Location, Location, Location
Located along the South Texas gulf coast, Port Aransas is just a half hour south of Corpus Christi, which has its own international airport. It is a 30-minute drive out to Mustang Island, and the pot of gold at the end of the island is the lovely Port Aransas. This particular locale has astonishingly friendly locals, to go with the South Texas charm that surrounds the town itself. Its location on the south Gulf Coast makes it an excellent fishing spot. You will have no trouble limiting out on redfish, flounder, black drum and trout. You can also try your hand at deep sea fishing for kingfish, sailfish, marlin, tuna and more in the "Fishing Capital of Texas".
About Port Aransas
Established as a Mustang Ranch in 1853, Port Aransas is still a very small town in terms of permanent residents, the quaint and relaxing town has only roughly 4,000 residents. It blossoms into a spectacle in season, however, when golf carts take over as the main mode of transportation, and the town's impressive restaurants are hustling to serve up boatloads of Texas' best seafood. It has four huge public fishing piers and multiple marinas from which you can embark on very reasonably priced fishing excursions.
