We were in Kauai for a wedding and the unit was satisfactory. The Plantations location was convenient, but the unit itself was outdated, but spacious and comfortable. The dishwasher smelled bad, and therefore all the dishes had to be washed by hand. The unit is an easy walk to the pool. A/C was unexpected, very nice, although very loud. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms excellent."

"Nice Property but Traffic Noise
Vey nice property with lots of extra kitchen appliances. Roomy. But the NOISE! Constant traffic noise from being located just a few feet from busy intersection. Patio is unuasable due to noise. Can't open windows due to noise. A/C only cools living room and one bedroom. Other bedroom is uncooled."

"Could be better. Needs a little TLC.
Our rental was fine - great location. Was not confident in its cleanliness - cupboards smelled like fish (had to wash the glasses and cups before we could use them because of the smell. Kitchen cabinets could use an upgrade. They are falling apart. Drains did not drain well at all, could use new towels as many of them had stains, and the TV didn't work properly. After contacting the rental agency someone came out to address the TV and its remotes but we never got the issue resolved while we were there. "

What an amazing way to experience northern Kauai! The condo is beautiful and comes with all of the beach stuff you could ever need. The garage was a great little extra. Even though it is on a corner, we couldn't hear the traffic at all.

Our Princeville stay was spectacular. We drove over 400 miles on Kauai the 5 days we were there and found The North side to be our favorite part of the island. "Good things/not so good things about condo & experience
I mailed the property manager a personal letter, giving this condo a review, as well as some inconveniences we experienced on our stay. However, to date, I've yet to receive any reply. The condo itself and location were what we desired, but minor problems hampered our stay of 8 days. No hot water, stove didn't work (until we reset the breakers), dryer vent not hooked up, so clothes took very long time to dry; TV remotes didn't work correctly, door leading into condo from garage couldn't lock, carpet dirty, covers on furniture dirty, scuff marks on walls. These were just some of the issues we faced and my letter to the property manager was done to perhaps save future renters any problems. This place needs regular maintenance to ensure that all things work correctly before someone rents this place. I would have recommended this place to a friend, but after not even bothering with replying to me after I sent the personal letter, I feel that if one can't be bothered to take the time to respond, then so be it."

"Comfortable Condo
We enjoyed our stay in this rental. It's in a beautiful but busy area, and just down the street from a grocery store, gas station, etc. The neighborhood is very walkable and there is a long path along the golf course across the street. The condo is roomy, the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Our property manager was readily available and took care of a few minor issues immediately. Some of the patio furniture needs to be replaced, but that was not a big issue for us."

Incredible weather and very nice location. Home was Very clean, nicely stocked for water toys. Clean bright rooms. moved some extra furniture to the spare bedroom. Nice and quiet (road noise was not an issue). Will stay here again. Outdoor deck was great, you could always find some sun."

"A Great Place To Stay!
All around great experience. Centrally located for most of what we wanted to do. ’s not really that long of a drive to the South shore. Hanalei Hill repairs squelched our runs into Hanalei, but we planned those times for Sunday when access was more available! Hanalei is worth the wait time in line!
BBQ was clean and nice to have right by the pool. Plenty of beach towels, chairs etc. Good kitchen set up. Surprisingly quiet evenings.
The tub in the master bath is not easy to get in and out of, but with help it wasn’t a problem. The tub did offer a perfect relaxing spot after a long day in the sun! Photo ops everywhere around the property. Beautiful mountain views.
The management company was very friendly and helpful to answer any questions we had. Easy in and out."

"Ohana Vacation
We had a great time & staying in the condo was nice. The unit was on the first floor & nice as we didn’t have to walk upstairs. My wife has to use a cane & couldn’t do it. There was some noise( footsteps) from the unit upstairs. That was annoying at night when trying to sleep. Design of the unit was nice., but the furnishings were very outdated. They need to refurbish as it felt like we were walking into the 60’s. A new dining set that fits the room, remove the rug under the dining table as it bunches up & hard to straighten out. Sofa was comfortable. Get matching chairs for living room & side table. In Master, get rid of shower curtain dividing bathroom & bedroom. Put in a barn door. Put in comfort toilets in the bathrooms. This is how it can be brought up to date. Other than that, kitchen was furnished well. The beds were comfortable. We did have a wonderful time. We could stay again, if updated."

We got to the condo and there was no washer and dryer, very much needed for my family ( but the remax owner picked our laundry up and washed it. It was very nice just not as convenient as a washer and dryer like we were told. Garage door opener didn’t work, they fixed it. WiFi didn’t work was given wrong password, but they fixed it. Appliances need work. No water pressure. Hair in bed and on table. Smelt like it was closed up for awhile, when we got there smelt like mold. Overall it was good. Just a lot of complaints at first. "

Nice property but wow, there were a lot of rules! Re/Max was great in terms of handling the whole experience which was seamless. A couple of comments about the property though that may be just foibles. The bathtub in the master is extremely hard to get in and out of as a short person. There is no handrail and I think this presents a safety issue. Kitchen is a little tight for two people to move around but is well - stocked with pots and pans and utensils. Overall, good experience though and I would recommend this property to other families with older children."

"Kauai with the chickens as breakfast companions
The condo was great, I loved sitting on the lanai drinking my coffee and doing my Bible study with my breakfast companions, the chickens. This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this area and I would recommend it to anyone. Having a private garage to park the rental car was wonderful. The accommodations were very comfortable and the kitchen was great for cooking dinner. Being able to wash clothes allow us to pack less and that is always a plus. "

"Spacious unit with everything you need for a relaxing vacation
This unit is very spacious and clean. I loved the location, close to beaches and shops, and all the light in the unit, both day and night. We used our Netflix account with the TV and enjoyed our favorite programs and movies in the evening. The pool and the hot tub were great, and we enjoyed them every day during our stay. We also used the grill for our dinner. The master bathroom is huge with a table for extra counter space. The kitchen is functional. The unit provided boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers and other fun things and plenty of beach towels you will enjoy and appreciate at the beach. We also used the washer/dryer. The beds are soft and comfortable. I was surprised, though, not to find salt and pepper in the cupboard which I think are basic at a place with a full kitchen. I brought other spices for cooking but not salt or pepper. I immediately picked them up at a store and left them for future renters. I found kitchen supplies to be a little tight. We stayed for 9 nights and only 3 dishwashing pods were provided. We also wished there were more garbage bags. I cooked most of our meals at the condo, and it might have been a matter of a simple request with the management company. Some of the plates have cracks, and the cutting knives are dull. The A/C and ceilings fans were wonderful. One thing future renters may need to know is that the second bedroom doesn't have an A/C vent. A box fan is provided to fan cool air into the bedroom, but it means you can't close the door. My two adult daughters didn't mind leaving the door open, but it may not be ideal for couples who want more privacy. We had a wonderful stay and want to come back. "

"Opinion on #111
The VRBO #111 was not everything we had hoped. The condo was spacious, clean, and the comfortable to a point. Advertised as A/C and that was not exactly true. There is a vent and a large cold air return in the kitchen area and you need both to work, No other vents in the condo meaning if you want air you have to keep all the interior doors open. The owners have a nice property but they cannot decide if they want to use it as a business or their private home. Everything is covered! Sofa, living room chair, all tables and dressers, upholstered chairs in dining room are covered with mismatch cushions that are worn and faded, table is covered with table cloth that matches nothing. There is new carpet, light cream. In a rental, what were they thinking? At every edge of the carpet there are carpet runners that are cheep and curling at the corners and edges, I can not tell you how many times they caused us to trip. Plastic runners In some areas. Patio furniture was dirty and I had to clean before using the glass top table, flooring had not been cleaned so it was covered with bird and chicken poop. Needless to say we stayed there very little. We made coffee in the morning but ate every meal out. A previous reviewer was charged $500 for a TV that did not work after their vacation was over. I would have protested that charge to the very end! Most things in this condo looks like a castoff from somewhere else. If the A/C does not work next week is that my fault? Unless a football was thrown through the TV screen or was turned over how do you know that it did not just DIE. Bedspreads are extremely faded, M Bedroom spread and pillow shams do not match or are close to the same color, nor does the curtain that divide the bedroom from the bath match. Two busy roads on two sides and the 1st unit to development. Very noisy! This is not a 5 Star!"

"Princeville Kauai 2019 Vacation
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this property. The location is great. The unit is spacious, has air conditioning, a garage and a pool. The grounds are beautiful and neighbours friendly. Sherrie the property manager was great at getting us on a tube tour we wanted to check out. The interior is a little dated, but had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time at different beaches - all were great. Our family enjoyed surfing and snorkelling Hanalei Bay."

We were pleased with the condo generally- loved the view. The corner was quite noisy but we got used to it. There were a number of small things that needed repair but nothing that impacted the pleasure of our holiday. The place was very clean. We needed help twice from the property management company during our stay- both times they were pleasant and professional in their response. "

"Princeville Stay
This was our second time staying at the Plantations @ Princeville. We were very happy with the accommodations. The unit was in an excellent location and had a fully stocked kitchen. The only thing missing was a second hairdryer in the hall bathroom. We had a blast on the mountain tubing activity and also took SUP lessons. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Hope to be back in 2020."

"Lovely Condo in a Great Location
We originally booked another home and worked with the management company to move to this home. We found, for our personal needs, a home with A/C was critical as it was unseasonably warm and humid. This home is bright, even with the blinds drawn and we loved sitting outdoors on the lanai in the morning having our coffee. The other home we had rented did not have access to a pool and this was also critical to the success of our family stay with our children and grandchild. Our only negative pertained to the lack of attention to the items working in the home. We had to contact the management company because there was only one steak knife, one large-very dull- large knife, warped pans that needed to be replaced, and multiple appliances in non working order. We were immediately brought replacement items but appliances never worked properly during our stay. The microwave start button didn't work, the stove top only worked on high, the toaster oven was missing the rack and only the bottom worked burning toast on the bottom and leaving the top uncooked. The coffee maker didn't have an auto off and the stopper was broken so the first morning we had coffee running all over the counter top. We loved the fact that we could put in our Netflix account and could walk down to the St Regis. We did spend a lot of time at Anini Beach which was perfect for our 13 month old, and found Kalipso, Ama and Dolphin Restaurants excellent and very kid friendly. The home was very clean, well equipped with beach towels and chairs. We would recommend this home to friends but hope the management company fixes the broken items for other guests."

"Unit partially air conditioned, responsive management
The Good: great management and responsive; the AC in the master bedroom and living room; laundry in unit; water/wake boards, towels. The Not So Good: no AC in 2nd bedroom (no box fan as referenced in notebook when you get into unit)’; kitchen stove top looks a bit worn, as are most of the pots and pans (they don’t sit flush with the elective stove so sort of tough to cook; busy corner lot so it’s impossible to keep screens and windows open without feeling like you are on a busy road (which you are). Overall, a good experience, though, for the rates charged. You are close to a FoodLand, Queens Bath hike (you don’t have to drive to golf course to park, but we went the wrong way based on google maps, drove there, parked there, and then when we left, realized we were two blocks away (that’s operator error not property owner error). We enjoyed our stay and cant’ speak high enough about the great management of the property"

"Very nice apartment.
This is a very nice apartment. Clean, and kept in very good condition. It has all the amenities you could need. We loved the fact that it came with a starter selection of the usual household goods (dish soap, washing powder, toilet roll, tin foil etc) and it was very useful having some beach equipment in the garage (body boards, umbrella, chairs etc). The kitchen was well equipped (it even had a kettle, which seems very rare in the US, but much appreciated by us British Tea drinkers) and the washer/dryer was well used after hiking in the muddy Kauai hilly.
A combination of the AC and ceiling fans/windows was just about enough to keep the apartment at a comfortable temperature.
The pool is nice, although the rules are a little strict for my liking, no jumping, horseplay, ball games, snorkelling etc, and threating fines for disobedience. It felt like they were trying to make it calm pool for adults, whereas I wanted the pool for my kids to play in. Other families seemed to ignore the rules anyway. I also felt the 9am opening was a little late, perhaps because we came from a different timezone and our kids were up by 6am every morning!
The area is really nice, you can walk to the local supermarket, a very well stocked Foodland. There are a few restaurants in walking distance, although we didn't eat in any as they all opened a little later for our family.
The road was a little noisy with the windows open, but it wasn't a real issue.
I would definitely return here if I ever get the chance to get to Kauai again.

"Clean with Everything
The location was great and the place clean. Beach towels, chairs, and body boards were available. The neighborhood was peaceful and the driveway and garage were huge amenities to have. Air conditioning worked great (most places do not have AC!).There is some street noise from the main road in the back and the water pressure is low in this area. These are nit picky things to mention because they did not take away from the location and well maintained condo. I felt it should be noted for those expecting perfection (This place is as close as it gets, we have been to Kauai multiple times). We will book this place again."

We had a great stay. The place was well equipped for our family of four and the beds were great! The condo is in need of a few updates (sliding doors that don’t slide, blinds that we didn’t allow the kids to adjust for fear of breaking them,a very fussy dishwasher and poor water pressure in the showers) but overall in good condition.
However it was clean and as pictured in its ad.
The biggest down fall to this unit was the location in relation to a busy street. The street noise was constant, daysnd night. If you are a light sleeper it is a big downfall."

"Right near the golf club
A well eqipped unit. The beach gear was a bonus & very handy when visiting the beaches. The unit was right next to the golf course. As it was on the corner the traffic morning & night was noisy. The outlook over the mountains was magificent especially after the rain as lots of waterfalls. You need transport to stay there. There is a path to the village about a 25min walk. Very comfortable. "

"The Good and the Bad
It was noisy from traffic and the drain system in both shower needed to be clean( i personal clean it myself but needs attention) . Water pressure seam to be low if both showers are in operation. Otherwise the condo was okay if you're not in the condo. One thing that the shower head in the guess room was ready to fall off so I had to tighten it. "

"Great Condo!
Alhoa! I recently stayed here for 10 days and this condo was awesome! It was super cute and super clean. The lanai was perfect for sitting outside and eating a wonderful breakfast while listening to the birds chirp. The amenities were great too. It was nice not having to rent or buy beach items after arrival. The only issue I had was the air conditioning wasnt working properly the last few days of my stay. Luckily I wasnt at the condo frequently over those days to make it unbearable. Overall this was the perfect condo for what I was looking for, and I'd certainly recommend it to anyone staying on the north shore! Mahalol!"

We had a great time staying on the north side of Kauai! This condo is in a perfect location. Close to some amazing beaches and short drive to others. Close to grocery and shopping as well as trails for running/walking. Quiet considering it's a resort area and very safe and friendly. Our condo had everything we needed. We felt very much at home, beds were super comfortable, huge master suite, and kids loved their room with 2 double beds. Loads of room and stocked with everything for entertaining and beach days??"

"Cute Beachy Condo
My family and I really did like the look of this condo. The decor is quaint and there are many good books about the island in the bookshelf. The beds were all pretty comfortable and the bathrooms are nice and big. The downside to this rental is that the dishes were not cleaned properly. The dishwasher did not properly clean the dishes and the pans in the cupboard were scratched theplon or some non cast iron type. I was excited to have a dishwasher as i do not have one at home but unfortunantley eneded up washing dishes on my vacation."

"Pfeifer Family Vacation at Plantations # 111
My rental vacation stay was nice. We did however experience a slow clogged guest bath tube, rather large **** roaches in kitchen and guest restroom ( due to filthiness)there were wet dishes put away in kitchen closets and wet towels in bathroom closets, rear door leading to garage had screws and bolts coming out of lower portion of door frame and the worst of all the over freezing of AC Unit. AC unit would freeze over everyday and heat up home to over 81 degrees. hotter inside then outside. We had maintenance man out and he removed an extremely dirty filter from AC and after it had drained water all over floor, unit was turned back on by maintenance man. There continued to be problems with AC Unit. I wouldn't recommend unit to people with small kids because unit is not kid friendly. This was the best vacation ever. My husband and I and a couple of friends stayed for only a week. We so enjoyed our stay and everything was provided. The condo was beautiful and the view.....wow the view. It was very comfortable. The managers were very nice and accommodating. We needed to have a late check out and this was so nice."

The condo and the area was amazing! The ReMax Concierge Service was terrible. Received an email from the Concierge saying if I needed any help with activities to send them an email, so I did. Three weeks went by not a peep, not even a hey we received your email and we are working on it. Three days before departure received an email from Concierge saying we arranged your activities for you please send credit card information. They didn't even say what they arranged or how much it was going to cost me. "

"Getaway for Two
This space was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. The owners provided a starter kit of paper towels, soaps, toilet paper; as well as a well stocked kitchen with all the tools one could need.
The space was clean and tidy. Neighbors/other guests in the area were friendly and quiet. The spot was perfect for any couple looking to get away from the noise and still be walking distance to a collection of shops one direction and the beach the other. This is also located across the street from an amazing golf course.
After booking my trip through flipkey and trip advisor I'm confident I won't need to book any more vacations through a hotel in the future. Especially those vacations on the islands.
The Plantation is an amazing rental location and we will most likely be using this spot again in the future as well as recommending this location to others! "

"Great place!
This was our first time renting a condo instead of getting a hotel and honestly we didn't know what to expect. This place in Plantations was really great though! It was really big, had a garage, really comfortable beds and furniture, washer dryer. They also had cable (HD) and a flat screen tv and great wifi for streaming. It was a really great place to come back to after being at the beach. Plus, the pool, hot tub, and fitness room in the community were a great way to pass some of the rain that came. Location is great, about 10 or so minutes from Hanalei Bay. We talked about staying here again with some friends next time we are on the island. Not to mention, the price was great!"

"Condo Needs Personal Touches & Updates
We've stayed in Plantations before, but direct from a condo owner, so can attest to far better options than Unit #111. This unit has no character, no pictures on walls, no decor at all - aside from the turtle shown on the coffee table. The annoying overuse of vinyl tablecloths everywhere was bizarre. In the guest bedroom, the dresser had a kitchen themed cloth reflecting spices. In the living room, there were lace cloths that snagged on everything. The couch and chair are beyond uncomfortable. The cushions are so soft, you sink in and it is difficult to sit upright. The location description is misleading. Yes, the unit is on the corner - of TWO main streets. The major one leads to other condos and the St. Regis. At night, constant headlights easily penetrate the blinds in the guest bedroom. The other street is how you access Plantations and a neighboring development. We noticed on weekends, high volume of traffic on both roads was common, not slowing down until around midnight. We didn't bother using the porch because of the traffic, and filthy furniture. In addition to the two metal chairs and table, there were also two white, plastic chairs as well. These were covered in filth, not inviting at all. Cleanliness of the actual condo was off as well. For the most part, bathrooms were clean (toilets, baths), but the guest bath sink had toothpaste all over it. Kitchen was decent, except the oven door was disgusting - as was the inside. Based on hearing traffic majority of the time, and having to clean a few areas ourselves, along with lacking a usable porch - we would not stay in this unit again."

"Simply Paradise
Our honeymoon stay at this condo was perfect! The view is absolutely breathtaking. We ate lunch on the patio everyday and felt very secluded by the hedges of flowers. The furniture and kitchen are all very new. I was especially happy with the master bathroom which was enormous including a double sink, soaking tub, and separate room for the toilet. We loved having a garage attached to the condo and used the beach equipment we found there. We also used the Netflix. The only negative was that we never received an email with the check in information so when we arrived at 11 pm we had to track down the owner's number and get the key code. "

"Newer Princeville Location with A/C
I would definitely recommend the Plantations #111 condo! It is newer, light, spacious with large master bedroom. Beautiful views of the mountains and I could even see a couple of waterfalls off the mountain while sitting at the dining table. There are nice amenities like boogie board, beach towels, umbrella and sand toys. The washer/dryer are a huge benefit and I would throw a load of beach towels and swim suits in every night. The pool and hot tub are nice and the exercise room looked good although we never used it.
Two minor negative points is that it being on the main street on Princeville and it being on the bottom floor, there was enough noise we didn't want to open the windows but it was definitely quiet enough with the windows closed and with the A/C we didn't need it opened. (Also some slight noise from upstairs unit like toilet and shower mostly.) Secondly, however, the A/C is just in the master bedroom and kitchen/living room area. The second bedroom did not have A/C and it did get a bit warm with the windows closed (which we did because of the noise). There was also a cat that came around and I really don't care for cats so one more reason to not open the doors. "

Our family of 5 stayed here for 15 nights. The place was clean, and had everything we needed. It was very handy to have the garage so close to the kitchen when unloading groceries. It was sometimes noisy (street noise) if that's a factor for some. But overall we highly recommend this place."

The condominium is older but nicely and recently updated. Well equipped and excellent location on the north shore of Kauai. Be aware that this unit is right on a busy intersection and traffic noise is very apparent. If you are seeking peace and quiet in Kauai this may not be the place for you. The coffee maker will only accommodate up to 4 cups and should be upgraded. Overall, this property represents a good value. "

"Princeville condo
The condo had everything we needed, brand new, most of it, so it worked fine for us. It was lacking in personality, though. There were no pictures on the wall, no bookcase of books to look at. The corner location with all the traffic was not ideal, workable, but not peaceful. Princeville weather was very spotty, lots of cool, windy, cloudy days. Great weather for hiking. We drove to Kapaa or further south most days to find a sunny beach. The main road into Princeville is atrocious, lumpy, bumpy, full of potholes. You would think with all the homeowners fees, it would be much better kept.
Angela Pycha with Remax was very helpful when we missed our plane (the highway closed due to an accident) and had to stay a couple extra days. Thanks, Angela.
All in all, despite a few bumps we loved our vacation! Oregon could use some work though!"

First of all let me say that the Remax family felt like family from the first moment we spoke to the. Our plans changed due to the hurricane. However everyone did everything to make our stay seamless. We had personal cell numbers that they answered and helped us. We trusted them from the get go. Cannot say enough about the condo as well.
