Eagle's Landing has been a fulfillment of God's promises to us. It is our goal (and hope) that your time in our little slice of heaven will restore your soul, rejuvenate your body and your relationships.
This beautiful, spacious 4 bedroom home sits right on the beach on Don Pedro Island! The open floor plan provides amazing views of the kids on the beach, the dolphins and the sunsets. You walk into a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, more Tupperware than you could ever need and a large breakfast bar. The living and dining area are situated beachside so that you can enjoy the views from the confortable seating and glass tables and walk directly onto the screened in porch. This porch is perfect for breakfasts, reading a book, watching the ocean or the children while staying out of the sun. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs: one is queen bedded with double closets and the second is twin bedded. (This bedding can be converted to a king bed). The downstairs bath has a huge walk-in shower. Perfect for quick showers for the kids before dinner...we've had up to 6 kids in it at once!
Upstairs you will find the amazing Master Suite. This suite is King bedded and has an attached bath with separate shower, soaking tub and water closet. The Double sinks are a real plus too! Soak in the tub under the star light! There is also a private lanai off the Master suite. Perfect for breakfasts, sun bathing or cocktails at sunset! So beautiful and private! The 2nd bedroom upstairs has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and a twin on the top. There is also a private lanai from this room.
Not only do you get the sweet privilege of gulf front living, but you also have access to a common heated swimming pool (shared among 6 homes), lighted tennis court and a dock on the inland water way. The dock is perfect if you have your own watercraft, and if you don't, for fishing!
Just added a huge deck under the home with excellent views of the beach. Sit on the deck and watch the kids play at the beach!!
Click on the "Amenities" tab to understand where exactly Don Pedro Island is!
Don Pedro Island, Florida is part of an extensive chain of barrier islands extending along the Gulf Coast of Florida between Knight Island and Little Gasparilla Island. It is located right outside Englewood, Florida...about 45 minutes from Sarasota and Siesta Key. Don Pedro Island is not attached to the mainland and requires a small car ferry for access. While we LOVE no bridges from the mainland (no traffic, no tourists, no crime, etc), don't let the ferry worry you. It's simply a drive-thru experience that the kids love! You might even get lucky and see dolphins or manatees in the waterway while the ferry turns around! (That is all the ferry does, turn around. We are truly a stone's throw from the mainland. Visitors might see endangered animals such as West Indian manatees,Gopher tortoise, bald eagles, and American oystercatchers. With a mile of white sand beach, popular activities include sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and shelling. Boat and surf fishing are also
favorite pastimes! For hiking and nature study, trails meander through the islands 11 natural communities and don't forget geocaching! There are 836 geocaches currently available on the island! The kids LOVE these treasure hunts located off the coast of Cape Haze about 9 miles south of Englewood!
Don Pedro Island is very unique in that there are no commercial high-rises, unpaved firmly packed sandy roads, the beaches are secluded and quiet, the wildlife is truly fabulous, and the islands are accessed by private boat or car ferry only.
The car ferry runs continually from 7:00 AM until 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday. It is a very short ride, only ten minutes, and a very welcome ride for all who live or vacation here.
Because there is no bridge access to the island, our beaches remain peaceful in even the busiest of seasons. Due to the non-commercial status on the island, there are no public restrooms, vendors or concession stands to litter and crowd the island. The only people using our beaches are those renting a vacation home or permanent residents.
You won't find a more amazing place to live or visit on the south west coast of Florida. It truly is America's Caribbean!
Wildlife abounds on the island. We love the Gopher Tortoises: they are beautiful land tortoises that live in burrows they dig themselves several feet underground. You can spot them nibbling on the island vegetation mornings and evenings. And, after a sudden rain, they all come out to get a fresh drink of water. Don't forget this area is one of the few left in the US where the Loggerhead turtles return each year to nest bringing us thousands of hatchlings! The wildlife ranges from the usual squirrel and rabbit, to the odd armadillo and bobcat! The birdlife is spectacular - ospreys, hawks, herons, egrets, owls and even eagles! And, of course the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding lagoons have dolphins, manatees, fish and more of the beautiful creatures of the sea.
