"Great location, useless AC
The location was great! Close to turtle bay and the beach. The place was relatively clean and had everything we needed. Upstairs studio was great with the big bed and daybed. The bedroom was a nice size and had a big bed with bathroom attached. Only complaint is the AC. There was a small window unit for the whole place which is OK. The problem is the unit was on the ground and blocked by a table and couch. So we didn't really get a lot of airflow from it and had to use the fans provided. Overall a good experience though since we were only there for sleeping."

"Great holiday with the family!
My family and I had a fantastic stay. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and the kids loved the loft room. The unit had everything we needed and was such a lovely place to relax. We loved the location- beach close by and Turtle Bay Resort. Thank you to the owner!- we would recommend this condo to anyone travelling with teenage kids, like our family. "

"Turtle Bay 148 East
Our stay was very enjoyable. Only problems were nonworking internet and a car permanently parked in the condo's space. Everything else was great. Close to beach, and not far from other attractions. Condo was clean. Nearby pool was great."

"Like Turtle Bay resort not this rental
Turtle Bay is a great resort with all the amenities restaurants beach snorkeling swimming pools but this rental had some issues. 1st off when we get there somebody is parked in the numbered spot. It turns out it was the owner's dead car and we had to park in guest parking and later they put warning notices on our cars and we had to go talk to someone about it. Not horrible, just a hassle. The place was clean and had some amenities- washer/dryer, air conditioning but some things were broken or didn't work. We walked quite a ways to the beach before we realized the beach chairs were both broken. When we put those back and went to snorkel using the Only 1 snorkel set provided we realized it was also not working properly. When we tried to grill that night and the already lame electric grill kept popping the breaker and effectively wouldn't work. They have grills by the pool but they don't work well and sometimes you have to wait in line. When we tried to open wine we found there was no corkscrew and I ruined a nice shirt pushing the cork thru and splashing wine on it. Again, The resort is so nice that it didn't ruin our time there but was a hassle and annoying. I would stay at Turtle Bay resort but don't rent from this company Estates at Turtle Bay go on VRBO and rent from an individual owner, they tend to have better upkeep."

"Vacation full of Forever Memories
The upstairs bed is heaven. I love the staircase going upstairs, the lighting on the stairs was such a great idea. Has plenty of storage. Loved the towel hangers in the hall, for drying bathing suits and towels nightly. Saved using the dryer. Very clean, nice new TV. Loved the pool and enjoyed meeting other residents and guests. Loved watching the golfers and helicopter daily. The grounds are beautiful. "

"Turtle Bay 148 East
Very nice condo, freshly renovated, very clean and in a perfect location!"

"Review
My experience was excellent. The condo was very clean. The management company was very responsive. I love the location. Kuilima Estates East is fabulous. My only negative was that the closets in the upstairs bedroom were locked???"
Apr 08, 2014 - Dan P., Provo, UT

"Good Condo
Condo was in decent condition. In living room, there were small biting bugs in the couch which would attack whenever we were sitting down. The stairs to the loft were a bit shaky and steep.

Other than these issues, condo worked out great."

"Never more at this Unit
Thats a really bad unit...a lot of cockroach...everything at the house is old...very dirt carpet, net, curtain, fan, towels, no doors at 1 bathroom....the neibor beside have to move from unit because find a mouse inside. They keep a trap for mouse in the top of refrigerator....finally never more and no recommend to nobody."

"Hard to find from directions
The property management needs to include either the address of the condo or street names on the instructions."

"A fantastic choice
We needed to find an affordable place to stay on the North Shore that accommodated 6 adults. This fit the bill perfectly. A short jaunt to Turtle Bay for the beach and what a view. Would definitely do this again!"
Apr 26, 2013 - beau r., canyon country, ca

"Very nice place, itself but poor management
Very nice place, i loved this house.
but no key in keybox on arrival at late night so i had to call manager with my roaming phone & housekeeper left her tools and trashes in the living room.
And there's no sound insulation(i think all properties have same condition, not only this) - family who stayed our adjacent room in the same building shouted and struggled in the early morning(5-7am)! It was horrible!
But this house itself has very lovely bedrooms and many utensils in the kitchin. "

"Vacation In Oahu
Enjoyed an excellent time at The Estates at Turtle Bay. Close to the north shore, the Polynesian Culture Center, Kualoa Ranch, and many beaches. The condo had plenty of room for 6 adults. Check-in and out were easy. We didn't spend to much time at the condo, just used it for sleeping, showering, and eating in the morning. Will be using the condo's for future trips to Oahu."

"fun in the sun
we had a great vacation...... the stairs were a little unstable and lots of ants but other than that it was a good time!"
Mar 04, 2013 - Marcella G., Grants Pass, Oregon

"Hard to deal with management company
The condos we rented were nice and we had fun. Condo was not in as good a condition as the pictures. We were blamed and charged for breaking a television when management cannot prove that it was not broken before or after our stay. We stayed there for our wedding, were rarely in the condo and definitely did not break anything. We also returned all keys and were blamed for not returning them. The gate code provided did not work and we had trouble getting in and out of the parking lot. We have stayed in these vacation rentals before but will most likely not be coming back if we have to deal with the same disorganization and mismanagement."

"148 East
Somewhat disappointed in the unit - bathroom door missing, multiple handicapped features that weren't noted in the bio, kitchen 'junky', staircase wobbly (unsafe?), but gorgeous setting and amenities."
Oct 11, 2012 - , Pleasanton, California

"Not Recommended!
The condo needs to be updated. The stairs in the condo were VERY dangerous and steep. The carpet is horrible. It was hot unless you kept the windows open, but then you hear all the noise from others coming and going which was LOUD. The only AC it has is a window AC and fans in the condo. The only things I liked about this condo was the beds were awesome and the couch, it had beach supplies as well. "

"Perfect "Homebase" Location
Our stay while in Hawaii at the North Shore was amazing! The Estates at Turtle Bay is a perfect location. We were in Hawaii to attend a wedding on the Noth Shore. We loved our condo and all of its amenities and comforts. My husband, myself and our two sons were very comfortable. The boys stayed in the loft while we enjoyed the master suite all to ourselves. Being able to cook for ourselves was a plus. We weren't in a cramped hotel room being dependent on someone else to prepare your food. We are looking forward to our next trip to the North Shore and will definately be staying at the Estates. "

"Best Vacation!
We had a wonderful time and very relaxing. Would love to do it again soon. Condo was clean and in excellent shape. The spiral stairs could become a hazard it you didn't pay attention, other than that the place was perfect."
Apr 16, 2012 - Leslie G., North Little Rock, AR

"the location is perfect.
This is a second floor unit overlooking the fairway of Turtle Bay Golf Course. Although, you cannot see the ocean, you can hear the waves when it is quiet. The beach is a short walking distance passing through the fairway. A swimming pool is close to the next building and you have it to yourself most of the time.

Once you enter the unit, you have a bedroom with a full bath facing the parking lot and a second full bath is next to the kitchen. The loft you enter using the spiral stairway, which is narrow with steep stairs. The d├ęcor and furnishings are somewhat dated and lighting is insufficient. Internet provider is cable and the wireless network works well. In the bedroom, there is a desktop PC with printer/scanner. So it is convenient.

We enjoyed the walks on the beach and golf course and the breeze coming from the ocean. However, we did not see any turtle. As for room temperature, it was early February; we did not need to use A/C. Overall, we enjoyed the stay there.

"1-Star Unit Beware
This unit was a dump. I hated it so much that I moved out the next day even though I had planned to stay 2 weeks. It was dirty (hair on the carpet), the massage chair fabric was peeling, the bathrooms and kitchen had tons of ants and badly in need of an upgrade. The property manager was nice to give me a refund but told me that the unit was a 1-star. It's not clear on the website (since it's marked with one asterisk, not a star). So beware. "

"Beautiful area
The unit we stayed in was comfortable and has a relaxing atmosphere. We had a great time.

"Review of Estates at Turtle Bay.
We took a wrong turn getting there. We were told that Estates at Turtle Bay is not Turtle Bay Resort, so we drove by the entrance from the Highway to the Resort. Actually, you take the entrance, then turn left on the first side street.

The only problem was a missing drain plug in the bathtub. We had a 2-year-old who can't take showers, so it was important. It was solved by putting a plastic bag over the drain, and after sending an e-mail the manager showed up in less than a day with a plug.

When checking out, we went to the office at Kahuku. There are two offices in the same plaza, Estates at Turtle Bay and Turtle Bay Condominiums. We went to the wrong one, but they quickly directed us to the correct one. If you leave your keys in the drop box, they'll probably fix your mistake too.

Being from Canada, we are not used to the heat. (It was 23 degrees below zero when we left home.) We would have liked it if the ceiling fan over the bed blew a little faster. We couldn't find a speed setting for it.

These are all very minor issues, and we enjoyed our stay very much."

"Turtle bay
We stay at the condos almost every year this was the first time at this one! We booked last minute so there was little selection! It was OK but tons of ants, and could be a little cleaner!"

"Very Nice Place
Such a safe, cute spot to stay when vacationing on the North Shore!"
Jan 10, 2012 - Melissa H., Haleiwa, Hawaii

"148 East Estates at Turtle Bay
Overall a nice place to stay and in a good location. The only A/C is a small swamp-cooler in the living room that because of it's location on the ground in the corner only cools about 3 square feet of space. Other than that, the only air circulation is by opening the doors and from a few stand-alone circulating fans, so that was difficult. "
Apr 28, 2011 - Daniel B., Eugene, Oregon

"We enjoyed our stay at your property.
The only issue I had was that I thought our unit was on the bottom floor."
Apr 15, 2011 - Kenneth M., Lanai City, Hawaii

"everything was great but one thing...
this condo is great and has everything a family would need to vacation in hawaii. be sure to pack light because the condo does come with everything you will need. one bad thing that would make me hesitate to stay here again...the condo has lots of ants and our kids got bitten pretty badly overnight. we are unsure what bit them because while we expected mosquitos, we bug spray them pretty well. we don't like to think that the condo has fleas but that may be the case. if you don't mind bathing in bug spray nightly then this condo is perfect in every other ways."
Jan 04, 2011 - , fremont, ca

"Stove issue
The only problem we encountered was that a burner on the stove has problems. A couple of times it went to "high" regardless of the lower setting. The result was a couple of burned meals. It is most likely a worn-out heating element...or perhaps the control unit for the burner is going out. I've had a similar situation with my own stoves over the years, and know that it can usually be fixed rather inexpensively. Other than that, the unit was great!"

GREAT unit, would definitely rent this place again! Had a little panic attack with locking my bag & keys in the condo, but Cindy the resident manager came to my rescue. Thank you Cindy!"
Oct 27, 2010 - , Honolulu, HI

"Disappointed
Positives - New massage chair and computer. Negatives - Roaches, Ants everywhere, Washer broke for 3 days w/no compinsation, stairs leading to loft loose and breaking, fan in master bedroom squiks and loud, 2 dogs downstairs bark at 6am every morning, next to garbage and truck that comes 3 x's a week. I've stayed at 3 other condo's here and were all WAY better then this experience. Good Luck!"
Jun 21, 2010 - Chris O., Peoria, AZ

"Thanks we enjoyed our stay
Overall we were very happy with the accommodation. Everything that we expected was there and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. It was great being able to use the snorkelling equipment, body board etc at the property as well as the internet. Accomodation is only a short walk to Turtle Bay beach which was great & a perfect spot to explore the North Shore from. We would definetly stay here again. Was great value for a family stay. Thank you "
Jun 12, 2010 - Jared B., Whangaparaoa, Auckland

"
Everything was very old, carpet, funtiture, ect. The worst was the stairs going up to the loft, not safe, especially for toddlers. The carpet was really dirty along with layers of dust in the computer area and by the swamp cooler. We did however love the location. The beaches were immaculate. The best thing about the condo were the beds. They were very comfortable. We spent most of our time out because we didn't really feel very comfortable and relaxed in the condo. "
May 03, 2010 - , Centerville, UT

"Safety concern
Few descrepancies that concerned us, stairwell VERY weak, shakes as going up and down, broken bed screw that collapsed as my 40lb 5 year old son slept, dirty baby bottle left in the couch, dirty trash can, very smelly with oyster shells reaking in the can. TV in the master bedroom never worked. We have stayed in other properties before and in the future I would not recommend this unit to anyone till the repairs and improvements are done. Cleanliness is very important as well. "

"a nice, beautiful, home-like place for families
There are surfboards, snorkeling gears, chairs, umbrella, books, etc. almost everything you need for beaches in the has 5min walking distance to the beach, but the beach is not for surfing because of corals and, however, is perfect for snorkeling. I enjoyed watching the fish while snorkeling around the corals. I rated 4 stars for cleanness because the bed in the master bedroom was smelly, but the property generally was clean and neat."
Jan 04, 2010 - zheng h., Costa Mesa, CA

"
The master bedroom tv does not work (not important to us)
the microwave made the electricity flicker when it was in use.
Wonderful condo. would definitely stay here again."

"Could be better
Broken AC during extremey hot and humid period was unacceptable. AC could not be replaced because wiring was inadequate - a very unsafe condition. Management kindly moved us to another unit. "

We brought our three kids and it was a perfect place for our whole family.Beautiful grounds."

"WONDRFUL NORTH SHORE CONDO
This is an awesome place to stay if visiting the north shore of Oahu. Your only ohter choice are through Turtle Bay resort with a hotel room, cottage or villa - all way overpriced. This was such a wonderful place to stay. Very reasonably priced, lots of room and privacy in the condo, washer and dryer, full kitchen, lanai. WOW! I would defintitely stay here again. "
Mar 31, 2009 - , Douglas, WY

"
The only AC in this unit was not working properly. Unfortunately, only the fan settings worked and did not blow any cool/cold air. As a result, it was hot and quite uncomfortable at times. Thank goodness for the pool, which is very near. Other than that, everything else was fine and we still enjoyed our stay!"
Nov 03, 2008 - , Kapolei, HI.

"Roach Motel
We would definitely use The Estates at Turtle Bay, Inc., to book another condo at Turtle Bay. However, we would not book 148 East, as it was infested with roaches. I know this is not the norm with other units at Turtle Bay, as we have stayed in two other units. The staff at The Estates at Turtle Bay were very friendly and helpful, from booking the unit through checkout."
