My husband and I love Dauphin Island. We have stayed at The Inn at Dauphin Island 4 or 5 times. We love this resort. Always clean, kind employees and convenient to stay on the Island. Perfect views of the beach. We will be coming back to the Island year after year and stay here. Probably the same condo...very very nice.."

"Very peaceful visit and a lovely "home away from home"
The island was the most peaceful Gulf Coast beach we've visited. The Inn was a nice way to stay away from home but still feel like you had a home.
The Inn was clean, cozy and had amazing views. The walk to the beach was not too long BUT it can wear down if it's too hot (we went on the hottest day of the year *phew*)
We will definitely be staying there again when we come back."

"Great location - Quiet Area with Friendly Folks
We enjoyed the condo complex, it's pool and location on the beach. The maintenance person was wonderful as was the woman who answered the phone, though there was never anyone seen at the desk. Highly recommend this complex. The room we had was not clean but hopefully it gets a very thorough cleaning. The restaurants nearby served up good food with friendly service."

"Will return for a future stay - great unit in a great location
Unit was beautifully decorated and clean, the property felt safe, and we loved being high up for the ocean view with easy beach access. Had a wonderful, comfortable week and so glad we found this place. The bird sanctuary, parks, and market nearby were great too. We went in the fall, and it was so quiet and peaceful. I bet the pools are great in the summer. Checkin and checkout were contactless and easy. All instructions I needed were clear. Definitely plan to return in the future. Dauphin Island is a little treasure, and this updated unit was the perfect place to stay for us."

"Review of our fall week at Dauphin Island
This was our 4th visit to Dauphin Island but this time it was only the two of us and it was in the fall. We decided to stay at The Inn in a condo rather than a beach house. Our condo was lovely - on the 4th floor - with beautiful views and simple and tasteful decor. We were very pleased! Our main activities were enjoying the view from the balcony, taking long walks on the beach and watching the World Series. It was a wonderful week! We discovered Dinner’s Ready - the small “gourmet to go” shop that was the perfect compliment to cooking fresh fish and shrimp. We also went out to dinner twice on the island that satisfied our desire for the big “seafood platter.” We recommend staying at The Inn on Dauphin Island in the fall if you are looking for a quiet “old-school” beach vibe getaway! The residents and friendly, the scenery and beach is beautiful and there’s plenty of things to do on the island! "

"Perfection!
The property was absolutely beautiful. The condo was updated, furniture was nice and bed was comfortable. The ceilings were high and the balcony was huge! We enjoyed sunsets on the balcony and the views. Great location and pool. We enjoyed lunch in the bistro too. "

"Amazing Views Amazing Value
Very clean and very well maintained beach front Condo. Fully Furnished including all the cooking utensils you need. My wife and I sat every morning watching the sun rise over the ocean from our secluded balcony. Kids loved the 2 pools and the white sand beach. The island has plenty of places to eat if you don’t feel like cooking and a bunch of shops to browse. We took our family of five to visit relatives up by Mobile and this was less expensive then getting 2 cheap hotel rooms so you can’t beat the value. It will save you a ton more money if you utilize the kitchen instead of dining out. This is the best value you can find on the island. I will be staying here next year when we visit again. "

"Perfect location
This unit was perfect for our family of 4 with two kids under 10. The walk to the beach was easy and we used a local company for beach chairs and umbrella rental that made it easy. The condo was larger and more roomy than we expected and we were comfortable there. We used the two pools everyday so having that was a definite bonus! Everything was clean and we appreciated that. "

"Family reunion
We rented 412 so my brother and I could meet up with our kids and see each other for the first time in two years. Condo was exactly what we needed. Simple. Only quibble - the mattress in the sofa bed, well, uh, it might need to be replaced. But the unit was as advertised. Comfortable, clean and quiet and NOT CROWDED and we were so glad to find the place at the last minute."

"Dauphin Island Is Our Favorite Beach
Unit 412 is decorated nice but needs some maintenance. The dryer barely works. It will only turn on if it’s on timed dry but not set over 40 minutes. The sheets and towels all need to be replaced. The sheets were so pilled that it felt like we were sleeping with sand in the bed. A majority of the towels are very stained and should be replaced. The ceiling fans will only work on low. We had a problem with Palmetto bugs in the unit. When I told maintenance they said it had just been sprayed a week ago. (Obviously it didn’t work if bugs are still there). I had to push a bit but he finally agreed to come spray again, but it was obvious he didn’t want to. We’ve been coming to The Inn for 17 years and it seems like some things are being overlooked or ignored as the property ages. The renal costs are increasing but the attention to detail is not. We love Dauphin Island, but I’m not sure if the Inn is where we’ll be staying in the future."

"Wonderful family vacation
This was our second time to stay at The Inn but our first time to stay at unit 412. We loved the unit and all the decor. The only complaint or issue we had were big water bugs in the unit. We killed one and saw another is laundry room ceiling we could not reach. Other than that unit was clean, great location, and a lot of helpful info inside. "

If you like peace and quiet, this is the spot! We loved how non commercialized the island was. The Inn was very clean and the check in/out process was very easy. The grounds were immaculate. "First Time to Dauphin Island & The Inn
Fantastic and enjoyable time on the island, the beach and the beautiful condo with wonderful views of the ocean. The condo unit was clean and had everything we needed. The heated pool was also very nice. We loved the secure condo and the beach. We were trying something different then the busy beaches of Siesta Key and we loved the less populated beach. The island doesn't exactly offer many shops or restaurants, but we were aok with that and we enjoyed the fresh seafood market and purchased fresh scallops, grouper and shrimp to cook at the condo. Everyone at the Inn was very nice and we were well taken care of. We will be back!"

"Hurricane Stay
We arrived on a Sunday and 22 hours later evacuated due to Hurricane Sally. However, it wasn't our first time on island so I will say the room was perfect with update very nice furniture (not typical rental fare). I loved my bedroom that faced the Gulf. Plenty of cookware and kitchen amenities. I can't wait to go back and finish my vacation."

" A Piece of Peace...
We arrived after dark, no problem, access gate closed, no problem, was given instruction on how to open it and find location of keys, everything was in order.
Property and unit very clean and well appointed. Was a little cool, could not use pool, it appeared very clean and inviting.
Very lovely location, grocery and good food close by, a great diving and surf shop across the street. Loved the fourth floor, great view.
We will defiantly return!"

"Great stay in 412 @ the Inn!
This was our fourth or fifth stay at the Inn @ DI. 412 has to be our favorite, so far. It certainly doesn't have granite counter tops or the newest appliances, but very well equipped, clean, comfortable, everything worked, we didn't lack for anything. King bed in the bedroom was comfortable, great shower, plenty of dishes, etc. A/C and internet worked great. One minor problem with main TV cable box, but it was due to a storm and fixed shortly after we brought it up. Would have liked some lounge chairs on the balcony, but the furniture provided was adequate. Only problem we had on our stay was someone close to us who wanted to smoke every time we were outside. We realize management can't really control that, but sure less than wonderful not to be able to enjoy the balcony when we wanted. All in all a great stay, we're already looking forward to our next return. Will probably try to stay in 412 again!"

Even though my vacation was during Tropical Storm Gordon. I stayed and felt safe. I even got a phone call about what to do during the storm. I loved staying here. I could move in that building and live. Beautiful views from the front and the back of our room. Everything was clean. The staff were all so friendly just like they had known you forever. The only thing about our room is they need some new pots and pans. Everything else was great. I came home and I am already planning another trip here. It's a beautiful peaceful vacation. The walk to the beach looked longer than it actually is. Both pools were amazing as well. It was perfect! "

"A perfect little girls get away
This was our 3rd trip to the inn. Looking forward to many more. We had a perfect time in the condo. A very clean condo, plenty of room for the 3 of us. Bring beach chairs and umbrellas tho. We always enjoy staying at The Inn. We've rented various condos over the years. The location and staff are consistently great. My only issue, in all the years was this year in 411. It didn't have nearly enough drinking glasses or wash clothes. They are small things but it was very inconvenient. Otherwise everything was as wonderful as ever and we'll continue to come back. "

"Fantastic Getaway
My wife and I celebrated our 36th anniversary by relaxing at The Inn 412for a week. It was terrific. We cannot say enough about our pleasant stay.
The room was clean, very well supplied and comfortable. The views, sunrises and sunsets both from our balcony were beautiful.
The entire facility was well maintained and clean. Two elevators to help get up to the fourth floor with luggage and groceries.

I spent more of My vacation time obsessing with the conditions in the unit than enjoying the beach. The towels and wash cloths that were put out for Us were horribly stained and a couple had holes in them. The coffee pot burner was corraded over, I had to scrub it as well as some of the pots and pans. The previous renter had left some used dishes in the cabinet. The balcony grill was left full of grease. Torn sheet on the bed when We turned back the covers. The drapes on the patio foors was so old and stained they were in shreds. One of the indoor wicker chairs was damaged the couch needed some support on one end. I could go on, but I will stop. The overall appearence was clean. The view from the balcony was Great."

"Great Family Labor Day Weekend Trip!
This room was just as pictured. It was clean, welcoming and was perfect for our family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children). The beach wasn't crowded which was really nice. However, be sure to bring everything you will need with you, as the closest store for groceries is back on the mainland about 20+ minutes away. But there is a convenient store.
The only downside to here was the amount of trash that washed up on shore. We found a lot of plastic bottles, cans, glass and the amount of wood debris was mind boggling. But overall the beach, view and room was nice. Checking in and out was a breeze. I would stay here again. "

Our family of 4 recently stayed in unit 412. It was clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and other good amenities. Beds were comfortable and clean. The after hours check in process was super easy. Every employee I interacted with was helpful and friendly. The beach is well kept although it is a bit of a trek from the Inn, just keep that in mind as you load up a cooler :) It was a relaxing and magical vacation thanks to The Inn at Dauphin Island. Would highly recommend renting unit #412! "

"Dauphin Island Vacation
Isolated, expensive island! Even though the floor looked clean, it really needed a good mopping. Electric grill needs to be replaced - we decided not to try using it. Curtains in the living area had dry rot, but you couldn't tell unless they were fully closed. Smoke alarm was 14 years old and needed to be replaced, but was not replaced while we were there. Batteries in the alarm in the master bedroom were replaced. Lisa and Tim were friendly enough, however, if we asked Lisa a question, she would defer to Rebecca. Trash cans were in abundance on the public beach, but hard to find on the private side, which had trash washing up everywhere including a black 5-gallon bucket from the oil rigs. The views would have been excellent except for the rigs - you do not see the rigs in the pictures provided by management on their website. This is a good place to stay if you are passing through. Make sure you take lots of food with you; rally no place on the island to buy any and if you do, it probably would have freezer burn."

"Peace After the Chaos of New Orleans
We arrived from the chaos of Bourbon Street to the peace of an idyllic island! Everything about the condo was as advertised: 1)it was clean 2)furnishings were appropriate for a beach condo 3)everything worked 4)the king size bed was wonderful 5)great view from the balcony 6)the atmosphere was quiet 7) the property manager was most helpful with maps, activities, eateries, etc. We were there for five days so we got to experience all of the island activities and did drive in to Mobile and Fairhope to shop and eat lunch.If you love a beach setting with wonderful sun rises and sunsets this would be the place for you. I would recommend Dauphin Island and the Inn at Dauphin Island to anyone!"

"Perfect Vacation Spot!
If you want powder white sand and an uncrowded beach experience, this is THE spot! The condo was exactly as shown in the online photos. It was clean with upscale furnishings. The fourth floor was ideal for viewing the beach, sunrise, and sunset, and getting away from the first floor pool area commotion. I did not hear any noise from adjacent condos, which was nice! The manager greeted us right away when we arrived. We had WIFI,cable TV, and full-sized appliances in the condo. Make sure you rent beach chairs if you don't bring your own. Parking is secure and grounds are clean. "

"wonderful two weeks
Twenty-eight years on the island, 2nd year here. As fewer & fewer still join us, (dwindling population), we have downsized to the condos. These are as good as you can get. I don't need all the fancy amenities, just a great room with a great view. Generally peaceful & quiet as are we.
The staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful. A smile & a wave every time we pass by the desk on our way to or from the pool or beach.
I'm sure you won't regret this location."

Week of Labor Day was perfect time for peace and relaxation. Love everything the island offers, from the beach to the island length bike trail to the ferry to the awesome eateries! It was amazing to be able to drink my coffee on the balcony and watch the sunrise every morning. Being able to walk over the boardwalk straight to the beach was very convenient. The rental was very well furnished and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to make meals."

"A nice stay
The Inn at Dauphin Island is centrally located and steps from the beach. Even on a busy summer weekend, the inn was quiet and very family-friendly. Room 412 is on the top floor (there is an elevator), toward the western end of the building. The space was comfortable, with modern furnishings, and generally very clean. There was sand in our bed the first night -- but I suppose being so close to the beach, it might be impossible to avoid that! The kitchen is fully furnished with utensils and cookware, but be sure to bring all spices, oils, etc. in addition to food, as the house does not come with any. You should also bring laundry soap and dishwasher detergent; although some is provided, it wasn't enough for us. We had a nice stay and would consider staying here again."

"Winter in the Sun
My condo was beautiful and I plan on returning next year.
I have no problems with the condo but I do have with the Internet service. Loosing connection on and off all day for three months is not satisfactory. Also, the walk way to the beach needs to be addressed. As we get older it is harder and harder to walk through all the sand on the walk way. "

"2014 Vacation Dauphin Island
We had a spectacular time at the Inn on Dauphin Island. The staff was wonderful to deal with; very nice, went out of their way to answer questions. The room needed some deep cleaning (i.e. carpet shampooing) and the kitchen could have used some more dishes / utensils. But I have t o tell you this was the most relaxing, beautiful part of our trip. The views are incredible, the beach was so awesome, we have found are favorite beach hang-out. WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!!!!!"

"Lovely natural beach - great birding island.
Even though it rained for the first part of our 3 1/2 day stay, it was still gorgeous and pristine. We love that the island is still quite natural and hope there is no more building. Preserve the paradise! Our 4th floor view was excellent, elevators worked well, and the condo was perfect for us."

The Inn is one of the best kept secrets for a vacation. Stumbled on it several years ago and have been coming ever since. Love the peace and quiet. Not too far from major places for shopping and/or entertainment. Expect to be coming back for many more years."
