Grenada

Grenada has a physical beauty that is complemented by its rich history and vibrant, living cultural heritage that one can enjoy from the balcony of the beach villa. Local festivals, fairs, and markets remain a vital part of life on Grenada. Its centuries-old spice plantations and rum distilleries still use traditional methods, emphasizing quality rather than quantity. The spices that come from this island range from coca to nutmeg to cinnamon. Even with the tourists visiting the island, its easy rhythms and the friendly openness of its residents create an atmosphere that is perfect for a Caribbean getaway.
Many visitors come and enjoy the various beaches on the island. About 45 beaches paint Grenada with beauty which makes it one of its most striking features. All beaches on the island are officially public property, which means that the public has access to experience the splendor of the golden sand and sparkling water. An extensive range of water sports is available in Grenada, including parasailing, diving, and cruising. Most resorts offer the full array of beach water sports, and a number of companies specialize in charters and rentals. Whether a novice or a long-time diver, Grenada offers a number of excellent snorkeling and dive locations that everyone can enjoy. The west coast of the island is practically one long offshore reef. Here you can dive above the 600-foot wreck of the Bianca, a cruise liner that went down in 1961. After a day of participating in all the daily activities Grenada has to offer, the idea of going home to a beach front villa will top off the experience for a perfect Caribbean vacation.
While there are many water activates that one could do, there are also many great historical sites in Grenada. Fort George, which is the island's oldest military structure, and the Grenada National Museum, which offers an intimate portrait of island life, are both are great historical sites that should be visited. Grenada has a fairly quiet nightlife, especially when compared to other islands. However, this does not mean that it is nonexistent. There are a few hot spots where visitors and locals go to party until the early morning hours. They feature all the popular music, but with a choice selection of Calypso and Reggae which give them that distinctive Caribbean flair.
