 2012 - Susan P., Roscoe, IL

"Horrible rental agency
The condos are wonderful. Our family rented 2 units and had no complaints. However, do not rent from the Estates at Turtle Bay. They hit us with $300 cleaning fee on top of the $300 in our contract. They claimed the condos were left in unacceptalbe condition. We vacuumed, swept, washed the dishes and towels and threw the trash. We did not make the beds, clean the bathroom, wash the linens or seperate the twin beds that we made into king. I did leave the vacuum cleaner and ironing board out but I do not believe that was unacceptable for $330. Use another rental agency, other family members did and did not have this issue. Great place would recommend."

"Great condo vacation rental!
This unit was very nice, spacious and clean. It had so many amenities, a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds. We came to Turtle Bay for a family wedding, and this was a great alternative to the resort hotel. We all loved it, no complaints at all! Would definitely stay there again! The price was very reasonable. Thanks for a super nice vacation place!"

"Not bad...
We visited the other condos that our family and friends were staying at, which were a lot nicer, cleaner and updated than this property. But it beats staying at the Turtle Bay Resort."

"very good
very good except for the U$ 100 extra they wanted to charge me alleging that the house was left dirty.
There was absolutelly no dirty left, we1ve taken care very well of the house.
There were left only bed sheets and dishes to wash.
Hopfully they didnt charge but it was a stressing situation to be charged inadvertidly.

"Very nice place to stay
I very much enjoyed my stay at this property. It was an amazing location. The property is clean although it could use a little maintenance as it is a little run down. But that is a fairly minor issue and I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again and refer my friends."

"Wonderful , blissful ,soulful .....
We got in late and couldn't really see the property that well when we arrived ,but the next morning when we woke up ,it was like waking in "OZ"....the grounds were absolutely gorgeous and immaculately clean ...While going out to different events ,we would honestly refer to the condo as 'home'....I do plan on returning very soon ,but after I tell my friends ,we may have to get a few more units!!."

"Spacious unit but needs some attention
This place is insect ridden, Ants everywhere including our luggage when we left. the kitchen was hardly useable. the refigrorator was coming apart. there were almost no utensils to prepare or eat food with. the air conditioners were inadequate and should be replaced. The property is not near the beach. this property was built in 1973. it has beautiful design elements and is spacious. But it needs some updating, insect control and some attention from the owner. "

"Very Reasonably priced!
The only complaint is that there were a lot of spider webs in the closets and in the ceiling corners and the stove top wasn't wiped down; there were burnt food crumbs on it. Hard to believe that the unit gets cleaned regularly and for the price we are charged for the cleaning service."

Stopped by the office to make sure I was in the right place. I was greeted with, "We don't do early check-in". Who asked? Went back at check-in, and was greeted warmly by someone I knew, as I was returning home for a visit. Except for the cold greeting, I would recommend this property on its own merits. Mahalo"

"Our Stay
First, there were no instructions on how to access the keys. We came on a Saturday and the office was closed. No one mentioned there would be a security gate, nor gave us a access code to get in. We sat by the gate and held up traffic (to the dismay of others waiting).

Then, there were multiple ants around the entire condo. Small little rascals.

Finally, the air conditioning unit/filter was filled with dust. When it was hot, I'd turn on the air conditioning only to have dust fill the air and then I'd start sneezing."

"damp and smelly
My father stayed in the upstairs bedroom and was bitten by bedbugs. He told me he actually saw at least 2 of them and killed them. I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and was also bitten. My son stayed in the loft and was not bitten.

We did not stay in any other hotel prior to checking into the condo. We have not encountered bedbugs before. I know they can be picked up many places and it could be that we got them on the plane on the way over to Hawaii???

ALSO, there is a VERY bad leak somewhere in the condo, the carpet in the downstairs bedroom was soaking wet and the room smelled moldy/mildewy the entire time we were there. And oven was really, really dirty.

View of the mountains was pretty, but noise from Hwy 83 was annoying especially since windows have to be open to keep the place cool due to no AC. The breeze did keep the place cool and comfortable."

"A good jumping off place for the things we wanted to do in the area.
We appreciated the twin beds in the loft area although it did get a little hot up there if we had been using the dryer.
We found things under beds and behind dressers that previous tenants had left indicating that it wasn't deep cleaned. Kitchen was well stocked. Laundry facilities nice. Needed lighting that worked in the living room area."

"Uncomfortable Stay
There is no problem with location of the property. In fact location is why chose it. The property was clean but ants were EVERYWHERE! In the Kitchen (counters, drawers & cabinets), in bathrooms, and especially IN the BEDS (upstairs and downstairs). NONE of the doors were able to lock including the FRONT DOOR). Poor security for those that stay in that unit. The patio doors, outter and inner, were broken. We have made it a tradition to track down to the Turtlebay Estates for a quick getaway and every year it seems to be getting worse, with this year topping the most uncomfortable yet."

"Great Place to Stay
Everything about this place is beautiful.
Jun 10, 2010 - Mary P., San Antonio, Texas

We were pretty satisfied with the condo. We weren't satisfied with what appeared to be a mongoose who ate our bananas and candy. I constructed a hanging apparatus out of hangers to keep the mongoose out of our other food. we never saw it, but we're pretty sure that was what tore through the bananas. The place also could use some more lights. It was a nice place to stay, and I would stay there again."

"Needs a makeover!
We got moved to this unit because of something broken in the unit we reserved. This place badly needs a makeover and a deep cleaning. It was tidy, but the cabinet doors, etc. were grimy. The bathrooms and furniture badly need an upgrade. On the upside, it's very spacious, quiet and safe.

Be sure to bring lots of ziplock baggies.. the ant problem is maddening! "

If I didn't have anything to compare our condo to, my opinion may be different. My friends stayed in a neighboring condo. Their furniture was immaculate. Their kitchen was stocked with spices. They had beach equipment and updated electronics. I was blown away by their condo! Ours was a good place to stay, but the furniture was uncomfortable and old and dirty, the beds were not comfortable, and the bathroom smelled like mildew, particularly the shower curtain. The kitchen was a bit dirty, had old food in the fridge, and did not even have salt and pepper. Granted, the condo was only $1500 for the 6 nights, so I cannot say it was a horrible deal. It did the trick of giving us a place to sleep and held all of our luggage, but we will probably not be staying at this condo again. Also, it was further from the beach than anticipated which was a downfall."

"It is always a fun, safe and beautiful place to stay with children. We've even gone alone just as a couple. Beautiful property.

"review of 110 west
Well furnished and comfortable accomodation. Very hot at nights even with fans & air con. All staff - grounds people, management - friendly & helpful. Had to drive to beaches and immediate surf break only average. Probably stunning if you like golf. "

We would highly recommend this property for a central vacation location on the North Shore. Thank you again!"

"Enjoyable Vacation!
Our family really enjoyed our stay there--relaxing, swimming, playing tennis, etc. One little request--please install an a/c in the living room. Mahalo!"

Beautiful property. Guaranteed to enjoy your stay. Be aware, kid pool changes weekly so you may have to use a different pool. More of an FYI for parents traveling with kids."

"Can't think of a better way to go
After one night at the Laie Inn we knew we could not spend the next three there. In scrambling to find something affordable and close, we came across these rentals and they were absolutely AWESOME! There are only two little things we didn't like. 1) there were these tiny little ants that just come and go as they please. They were not all over the place, but where they frequent, they are always there. 2) window AC units are just not strong enough for a place that size.

Overall I really can't think of a better way to go if you have a party that is more than one hotel room can handle. For the price it can't be beat. It CAN'T BE BEAT. Plus you get to use the kitchen so it really keeps the food cost down. The Estates at Turtle Bay is where we will be when we go back to Hawaii again."

We had a great time, but there was a constant problem with ants in the kitchen."

"Staying on a golfcourse with view of mountains? Priceless!
We had a great time. Property was nicely kept and we had plenty of room. 2 minor negatives - could not open screen doors on porch for easy access to running path, and it was very warm at night. The window air conditioners were not very effective. We adjusted though, and would definitely come back! "

"Disappointing summer retreat
The air conditioner in the bedroom downstairs was not working. We reported the problem to the office, however, we spent the first night very uncomfortable due to the heat. Fortunately, the air conditioner repairman was able to come the next day and repair the air conditioner. Unit 110 west was also infested with ants. From past experience, we know that there are ants in the units, however, the ants in this unit was out of control! Over the next few days, we tried to control the ant problem with our own ant baits and insect sprays, however, the ant infestation was severe."

"We felt our stay met our expectations, over looking the golf course within walking distance of the Turtle Bay resort. The pools agound the facility appeared to be in neglect. The barbeques were not useable, they were dirty, one was actually rusty.
Overall the facility and surrounding areas were very clean. It was quiet at night. "

"Good place to stay
We really liked this condo. It was roomy enough for 6 people. The North Shore is so beautiful. We did travel alot to the Honolulu side, but we didn't mind very much. We were fortunate that when the storm hit and most the island lost power, we were able to find power on the island, and it had returned to our condo by the time we got back that evening. The only con was the little ants that were all over our bathroom and bedroom upstairs and the kitchen, the owner did leave ant spray. Overall we loved Oahu, and the condo. My co-worker stays in these condo almost every year and told me about them. We were very pleased with the price. We recommend this as a great place to stay and hope many more guests have as much fun and blessings as we did."
