This delightful summer vacation rental cottage, overlooking broad stretches of the Atlantic Ocean and Rockport's Hoop Pole Cove, is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to experience the best of New England. The wraparound porch and expansive yard allow you to fully enjoy Cape Ann's natural beauty.

After walking up a few outside steps, the house is contained on one level. The renovated kitchen is complete with granite counters and all the major appliances you need, including a washer and dryer. The rest of the cottage also underwent a complete renovation a few years ago, resulting in a home with antique charm and modern comfort.

The home has stylish modern upgrades, such as a custom tile bath with soaking tub and a separate shower as well as vintage elements including a stone fireplace made from local popples. Popples are stones that the ocean has rolled to an egg shape and they are commonly found in the Cape Ann area. The floors are hardwood throughout the home. Two nicely-sized bedrooms with free standing A/C units, one containing two twin beds and the other housing a regal queen bed, complete the floor plan.

Located in a serene neighborhood, North Seas cottage is perfect for those lazy summer mornings, sleeping in before venturing out on a quiet walk to the sea. It is also easy to get to the beaches, local shops, and exquisite restaurants for which Cape Ann is famous. Just a short walk (about 50 yards) down the street is a foot path to Hoop Pole Cove. Explore the rocky shore or dip your toes into the calm waters of the cove.

The lane alongside North Seas can accommodate parking for two to three vehicles. Note that cell phone reception may or may not reliably work for some service providers, so the cottage has a landline if you need it.

"NS Cottage Feedback
Property description listed an ice maker and a hair dryer, which were not provided. The deck set was not out and luckily we called as the hot water was not turned on. But the owner came right out to rectify the issue.
The deck was stained recently and the odor made one of us rather ill. The odor did improved over subsequent days.
We were able to bring our dog so we did lots of walking trails which were great, as well as walking around the neighborhood. We didn't find a lot of "nice restaurants" that were dog friendly. So the research goes on. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. We are looking forward to booking this again next May! "

"august vacation
We've stayed at the white cottage many times even before it was a rental. We knew the previous owner and the current owners. The location is great and our week was good but noisy. We wished we had known about the construction at the corner of the street. Dump trucks were constantly going up and down the street right in front of the cottage all day starting at 7:30 in the morning Monday through Thursday of that week."

"Pleasant stay
My wife and two young girls (ages 6 and 4) generally enjoyed our stay here. These were several minor annoyances (the TV did not work and the lights did not work in one of the bedrooms when we arrived and there were no hooks for towels and limited space to put things down in the bathroom) but we were able to find the circuit breakers the next morning for the bedroom lights and the rental agent was very helpful in having the TV fixed promptly). One suggestion is to have a brief explanation of the operation of the TV and other equipment in the house for convenience and well as some information on where one could go for groceries. We did not spend much time in the place itself (breakfast two of four mornings and no lunches or dinners), but found the area a pleasant one when we were there. The accompanying picture accurately captures the most attractive view from the place. The area was also quiet and relaxing and we found the beds very comfortable. "

"Fantastic rental home - loved every minute!
My family and I (my husband, our 10 and 11 year old boys and our dog, Bleu) stayed at the North Seas Cottage for 9 days. From the first moment we saw the view we knew we loved it. Every room was homey and comfy and full of wonderful little finds to enjoy. I loved using any manner of dishes (I haven't taken my own relish dish out in years...) to serve dinner - they really have everything. We had two minor issues, a leak from an a/c unit and a broken shower curtain, but both were resolved quickly with the management team. We would definitely consider coming back next year!"

"Not for the physically challenged.
When I inquired about this property, I explained that two of our party used walkers and canes. I was told that there were 3-4 steps up to the porch and 2 more into the house. There are 7 large steps to the porch and proved to be too much for two of us. We both suffered breathing difficulties and problems climbing. Perhaps you should retain someone who is physically challenged to rate your properties. The beds were too high for short women. On the plus side, the view was beautiful. "

"Perfect cottage for 2
The location overlooking the cove and promontory of Halibut Point is exceptional. Beautiful oceans breezes and refreshing air off the water. The home is well furnished and comfortable. Ideal for a couple, a couple with small kids (2 twin beds), or 2-3 adults."

"Great week in rockport!
This is a great property for a small family. We came w our boys ages 10 & 12. Loved the proximity to the shore - great fishing so close by. Lovely quiet neighborhood. Great for dog walking & riding bikes. Nice new kitchen as well.
Close to rockport center as well. "

"Beautiful and comfortable seaside cottage
We would highly recommend this cottage for anyone who would like to experience the beauty of Cape Ann. As a family of four, we were extremely comfortable in this top rate property. Brand new kitchen and bath, wonderful beds with high quality linens, a mixture of modern furniture and amenities and lovely antiques and artwork made this a truly special place. Every morning we were able to have our coffee out on the deck (a portion of which is covered) and view the small cove. There are great walking paths and down to the rocks. There were extra lines and blankets for cold nights and plenty of other extras like soap, paper towel, etc. I loved the claw foot tub and the walk-in shower - many towels were provided!"

"Great place for couple and two younger kids
We had a great experience at this cottage for the week. There was easy access to a rocky shoreline and getting to town was a short drive."

We have already been in contact about a few of the many problems with this property (hornets, broken shower curtain, lack of cell phone service). In addition, the master bed was broken, we had to buy our own paper towels, and there were sand fleas in the couch which resulted in two of the four people staying with us getting bitten. "

"Sweet Spot
Yes, what a Sweet Spot! The cottage was clean and wonderful, perfect for our stay. The view of the trees and the ocean beyond was like being in a tree house, peaceful and delightful. And, we were able to bring our mini doxie along with us and he loved it too! I would highly recommend this property for a great place to get away from all the hustly and bustle."

"Nice house, some very serious issues
Very nice house, well maintained and furnished, but the lack of air conditioning was a major, major problem. The air simply doesn't move in the house (particularly in the bedroom areas) despite it's proximity to the ocean. I thought that no matter how hot it may possibly get, the ocean proximity would make up for it, particularly at night. I was wrong. Sleeping was simply impossible. No cell service in the house was another major problem. Would not recommend to anyone."

"A perfect getaway on the tip of the cape.
The property, the location and the property manager were all a delight."
Aug 23, 2010 - Janice C., Boston, MA

The home was decorated with antiques, beautifully maintained, and the beds were comfy! The view was gorgeous, sipping coffee every morning watching the waves crash on the rocks, and sunsets over the same view at night! We will certainly return!"

"Cozy cottage with spectacular water view!!!
Absolutely fabulous!!!! The cottage was delightful! It was so open and airy, PEACEFUL and relaxing! Several of the windows faced the water which lent to beautiful breezes and a gorgeous view! The decor is cozy and happy, with pretty bedrooms, spacious bathroom and a big kitchen!! The cottage came with every ammenity you would ever want or need! In just 5 minutes you were in beautiful, quaint, downtown Rockport with all its fabulous shopping and great restaurants! Also only 5 mins away was a grocery store, train station (if interested in seeing Boston) and beaches!! What more could you ask for!! Fantastic find and we will be back next year for sure!!! Spectacular!!!!"

everything was lovely and perfect; except that on Friday, when there was no power in the house, no-one at your office could be reached. Beautiful, peaceful place, though. Thank you."

My only complaint would be the old and very uncomfortable deck furniture. A
couple of chaises would also help."
