Master bedroom offers a walk in closet and shower with a Jacuzzi tub that over looks the Pacific ocean. Enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets west. Enjoy cooking in the open kitchen. Enjoy a relaxing time in the hot tub. If you are not a hot tub fan, enjoy the outdoor bath tub and shower. The home also offers a wet bar and fireplace in the living room. Third time staying at Villa California and will be back. Such a unique home with spectacular coastal views. There were previously some maintenance issues with the home that have now all been addressed and it’s in great condition. "

"Uneven Experience
Website promised 3-level home with 3 br with 1 king, 2 queens and 1 single for beds, plus sauna. Main level and master br level quite beautiful; 3rd level seemed like afterthought: br 2 was isolated and br 3 was a single on an enclosed lower deck. No 2nd queen bed was found, which made sleeping arrangements awkward for our son & 2 teenage grandsons. The sauna was locked away. Despite its "ooh ahh" impression, the place needs maintenance! The 2nd shower head in the master was under the sink and the supply water capped off. The toilet cover was broken with the broken piece wedged behind the small wicker stand in the bathroom. Many drawer pulls were missing in the kitchen. While ample plates and utensils were provided, there were no bowls useful for mixing or salads. Whereas most proprietors in our experience provide liquid handsoap & kleenex in bathrooms, here there was none. The guest book offered only the WiFi password, with no information about local businesses (we found many were closed), emergency services (i.e. medical, hospitals), attractions (Pt Arena lighthouse, etc), or house rules. On top of all this, we paid a very high rate which included fees for the hot tub (not used) and "damages" (found many upon arrival!). Fortunately one grandson was young enough to navigate the 7 remotes needed to operate the TV. But, as said, the upper building is lovely & it has a great ocean view, fog permitting. The estate agent was largely unresponsive to questions, only paying attention to our questions about departure."

Went with my family for a little mini vacation. The only complaint I have is it wasn't long enough! Loved the house and how spacious it was. It accommodated our large family and everyone had their own space. "

"Villa California Oct. 2020
This review is a little difficult. The house is clean, has magnificent views, interesting architecture and has some nice amenities (fireplaces, new TVs, hot tub).
Upon closer inspection, however, there are some issues:
(1) for our five days/four nights, we had hot water only occasionally. The tankless system works only for an hour or two and then shuts off. Even if you continually re-open the valve we were shown after first complaining, the hot water does not reach the upper floor level and alternates between hot and cold in the shower on the middle level which makes for a difficult shower.
* The house has three beds and can sleep 6-8 but the kitchen contains only three small water glasses and silverware for four.
* There are plenty of pots, pans and plates, but there are zero mixing bowls, oven dishes, platters or anything to put cooked food on or in.
*The hot tub had a lot of dirt and debris on the bottom (it's black to hide it but you feel it on your feet) so we got out as soon as we got in.
*We had to go buy batteries for four different remotes to get them to work on TVs and the satellite dish."

"So close, but..
This is an amazing house. It has an amazing view and we liked the location even though it is up the hill at Irish Beach and not close to the beach. That said, it lacks a bit of functionality and the owner needs to step up and do some needed maintainance. Worst bit? Currently has a bat infestation. They're not inside, but you can hear them play in the wall of the master suite. That's bats NOT rats. The downstairs bedrooms are very basic and not suitable for anyone over the age of sixteen. It is not a couples house as it stands now. Might work best for a family with a couple of boys."

"Stay in villa California Irish beach
This was our second time staying in Irish beach. We didn’t like the house much. Yes it’s very big ( lots of decks) and lots of unnecessary rooms. This house could sleep more people then 6.
Also it’s really really far away from the main road. It was overcast most of the time and we couldn’t see the ocean.
The nature is really really beautiful around. But it would be the same anywhere I think.
House was not equipped with all necessary things for vacation rentals and was not very clean at all. "

"Desolated Eerie Unclean Nightmare ****
Unfinished abandoned construction project on undeveloped hilltop, weed covered, no cell service. No drapes/curtains entire house, 100% exposed; Spider webs everywhere, spiders on floors; Bed bug bites on thigh and arms; Desolated landscape; Damp, musty, moldy, dark, bleak eerie basement; 1 basement bedroom bare, empty bookshelf, 2 salvation chairs; 1 basement room no bed, black wall/ceiling, sinister wall hangings, haunted, eerie; locked door end of hallway; Closets-concrete, dirt, construction studs; dungeon secret ritual site feeling; None could stay in basement 2 bedrooms, 2 slept on floor, sofa, 2 (new girl friend) on inflatable bed in living/family rooms, no privacy. Beddings smelled body odor, did 5 loads laundry before using; Hot tub unusable-lots white floating objects suspected as semen in water; Visiting relatives compared their less than ½ priced bnb with this as ‘heaven and ****’; Alleged Queen Bed is inflatable in storage space on floor, had to drag up/down to set up; Beddings strewn on bare floor in piles, no bags, not on shelf; 3rd bedroom a loft, no privacy; Loft sink drain clogged, unusable; shower head broke or weak flow, unfit for shower; Showerheads/knobs worn, stained; Only one shower worked, turned cold if water used elsewhere; Dishes, glasses, pots dirty with gooey gunk, hand washed before using; Coffee makers covered with deep brown stains, irremovable after repeated wash. not usable, unfit for thrift shop donation; Toilets have ½ roll paper, requested more, were questioned why not enough, reluctantly provided two more; had to request more towel; more bed cover, received one; Kitchen no foil, dish towel, oven gloves, pot holder; Glass hodge-podge freebies/thrift shop odds ends; Mugs chipped; Unable to use fireplace; Property has No amenities, No privacy, Unclean, Spooky, Eerie, Nightmarish, Bugs galore, Dirty Beddings and Hot Tub. BASEMENT MINUS FOUR STARS!"
