"My Stay in March
Everything was great except no TV in the bedroom at all and none in the living area for a couple days and upon asking about it, was told I would just have to deal with it. It’s not the guests place to “deal with it”, it’s managements place. I couldn’t even get the local news to see what the weather was going to be for the day which interfered with any plan making."

We loved our stay at Dauphin island. The property was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and in a perfect location. We enjoyed spending time on the balcony, the view was awesome. The only problem was that we never found the trash chute to get rid of our trash."

"We loved Unit 406 a nd the location
This was our first stay on the island and we loved every minute of it. The unit 406 was fully equipped with all amenities. The two swimming pools were very clean. There was an electric George Foreman grill on the balcony that was very helpful to cook steaks and burgers. It worked great. Easy to clean. Overall we will stay at The Inn in the future. The only recommendation is a longer bridge to the beach. The loose hot sand is so powdery soft and hot. This is the only thing we would like to see. This place will not disappoint. "

"Wonderful beach experience
Our condo was right on the beach, with a great view from the balcony. Highly recommend staying on the 4th floor. The place was clean and extremely comfy. We at at Pirate's Cove for our favorite meal ... so yummy! And the condo is right across from 2 eating places we walked to for a pizza and bbq. Loved visiting the Audubon bird sanctuary, the 2 Civil War forts and taking the ferry. The aquarium made me sad though ... the animals seemed like they just wanted out. My only suggestion to the owners would be to have some travel sized shampoo/conditioner available. It's hard to remember to bring that on the flight especially when hotels always have them on hand. I would recommend this to anyone, we had a great time!"

"Nice Place!
This condo was very nice. It was one bedroom, but with the couch and bunk beds in the hallway you could sleep 3 more. It also had a fold out bed in the closet. One thing that I always appreciate is plenty of linens. Even though it was a smaller condo, we had lots of extras! I hate to stay somewhere where you have to do laundry every day because there is one set of towels/washcloths per person. The only complaint I can think of was the bath towels had a soured smell. Understandable though, since guests are instructed to put a load in when they leave. A load is bound to get left in the washer from time to time. "

"Perfect girls trip
There was 4 of us gals in this unit. It is decorated with consideration of the guest in mind. The decor was beachy and the paint colors were calming. Plenty of storage with cabinets over the toilets in each bathroom - most condos do not have this luxury! (I have stayed in several condos at The Inn) The beds were comfortable. The views of the Gulf and Bayside were breathtaking !!! "

"A week of sun and fun
Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place to others. The condo was clean and staff was great as always. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues such as a tub that didn’t drain very fast. And outdoor chair cushions that were pretty ragged but we let the staff know and I’m sure they will address these small issues. All minor things.We will definitely be back. We had 14 people in our group staying at this property."

We arrived to the Inn 18 mins before check in and had been driving all day. When I went in to the front desk a lady told me it would be a few minutes cleaning wasn’t done and a fan had to be changed. I said ok and went to the parking lot to wait in the car. I could see my door from my car, no one came in or out of our room. I walked back in at 3pm and someone else was at the desk asked my name and phone number and opened the after hours locker and handed me an envelope. I asked about a parking pass was told oh you don’t need one I said ok and left. We went out grocery shopping late that night and came back and didn’t know the code to get into the parking lot. I had to call the after hours and ask. I looked at my envelope and it has the number wrote on it but it didn’t say what the number was. Tried to hook up to WiFi and individual room numbers pop up but it doesn’t tell you those don’t work you have to hook to the main one. Our tv in our bedroom didn’t work one of the nights, it simply kept turning on to a black screen, the tc in the living room had 6 controllers sitting under it and the one we needed was missing batteries. We did have to leave 2 days early due to tropical storm with no refund which was a bummer but happens. The room was very clean and had a great view and was bigger then I expected. "

"Dust in the wind
My overall stay was great. I was a little disappointed in some of the cleaning like baseboards were dirty , lamps and tv’s and ceiling fans dusty. Coffee pot base has dry burnt coffee that won’t come off. The grill on the patio was dirty I wouldn’t even use it. I have to pay $150 for it to be cleaned. So what are they doing for $150??? We are expected to do our part if not we get charged for it. "

This was our 5th visit to the Inn. The condo was very nice and a perfect size for 2-4. The patio furniture was the best we've seen in any of the condos since they're relatively comfortable and you can see over the railing! Big screen tv in common area. Bring ice! The ice maker is excruciatingly slow. Overall pretty nice."

"A truly memorable vacation
My wife and I stayed at the Inn from September 12th to the 19th. That’s right, we were on the island during Hurricane Sally. Fortunately we were in an amazingly safe location and weathered the storm just fine. We of course lost power but were immediately contacted by the property management when it was safe and everything was made right. The location is great, the island is beautiful and we would absolutely recommend the location to anyone...even during a hurricane. We have visited this property before and will absolutely do so again. "

The unit is great, just as advertised. Very clean, plenty of AC and hot water. Plenty of kitchen supplies, great appliances. The balcony is fabulous, outstanding view, excellent table & chairs. The building is easy to check in with ample parking. It's nice that the parking lot is gated. Two nice swimming pools (one too hot for my liking) and easy access to the beach. The beach is beautiful, fabulous white sand. We loved the fact that it is not commercial at all, very relaxing. Beach chairs and umbrella rental very reasonable. We really enjoyed our experience. "

Wonderful condo and suited us perfectly. I was with my daughter and her 10 year old son so the sleeping arrangements worked out great as well as the size of the condo. Everything was clean and in proper working order. My grandson loved the pool and our view from the 4th floor was spectacular. I love the birding on Dauphin Island and my grandson really enjoyed the Estuarium and the Battle of Mobile Bay re-enactment at the Fort. We even got in some shopping at the arts and crafts fair at one of the churches on Saturday. I have been visiting the island for years for the birding in April. My grandson had a blast and can’t wait to go back. Late check in on Thursday and Sunday check-out were so easy. "

We had a great time, lovely rental, very clean, great location and view. We did agree with previous posts about the weirdly hard mattress, but brought an egg-crate type foam pad and slept well. The place could use more wine glasses, just some regular ones would be great. Really loved that the balcony furniture was bar height, so when you sat down, the horizon and the railing did not coincide, as at many other rentals. We rented this location for the view, so that was perfect. Loved the bike trails on the island, as well as the bird sanctuary. Totally quiet and relaxing weekend."

The rental was very clean and the beach was quiet and beautiful. The location is perfect as the condo is right on the beach. Our only complaint is that the mattress is very firm and was a little hard to adjust to. Other than that, everything was great. The island is perfect for a romantic getaway. The
Food was amazing. We suggest Skinner’s Seafood and Lighthouse Bakery. We enjoyed our stay and are considering returning in the future. "

"Beautiful view, accommodations okay
Upon arrival, unit had a strong odor of fish and used cooking oil that lingered for days. Mattress too hard to be comfortable. Would have slept on the sofa sleeper, but there wasn't one. Paid far too much to sleep on a bunk bed. Visitors are not permitted to smoke on the property but owners do, making the pool and balcony areas unpleasant at times. Property owners with pets walk dogs on the beach and public areas but don't clean up after them. Might stay at the property again but would not select this unit. Left early due to poor sleeping conditions. "

Loved our stay on Dauphing Island. Our condo was perfect for my husband and I. It was beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we needed for our week stay. We loved the option of enjoying the beach or pool. We brought our bicycles to explore the island and the bike racks in the parking lot came in handy. The staff was friendly and the check-in/out process was easy. I would highly recommend The Inn and Dauphin Island. Both are gems."

"Beach trip
We enjoyed the unit. It was clean and fully equipped. Only problem was when we went to use the grill on the porch, the plug did not work. As for management, they where friendly, however, after spending 8 hours on the road, we asked if the unit would be ready early. It was and they gave it to us an hour and a half before check in, but acted as though we were stealing from someone. For that reason, I would not return. If the unit was not ready, would have understood. If it is ready, what is the harm in letting us in earlier."

"Our summer getaway
Our third trip to Dauphin Island and once again we had a great stay. The rain though daily was very cooperative and gave us plenty of time for the beach and pool. As for our condo it worked out great for us and was clean and well furnished. The only complaint was the bed, which may be the firmest mattress I ever slept on and drove my wife to the bunk bed. We would recommend a topper which can be used by the guests but removed for the owners who may need such a mattress. We would however be happy to rent this condo again on our next trip to Dauphin Island."

"Relaxing Area for a Nice Getaway
The Condominium location is very easy to get to and nice parking lot. The checkin process was very easy and staff was very informative. Unit 406 was very nice and clean. A lot of space for an one bedroom unit. The bunk beds are great and the extra 1/2 bathroom was a nice feature. The view is amazing from the 4th floor. The unit was equipped nicely with kitchen items and furniture. The only thing I would recommend is an additional supply of toilet paper and trash bags. In past rentals in other areas, these two items are supplied by the unit. The area is very quiet and beach access is very easy. An outside company provides the rental of chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The two pools allow for plenty of additional swimming space when ready to leave the beach. My family will definitely return to this area in the future."

"Spring Vacation in Dauphin Island
Dauphin Inn is a great location on the island and we liked the gated parking. Loved the beachfront patios and the Island! Unit 406 was ok for two people but would benefit from new linens for the kitchen, bathroom, and sheets/pillows for bedroom. It would have been difficult to prepare and serve a complete meal as there were really no mixing bowls or serving pieces; that wasn't a problem for us as we ate out for most meals. Furniture on patio was unmaintained; very weathered. We had no contact with property management but sufficient written instructions/directions were provided. Building and outside property were well maintained. "

"Dauphin Island Vacation
We were very pleased with our unit for the entire stay! It had anything we could have possibly needed. These pictures on the web site don't do the unit justice. High ceilings, crown moulding, beautifully decorated. The balcony has a wonderful view of the gulf where we were able to watch the dolphins swimming and jumping out of the ocean one morning. When we weren't on the beach, we were enjoying the two pools The Inn had to offer. We loved that the beach was not crowded here. My two children (ages 8 and 3) used the bunk beds to sleep in and had a fun adventure sleeping on something they don't normally get to. My only suggestion to the owners of the unit would be to install a railing on the top bunk and some way to climb to the top bunk. My 8 year old had to be lifted up there. Simply for safety purposes and peace of mind for the parents, the railing would be helpful. It's a long way to the tile floor if someone fell off while sleeping. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time on Dauphin Island and in this unit! We loved The Lighthouse Bakery for breakfast, Barnacle Bill's for eating out and we enjoyed steamed seafood in the condo from Skinner's one night. Delicious! And, Skinner's was very affordable for a family of 4 compared to eating out at a local restaurant. Our vacation was built around a day camp for my 8yo at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Wonderful experience for her! Got to explore areas of the island we would never have known to go to. $50 well spent for a valuable educational experience! We will definitely be back to Dauphin Island and absolutely will be back to The Inn! "

The property and location were great. However, the outside of the building was under repair during our entire stay. We were notified by phone(just a few hours before arrival)that repairs were occurring. We listened to machinery between 9:00 - 5:00 every day."

"A good place to get away
We enjoyed our getaway at 406 and may well look to go back next year. I would recommend ditching the VHS in the living area and getting another DVD player. And, given the fee you have to pay for cleaning, better work should be done on vacuuming and dusting.
But, all that said, we had a good time and would recommend it."

The whole inn was quiet and comfortable with a pleasant staff. The carts were great; only 1 trip up the elevator. The only thing I could have wished for was a hair dryer, since I forgot mine."

"The place needs updating
Great beach and pool at the Inn. Staff was also very friendly. However, 406 needs serious updating. Leaky kitchen sink faucet, rust in the freezer, VCR player (yes, VCR player) was broken, carpets were dingy. "

"A week away from reality
Had a very good trip, room was clean, nicely stocked, management very friendly and helpful. Had one small problem, they took care of it immediately. Felt very comfortable and safe, easy access to room with gated parking. Wish they had a longer boardwalk to the beach, since my wife, and I am sure she is not alone, has had two knee surgeries, and the long walk to the beach through the sand was extremely hard on her. Overall very pleased and will be back next year, and may possibly between now and then, purchase one of the units for sale. Would like for the management to have menus from local restaurants either in the rack downstairs, or in the rooms."

Property was in a good location with a great view. However, the furnishings and unit were very dated. Linens were old and uncomfortable."

"Disappointed
No instructions were given for late arrival prior to stay, so had to call twice once arrived. Very disappointed that the condo had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and had to clean it ourselves before we could unpack. The kitchen and bathrooms were gross. The electric grill, which we had to clean prior to use, did not work properly so we had to continue cooking our food in the oven. One of the toilets had problems. The balcony table was filthy. Our report of all of this at checkout was met with only a half-hearted apology. At least a partial refund should have been offered. Not a very relaxing vacation."

"Relax on the beach
I loved my stay at The Inn on Dauphin Island. I stayed in three different condos. They were all unique in décor. The view was the same which was awesome. I am looking forward to returning next winter."

"The Inn in January 2014
Excellent, all around. One consideration for unit 406, specifically. The TV sets belong in The Smithsonian. Awful, old, blurry, creepy sound. I was told most units have fat screen. A general consideration, the Internet supplier is very unreliable. Almost daily, there were outages from 10 minutes to 3 hours.
All else is fantastic at The Inn , and dauphin in general."
