"Beautiful View
Very happy with the improvements in bathrooms, excellent walk in shower in master bath. Only gave 3 stars on cleanliness b/c room needed more attention I took it upon myself to do it. The property is 5 stars."

"Great
We had a fun time. There were a few pluming issues. The water was very slow and at times had no pressure. And the kitchen sink wouldn't stop leaking. But other than that we had a great time. "

"Oceanview Getaway
We have been going to St. Augustine for the past 3 years and have finally found our home away from home for a couple months out of the cold winter weather in northern NY. The location of Colony Reef Club is great. Within walking distance of a few good restaurants. Grocery stores close by. There are also some nice golf courses in the area to choose from. The staff at Colony Reef are very friendly and helpful. The grounds and the complex are clean. The view from our condo was amazing. Never gets old looking out at the ocean every day. Almost daily beach walks were very nice and relaxing. Again we are so excited to have found our winter getaway for the next several years God willing."

"Relaxing and Fun!
We had a great time! The sunrises were exceptional! Our kids and Grandkids enjoyed the the beach, pool and playground. We're planning on returning again next year. "

"Great view!
The condo was as expected, a little outdated but clean. What makes this unit is the view. Amazing Ocean View as well as the pool. I didn't like the carpeting in the bedrooms but again, we knew this going into our week.

I have been coming to Colony Reef the last 6 years and have always had a great experience. However, this year there were a few things that made my husband and I rethink if we want to come back again. There was a water shut off for most of the day due to a concrete leak. They posted the sign and although bothersome, we understood. Since we have five kids, we planned that day to go into town instead of the beach so we lost the beach day. 2 days later, there was no notice posted and we are woken up at 8:30 in the morning to Jack hammering and the water was again shut off. This was definitely annoying as we couldn't use toilets or anything and I had grumpy kids on my hands. For the first time ever, the pool was not available outside to swim after dark. My kids and I loved doing those late night swims and this was a huge disappointment. We heard because the lighting wasn't up to code and this is something that definitely needs to get fixed and I hope it does before next year. We also learned they changed the security. The guard was extremely harsh. Anytime my kids would dip their toes in the hot tub, he would come barreling out and continue to watch all of us and it was very uncomfortable. I understand he's just doing his job but it was way Overkill. Taking all those things into account, made our stay less than Stellar this year. My husband's family has been coming for over 40 years. We rented four units this year and are going to possibly look around to go somewhere else if some of these things remain the same. On a positive note, the boardwalk was redone and is beautiful. It makes walking down to the beach with all of our stuff so much easier."

"Good location
The location and general property are good. The condo is in need of toutine maintenance and updating. Light bulbs were burned out, table lamp and the ceiling fan on the using room did not work at all. Rust in the kitchen sink and a leaky kitchen faucet. The carpet felt filthy. I would return to colony reef but not this unit"

"Fall in St. Augustine
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. As in previous reviews the unit is dated. The furniture is worn but very comfortable. Construction on the boardwalk started a bit earlier than we expected and was quite loud the first couple of days. We did have a 3 day Nor'easter come through and there were some pretty bad leaks. Maintenance was very quick to get us buckets and towels to catch the leaks. "

"Fun in the sun.
Enjoyed it much as usual. No complaints."

"The view is worth it
The views trump the condo. We loved being ocean front. The unit is fine and comfortable. The master bed was very comfy. The dryer needs replacing or serviced as it does not dry the clothes well. We definitely would stay again"

"We love our Colony Reef vacations!
We have stayed at this condo building previously. We enjoy the property and location. We have even stayed in this same condo previously, and knew that it was a Bronze unit that is not upgraded. We were disappointed to find many of the dishes in the cabinets dirty with food residue, the ceiling fans are unbalanced and some unable to be adjusted. This trip we also had issues with some of the appliances. Thankfully the management was able to get a repair company out to get the refrigerator working better during our stay.
I would recommend some maintenance to this unit to make it more comfortable for future guests. Otherwise, it met our expectations. "

"Million Dollar View
1303 was a homey unit with a feeling of family which boasts the most wonderfully open view of the ocean!! The furniture and bed are very comfortable. Even though not updated, the kitchen is well stocked for cooking in! We enjoyed a family reunion for a week of sharing and sightseeing! Coming to beaches frequently, though most accommodations at St. Augustine are older, we enjoy the beach! Also, the grounds are well maintained. Colony Reef is definitely due for updating exteriorly..concrete and elevator needs! This unit was clean but the bedroom carpet is so worn it seems to be filthy! Hating to make any negative remark, I definitely would change out that carpet! It was a wonderful, relaxing stay."

"Winter in Fla
This was my wife's and my third year of staying at Colony Reef during the winter months. This is a well-maintained and professionally managed condo association near to downtown. The administrative staff is responsive and friendly. St. Augustine is a charming city with an unmatched (U.S.) history, excellent restaurants and music scene. It's local colleges and the county library system round out the experience. "

"We love Colony Reef
We vacation in St Augustine for a week each summer. Beginning in the mid-nineties. We have been renting At Colony Reef since 2006 or 2007 and continuously to present and have made reservations for 2020."

"Wonderful Easter 2019 Getaway
Our family of 4 had a wonderful Easter vacation in Condo 1303. You just can't beat the view!!! Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean was rejuvenating. We knew going in that the kitchen was a little outdated, but that was not a problem and was fully stocked with everything we needed when we cooked in. 3 bedrooms/2 baths was just enough room for us to spread out, but enjoy family time together and play games. Wish we didn't have to leave. "
May 04, 2019 - Amy G., Portville, NY

"Happy at Colony Reef

"We Keep Coming Back
Our family has been renting here for well over a decade, BUT, I guess we wont be back ! The condo was rented out from under us before we could make our reservation for next year. The security people were much better this year, and the property looked great as always. I did hate to see the 2 dogs that were swimming in the pool and hanging out at the pool deck on Tuesday night. The boards on the deck to the beach, many need to be replaced."
Aug 08, 2018 - , Jacksonville, FL

"snowbird1
We stayed 1 month in a 3rd floor condo that had a nice OCEAN view with adequate living area space and a large balcony.
Interior furnishings were retro and showed wear. Old microwave, worn plumbing fixtures, and older cabinetry that had number of areas that had not been cleaned. Carpet in bedrooms was older and would be better as hardwood for cleaner maintenance.
Understandably some damage was a result of hurricane.
Staff was friendly, but social activity was lacking.
