Vacationers come every year to Fripp Island, SC to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Far from being a neon-lit destination like Myrtle Beach
, Fripp is a small, laid-back community about 20 miles from Beaufort, SC. Visitors to Fripp enjoy the 3.5 miles of unspoiled sandy beach, take bike rides, golf, and put their feet up in this scenic, quiet seaside community surrounding their beach house
Guests to Fripp Island can Enjoy the Following Activities on their Trip:
- Golfing on the Island - Fripp offers two courses. The first, Ocean Creek Golf Course is PGA Champion Davis Love III's first signature course. It winds its way through the salt marshes of South Carolina. Ocean Point Golf Links was designed by George W. Cobb and features dramatic oceanfront views on almost every hole.
- Explore the Island - Visitors to Fripp are invited to rent golf carts, bicycles, and kayaks on their trip so they can explore Fripp Island and the many bays and coves which surround it. The island's slow pace means very little car traffic, so feel free to explore on bike or on foot.
- Swim or Play Tennis - We have a few tips for more active vacationers, as well! The Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is open year-round and has eight soft, fast-dry and two hard tennis courts, and all visitors get at least one hour free when they arrive. The Beach Club Village has five swimming pools for various age groups and skill levels.
Fripp Island has less than 1000 permanent residents, but during the summer season visitors flock to this small island to enjoy the fabulous beaches and the secluded, laid-back atmosphere. Get up early and watch the sun rise over the atlantic ocean. Book an early tee-time at one of Fripp's two championship golf courses and relax at the beach if things get hot. Fripp Island also offers a small shopping center for families to enjoy, and several restaurants and casual dining establishments are available if you want to sample island cuisine. From your Fripp Island beach house rental
you can ride your golf cart to the beach or visit the island's oceanfront waterpark. Take things slow and savor the salt air on Fripp Island!
