It was beautiful! And the golf carts were the perfect individual touch to make the stay even better. I dont know what i would have done if i had to walk all the way down the island to get to the wedding!"

"Great place for R and R!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The unit we stayed in unfortunately was very dated and needs a serious uplift! The bed reminded me of Fred Flintstones concrete slab bed. The actual experience of being on the island was really cool! However if you’re looking for a lot of fun things to do, there really isn’t much going on on the island. There is one restaurant which is really good actually, but that’s the only place you can really go to eat. Make sure you bring all the groceries you need because the store is extremely expensive, however the staff are very friendly and accommodating there as well."

"Amazing!!
This island is absolutely gorgeous from the views to the dauphin that played in front of us on the beach for over an hour. The only down fall to this resort is there is only one restaurant on the island. So you have to take the fair and then a 20-30 minute ride to find more restaurants. "

"Two extremes
1. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, except the roads were badly ignored with many potholes and standing water depressions. They need some fill and grading.
2. All staff were delightful and helpful. Melissa and Lisa in the office deserve special kudos.
3. Our unit needed a lot of work...everything needs painting, many electrical switches and receptacles were broken or cracked, cookware was cheap and in poor shape, porch screens needed repair, shower lightbulb burned out, furniture beat up and dirty especially recliner, tile floor hadn’t been mopped in a while, carpet needed cleaning (note, the dirt road material sticks to shoes and tracks in a lot), minimal linens, towels.
4. In short, nice resort, sketchy unit.
5. This would be a great place if the unit itself was kept up"

The best place to go for a true beach vacation. My wife and kids stayed here 25 years ago. It was the best vacation I ever had, so I thought let’s go again. Not much has changed, beautiful beaches, Gulf of Mexico, relaxation at its best. If you like the sun ,sand, and pools, this is the place to go. Restaurant is very affordable, the villas are comfortable and clean. Can’t wait to go again!"

"Two Night Get-away!
My husband and I were in need of a break from work, home life, pet care, etc. We have been to Palm Island last year and knew exactly where we needed to go again for a much needed get-away trip. We live just an hour north, but once we go across on the car ferry, ride our bikes to the lovely villa and settle in.....we feel like we are somewhere "way far away"!! Breakfast on the porch overlooking the Gulf is my favorite part. Palm Island is such a serene, relaxing place. We will be back!"

"My favorite place to be dampered by Mother Nature via red tide!
I have been visiting this resort for 25 years and my ideal place to be if I have free time is here. It is so relaxing and beautiful.
However, I thought nothing could ruin my shelling & shark toothing but I stand corrected. Red tide visited our tiny island and caused everyone to cough while killing fish (hundreds of them) and leaving them on the beach to boil in the hot sun. I know there is no way to predict or stop this occurrence and I have lived in FL for 36 years and never experienced this. So unfortunate and by the time I am writing this the red tide is probably gone and hopefully the beach back to its beautiful self. I cannot wait to get here again and replace this last visit with another wonderful one.
Palm Island is truly a quiet, beautiful, relaxing place to visit and I hope you get to visit there soon!"

"Palm Island Beach Villa
We had a very nice visit to Palm Island. Our vacation rental was pretty nice, however there were some negatives. We could look beyond the few broken knobs inour kitchen however, the one bedroom was in pretty bad shape. The carpet was dirty/stained. The bed was not comfortable at all. The mattress pad was worn and lumpy all over. The bedskit was torn and shoved under the mattress. The blanket had holes and we were not convinced it was clean. The bedspreak was gross! Didn't sleep much the first night. The resort grounds were very nice and we enjoyed the pool & beaches. Mentioned the bedroom when we checked out and were told it was a "Premium Room". New bedding and perhaps a quality mattress pad would have made all the difference for us. "

"one bed condo
This was my 2nd stay at Palm Island resort. I had a 3 bedroom villa the first time but this time I was alone visiting friends who live on the island so I got a one bed. When I made the reservation I saw a few one beds available. I called because I wanted to make sure I got one on the top floor. I booked the only one available on the top floor and paid my deposit. When I arrived I was in a dark one bed on the first floor. I called and they said the top floor one was "under maintenance". They could move me my 2nd night but I was only there 2 nights. If I stayed they said they would give me a discount. I stayed even though it was very noisy. I have not seen the discount yet. I love the resort but the first floor was way too noisy with people and kids running up and down the stairs and playing in the backyard"

Absolutely lovely resort with the feel of being on your own little island community when you get on that ferry to get over to the island. Wonderful grounds and Gulf of Mexico views. Be sure to go to Stump Pass and night fishing and check out the local art fair or anything local at that. The locals are very kind.

We had to be moved from the first villa due the fact that one of the previous guests had gotten sick and it had not been cleaned well at all. (mattress smelled and bathroom had remnants of someone being sick...disgusting!). The villa we were moved to was much better...cleanliness wise. It was a superior villa, but living room furniture definitely needed updating. The view of the ocean was fabulous. We loved the screened porch and ate all our meals there. The beach is practically empty and gorgeous. The sunsets over the Gulf are spectacular. For the most part the staff was friendly and tried to make things right after the original villa disappointment. The resort needs to upgrade all the linens and pillows...they were not up to "resort standards"....we went into town and purchased pillows for our week stay. It is a good place for a family to vacation."

We truly enjoy the property and vacation at Palm Island every summer. Constructive criticism: some of the front desk staff members and the gal working coconuts could use guest service training. However, consistently Dan and the young man who is the supervisor of the coconuts are consistently pleasant and helpful. Some guest service training in key positions would make for an enhanced experience. I would consider updating Rum Bay due to the decore and feel of the restraunt we choose to use the grills on property. "

"1st floor room
we originally were told per the booking website for Palm Island that we were renting a 3rd floor room. We specifically look for this incase there are loud guests and we won't have to hear them bang around above us. When we got to the island we were placed in a 1st floor room. That afternoon and into the next day all we heard was loud banging and scraping noises as it turns out a family with a couple young kids were staying above us. We were woken up by the banging about 0700. The manager was very nice when we checked out and gave us a partial refund for our inconvienence. The point is tho, and I hope Palm Island takes this seriously, is don't rent rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor to families with kids,and rent the room that the website tells you your reserving not a different room"

"AC Broke
We were there as part of the wedding party (GRUBB). Our air cnditioner on the day of the wedding was broke most of the day, which made it "very" uncomfortable that first full day. Other than that we had a good experience EXCEPT for the driver of the golf cart one evening when taking us back to our Villa after dinner at your restaurant. We had to YELL that he was backing into some posts (he would have hit them and injured those of us on the back seat facing the posts!), when we did he coped a major attitude! Other than that we enjoyed our stay and everyone else we encountered! Thanks so much. Will be coming back!!!!!

" -Not Exactly What We Expected
We bought a Living Social deal for . The unit we were given, 3721, was not good;peeling wallpaper, chipped paneling, stained upholstery, broken hairdryer, bathtub not draining, mouldy grout, broken AC. Fortunately,because of the AC, we were moved to a better unit , but if that hadn't happened we would have been stuck with 3721 which reminded me of an old motel room. Because of this, I would not go back. I felt that Living Social customers were being given the least desirable units even though we paid a fair price for off season. I could never recommend Palm Island because of the condition of the units. On the flip side, the service was excellent and very friendly,and the beach and grounds are beautiful and well kept. "

My husband & I were getting away for a weekend alone and thought that Palm Island would be a perfect locations since we live so close. We were right! It was amazing. We were able to enjoy the screened porch early in the morning overlooking the beautiful grounds which included an awesome view of the beach. There was plenty to do if you wanted or you could just take it easy. The couples weekend package was well worth it. Highly recommend it!!!! You won't be disappointed."

A wonderful escape!!! Pristine, clean beaches, beautiful pool and surround. I do have to report that at least one of each the grills in each area did not work. Also, a 6 foot tan.brown snake slithered between both grill areas and I reported the event, but am not sure anything was done about it. My gentleman thought it was a rattler due to the telltale rattles on the end of lengthy tail. Diameter of my two fingers in width. We were also given an offer on the way out of the place that required an instant, impulsive decision that lasted only 24 hours that I did not feel was appropriate. We should have had at least a week to entertain that offer before it went away. We may have taken them up on the offer. Also, we had to replace two batteries---one in the remote and the entire flashlight due to not working. These could have been troubleshot ahead of time, and be part of an inventory checkoff list for each unit. Otherwise, a fabulous experience, my seventh visit over the course of 20 years at Palm Island. The entire staff was professional, warm, and engaging and worked with the visitors and their requests to the best of their ability/availability of request. The villa was well supplied and very clean.I would love to see a coupon offered to your regular visitors to encourage more and regular visits that would extend perhaps 15% off of future visits to be used at ANY time, that sort of thing. The 50% was very enticing, but the impulsive nature of it was offputting.
We will be back at some point to this wonderful resort, and a coupon would seal the deal.

by the attitude of the staff obviously they have moral problems .The food was horrible the service was worse and when i phoned to complain the manager didnt even return my call . Will never stay there again and have warned all friends to do the same."

"First time staying there. Very enjoyable. We will return.
Only glitch was we took the water taxi over to Leaverocks on June 8 at 5.30pm & were ready to return at 7pm but the taxi had shut down for the night. We were lucky in that "Walter" from the Rum Bay Restarant came over in his car & took us back about 8.30pm. The water taxi should ask passengers who will need a return ride & when!!!!"

"the unit we stayed in was very dated.The carpet was very old and their was no dvd player as far as the room went the condiction was very poor.
When we asked for another room we where told their was none avalable. We were told thay have asked the oweners to up date their rooms but have no control over them.I feel the cost of the rental the mantanace of the room should be reflexed. I would ask to be put in a updated room next time if none was avalable I would look elsewhere."

"Short Honeymoon
We came to Palm Island for our honeymoon. It was fantastic! Quiet and private but with plenty of options for entertainment on and off the island. The accomodations were beautiful and so was the weather.
I'll be back next year."

"Experience a combination of friendliness and professionalism.
I had the experience of a lifetime. I called to schedule the Honeymoon Special while talking on the phone I mentioned several times the importance of everything going as plan and how there was no room for error. I was re-assured that everything was going to be just as promised. I called back about a month before my reservation and Kathy confirmed that everything was going to go as promised. To my surprise it all started by the way I was greeted at the ferry, at the parking lot and at the reception office. It was like if I had stepped into a place where everything was about me and my wife. It was enough to show me the place I had selected to celebrate my 5 years anniversary was the right one.
I had taken the Honeymoon Special package which included a renewal of the vows ceremony, being a guy and not thinking about the small details I had not thought about a bouquet of flowers for my beautiful bride; however apparently I was not the first one to have forgotten… I received a personal phone call to my cell phone by no other than Kathy (the same Kathy that had given me a piece of mind a month before) who was going to perform the ceremony. Kathy asked me if I had any particular time for the ceremony, I asked what she recommended and she suggested a sunset ceremony, then asked me if I remembered to bring the flowers and when my answer was no, she once again exceeded my expectations by saying: “don’t worry I’ll have one deliver to your room tomorrow before I go by to pick you up”. It was said and done. Kathy was there to pick us up and to take us to a beautiful spot.
No need to say my entire experience was a success and everyone in the island was great.
