"Spring Break Vacation
This is our second time staying in Gulf Dunes, and I am very satisfied with the location and the property management! I sincerely appreciated an earlier check in call from Mary Ann!
Having previously owned a condo further down the island, I love this location! Plenty of places to walk to for food and entertainment.
Unit 310 was exactly as presented: great updates, very well equipped kitchen, plenty of high quality towels, etc. My only suggestion is to have extra blankets and pillows on hand. I was quite satisfied, but my daughter was in need of a blanket or two! I know if I would have asked, my request would have been accommodated, but she managed just fine. Would definitely stay at Gulf Dunes again!"

"Gulf Dunes 310 Vacation
Rental was good, had all the basics we needed. Short walk to the beach, good view though the balcony could use some cleaning. Nice view. Needs more pillow and blankets or bring your own. The tub in the master bath is a jacuzzi tub however it is not in working order. The unit is not advertised as such but looking at the pics you can see this. Would be nice if that is clarified. That was one of the reasons we picked this room over another. Otherwise we would have gone with another location we were familiar with. Overall it was in a great location, walking distance to places to eat. I didn’t like that you are not able to get in until 4pm, they don’t start making calls with the code until that time to everyone or later. Most rentals I have had email the code the day before and if the unit is ready you can get in. In fairness though they did work with us after I called. After driving 12 hours the last thing we want to do is wait longer. "

"Everything We Wanted
We stayed at the Gulf Dunes and the location was perfect. It was right on the beach so it gave the convenience of just waking up to the sound of the waves and no need for prep for a beach day. We just woke up and walked straight on the beach. The sound of the waves at night was very peaceful. The condo itself was beautiful and comfortable. We will definitely return!"

Very nice, the view was amazing. Easy excess to the beach. Walking distance to several resturants, gas station, and gift shop. Really enjoyed the included chairs and umbrella service on the beach. The only slight negative about the stay, wished there were dish rags in the kitchen."

Easy check in / out. First impressions very nice. Floors sandy ( of course it’s on the beach) you’ll need a fan in master bed room pretty warm in there. A few things need attention but nothing that really mattered."

First, not a complaint we resolved with latex egg creates thanks to the local Walmart. Beds in 2nd & 3rd bedrooms were a bit hard.
Second is for house-keeping. The floors were dirty. Not sandy, dirty. The bottoms of our feet would get black We had a grand baby crawling and in her walker. Her knees and feet would get black.

Great location and Great for a family. We were so comfortable in this rental and had such a great time. The view from the balcony was amazing and we really enjoyed our 3 min walk to the beach. The AC gave us trouble, but, the ladies at Brooks and Shorey were on top of it and had someone out there immediately. We were so appreciative of how fast they worked to accommodate us. You will not be disappointed with this rental. "

"Beautiful updated clean condo professionally decorated
Condo was a beautiful thoughtfully decorated and color palette is perfect. Loved the wood tiled Flores other than it would be nice to have some rugs to put your feet in when getting out of bed and in the kitchen area. Kitchen was well equipped except except No sheet pan in the unit. Sofa sleeper was beautiful as well as very comfortable. My only recommendation would be to replace lanai furniture with more comfortable zero gravity chairs that do not take much space. If coming to the area again would definitely stay there. Nice to have the full size washer dryer since a three bedroom unit. Although the interior of unit was beautiful the exterior of gulf dunes needs attention. Paint on doors exterior of unit and general routine cleaning of stairwells. "

This condo did not disappoint. It was very clean when we arrived and had plenty of towels, kitchen and bathroom items, movies and board games that we used during the week. It was plenty of space for four adults and two teenagers. When we had an issue with the dryer, someone was sent up timely to try to fix it. The front desk staff was very helpful. The outlets, especially in the master and dining/living room are pretty worn out, but it was nothing to make us not book this condo again. We were very satisfied with this unit and the property altogether. It is so close to the beach, and the beach service was great! Highly recommend this unit!"

"Gulf Dunes 310
First the Bad: Upon arrival I noticed the laundry door was broken and then I realized it was off the henge because it had to be for the dryer door to open. I recommend a pocket door if possible or two regular doors since you can shut them to be out of the way. You want to shut the doors to help muffle the noise anyway when using the washer and dryer. The floors were not mopped. I know this because upon arriving,just as I walked into the kitchen, I dropped my Sprite and when I mopped it up with a paper towel it was filthy. My feet showed it too later that day. The balcony is not private either. There is no "shutter" like some of the other balconies have. So when we sat outside, we are practically sitting with our neighbors in the next building. They didn't always have their shutter closed. There needs to be door mats as you come in off of the balcony to help keep sand from being tracked throughout the condo. I had to use a beach towel. And there were no bath mats given for any of the bathrooms. Had to use a towel for that too. The bathroom door in the 3rd bdrm with the twin beds would not shut completely to lock. And there were no oven mitts that I could find.
Now the Good: I liked the way the condo was decorated and I loved the floor! I liked the small walk in closet and all the space throughout the condo and in the bedrooms. I had 6 adults with me so we moved around very well. We all loved the matching reclining chairs. We fought over them! Haha! The location is great, quick to stores and restaurants. You can walk 20 minutes up the beach to the restaurants by the pier. We love Rockin Tacos!
FYI...McGuire's Pub in Destin is excellent!! If you like steak and salmon you will not be disappointed, I promise!!
So overall I recommend this condo. "

We absolutely loved this condo! The renovations were beautiful. Great view from the balcony and the master bedroom. This is a very spacious condo and the location has a lot to offer. The property manager is always very helpful every time we stay at Gulf Dunes :) The only recommendation I have is to upgrade the patio furniture. Thanks again for a great vacation!! We will be back!"

Really enjoyed the Condo. We've stayed at several on Okaloosa Island, and this was the best unit. The finishes/flooring/etc... made it a specially nice feel. It'd be great if a few of the remaining things were finished off - clean up the trimming around the patio door, refinish the bathrooms that aren't in the master suite, etc... but overall, great place."

"Good condo
The condo was good. The only thing that kept it from being great was it wasn't properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The important things were clean (i.e. the beds and bathrooms) but it had not been dusted and the floors had not been vacuumed. With understanding we were at the beach, there was still sand EVERYWHERE. You could not walk on the tiled floors without having the bottom of your feet covered. There was a vacuum in one of the closest so I was able to vacuum myself, which made a significant difference. But with the price we paid to stay at this condo for a week, we should not of had to do it ourselves. Other than this, the condo was great."

Loved our stay in this unit. Very spacious for our family of 7! The kitchen has a ton of extras more then we have even had at other rentals. The new flooring was really pretty but hard to keep feet clean from sand. I would recommend a vacuum as an option to use through out stay. Definitely will return to Unit 310!

"Spring Break Heaven
The property was beautiful and just as advertised. It is right in the beach so there was a Fabulous view from the master bedroom as well as the den. There were tvs in every room for down time. There were 3 bathrooms so no waiting around for showers! The property had tons of bathroom towels but I did have to wash a couple of loads in the condo washer. There were a lot of extras in the kitchen that we didn't really expect like Plenty of plates etc for 8 guests. There was even a Keureg, blender, and measuring cups. We grilled steaks at the grill downstairs. There was plenty of seating at the main table and countertop in the condo. There were even carts to carry our luggage up and down. Great fun!"

Good location. Quiet and safe. Good family atmosphere. Property is old and run down. Description says "newly renovated". Renovations were not recent! Also not clean and not well-maintained. Clogged drains and dirty bathrooms when we arrived. Had fun in spite of the disappointment in the accomodations! Staff was very nice."

Do you love this condo! The rooms were updated. There were games and beach toys in the closets for us to use. The kitchen was fully stocked. Would definitely go with with this condo again. The only downside is that our hot tub was broken. I went to the front desk to see if we could get repaired, but nobody showed up to fix. Still, we would choose this place again. "

No surprises. The condo was clean, we had one issue with beach toys being left in the condo wet from the previous stay. It caused an odor, we asked the maids to address and they took care of it instantly and in a professional manner. Great view and the beachfront was not crowded, compared to some of the other properties nearby we were in our own world."

"Family getaway
Our family (husband, daughter, son in law, 12 and 2 year old granddaughters, and myself) were in desperate need of a stress free, relaxing getaway. We found it here at Gulf Dunes 310. The condo is located on the 3rd floor - the perfect level IMHO. Beautiful unobstructed views with extra light from the west side windows. Plenty of room for everyone to both gather together or to have privacy and quiet when needed. Since we came in November, rates were great and the weather was cool and perfect. Several of us even got in the ocean several times as the daytime temperature was 72 degrees. Could not have been better weather.
High points- the wonderfully stocked kitchen, large dining room table with sturdy chairs, big balcony with various height chairs, keyless entry, Mary Anne (reservations staff member).
Tiny bit less than high - (there were no low points!) need a new, larger kitchen garbage can, sand in the master tub, no DVD player in the 2nd or 3rd bedrooms that we could find. None of these things warranted a call to the front desk.
We will definitely be back! Thank you so much! "

We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days, and I will definitely use this condo again when we return next year! The management was great and even got us into the condo early! We had a few minor issues, which were all resolved the same day. Very close to beach access and the condo was VERY comfortable for 6 people. I would highly recommend this place to any and everyone!"

Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Condo was very spacious for all 5 of us. Very Clean. Could use some electrical maint on some of the outlets. 18 holes of golf at Shalimar Pointe was a nice touch. The Condo was great, we loved it. Very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed from towels to all the dishes & appliances needed. Great location too. The only problem we had was with Mother Nature, she decided to let green algae surface in the ocean. The water was really nasty in front of our condo. We were really disappointed about that. But like I said it had nothing to do with the condo or its management, it was mother nature. We will visit again because we love Destin/Ft Walton. "

"Wonderful Week in Condo 310
Everything was outstanding: the location, the condo itself, the management company.
If there is one suggestion I have, it concerns the mattress of the sleeper couch. It might be sufficient for children or small guests, but it's too uncomfortable for grown adults.
Otherwise, it was a great experience in a very well kept condo!

This was our 7th year on Okaloosa Island. This was far and away the coldest one of all. This year was not as pleasant as we would have liked and gave us a lot to talk about back home, but certainly not as favorably as we wanted it to be. Please fix that situation for our visit next year. Bribery works. Temps in the 70-75 range would get you very high marks next year. "

"Loved the modern decor and amazing view!
This unit exceeded our expectations. We loved the modern simplistic vibe and open, airy feel. It seemed much bigger than the pictures would suggest. The master bedroom is huge and all three bedrooms had their own bathrooms. Since the other two bedrooms face away from the beach, they are not as bright. The main living area, which includes the couches/TV, the dining table and the kitchen, has a great flow. We definitely plan on returning. We stayed over the week of Christmas so it was very quiet. I'm curious what it's like in warmer weather. Despite the information provided, the unit did have two hair dryers in the bathrooms so it's not necessary to bring your own. We only wish that basic cleaning supplies were provided - we had to buy kitchen spray, dishwashing liquid, sponges, and a broom. We were told by the managing company that they aren't allowed to provide these due to safety concerns (they did provide 2 individual dishwasher packets). We ended up spending a bit more money and did a bit more shopping than we wanted to. Overall, we had an excellent time here and would highly recommend this unit. "

"Fun in the sun 2013
We enjoyed the location of this property, right on the beautiful Emerald Shores of Ft Walton Beach. The extra services such as the beach chair & umbrella, and free movie rentals were convient & nice. Overall, the facility is well kept. The condo we were in could have been more clean. The beds in the 3rd bedroom had sand on them before we could even get to the beach, the bedspreads smelled, not so fresh & the floor was rather dirty. I know that the owner's likely pay a service to take care of these things & they should be made aware of the issues that might affect their potential rentals. Would I stay here again? Yes. Hopefully next time I won't be washing & cleaning up someone else's mess before I can make my own. Better mattresses wouldn't hurt either. Sleep is too important to have to toss & turn when you're on vacation. This seems to be the theme @ majority of the condos. The location was peaceful & quiet. Overall very nice, just a few minor issues. Thanks Gulf Dunes owners for opening up your beach home for us!"

"Great Beach Vacation!
Gulf Dunes 310 is a great condo! Very spacious and updated. The only complaint is when we arrived the bathroom floors were quite dirty. Lots of hair! The condo also needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Losts of dust on blinds and base boards. A good detailed cleaning and we would rate our entire vacation with 5 Stars. Thanks for a great condo!"

"Nice place
Building is easy to find and located close to everything. Room was as described. The balcony was way too small for the size of the condo. We could hear ever word the people above us said and heard ever step they took from inside the condo! The beach set up people were awful! Also they allow people with huge tents to set up in front of other peoples chairs! Overall nice but we will be returning to our usual condo after this stay. We would not stay here again. "

We loved the extra amenities that came with the condo: golf and beach chairs especially! The condo was very nice, overall a very nice stay.
The only complaint was the pans in the kitchen could use an upgrade. Nice proximity to Destin!"

"Great condo! Our only complaint is that it isn't as quiet as others we've stayed in. You can hear your neighbors and the light coming into the two bedrooms closest to the front door is very bright in the mornings.
I would consider putting up dark shades or curtains for your guests. Other than that it was great!"

"Quick weekend trip
I only had one night to enjoy the beautiful white sandy beaches, but Gulf Dunes was a perfect place to stay. The staff were extremely helpful in getting me the room I wanted at a reasonable price. The room overlooked the water with an unbelievable view. The condo was about a mile away from the pier at The Boardwalk where restaurants and both day and nighttime entertainment abound. This would be a great place to take family or a group of friends. It is only about 15 minutes from Destin a well. I would definitely return."

"My vacation
Condo was very clean. Our grandkids are ready to move. Weather was wonderful. Friday we atarted getting tarballs. We stayed out of the ocean after that.
My only complaint was before the trip the condo next to us was 25% cheaper and they would not honor it."

We enjoyed our vacation very much. We have stayed at Gulf Dunes every year since it opened. There was only one negative thing this year which probably is no fault of the condo. We had a problem with people setting up their personal umbrellas right in front of the condo's umbrellas we were using which blocked the ocean view. "

"Property condition
We like the Gulf Dunes, but find that Unit 310 has not been upgraded in several years. The couch is badly in need of replacing. The balcony furniture needs replaced. It would be nice to get rid of the cement table which takes up a lot of space but is not functional. The kitchen isn't very well equipped. There is no electric can opener, no cooky sheets, no broiler pan and the skillets badly need to be replaced. The rest of the condo is in pretty good shape."
