"Beautiful Cabin in Quiet Neighborhood
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. As other users have mentioned, the pictures don’t do this place justice. The cabin is quite large but feels homey. I wouldn’t recommend it for a large group but perfect for a family getaway. The upkeep is pretty well and the location is amazing. Our only issue was the rental company. They weren’t of much help during our stay. Additionally, we were overcharged for our stay. After much back and forth, I was told that there was a hidden rental fee by the owner that isn’t listed in the booking. Does that sound legit? Overall we enjoyed our stay but would recommend you thoroughly check your charges. "

"Amazing the Right Weather!
Overall, we were very happy with the rental and management's response to issues. We rented the unit for three nights over the Christmas holiday, and as luck would have it, it snowed about four feet on us. If there is a downside to this rental, it's the steepness of the driveway. Even with 4-wheel drive, it was nearly impossible to get more than one car in the driveway with significant snow or ice in the driveway. It's just too steep (and awkwardly angled). However, absent that, the house was extremely comfortable, well provisioned, and we had a great time! I would certainly recommend a stay, so long as you know what you're signing up for with the weather!!"

"Nice place, servise....not so
Location is great, the layout of the cabin is great. The reason for the 3 star review is because of the four dead mice we found behind the door in the laundry room, the mold build up in the master shower and general replacement of items that need to be extra clean or replaced (covers on chairs in dining room are just dirty looking). After reading the previous reviews, I realized the same issues that were there 5-6 years ago still exist. The place can use a handyman to come in and do some basic repairs. To add insult to injury, I forgot my phone charger in the cabin. They wanted $45.00 to ship it back to me.... Customer service can improve. Regardless, we had fun and enjoyed our weekend. But for the price, they can do a little better. "

"Perfect Winter Vacation
Our place was clean, met all the requirements. We felt safe and it was very peaceful. Perfect way to celebrate my sons 14th birthday. The hot tube was definitely a plus. Our family really enjoyed it. We made beautiful memories. I'm very thankful."

"Even Better in Person
The pictures on the listing definitely didn’t do the cabin justice. It was perfect for our trip. About 15mins away from the store and the kitchen was stocked with most cooking utensils. If it’s snowing during your trip, I highly recommend getting there right at check-in so you don’t have any issues contacting the mgmt office. The driveway is very steep and even with chains my Jeep Patriot struggled to get up the drive. When I got a rep on the phone, she said it was too late for them to send help (at 6PM) and incorrectly suggested I park on the street for the night, which I knew was a big no-no in Big Bear and is especially dangerous. We did have some difficulty in reaching the office on the day of our check out. We were snowed in and had gotten word that the street plow would not arrive until after our check out time. Thankfully we were able get a plow sooner, but mgmt didn’t email us back until 1:30pm. Overall a good stay!"

"Cozy!
We enjoyed our stay. The house is a little older, but it was clean and comfortable for us. It's away from the busier side of the lake, but getting to that area is a short drive, and it was worth it to have the peace and quiet."

"Nice cabin, bad moth problem
My stay was nice. The cabin was very clean , spacious and comfortable. My only gripe is having to spend at least 10-15 minutes each evening getting rid of all the moths that would somehow enter the property. They were everywhere and as soon as you turned on a light they would swarm all over."

"Unnatural vibe cabin

"Nice place but the steps are no joke
Before booking I read the reviews about the steps involved in this location, but I thought I could handle it. OMG, steep and relentless - inside and out. By the time I left my knees were aching. The instruction manual contained everything I needed to know except the TV info. It referred to another info-sheet that wasn't anywhere to be found. I called for help but the return call I was supposed to get never came. No I wouldn't recommend this place. It was pretty and clean but the outside features (which is why I go to Big Bear) were awkwardly inconvenient. It just isn't the mountain getaway I wanted it to be. "

"Beautiful House
The house/cabin itself was just beautiful and clean and just felt very homies. The prefect cooking supplies were provided and bed were very clean. We all loved it there and had a fun time in Big Bear. While in the master bedroom though, every morning at 7:0" am I heard knocking coming from the window from I assume a woodpecker and it woke me up. That's the only complaint. Other than that, the cabin was perfect!"

"Plenty of room
The place was perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Very close to the trails. Great forest views and comfortable furniture. The house was fully stocked with most everything you might need. The downside is that although there is ample closet space the owner has left dresser drawers full. We couldn't unpack, it felt like we were house sitting. Still, I would recommend it. "

"Nightmare Christmas vacation
For the 2016 Christmas my wife and I planned to take our family to Big Bear. Our family included my wife, my mother, my in-laws, my sister and her husband. Driving up to the cabin we saw how small the drive way was a sign saying fit only 2 cars. We called the property management company one of our many times to see what to do since we would have a total of 4 cars with us since the cabin sleeps 8. They allowed us to park 2 of our cars at there location on the other side of the lake. Then walking up the stairs (I want to note that there are 30 steps to get to the front door that is pretty steep, I would be cognizant if you have elderly people with you especially with the black ice and snow can be very unsafe). We walked into the cabin to see that not only did half of the lights not work but the cabins floors and tables were incredibly dirty from the bathrooms, counters and dinner and coffee table. Also the main light did not work, the electrical outlets in 2 of the bathrooms did not work and one of the floor outlets that plugged in the only lamp in the living room was loose and started to spark, not safe for dogs or for small children. I also want to note that the DAY of us leaving the management company letting me know that the owners were in the middle of putting in wood floors but had not had time to finish, but we were not to worry because the owners had tacked down carpet. The carpet was sticking up making it difficult to open and close doors. That night we learned the all outside lights did not work. The day after the big storm we searched the house and the garage for a shovel and salt for the drive way, but nothing could be found. We called the management company AGAIN, to bring us the shovel and half bag of salt. The loft that has the separate two queen size beds very open to the living room which leaves you no privacy and very noise. I would NEVER recommend visiting the Challet. "

"Weekend at the lake
My family and I have not stayed on the Fawnskin side before,but I don't think will city slick on the side again. Not only was the property quite nice but, the surroundings are very serene and pleasant. We were wanting to have a relaxing weekend and that's exactly what we got. Cabin met our expectations for our group of 8! Perfect location - This cabin offers great amenities and the view is simply breathtaking especially at sunset. The cabin was clean and well-maintained. Great board games, DVs, and the Jacuzzi was a plus!!

"Birthday weekend getawag
Overall good weekend! Had a few mishaps at the beginning.. Driveway was very steep and icey at the bottom which made getting in and out very difficult, even with chains. Did not know that only two cars could fit at that was not listed and we had three.. Also had a small leak from the shower into the kitchen and was told that no plumber could come until after the weekend and to just use the 1 shower.. 1 shower with 8 people was kind of hard. Not sure if that issue was fixed or not? Overall a great location and good weekend minus the issues and lack of assistance the first night! "
