Welcome to Popa'a Palms, our tropical vacation home on the east coast of Hawaii Island near the village of Pahoa!
Popa'a Palms occupancy is 6 guests. We have three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, another with one queen bed, and one with two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms. One bedroom and bathroom is upstairs on the same floor as the kitchen. On the main floor are the other two bedrooms, full bathroom and covered wrap around lanai. Enjoy the ocean sound and breezes from the outside. The yard is landscaped with loads of palm trees and fenced for your privacy.

Located in Pahoa on the east side of Hawaii Island, Popa'a Palms is close to the newest black sand beach on the island, created by the 2018 lava flows. Pohoiki is an amazing site to drive to through cooled lava fields about a 30 minute drive from Popa'a Palms. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is about a 45 minute drive and the Pahoa Lava Museum is about a 10 minute drive. The village of Pahoa has several good restaurants and a very nice grocery store.

6. CANCELLATION POLICY (not applicable to Hale Kai Suites. See section f, below): To offer you the best services possible, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy. Guest shall inform Agent in writing of Guest’s intention to cancel the reservation. (For reservations made through third parties, additional cancellation policies may apply.) The cancellation policy is as follows:
a. If Cancellation notice is received thirty or more days (30+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee of $75.00 will be retained and the balance will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
b. If Cancellation notice is received less than thirty days but at least fifteen days (15-29) prior to the check-in date, fifty percent (50%) of the booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. Half of the rent, tax, security deposit or damage waiver and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.
c. NO REFUNDS if cancelled within 14 days of arrival (0 – 14). As a courtesy to our Guest, if Agent can rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that Agent is able to re-book the Property.
d. This loss can be avoided if Travel Protection Insurance was purchased and the reason for cancelation is covered under the travel insurance policy. All reservation changes must be acknowledged in writing.
e. Owner/Agent Cancellation Policy: In the unlikely event that the Property becomes unavailable for any part of the tenancy for reasons beyond the control of the Agent, including but not limited to the sale of the property, Owner and/or Agent may cancel this Agreement and refund in full to the Guest all payments made. Agent will assist in procuring similar alternative accommodation should this situation arise. Guest agrees that any claims against Owner/Agent arising out of performance or
non-performance under this agreement shall be limited to a full refund of all consideration previously tendered by Guest.
f. Hale Kai Suites Cancellation Policy: The guest may cancel free of charge up to 14 days prior to arrival. The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel in the 14 days before arrival. No $75 cancellation fee charged on Hale Kai Suites cancellations.

For eco-friendly, adventure travelers, romantics and those wanting to 'get away' Pahoa is a PERFECT vacation spot to rent a beach house in a lush Hawaiian jungle, but only a few blocks to the beach! Pahoa is located in the Big Island's Puna District. It is also known as the Big Island's hippie capital, a place where New Agers, hippies and others living an alternative lifestyle reside. Where else would you expect to find a nude beach?

Fun Things to Do in Pahoa: The pride of "downtown" Pahoa is its raised wooden sidewalk, the false-front stores and the numerous old buildings, which give it a "Wild West" atmosphere. In fact, Pahoa has the highest concentration of old buildings in Hawaii.
