"Ok but not what I was expecting
We had a nice time despite the pool
Not opening until Thursday. I thought the beach itself was really nice and wide and clean. Our condo felt smaller and more closed in than I had hoped and was far more dated than I had hoped. I didn’t like codes changing on gates mid week without notice. "

"Beachside Colony - excellent people and location, but lousy condo
Christmas week 2019 was a reunion of family from 6 states. We had 3 condos and a total of 20 people in & out during the week. The location was excellent, the proximity to the beach was lovely & activities were plentiful. Two of our three condos were decent; however, 434 was a mess. The main problem was a broken and unusable slider to the main balcony, for which we were given a discounted price 24 hrs after check-in. The master bedroom balcony door was VERY difficult to move and the light bulb was out. There was also no light at our front door or in the 3rd floor elevator hall. Those were reported to the office, & workmen arrived promptly to replace the bulbs, & fixed the door at the same time. The elevator hall never was illuminated & the front door replacement never worked, which made us wonder about all the wiring, as most of the outlets had only one working plug! The condo, in general, had not been maintained. In addition to the broken door, the appliances & bathroom fixtures needed to be replaced or, at the very least, properly cleaned and maintained. There was rust on the stove and the lousy bathtub caulking covered up obvious mildew. There was dried filth around the perimeter of every room that a wet mop wouldn’t begin eliminate, there was heavy dust & dirt behind and under the furniture that we moved to accommodate our large group, and dishes and pans that had to be washed before being used. Even the provided broom was gross & WAY beyond its useful life. There was ‘stuff’ stored in every closet – tables, chairs, small appliances & decorative items - that took up needed space, & only 1 rug in the entire condo. There was also no DVD player for a rainy-day activity.
In short, my assessment is that, while the office personnel and workmen were terrific, that didn’t compensate for lousy housekeeping or owners who won’t let loose with funds to maintain, let alone update, the condo. It should NOT be rented again until tha"

My family rented BeachHouse 434 for 2019 Thanksgiving week. While we liked the location, we were disappointed in the condo unit and a few things about the resort. First, we arrived to find a note on the sliding door to the main balcony that the door was broken. We could not use the balcony. The door to the tiny balcony in the MB tended to go off track and was difficult to open (the two balconies do not connect). We always rent a beachfront condo/house and look forward to mornings and evenings on the balcony to enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean. We learned that the owner had known about the broken door for several weeks and not fixed it. The resort manager did give us a discount because of the broken door, because they did not have another available beachfront unit. There was a problem with the main TV for several days. The condo was basically clean but the floor needed work. The “queen” bed was actually a double. The twin beds were rickety with mattresses needing replacement. The outside lights by the unit, elevator and most in the hall on our floor did not work due to wiring problems (according to a maintenance man). We had to use a flashlight to enter the door code. The staff was pleasant but could not seem to get maintenance items taken care of. As for the onsite restaurant – don’t expect to eat there during the offseason. You never know when they will be open or close early. "

"Needed better maintenance
Great view & price. Drawback- dishwasher not working (told previous renter reported it)- handwashed dishes. Guys came up several times to try to fitx it- couldn't. Coffee pot dirty- filter full of grounds, coffee still in pot. Had to get same guy (dishwasher) to return to unlock our door by resetting something. Couldn't lock it from the inside and outside. "

"Beachside Colony Stay
Condo was very dirty. Floors were filthy and the furniture covered in thick dust. Broken pull out bed and broken drawer handles. Also not nearly enough towels for a 3 bedroom condo.Advised management and nothing done."

"Hit or Miss depending on the Unit
Beautiful location. The rooms need to be cleaned better. The floors looked like they had not been mopped in some time. The sofa bed was broken and there were no sheets for the sofa bed. "

"Nice time at Beach, not so nice accommodations.
We enjoyed our stay at Tybee dispite the problems we had with our condo. Our washer dryer combo was broken. The management should have known and made arrangements to repair or replace before renting again. I don't believe our condo was cleaned properly before we arrived. There were dirty bath clothes in the master bath, coffee grounds in the coffee pit and glasses were still wet in the cabinet. The main pool was not very inviting. The water was very cloudy and pool was dirty. The lounge chairs are very worn and old. We were reimbursed a days rent for trouble. We have been coming to Beachside Colony off and on for over 10 years. Might be our last."

"Family Reunion
We had our family reunion at Tybee Island and rented several condos. The rental agency was great in accommodating our request for the units to be near one another. The condo was nicely decorated, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the balcony. The on-site restaurant was good. And of course, the beach was perfect! "

"Recent Stay
Staff was fast very nice and the location was great! However, the condo was dirty. The floors didn’t appear to have been cleaned at all. In fact, there was broken glass all over. There was blood on the toilet. The baseboards and fans were covered in a layer of dust. There was broken glass in the parking lot. Employees, either from the resort or the restaurant, were smoking in the parking lot. "

"Bravo Beachside Colony Resort!
When we were planning a trip (including our dog) for the purpose of moving our oldest daughter to college, we were initially considering securing accommodations in the historic district of downtown Savannah, GA. However, the prices of the hotels in that area were higher than we had budgeted to spend and most were not “pet friendly.” After researching additional accommodations in the surrounding area, we discovered the small beach community of Tybee Island, GA. Beachside Colony Resort’s amenities are second to none. We enjoyed the ocean view balconies, private beach access, on-site pools, a beachfront restaurant as well as on-site garage parking, all conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. The three bedroom, two bath, two balcony condo (Beach House on the Dune Unit #434) that we rented provided amazing third floor views of the ocean with even better sunrises from our balcony each morning. The ease of getting our family and beach gear to the beach was very convenient via a very short private walkway. One evening, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner at The Deck Beach Bar and Kitchen. Our waitress, Steph, provided one of our best meals! Towards the end of our scheduled stay at the resort, we had asked the office staff if we could possibly extend out stay by one night. Unfortunately, the pet friendly condos were completely booked at that time. To our amazement, the staff contacted Jennifer on her day off and, within an hour, we received word that Beach House on the Dune Unit #422 had become available! Although one floor lower, this absolutely adorable two bedroom, two bath, two balcony condo provided very similar beach and ocean views. While the physical facilities are so beautiful, it’s really the people of the resort who make the vacation experience. Simply put, Beachside Colony Resort outperformed our greatest vacation expectations in every way. We will certainly be back again!"

"Perfect Vacation!
The staff at Beachside Colony were professional & helpful with great attitudes!
Our condo was clean, spacious & just as described online. Being so close to the beach was so convenient and easy! Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanted a great beach experience at Tybee!"

"beautiful location; needs a queen bed in guest room as stated .
We had stayed in 434 at the Beach House on the Dunes with a great experience, but this year had trouble with a few things. Initially our refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. We had a quick response for it's repair. The worst problem was guest bedroom states queen size, but this year it was a double and had broken box springs. We reported that with no response. Outside light was out(reported 2x with no response), and master bathroom faucet loose (no repair)."

"Great place to stay!
We stay in one of the Beach House properties every year. This unit has definitely been recently updated! 3 new flat screen TV's and new decor since the last time we were there. Also, these units are always clean, but this year was exceptional! Dawn did a great job! Staff was very friendly and helpful as always! "

"Wonderful stay, condo dated and dirty
Will not stay in 434 again. We should have been prepared when we saw the filthy entrance door. Dirt in all corners of the condo. Was afraid to let the comforter on the bed touch me. It needed washing. Bathroom had a bad odor. Had to call someone to repair several things. Ketchup splattered on the ceiling. Tvs were so tiny, we didn't even watch them. Condo just needs a good cleaning and updated decor and larger tvs. "

"A TRUE Beachside location
Lots of space. Very clean. Balconies over looking the ocean. Experienced a breathtaking sunrise. Very close to everything on the island.
There was some noisy construction going on at the pool. One elevator was out of order. The walkway light by our room was not working so it was pretty dark at night"

"Love Tybee Island!
I rent homes all the time for large family vacations. We were there in Tybee for my niece's wedding. There were 9 of us in total and we wanted something right on the beach. This condo is perfect location wise. You look right on the beach every morning...beautiful! Everything was convenient to set up...The big negative is the condo is very no clean. We cleaned it to ensure our stay was pleasant.

"A Week on Tybee Island
We had a wonderful week at the Beachside Colony Resort. We had an 8 month old baby with us, so the heated pool was wonderful! The beach outside the property is beautiful - very wide and clean. The maintenance department was very prompt when we had the dishwasher back up into the kitchen sink. We would definitely come back again to this resort."

"March Getaway
Our stay was again wonderful! The view is magnificent and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ocean! The condo was well stocked. But, the TVs need updating and the wifi iffy at times."

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in a unit in Beachside Colony. Sadly, this unit was a big let down from the others we have stayed at in the past. While I understand we stayed at the end of the summer season the basic unit is smiply in need of serious updating by the owners. It clearly shows years of wear and tear along with significant deferred maintenance. The unit was poorly outfitted with the basis items such as utensils and screens on the doors. I will say that the Beachside Colony management was responsive and did try to take care of as many issues as they could for us. But I feel that in the case of this unit the issues fall more to the owners not doing updating on the unit."

"shabby unit
The view was great. The unit needs to be updated. Ten inch TV...really. It looked like mold was coming out of the air vents, bathroom faucets were loose, cabitnetry was rotting in the master bath. My other complsint was coffee or lack of..... You would think that for well over three hundred dollars a night there would be coffee available. I"

"Great Time on Tybee Island
The rental was very nice. Beach access was excellent. Off-street parking provided. Close enough to Savannah to enjoy the city, but far enough away to miss the hustle and bustle."

"we love tybee , beachside colony , great location
we enjoyed our stay , however the condo is in need of some maintainance , even though it was clean , the appearance was very dirty , broken chair out on the balcony , and the dryer lint catcher would not stay on , we could not use the dryer, for the money we paid per night i would think , the condo would be a little more polished.we also didnt like that all the beach gates were open , anyone could come on to property ."

"Good but not Great
We have stayed at the property in the past and had a over all good experience. This time the condo we stayed in was very dirty. There were cheerios on the floor and we did not have cheerios. I went to look for something under the bed and it looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. The master bathroom cabinet is decaying! The floor was filthy when we arrived. There were hardly any towels a lot of the kitchen supplies were missing. It was not very good at all. NOT SATISFIED THIS TIME!!!!"

"There is a reason why I am a "regular" visitor
I've stayed in many of these units and have not been disappointed. It's basically like having all of the comforts of home, but at the beach. We bring snacks and goodies to keep in the kitchen. While we eat out most meals, we usually stay in for a few as well. It's located about halfway between the lighthouse and the pier, which is where the crowds are if you are into that. If not, the beach right outside your door is never crowded. The unit we stayed in has 3 bedrooms, which allows everyone to have a bit of their own space, in addition to the great room and dining areas. Would I stay again - you bet. The only problem is that I have to make reservations 3 months in advance to get the week I want..."

"Tybee '13
Shower liners were gross with mildew. Can't you spend $4 on new liners every couple of months? One of the beds actually had sand in it, on the bottom sheet and we wondered if the linens had even been changed after the previous renters left (yuck!).
The condo could have been a lot cleaner. As much as I paid it should have been immaculate and it was not. It wouldn't have taken much more effort to have cleaned the unit more thoroughly. Next time I will try a different place. We won't stay in that condo again."

"Plan to stay again
So happy with the set up we have reserved a unit for the next two Marches."

"Winter Visit
We have enjoyed our annual visits. The accomodations are very good and management very supportive plus the other people staying at the same time are very friendly and welcoming. We left some minor observations on things in the unit that could use some extra care but nothing major. Thanks for another very nice visit to Tybee and Savannah."
