Boasting both ocean & bay views of Trinidad Harbor and State Beach, this custom, contemporary home has vaulted ceilings, amazing artwork, and comfortable furnishings throughout. It is the perfect getaway for a large family gathering, 3 couples or a group of friends. This home is located in downtown Trinidad, and has the convenience of being located within a block to beaches and great Trinidad hiking trails.

Enter on lower level which has one bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom with shower. The upstairs includes living and dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, a sun-room w/ a Queen futon bed and two more bathrooms. The upstairs living/dining room offers an open floor plan that makes for easy entertainment. Cozy up by the gas fireplace while sitting inside watching the seascape all around or watch a movie on the large flat-screen T.V. Grill dinner on the propane barbecue and enjoy cocktails on the deck. Watch the sunset over the ocean while dining outside at the bistro table and chairs. The main suite offers a king bed, private balcony and main bathroom with shower and large bathtub. All of the bedrooms and sun-room have ocean views. The 3rd bathroom is just across the hall from these bedrooms and has a great walk-in shower. Sunset Vista is filled with beautiful photographic art taken from around the world. Radiant floor heating keeps this house comfortably warm. Sunset Vista is only 500 feet from Trinidad Harbor, pier and beach. This is a "no shoe" house which keeps it in pristine condition. Onsite parking available for up to 4 vehicles.

RESERVATION ALTERATIONS OPTIONS:
Guests cancelling less than 14 days to arrival may make a one time reservation date change for the same property, without a fee for the same calendar year, or renter may take a credit for a future stay at the same property, without a fee for the same calendar year. No rental refunds will be given for circumstances beyond our control such as planned or unexpected PG&E power outages, road closures, weather related issues or other “Acts of God”. When possible we will offer a one time reservation date change for the same property within the same travel season.

DAMAGE PROTECTION FEE: charges a $39 non-refundable damage protection fee. This fee protects guests for up to $500 in accidental damage that may include: stained bedding or linens; broken lamps, glassware and windows; damaged doors, walls or furniture; torn screen doors, etc. This fee does not cover normal wear and tear. After a guest’s departure and inspection of the home, management will notify the responsible party of any excessive damages including photos, a description of the damage and an assessment of the cost of replacing or repairing the damaged item that exceeds $500. Any cost over $500 required for this repair or replaced item will be charged to the credit card on file. We encourage guests to do a thorough inspection of the property upon arrival and notify management of any existing damages, stains, or broken items so as not to be held responsible.

COVID Related Cancellation - Cancellations made by either the guest or for any stays made after March 14, 2020 due to COVID-19 related circumstances such as: illness, transportation disruptions and cancellations; travel advisories and restrictions; health advisories and quarantines; changes to applicable law; and other government mandates—like evacuation orders, stay at home orders, border closures, prohibitions on short-term rentals, and shelter-in-place requirements will not be considered an extenuating circumstance and our cancellation policy will apply as usual. "Great Winter Stay in Trinidad
Overall, we had a great experience. Property management was very responsive when we had difficulty with the fireplace on our first night. They also responded promptly when the smoke detector needed a new battery. Some of the furniture (recliner in living room and wicker in owner’s bedroom) could be updated. The home has beautiful views of the ocean and is in a wonderful location."

"Lovely stay, great location and views!
Trinidad is precious and this stay is very comfortable and offers extravagant views of the ocean both to the South and West. Walls are adorned with very large, but tasteful photographs by the owner.

Only complaints: 1) TV and other technology are outdated, 2) the managers/owners haven't broken from the unfortunate norm in vacation rental industry of insisting the guest do a bunch of chores before they leave (in addition to paying a cleaning fee). I REALLY dislike that practice and encourage you to inquire about this policy before booking your stay (maybe they will change it)."

"Excellent location but needs an update to the kitchen wares
We had a family getaway here and the location and views are fantastic but the kitchen is stocked like a college sophomore’s hand me downs. I literally bent a knife trying to cut smoked salmon. If they updated their kitchen supplies this place would be A+. Without that there aren’t many places to eat in town and it’s tough to cook there."

"Great location!
We always go to Trinidad every year. This was the first time we rented a house in town. We loved the Sunset Vista house! It is so close to the beach and the Eatery! We loved being able to walk or ride our bikes to everything.
The kitchen is very equipped with everything you need to cook. The beds are very comfortable also. All the decks have beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets.
We will definitely come back to the sunset vista house! Next time it will be longer! "

"Lovely Home but needs some updates
I have stayed at this home before. While this home is in a perfect location and has plenty of room for individuals to have privacy, the owners need to do a few updates. The floors in the kitchen have a lot of dark marks that need either cleaning or replace the flooring.
We found after arriving that there weren't any scissors or tissue. After calling Hope, we found a pair of scissors and 2 boxes of tissues on the front doorstep. There also were not many cooking supplies. There was a box of flaked salt, but not salt in the salt shaker and very little pepper in the pepper shaker (both were very dirty and needed to be cleaned).I would not say that this house was "well appointed" as we had the first time we rented it. The knives were dull and needed to be sharped. There were only 5 coffee mugs which meant we needed to wash and rewash coffee mugs. There was only shampoo in the master bathroom and no conditioner. Overall, the house needs to be gone through and supplied with tissue and some extra soap. We ran out of dish soap the last day. There wasn't any extra under the sink. The light green carpet is starting to look a bit worn. Also, the glass on the fireplace was very dirty.
There needs to be a note that you have your own garbage collectors. We were confused by the notes in the book. We ran out of room in the garbage can after only putting on bag of garbage in the container.
Also, the bottom door lock did not work. We never were able to use it to enter, because it would not open.
Again, I believe this house needs a good "going through" and it needs more supplies. For the price, it also needs some new bedspreads. "

Great views, warm fireplace, close to beach, 25 minutes from Lady Bird Johnson Grove. Reverse osmosis water on a separate tap in the kitchen and all bathrooms. Internet is good - if necessary, you can connect directly to the router in the hallway closet, but the WiFi is adequate throughout most of the house. Nice comforters on all the beds."

We were lucky to get this beautiful home by calling Trinidad Retreats directly. This house is right at Trinidad beach with gorgeous views of the water to the north and south. Very comfortable, well equipped and roomy. Within walking distance of beaches, meadows, redwoods and cute town, good restaurant— Seascape just steps down a sweet path. Great care taken by the rental agency and local business regarding Covid 19. The folks at Trinidad retreats super helpful and took care of minor problem (broken coffee maker) immediately. Replaced with a new one at the doorstep! We had a great vacation and will be back. "

It was a wonderful experience. Fantastic views from the front and back side of the house to both trinidad Bay and the Trinidad beach. everything was in the house, fully stocked. I like how I did not even have to go to the market for simple things like salt or aluminum foil.

Wifi kept my teenage grandkids occupied when we were not out hiking. Fully accesaable to all the forests. Trinidad is truly one of the best locations, and with local shops, market and resturants in walking distance.

Great split level house, two streets over from the ocean. House was clean and well equipped from the kitchen to the bedrooms. The king sized bed was appreciated in the master, although the sheets were thin and you could feel and hear the "plastic sheet," under the fitted sheet, which was unpleasant. Also, there is a tv receiver in the master that kept turning on and off during the night, which interrupted sleep. Aside from those small issues, the four of us enjoyed the house, and walk ability to the beach and town. Would return."

A flawless rental experience with a few perks like hot water outside for the rinse your feet faucet. Well laid out house outfitted for the rental business with a perfect location for beach access. I especially appreciated a blanket on the master bed vs. a duvet which I find too hot. Short of a salad spinner, the kitchen was well equipped with new appliances and plenty of pots, plates and stemware. Nice big outdoor gas grill. Well managed by Trinidad Retreats. I had high expectations for this rental and they were met."

"Beautiful Trinidad
We love this part of California, and this trip was as wonderful as ever. We celebrated a family birthday, and I can't think of a lovelier place to do it. We were grateful for the special help with a package that needed delivery. The weather was amazing, much to our surprise, and we hadn't seen that many stars in many, many years. The only suggestion I would make is to add a good frying pan with a level bottom to the kitchen supplies."

We have been going to Trinidad for our annual girls trip for over 20 years. We initially started camping at Patrick's Point, but about 10 years ago we started renting houses with Trinidad Retreats. 100% certain we will return. The house was amazing. Great location and truly breath taking views from all windows. We had four adults and four kids. The teenage boys enjoyed privacy of the downstairs room. And I enjoyed the fact they had their own bathroom. Kitchen well stocked, could perhaps use a new coffee pot and pans, but that's just nit picking. Plenty of silverware, bowls and knives. We also bought a few plastic cups for the little ones. I thought the linens were a nice quality and felt comfortable with the cleanliness. The absolute only teeny drawbacks were: the mini blinds were a bit tricky, couldn't find garbage bags, not totally sure the trash compactor even works and there is no pantry space for food. I would recommend they put a small shelving unit or bookshelf the top of the landing and that problem is solved. K that's all. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this home. "

my four daughters, their 2 husbands and I took a week long vacation here. Everyone had privacy when they wanted it a d the nice big kitchen and living room made it fun to be all together too. We could walk downtown or to the beach in 2-3 minutes.

"Weekend Get Away
This property is amazing! The home and the view are just beautiful! The pictures of the home were nice but in person…..the views are spectacular! The home has this wonderful display of artwork in every room and it really added to the beauty of the home. The kitchen/living area are open and bright and the windows in the home really allow maximum viewing of the ocean. The location was perfect ….the only problem was that we did not book the place for longer. :) "

My husband and I and our kids had a great experience in our stay in the beautiful, quaint town of Trinidad. The house has to great view of the ocean to look out everyday. So after great days of hiking in the redwoods we were able to sit back and relax and enjoy the view of the ocean. Well equipped kitchen for those of that like to cook. Could have used a apron:)"

"Great Place With Some Constructive Criticism
We had our Thanksgiving vacation here. The location is great. The house had the best fully stocked kitchen in any rental in my experience. The house had a couple of quirks to it, though. First, we had no internet connection for the first 2 days which is critical for us who work 24/7. Second, there were several rooms the owner made unavailable to the renters. This was not a huge deal, but you should tell the prospective renters this fact. In addition, the owner should let the renters use at least 1 of the 2 garages. Its rains alot in Trinidad and would be nice to have a garage plus an area to store your things. Lastly, the main door would not open from the outside so you have to go to another door, and then walk around to the stairs. Not a big deal, but the door should open. "

"Beautiful views, comfortable, clean and modern home
We had a wonderful time staying here! The house was well located in town- within walking distance of the dock/beach/water as well at restaurants including The Eatery, which is one of our favorites!

The house was modern, clean and well equipped. The only real downside was that they have blocked off lots of the storage cabinet knobs with zip ties so they can't be opened, which wouldn't be a big deal unless, like us, you had a full house and were cooking lots. There wasn't enough space besides the huge fridge to store food. Also, we would have liked to have access to the garage, which was also sealed off, as was a couple of extra rooms downstairs (there were still 4 bedrooms and 3 baths open, but there were more rooms in the house- presumably for the owners things).

Overall, it was a fabulous home and great place to stay."

It was a great weekend for my daughters graduation and we enjoyed Trinidad. Our only complaint/recommedation is that it would be nice if one of the rooms had two single beds rather than all doubles. It would have worked better since we older kids who don't want to share beds anymore."

Hi, I already did a review like this about a week ago. Did you receive it? Anyway, my family and I love this house. We rented it about 3 or 4 years ago and I'm sure we will be back again. The current management company is more responsive and better organized than the old one. The only suggestion I can make is regarding the towels. My wife was a little confused about what to do with them. For consistency, you may want to handle the towels the same way you handle linen. "
