Villa Lago 1874 is a private, single-family vacation home located on the North side of the prestigious Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort. Our beaches are known for crystal white sand and turquoise waters of the Emerald Coast. This property is centrally located walking distance .5 miles away from The Village of Baytowne Wharf and quick ride over to the South side beach entrance, approximately 2.8 miles away from the front door of the vacation rental.

Villa Lago 1874, is where you’ll experience your next vacation like never before! This four-bedroom, four-bathroom private rental home is the perfect spot for your group of eight to enjoy everything Florida’s Emerald Coast has to offer! Get out and explore the resort without having to find parking with your own six-seater golf cart or take the Baytowne Wharf Tram. This upscale vacation home has elegant furnishings and coastal décor throughout. You’ll find beautiful white marble flooring on the main floor and wood flooring on the second floor. The large open living and dining areas offer plenty of comfortable seating choices to accommodate the entire group. Whether you decide to dine in or take out, the kitchen and dining area provide all basic supplies your family should need to make a meal indoors. The first guest bedroom is located downstairs which includes a twin over twin bunk bed and a flat screen TV; there is a hallway bathroom access to the walk-in shower. Upstairs you’ll find the master bedroom suite with a king bed, private balcony, walk-in shower, and a deep soaking tub in the ensuite bath. The two additional guestrooms and bathrooms are also located upstairs. The second guest bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite bath with a shower/tub combo, and the other guest bedroom has a queen size bed with access to the guest bathroom with a walk-in shower! Enjoy your own garage, private downstairs patio with a grill, and a full size washer and dryer to make this a perfect home-away-from-home!

"Family Christmas Getaway
Booking was fine. Reserved this back in May, but about 6 days before the stay we all came down with Covid. I was first and the worst. As I got better had to take care of family members. I called Gibson Rentals and asked if we could cancel. Holidays were an issue with commuication. Office closed so I emailed. They did call me back then. They said due to being after the cancel date they could not cancel and give me a refund. They said we might be able to move the stay to later in the year, but we didn't know when we could all get together again and we having to make all these decisions at last minute while still being weak from covid. After not being given much choice and possibly losing $1900, we decided to move all our flights and go a day late despite we were all still trying to recoupe. It wasn't a very pleasant trip. Everyone just sort of stayed in bed resting. A couple of us went out a little. I didn't think they'd want us in the unit because they would have cleaning crew etc coming in and might get them sick...I don't know how long that lingers. When we arrived the unit was supposed to run on Alexa..Alexa didn't work, the oven glass and front of dishwasher didn't look like they had been cleaned or has liquids running down the front of them. The shower in the middle bathroom upstairs was missing a part, so did not work. A light was out in the valance of the mirror in master bath. The battery was dead in the thermostat upstairs so all those sleeping upstairs froze the first night...was pretty cold in Miramar Beach during our stay. And there were no directions for the gulf cart. I tried to go get some groceries on the cart. We couldn't get it to start, finally figured out you have to have the seatbelts on or it won't start. Golf cart has issues too. HAd quite a few issues, eventually sent people out to fix them. Shower fixed last day. I know its difficult to get workers. Its a beautiful home and price was good for Christmas. They refunded a little for our troubles"

"College Golf Week
The location was so perfect for our daughter’s college golf tournament as it was right on the course they played and we could easily access the house right from the course. The house was in good condition and met our expectations. My ONLY complaint was there was absolutely no pantry supplies of ANY kind. No salt or pepper, oil, plastic wrap or anything like that which makes it more expensive than it needs to be when trying to save money by cooking meals at the house. "

"The Perfect Hideaway
This home was spotless and tucked away in a cul-de-sac. The neighborhood was very quiet and beautiful! You're just close enough to Baytowne Wharf, but far enough away to not be disturbed by noise. We would definitely stay here again! We were even contacted for early check-in!"

"Perfect Paradise Getaway
This property was more than perfect for our family of 6. It is beautifully decorated and located in a resort community with a lot of amenities and attractions. The upstairs bedrooms all came with their own bathrooms which was very convenient during our stay. A stack of fresh towels was provided for each bedroom. The house was clean and everything felt new. The brand new washer and dryer came in handy too. The property came with the use of a 6 seater golf cart and was fun and enjoyable to use. We used it to drive to golf course, shopping area and restaurants. There is a cool area in the community which had rides, attractions and restaurants. The property is in a good location and easy drive to anywhere you need to go in the Destin area. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in this area!"

"Great Relaxed Spring Break
We had a couple families down for spring break and wanted to avoid 30A. This was so much better for the kids who were seniors. They could visit 30A but stayed mostly with us or at least in SanDestin. The beach was great and having the 6 seater golf cart worked out great. Fun vacation and would highly recommend. The house was perfect for cooking meals. The only issue we ran into was the grill was in bad shape. We bought a new canister of gas to cook out and you just couldn't get it to heat consistently. Very small issue in an overall great stay. "

"Evacuation
We evacuated after the hurricane hit. I picked up the phone and called since we have stayed with them before. Our place was plenty big enough for 10 people. Alexis was so caring and compassionate. I couldn't have asked for anything else. My mother in law was so impressed that she said she would definitely vacation here in the future. Thank you again for everything you all did for us. We had a good vacation at this property and enjoyed the view. The amenities were great and the home is beautiful. However, there were a few things that need attention such as the cleaning/dusting, the furniture in the living room needs to be cleaned or replaced and the upholstered beds needs to be cleaned as well. The dryer wasn’t working to full capacity and we had a drainage issue in the master bathroom. When we contacted the property manager, they did send someone out immediately regarding the drainage issues. The internet only worked 2 out of the 6 days and 5 nights we were there. Overall this was an okay vacation property but I don’t think I would rent it again for those reasons unless they get resolved."

"Great house!
The house was great- very clean and nicely decorated. The golf cart was great and made it nice to travel back and forth to the pool, golf course, shopping, etc. The only thing that would have been nice was if they provided a few more basic essentials so we didn't have to go buy them for just a few days use- a couple more dishwasher packets, kitchen trash bags, salt and pepper, etc."

"Great week.
It was a great week, except we could not swim in the ocean b/c of the rip tide.

For the price I was expecting a few more upgrades.

Golf cart was great. Key falls out and could get lost easy.

No kettle to heat water for pour over coffee or tea.
Code did. It work to house. Had to get a new code. I called earlier that day and they said they would send it and did not. When they did it was wrong. So when we arrived we had to call the emergency line. Not easy to find on the line to get simple help.

Outside furniture needs improvement. Garage was dirty. No cleaning supplies. Trash out without cans seems goofy and visual unappealing. Beds where plain. No hose on outside to wash sand off, etc. "

"Hiccup with Xplorie Ammenities
We had a nice stay overall. A few things to mention - upon arrival there was a dead roach in the pantry and cheerios on the carpet. A pan in the cabinet looked like it was sprayed with Pam and put in the cabinet. There was also an old bag of cookies in a cabinet. My biggest issue was with the Xplore package. I tried 4 times to reach them to book a tee time (including leaving messages) and texting the number. When Gibson called to follow up on a service call, I mentioned it and got a call right back. He couldn't reach the course but said he would keep trying and call me back. I later got a call from Gibson saying they had an email saying all was set. When we got to the course a couple of days later, they had never called, the lady in the pro shop was very rude, and so we paid. It's a nice perk to have if you choose not to rent directly from Sandestin but if you can't reach them and use it, it doesn't do you much good. The app and communication from Gibson are excellent. "

Beautiful inside and out! Clean, love that all the bedrooms have their own bathroom, beds were great. I love love love the comforters. Golf cart was great to have! You would not have to get in your car your entire trip if you didn't want to. Golf cart to the grocery store and Baytown Warf where you shop, eat and have entertainment, and ride to the beach. This is our 4th trip to this resort but our first to book through Gibson Beach Rentals. We will for sure use them from here on out. The app was very useful, the free activities was a great perk, and my husband loved walking out the back door to fish. "
