"Great Location to Escape
Overall the townhome is comfy and in a quiet location and was perfect for our 6 day stay. The kitchen is nicely outfitted to cook meals. The little balcony is nice to sit out amongst the trees and enjoy a morning coffee and afternoon glass of wine (I would suggest some better wine glasses and larger coffee mugs ��).
Bath Towels were scarce, literally 1 per person (up to 4 ppl). Having a W/D was great - so we could wash as needed - especially towels. A few maintenance items were noticed, but didn’t affect our stay. For summer visitors it would have been nice to have pool towels provided and maybe some plastic glasses to enjoy a beverage by the pool. I get that a lot of guests might be driving in and can pack to accommodate, but we flew in from out of town. "

"Lovely townhouse!
I have stayed here multiple times and always a good experience. Photos are accurate, always clean. Upon arrival this visit I noticed the batteries In thermostat needed to be replaced and a light cover had popped off one of the bathroom lights, I sent First Accommodations an email and they were out within 12 hours to fix both. Fantastic place, great service! "

"Nice Stay
This was a good place to spend a long ski weekend as it was near family. Kitchen has been updated and has a good amount of dishes. New floors, but could use a mat or something for wet shoes and snow gear. Place was clean. Bed comfortable but the sheets are old. Little far to walk to the clubhouse for the hot tub and there are a lot of rules (no drinks, not open Sunday, etc). Towels nice and thick, but really could use some hot tub/swim towels as you get 4 bath towels for the condo so if you have more than 2 people, you have to keep throwing them in the dryer. Yes the upstairs sink and tub door need replacing. Easy fix, not sure why it hasn't been done, but such is Lake Tahoe. A little cramped if you have someone sleeping on the foldout couch. Overall, a decent stay for the price. Especially if you do not plan to spend a lot of time in the condo."

"Camelian Bay rental
The pictures of kitchen and living area are exactly what you see. Very clean but..The upstairs bathroom sink and tub are very old, cracked and the porcelain is worn away. The old shower door got stuck and we had to have the maintenance guy come out and fix it. First Accomodations was very responsive. The condo is close to the rock beach and the pool in the Association is very nice. "

"Convenient place in Lake Tahoe
We found the condo to be very clean upon our arrival. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances, pots, pans, etc, however, there wasn't any sort of dishcloth or sponge for washing dishes so we had to go buy some sponges. Having a washer & dryer in the condo was very convenient, especially since the sheets and towels were washed in a very strong fragrant detergent - my husband is allergic to all scented cleaners so we had to re-wash everything. (Definitely a suggestion to the Owner & Property Management company to take this into consideration for future guests and use "free & Clear" detergent.)
The king bed was very comfortable and after being in CA for 5 days coming from VA, our first night here at this condo was the best night of sleep I had since our arrival to CA.
Although this condo doesn't offer a view of Lake Tahoe, you can make a quick walk to the end of the road, and use the big crosswalk to go across the street and you are at the Lake.
Others have commented on the dated bathrooms and the rusty sink and other cosmetic issues in the upstairs bathroom - yes, they could use an upgrade, but in all honesty, how much time is really spent in the bathroom to where this could cause frustration? We enjoyed our stay and appreciate the seamless check-in process."

"Carnelian Woods condo
Stayed one week in this condo during very hot weather in late July. We had just stayed at an un air conditioned A frame nearby which was a miserable experience. This condo was air conditioned and was very comfortable. For Lake Tahoe this was well appointed and up to date.
My only criticism is that the upstairs bathroom which needs updating with replacement of the bath/shower and sink."

overall, we were really comfortable and satisfied with our stay. Our only complaint was the upstairs bathroom, The sink was old, rusting and attempts to cover up corroded areas were peeling and made our stomachs turn. The toilet seat is wearing and needs to be replaced and the wall area around the shower spigot was peeling and pulling away from the wall. A hole was present. It wasn't in keeping with the tidiness and updated features present in the rest of the unit. "

"Ski Vacation
This condo is located in an ideal spot if you are planning to ski at multiple resorts. Most ski resorts are within a 20-30min. drive.. You’re about a five min. walk to Lake Tahoe. Amenities such as towels, hair dryer, dish and laundry soap were provided which was nice. Kitchen is well stocked, including a wine opener and grilling tools. The one issue we had(a minor one), when trying to keep the lower level warm it would make the upper level hot. Directions to the property were great and locating the lock box for the key was easy to find. Overall my family and I had a wonderful stay and we would stay again. "

"Tranquility in Carnelian Bay
My husband and I took a week away in Tahoe to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed 3 nights in the Woodsy Suite. We had an enjoyable time, and wished that we had spent all 6 nights at the Woodsy Suite instead of splitting our time between a South Lake Tahoe hotel and the Woodsy Suite."

Just stayed here last week and found this unit to be perfect for two people. It's very bright with picture windows in living room. Well taken care of. King Bed seems to have a foam like mattress topper, soft and cushy. So much more accommodating and less expensive that most hotels. Just a delight to be there, especially since we had no power at home...."

It was very nice to stay in this Woodsy Suite!
It looks like recently renovated. We love dishes and style!
Just a couple things were missing:
* really tiny cutting board: , we really missed for normal size.
* you unable to use Grill because "...New Insurance/Fire Regulations prohibit BBQ propane tanks to be stored on property in Carnelian Woods Townhomes...." So, I got an explanation from management that some accommodations installed pipe gas grills, but this suite is not yet. Actually, there is a pipe installed but grill doesn't connect yet.

"Great Tahoe vacation stay!
Nice townhouse for the price that backed to trees, so area was super quiet. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Bed upstairs and sofa bed weren't the most comfortable. The extra fans helped my spouse who must have them to sleep. Carnelian Bay is a nice part of North Lake Tahoe, but not much shopping or restaurants within walking distance. "

"Great Place to Relax in the Woods!
Excellent stay! The environment was extremely laid back which was exactly what we were looking for! Kayaking, other water sports, beaches, lakefront dining, shopping all within 3-5 miles or you could walk as well - the condo was nice - had all the basics in the kitchen and bed was comfortable we slept well - the scenery alone would make me come back! Absolutely gorgeous pines, beaches and of course the turquoise Lake Tahoe doesn’t get much better then that - and 75 degrees - perfect weather - great time! "

"Wonderful Facility - Know the BBQ rules. No A/C.
The location, Recreation center, condo itself were all highly valued. This location provides good access to Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, and close grocery stores. The unit itself was very spacious and well endowed with equipment required for a week-long stay.
The management company was stellar. They were very responsive during weekday office hours. One negative was the new rules for BBQ grills. For fire insurance purposes, they are no longer allowed to store propane on site. We could not use BBQ grills at recreation center without month advance purchase of evening rental. The recreation center and property management company are two different organizations. Hence, I had to go purchase a $60 tank of propane to use for the week we were there. My understanding is that they are changing out siding and decking materials so they can once again have BBQ grills on porches. Just be aware if that is important to you.
As far as condition of condo, the screen on upstairs bedroom was not fitting for window so we had one inch gaps around perimeter of screen. Good thing there are very few bugs in Lake Tahoe. We had to buy a fan off of craigslist to keep our condo cool during the night. No air conditioning. "

"Nice place to stay in June
We enjoyed our stay in Carnelian Bay, and two blocks from the Lake was just right. There was nice view of the trees out the back windows, and it felt private to stay there. The kitchenware was good (above average for a rental) and we made use of it for two meals a day. The only thing missing was a measuring cup. We would stay there again."

"Winter vacation
The home was very nice. I would not recommend for a stay of four people. The upstairs room had a large bed but the other sleeping arrangements where in the small living area. They had an air mattress available but it lost a lot of air throughout the night. I also think the Home was over priced for the size of the Home. The electronics were also a bit difficult to work as some did not work at all. It would have been helpful to have a TV list of channels because it was difficult to find a channel that was working. Overall the stay was good and the host was very nice. "

I guess the only complaint was the carpets were dirty and I found hair in the dishes which grossed us out, so we ended having to buy plastic things to use. "Carnelian Woods #28
Our flight got in late from Reno so the rental office was closed. I called the after hours number and spoke with a man who helped us get into the unit. He kept referring to an email I was to have received with the code for the key lock box and the address of the unit and. I only received 1 email and that was in February ( 5 months didn't have an address except to the main office. It also had no code for getting a key. He assured me my email had all this and was 5 pages long. My email was 5 pages and did NOT include any of what he was speaking of. Anyway we were in by midnight. We were wide awake so we watched some tv. While watching we lost signal. Since nothing was coming across either tv we went to bed. The next 2 days when we came home from being out and about we had no tv reception at all. I kept calling the office and leaving message with the service but since it was the holiday weekend nobody helped us. We understood they would be closed but we thought we paid enough money for this rental that somebody could make sure we at least had tv. When nobody called us back after day 3 we called the dish provider who sent out a technician to fix it. They claimed this property has signal issues often. Anyway so that was fixed and then we realized after buying stuff to grill that even though there was a brand new gas grill on the balcony; we were unable to use it due to some law regarding propane. This was not mentioned in the rental post. Other than a couple dirty dishes in the cupboard and a slightly dirty living room rug the unit appeared clean enough. The unit is in a very nice quiet property that sits a short uphill walk from the beach. Very peacefull setting in the trees. We used the pool several days but were disappointed to find the pool and Jacuzzis close at 7pm sharp whether people are in it or not. This was kind of bad since its summer and a holiday week and it's obviously a place filled with families with young children. Motel pools are open to 10."

"A clean and sleek unit that fits perfectly for two
My wife and I stayed in this unit during our ski trip to Lake Tahoe. The size of the unit is perfect for the two of us. It is quiet and located within 30 minutes drive to two major ski areas, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows and Northstar. The unit offers everything you'll need in an apartment. Some of the appliances are slightly outdated but they didn't stop us for having a good time. "

"Wonderful Stay
The property, in the are of Carnelian Bay, seems to cater to summer travelers. Thus it felt quite isolated in early Dec., which we appreciated. Our interests were in hiking, and cross country skiing. We found great hikes, as well as shopping, restaurants, and Tahoe City within a 10 min drive. Groomed x-country trails were also within 10 minutes, and ungroomed trails were within 20 minutes. All of these were located southwest of the condo. We did not explore the area to the north or east.
The condo was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is much better for 2 people than it would be for 4, since the loft bedroom is partially open to the living room, even when the upstairs accordian door was closed. For us, this was not a problem, but it could be for a party of more than 2 people, or for light sleepers.
I highly recommend these accomodation to a couple looking for an outdoor getaway during (early) winter. Its proximity to the lake, should also make it a good choice for those interested in summer activities."

This was our 2nd time staying here. This time was quite an improvement. They did a very nice remodel of the kitchen that has all you need. We loved being in the woods, so nice to get up in the morning and have a coffee and read on the deck, so peaceful. Very short walk to the beach. You could get a drink, breakfast, lunch, rent a kayak, paddleboard, etc. would definitely stay here again. We miss it so much already!

"Amazing Property
I had an amazing time staying at Trent's place in Carnelian Woods. The house is well maintained and is perfect for a getaway at Lake Tahoe. I felt like I was at home during my week long stay here. All the appliances are brand new and work as intended. The location is perfect as its nestled between woods and offers an excellent view. The house looks even better when you visit it. Trent was very responsive and made sure there wasn't any problem during the stay. I would definitely like to visit the place again and stay at the property. I recommend it to everybody visiting Lake Tahoe area."

Great spot! Easily accessible from main road around lake. Stayed here for a skiing weekend and was very convienent to Squaw and Northstar. Loft was as described and Trent was very communicative. He even offered suggestions of alternate properties to better accommodate us. Check in and check out were simple and instructions were indicated in a detailed welcome packet. "

"Great way to enjoy Tahoe
The condo was the perfect way to enjoy Tahoe. The place has been updated, aside from the bathrooms, but, there is a Toto toilet, and if you own one then you know how sweet they are. We were totally cozy with the heater and fire in the fire place and was awesome to have the nice kitchen to cook breakfast in. I didn't get the bed, but the pull out bed in the coach was actually comfortable. Plenty of towels and linens, blankets etc etc. Would totally rent this one again and would highly recommend."

"Beautiful unit
This is a studio loft unit, not a 1 bedroom as advertised. But the condition is almost absolutely perfect. Everything is new, extremely clean. They have the most comfortable sofabed i ever slept on. Management company is weird, they charge a damage deposit months in advance, hold on to it for a while, and have a few pages of rules that i never saw in other places we stayed. If you can put up with them, you will for sure enjoy your stay."

We stayed in unit #28 8/24 - 8/26. Overall it was great. The place was clean and well kept. A few things were not working. The blinds down stairs were a mess and non functioning. We could not get the cable service to work in the upstairs bedroom. The temperature was fine but in the instructions it said to turn down the temp to 60 degrees when we left but upon pushing the control buttons I could not move it at all. It was at a constant 71 degrees.

This property was great for me and my 2 was very clean and upgraded we had enough room. The only thing that was wrong was when we got there the towel rack came out of the wall.We got in late so the next morning I called the property management to report it they were very Nice and said they would take care of it. "Quiet retreat in the Woods of North Lake Tahoe
This was our 4th family vacation to Carnelian Bay. Our adult daughter and her boyfriend traveled from the East Coast to join us for our traditional family gathering. While we stayed in a larger condo on the premises with other family members, they enjoyed this quiet, well-equipped, clean, and updated condo that was tucked into the woods. They enjoyed the amenities of the Carnelian Bay resort with a beautiful pool, ping-pong, tennis courts, bocce ball and basketball court. They shared that the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. They enjoyed kayaking in the early morning hours on the lake, hiking on several nature trails and picnicking at King’s Beach. They are avid cooks and found the kitchen to be well-stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. They did mention that the dish washer is a little dated. All in all, the condo was a wonderful vacation destination. My daughter and I highly recommend this vacation rental. "

"Great Location, quiet and secluded
We enjoyed out stay. The condo was very clean and worked well enough for us. The reason for the 4 stars instead of a 5 star is a few things didn't work. The toaster had a bad smell when it was used, the upstairs TV didn't seem to work. We were hot upstairs but we opened a window and thank goodness they had a fan which was great! The bathroom could use some updating upstairs and the fan stays on the entire time you are in there, the 1 light switch turns on the bright light and fan at the same time so you can't talk to anyone or hear anything while you are getting ready. The entire downstairs and kitchen was very nice and updated. We would stay there again."

The apartment looks a lot newer in the picture than in person, but it's still a great location and condo. The kitchen had everything needed, easy to grab the keys, and little needed to check out when leaving. The only complaint was that we don't think the sheets were washed in the bed we stayed in."

I am pleased to write a review for this location. All the information provided on the listing was very accurate. I initially chose this location for the reasonable price and slightly modern feel. The price was very fair for the space and amenities provided. It was about 20-30 minutes away from Northstar but the drive did not feel long because of the nice views. I appreciated that the space was very clean for our family of 4. It felt like home away from home because it was very cozy and I like my home tidy. I also chose this location because of the amenities such as a laundry and a kitchen. These items help with kids. The only disappointing item is that the kids were looking forward to a jacuzzi but we did not want to travel to the community center for this. Overall, I recommend this to others as this location is worth the price!"

"Nice and cozy condo
We've stayed there for a 4 nights and it was super nice. Quite location, nice view and you won;t see anybody (or just occasionally meet someone around . What else you need to escape from busy big city life?).
I read in comments about wi-fi issue, but it wasn't true, wifi was super fast.
The only issue we had during stay - whether was pretty cold - around 15 in the night and heater turns every 20-30 minutes and it is quite noisy. Apart from that everything was nice."

OMG, what a beautifull site. It was simply perfect. The location was almost perfect cause we had to go back and forth from kings beach to Squaw Valley, but still. Thank you for this wonderfull place to stay. one thing and because i'm not that kind of person that complains a lot. but the pool and and the spa should have been open still, and because it's the IM competition, of course people will use the pool and spa to train and relax before the event. please consider."

"3 day Weekend Getaway
The location was good, the check in was very straight forward, and the place was clean. The only downside is that the jacuzzi is located right next to the main office so it's a little weird having people in the office just watching you while you are in the jacuzzi. They are literally no more than 3 feet away separated by a window. If you are not planning to swim, then this is the place for you! The rec center can be more updated with their games as well. Again, if you dont plan on using the rec center, this place would be perfect!"

"Some good and some bad
Plumbing problems that never did get fixed. The sheets that were on the bed when we arrived were so old and ruff that my wife couldn't sleep on them. We were glad there was better sheets in the closet to use instead. The barbecue grill was so dirty from the last people that we didn't use it."

"Quick Vacation Get Away
Over all we had a great time! The kitchen was smaller than expected. The shower head was too low for anyone over 5'3". Appliances were out dated and the coffee pot was too small. But for the time we spent in the Condo it was worth it! Wish the hot tub
and pool time closings were extended. We would love to stay again."

"Unadvertised "historic" accomodations
This was out first time to visit Lake Tahoe. The location of the condo was good: quiet and walking distance to the lake. The area is rustic and the pool was the one bright spot. We were dismayed to find the condo was of 1970s/80s vintage, hence the "historic" designation. The stove was similar to one we had 30 years ago; we were afraid to stay in the kitchen while using the microwave; the furniture had to have come from the owner's home or a thrift shop; the tv in the bedroom was missing and the one in the lroom had 12 channels; the area rug and throw rugs were heavily stained (we put them in a corner so as not to step on them. I could go on and on...but won't
All in all, we won't stay again in this ancient site!!!"

The house was dirty for what we expected for the price. All the appliances have been there since the 1950's. It took 3 hours and 2 cycles to dry a load of laundry. The spa was barely open and it was one of the main reasons for booking the condo. Please list the hours of operation on your web site. "

upside: the place was well located and the clubhouse well appointed with nice hottubs. The manager was kind & helpful. downside: the condo had a giant unrepaired hole in the downstairs bathroom that leaked, and the place was a little stuffy/moldy and hadn't been updated at all since it was built. "

The decor in this unit is 1970ish junk. The stove, fridge & micro wave are inadequate. The ceiling fan in the bathroom has no grill and the ceiling is held together with tape. Hot water always ran out with only 2 people taking showers. Would never stay here again."

"Expensive for what you get
The location is ok although you need a car to get anywhere.
Old furniture and bedsheets, not a very nice building, air conditioned not working (so it was quite hot at night) and a very small terrace. I think it's too expensive (150 dollars per night) for what you get.
Very disapointing!"

The place is cozy and nice for one or two people. However, it's time to spend a little money and upgrade it from the early 80's. The downstairs bathroom fan cover fell off on my son's head. Some new furnishings and a few more pictures on the wall would be nice. Place is very private and view of woods is very nice."

The only thing that we found frustrating was the difficulty in getting a parking pass, that it turned out we really didn't need.
We ended up just putting a note on our car, but it was kind of a pain walking over there a couple times to no avail.

Great location, nice property. I thought it might be a lot more appealing if the place was up-dated. The bed skirt in the upper "master" was ripped, the bed linens and blankets were very old looking. The couch was very well used as was the other furniture in the unit. Other wise I loved the walking / running trail.The pool was fun too. "

"I would not recommend unit 28, atleast till they fix major issues.
The issues that I have are with Unit 28, NOT First Accommodations. The unit is in dire need of repair, for example there is a light in the closet that is missing and the wires are exposed with no caps on them, very dangerous; the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom is falling down, the upstairs bathroom needs repair also. When you go to sleep the house creaks and pops all night long, so if you are a light sleeper you will be kept awake. The last issue that I had which is no big deal is that nothing in the kitchen matched, the silverware was a mix of at least 5 sets, the plates look to be whatever they could find. In conclusion, if you are looking for a bargain this is the place but just remember you are definitely getting what you pay for in the of case this unit. "

This is the second time we booked a vacation rental. Our previous experience was in south lake area. I think our main "less than positive" comment was the fact that the unit we stayed in seemed to be a lot "older" in side, than our previous experience. Other then that our experience met expectations. I would probably recommend to a freind to try a different location so we could exchange notes and get a better idea of what we our expectations should be."

Although not a 4-star hotel, this condo was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was outstanding, right across the street from the lake shore, and easy walking distance to restaurants.
