"Shabby and Dirty, but close to the beach
The beach access was terrific, but the house was very dirty and run down. The bedroom had mildewed carpet, a urine stained mattress, dirty comforter and worn mattress pad & stained beat-up furniture. TV didn't work. The living area had a cute beamed ceiling, but minimal and uncomfortable furniture. Kitchen was clean, but lacked even basic condiments like salt, pepper, coffee etc. The house did have nice, locally inspired wall art. The dining set needs refinishing and all the windows were filthy. The fireplace was nice to have, but it was extremely dirty and needs some trim around it. Bathroom had a hole in the wall that let in a roach and a black widow spider. I taped a plastic bag over the hole to keep them out. There was a very rusty ceiling light bucket with exposed bulb in the bathroom. There were used, grimy bottles of hand soap at the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Carport can barely fit a mid-size sedan if you fold in your mirrors and seesaw to get in it. Laundry machines in the garage were the filthiest I have ever seen. The patio furniture was covered in bird droppings and badly faded and rusty. It took several calls to the property management to fix most of the immediate cleanliness issues, which took up half of my 2 week stay and caused me a lot of distress. The staff were friendly and professional about it, but it should never have been rented out in this appalling condition in the first place. The house could be cute, but it needs major TLC, serious refurbishment and regular inspection. House is also in a noisy, party area especially on weekends, with fights occurring right outside my door on each Saturday night. As an adult, I didn't feel like I was welcome there. From the pictures in the ad, I was imagining a charming vintage cottage by the sea, but it was actually more like a college kids party town flop house. Motel 6 is better. The owner clearly doesn't care about it and just collects a check from the management company. It's a shame. "
