"Great for a Family Vacation
Our family of 10 people consisting of 6 adults and 4 children under age 10 spent a week at this rental. It was a very pleasant experience. The rental is clean and well kept. The larger heated community pool is less than 200 feet away...about a 3 minute walk. It suited our family well. The beach is a 20 minute walk (1 mile) or short ride away. We rented the week after the spring break crowd and the neighborhood was quiet."

"Terrible
Water was shut off when we arrived. We killed about 30 flys the first two days we were there. The spectrum cable never worked in the living room. The pool table and arcade video game. I should ask for a partial refund for items described incorrectly. AC worked well"

"Family Beach Vacation
All was great with rental. Everything was as described in the rental post. The only comment I would make is the parking. All vehicles must be in driveway which I totally understand. The property says that driveway will accommodate 4 vehicles. If your guests all drive trucks or large SUV’s this may not be possible. "

"Happy Honu
Location of the house is great, very close to beach access. The private pool was perfect after the beach. Top deck view of the ocean is fantastic, especially at sunrise. We had a couple hiccups with the house, but property management did a great job resolving issues quickly and in a timely manner. We love Village Walk community and will definitely be back!"

"Summer Days vaca
We truly enjoyed our stay at Lucky Enough...... The amenities were very nice. The swimming pool was a great bonus for the little ones.
The only thing that we wish to improve the stay is the fact of the bright lights shining in from the neighbors flood lights shining right in the windows of the bedrooms on the second floor.... So very bright we thought it was morning at 2:30 am. "

"Nice getaway
Lucky enough was a great house that met our needs and exceeded our expectations. Great location, close to wonderful shops and restaurants. I just wish there was closer access to the beach, its about a 2mile walk. However you can rent a golf cart or buy a beach parking permit at local gas stations and drive/park on the beach. The rooftop was my favorite spot in the mornings for coffee and evenings for adult beverages. The views are amazing. The elevator was sooo helpful with groceries, loading in and out and getting my elderly parents to the upper levels. The beds were comfy, house was clean and any issues were minor and quickly resolved. We will stay here again when we are back on the coast of TX."

"Great views for the whole family
My wife and I took our three young children to this property and had a blast. We really only made use of the middle and top floor, but they were bright, clean, and comfortable. We snuck up to the roof for an evening after the kids went down and enjoyed some fresh air. The only letdown was the game room: the arcade machine wasn't functional and the ping-pong table in the pictures has since become a billiards table, which is probably better for adults but it was a bummer for the kids. "

"Christmas with the family
We currently live in Arkansas, but are from Central Texas. We decided to spend Christmas week at the Coast to spend a little time back home. Lucky Enough was everything anyone could ask for in a vacation home. The house was well appointed with everything you could need from the kitchen to the bedrooms. We could tell that the owners of this house cared very much about our comfort. We felt like we were staying with friends. The view from the rooftop deck was fantastic. The house is located near everything, but was in a gated community so we felt secluded. The privacy was a huge plus we did not expect. Will return next year."

"Great Place but Pool was disappointing
Great rental with lots of space for 5 adults and 2 children. Elevator came in handy with hauling all the ice chests and luggage. Great family room on the top floor. We stayed inside for all meals. Beach was great but the pool was not. Very cloudy water - reported it - someone came out and reported a broken part with the filter and left. Never was cleaned! Very disappointing for the kids."

"Great House, but ......
Rented Lucky Enough in the Village Walk area for our family vacation. House was perfect size for all of us, great location, and beautiful views of the gulf from the roof top BUT..........
We were greeted with a dead roach on the 2nd level stairs even though I thought they clean the property before we got there. Another roach was in the bunk bed! Then another one the next day on the 2nd level powder room. The pool was dirty!
I called Port A Escaped maintenance on Friday and was told the pool people would be out that day to clean and they would call the exterminator. 4pm Friday, pool people had not come out and of course no one from Port A Escapes called to give me an update so I called. Was told they would reach out again. Called on Saturday - of course no one was there to help so I left a message and never heard back. And still haven't heard back and today is Tuesday.
I will never book thru Port A Escapes again. I have been coming to Port A since I was a kid and now bringing my own family - this is the worst rental company I have come across.

"Clean and Beautiful
We had ten family members from three generations sharing the house, and it worked really well! The company was quick to respond and easy to work with.
The only down side was that you can't walk to the beach from it. It's in a cute neighborhood where you can see the beach but can't access it. The drive to get there, though, was quick and easy, so we just bought a beach parking pass and drove ourselves."

Perfect for family of 12. Elevator for unloading and loading made such a great experience. Bedrooms and bathrooms are laid out to accommodate everyone. The living dinning area is perfect for large family gathering with ocean view. Roof top and game room were such an added plus. "AMAZING HOUSE - Fabulous for all occasions
Our trip was so great, it was a group of 10 friends gathering for a weekend get a way. The house is in a great location, close to restaurants and bars, but not in the mix, very peaceful. Our annual trip had a few clouds this year and it wasn't the weather, it was this house.
The AC in the "guest suite" was not working. PAE brought in a window unit but it was still too hot to sleep there so we had to bunk in the living room. The "game room" was a single garage with a ping pong table and a non working arcade game, almost every towel bar or toilet paper bar fell off at one time or another, AND there were roaches in the kitchen :( We will NEVER stay in this house again, EVER! Port A Escapes stepped up and did what they could for us, it surely wasn't anything they did or didn't it was def the house."

"Summer Getaway 2018
Vacation home was very nice and had lots of room. The pool was a little on the small size, but that didnt keep the kids from enjoying themselves and the private pool was definitely a plus. Another downside was how close the houses are to each other. You really dont have any privacy when sitting outside. I would also suggest investing in a bigger pit. We also had some issues when we initially arrived, power outlets were not working and we had issues using the elevator, both of which were addressed and resolved right away. I would suggest a Welcome Packet describing how to use the elevator or at least turn on, which seemed to be our issue. The elevator was off. I did not like how the bottom floor was separate from the rest of the house, but luckily the elevator connected to all floors. The elevator definitely came in handy. There also seemed to be a lot of miscommunication between the home owner and property managers. PM were not aware of some of the existing issue (cable not working). On the plus size the house was clean, roomy and decorated very nicely and a short drive to the beach. Despite some of the issues we had here, we very much enjoyed ourselves. The PM also accommodated/resolved our issues and provided a refund, which was very impressive considering how bad customer service has gotten these days. A big thank you to the Property Managers for improving our experience substantially and trying to make everything right. "

"Bright and Cheery House with Amazing Views!
The house exceeded expectations. The decor was bright and cheerful, the house of clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone. We loved the upstairs area with the kitchen and living room. The best was the rooftop patio which provided nice ocean breezes and a great view of the gulf. The second floor was perfect for all the kids to sleep and the downstairs was a nice getaway for the adults. The joystick on the arcade machine does not work, however, so that was disappointing (you could only move right). "

Three families of us just came back from Port A. We were so glad to chose this Lucky Enough. The property was clean and stayed the same as the pictures showed. "Family Vacation
The "Lucky Enough" beach house was great. House was perfect for 11. It was clean and the décor was awesome. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and the dining table was large enough for our whole family to eat meals together. Beds were comfy. Elevator was good for taking groceries and luggage upstairs. Location was good for town and beach. We rented golf carts so the beach access was easier than if we walked or drove cars. Kids loved the pool. Grill was gas and not charcoal like the description stated. We had a great time in Port A!"

My husband and I took all our grown children and grandchildren to Lucky Enough and it was perfect. It was very comfortable home away from home, very large, clean, fun, we didn't want to leave. We all took turns preparing a large dinner, played games, enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on the mini balconies. Relaxed our private pool. "

"Great house!
This home's interior was beautiful and the balconies on both floors, plus the rooftop terrace with ocean views really put it over the top for us. The pool was small, but worked just right for our family. They provided extra blankets and pillows in every room which I really appreciated. Even the kitchen was pretty well stocked and the pots/pans provided were of good quality for these type of rentals. Everyone in my family commented on how much they liked the colorful dishes and there were plenty (enough to eat a couple meals before having to wash again). The management office/ maintenance personnel were also very responsive. The home has an elevator which was very useful throughout our stay, though the staff said there would be a daily charge to use use it in the future, which I think is ridiculous. Overall the home was great and we would definitely recommend it.
Here were the [minor] cons:
1. Dishwasher is pretty beat-up and needs some repairs or maybe replacement
2. There's no beach access from this neighborhood (which is clearly stated in the home's description)
3. Bbq pit was dirty (we ended up buying one and using that)
4. Bugs in the house. This wasn't a huge problem, and the house was very clean and well-kept; it was outdoor roaches getting inside the house.
5. Pool lights did not turn on
6. The only MAJOR con for us was that the description stated there is parking for 4 cars, but that is definitely not the case unless everyone in your party is driving coupes. 3 trucks and a jeep did not fit in the tiny driveway."

"Clean Home, Great Views, Lots of Space
We rented this property with 2 other couples and a few of our young children. The house was clean, great location, and offered many great amenities. We loved the views from the 3rd floor roof top balcony, and it was great being able to use the outdoor shower after being at the beach, and to take a dip in the private pool. The beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked great in the Texas heat.
The main thing we didn't like about the property was the layout. The living area and kitchen is on the 3rd floor, and while the views are great, this is problematic for several reasons. You have to haul your groceries up 3 flights of stairs (and then back down when you check out). Also, if some people in your party have gone to bed, and others are still up enjoying themselves in the living room, you will hear every little noise they make. Because the bedrooms are located on the middle floor, every step someone takes up on the 3rd floor echoes through the whole house. When we rented the house, we thought the separation across 3 floors would help people in our group have more privacy, but we found it to be just the opposite.
If everyone in your party is on the same sleep schedule - or if you are a heavy sleeper, then worry not. This is the perfect place for your beach getaway!"

The house was great until we were invaded by bugs! Spiders everywhere! We also had sewage back up on the bottom level and no one came to clean the inside up we had to go it our selves! I felt bad for the maintenance guy bc he'd to come out several times. "
