OVERALL - This rental unit needs some love. I feel like I kept looking for something to feel good about within the unit itself, but failed (moldy shower curtain liner, cook/bakeware cheap and past end of life, outlets loose at the wall). Besides the "guest bathroom" walk-in shower update, the whole unit felt like a cheap flip including the furniture. I ended up getting sick with a stomach bug that lasted the whole week my family was there and I could find little comfort inside the unit. The beds were rock hard. The couch was uncomfortable. Unit was not well cleaned prior to our arrival - cobwebs with a large bug on a wall, visible cobwebs in corners of rooms, etc. While we have no issue with Seashore Vacations and found them to be very professional and helpful, I'd definitely look into other units at this same location if you are looking for something nicer or more comfortable, but want to be close enough to the action. If we come back to the Hilton Head area, we would definitely check to see if this unit had any updates done (especially bed/couch updates) before we searched elsewhere.
*I did find this property to be the perfect distance from the circle - far enough to not have the public beach music to be an issue or feel crowded. You could see the crowd down the beach, but you weren't really in it yourself.* "

"A Gem in South Forest Beach
We stayed in Shorewood 103 during the week of April 17th and enjoyed the comfortable accommodations in a great location. While an easy walk to Coligny and all the amenities in Forest Beach, Shorewood 103 provided a quiet and relaxing getaway from the hustle-bustle vacation activities. Although on the 1st floor, Shorewood 103 has a lovely view of the natural dunes and the ocean just beyond."

Shorewood as a whole is a wonderful property with a great location. It was very nice to be able to walk out the back door straight to the beach. On the other hand, the condo was no where near as nice as the rest of the property. The condo was clean but everything needed updating and some love. It reminded me of a cheap condo you would rent in Panama City for spring break. "

Loved our stay at Shorewood 2022. We have stayed here several times in the past with our boys and now with boys snd their families. Love the closeness to the beach and pool and to Coligney! Have stayed “fancier” resorts but love Shorewood! The condo could use some updates eg new king mattress and walk in showers. But the oceanfront location trumped those deficiencies "

"Solid condo for the price and convenience
Easy, effortless condo with no fuss or muss. Walk out of the patio and just two units down from the path to the beach but far enough away you don’t hear the people at the pool. No messing with steps or elevator. The property had everything you would need and was clean.
The shower heads need to be changed out because there are 5 streams of water and you need to choose one to stand under. The master bed is very very firm so if that’s not your thing, plan for it.
Beautiful property, pool was clean and uncrowded and close enough to bike or walk to the shops or evening ice cream with no effort. "

"Good location but avoid this unit
Location was phenomenal but unit 103 was in poor shape. Very dirty with a swarm of fruit flies we spent the whole trip trying to eliminate. Water damage near A/C vents, knobs falling off cabinets & doors, moldy shower curtains and many other factors will keep me away from #103 again."

Lovely location, great beach for biking and walking, great end of HHI. The condo was adequate and a last minute rental for us. The patio was great and overlooking the dunes and the ocean directly, but the interior, although clean, was very dated."

The only very unpleasant experience this time was all the hammering Tuesday night and all day Wednesday.I understand that maintenance is unavoidable at times However if it is so much you cut your vacation by 3 days .... "

I couldn't have asked for a better location! I wasn't expecting to be able to see the ocean from the forest for but I could. It was very nice being able to go right off the balcony to the grassy area in the front. This was also a very quick easy walk to Coligny Plaza.
There were some things inside that could use some attention like the faucet on the kitchen and the bathroom doors but this was overall a great rental and I would definitely stay here again. Luckily we had great weather so it wasn't a big deal but a TV in the second bedroom would be a great addition."

"Perfect Location
For a family with two young children, this was perfect. Easy access to the beach and pool. Others have commented that the unit was not clean and I can see how they would think that, but it was perfectly fine. Here is the deal with this condominium: it is dated and could use a facelift and some new furniture, but it is completely fine. The location and price make up for any deficiencies. If you are a young family, this is perfect - don’t hesitate."

"Complete Disappointment in Unit 103
I guess in a short sentence this sums up our vacation experience in unit 103...neither my wife or I would sit on the furniture due to the filth and dirtiness of it. This unit was the filthiest condo I have ever stayed at in the 15 plus years of coming to Hilton Head. It was so nasty and dirty that we are not sure that we did not contract bed bugs from the bed. The "white" bath towels that were in the unit had large yellow stains on them and were not usable. I can go on and on describing the filthiness of this unit but what is the use since you can tell by the condition of the unit that the owner takes no pride in the unit. I am shocked the owners of Shorewood would allow a unit in such condition to negatively reflect on them. Others on the property during our stayed also mentioned to us that unit 103 has the reputation of being dirty and in broken down condition. "

"Family Vacation August 2019
The villa is the perfect location. Literally steps from the pool and the beach. It could not have been easier. It was also an easy walk to Coligny for dinner and shopping. The only complaint would be the bed in the Master bedroom. It was so uncomfortable we would likely not book this unit again because of it & instead book another unit that is close to the beach and pool. Hopefully if the bed is replaced it will be noted in the listing. "

We came to Shorewood for a large family vacation. Out of the 9 villas we had rented for the week, this villa needs the most updating but the location was fantastic! Walk right off the back patio to the beach path or the pool. It had everything you need for a beach vacation. Would definitely recommend staying at 103. "

"Needs major updating - very dirty unit
When we arrived, there were multiple dead cockroaches in the unit and one was crawling around the inside of the toilet bowl. I was scared every time I went to the bathroom! We have young children and were terrified to put our kids down on the ground to play. Bathrooms are very dated, mold growing in places, paint chipping everywhere. There were dirty, used linens in the shower from previous guests. Tufts of hair/fuzz were floating all over the condo as well. It was just plain dirty.
The location of the condo is great, Shorewood is an amazing property overall, and SeaShore Vacations were fantastic to work with - but I would never recommend this unit.

Love the location and property grounds and pool area but the condo we rented did not meet expectation and I've stayed at Shorewood in various condos in the past. The rooms and furniture was not maintained and outdated. Beds were uncomfortable. Problems with the AC unit, dryer, and one toilet. Would not rent condo 103 again."

"Great Location - Unit Needs A Facelift
In short, I will stay at the complex again but will look for a different unit next time. The complex as a whole is in good condition and well kept. The pool area is great. This particular unit is in serious need of a face lift and reminded me of an apartment I lived in during my college years. The bathrooms in particular are dingy and the moisture has taken its toll on the drywall. On the upside, there is plenty of space for a family of 5. The unit is ocean front on the first floor and has a patio connecting right the the grassy area adjacent to the beach. This was great for hauling chairs and toys from the beach. The downside is that there is little to no ocean view from the patio. The height of the grass on the dunes blocks out the ocean view from the ground floor. "

The rental had a very strong musty smell as soon as you opened the door and thru out the whole unit. Beds, chairs, couches all felt damp and sticky. Pots and pans had food stuck to them. Needs to be extra sprayed for spider and roaches .Definitely needs a dehumidifier in the unit."

"Very Outdated and Worn Property
This condo is in a great location and the overall property is terrific. We will stay at Shorewood again but not in this unit. Very worn, dirty throw rugs; closets in master and second bedroom stuffed with old furniture with little room for clothes to be hung up; mismatched dishes, flatware; very old stove. Slider leading from master bedroom to patio does not budge--even for my 6'0 tall husband. No Wifi even though the description specifically states it. Numerous other small issues that add up to an overall poor experience."

"Skip to the Beach!!
I am a single mom with two kids (11 & 14). We had a great stay! Condo was more than big enough for the three of use, we had everything we needed in the condo for a comfortable stay, and it was a skip to the beach or pool....We were just a short distance from Coligny Plaza and other shopping/dinner spots. We biked everywhere. Couldn't see the ocean from our unit as we were at ground level and could only see the greenery, but we could hear the ocean and feel the breeze. My kids really liked that the pool was open late every evening for them to enjoy after the sun went down. Condo was clean and everything was operational. Plenty of starter supplies on hand and I liked that the unit was all tile/laminate. "

This is our fifth stay at the Shorewood complex. We have booked all our stays through Seashore Vacations. The overall property was very nice. Our apartment was nice, clean, but a little dated. A negative was the construction going on in the adjacent apartment. Last, we could not connect to the complimentary WiFi. "

What's great about this unit is that we have a daughter in a wheelchair and it is very handicapped accessible. Nor corners to turn to get in and out. Easy access to the beach and pool too. However, the unit is showing its age. Doors and screens don't open and close easily. The unit could use paint and tile cleaning. Furniture is accepatble for the beach, but is aging. French fries from previous renter under the recliner, even though the unit wasn't available until inspected. Cockroach in the kitchen (I didn't tell the rest of the family about that). We'll probabaly look for another unit next time."

We enjoyed the location and the pool. However, the condo "update" was not professionally completed and we felt the unit was very dirty. The couch smelled. The floors were very dirty when we arrived. Also, the sliding screen would not work. With the beautiful weather it would have been nice to be able to use that. The location and pool were great. "

"Beautiful Island - Perfect Vacation - Can't Wait To Go Back
Our family loves to go to Hilton Head Island for vacation. It is our number one beach! It is beautiful there and always well maintained. The flowers, shrubs, and flowering trees are breathtaking. It is low key, meaning quite and serene, and no younger generation there causing trouble or being loud like at other beaches. Our room was perfect for our health needs, clean, and was beautifully decorated. We could go out the front door and our car was there. If we chose the back doors, the ocean was in front of us and we could walk to the beach or go to the newly renovated pool. We could not have ask for a more perfect location, room, and assistance from our booking agent for Shorewood. To add icing on the cake the weather was a plus----perfect! There are plenty of restaurants there to meet each and everyone's cravings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shorewood. Can you tell? Can't wait to go back!!!!"
