Cancellations to any reservation results in forfeiture of $200.00 advance rent deposit. Changes to the booking have to be made Thirty (30) days prior to arrival for Short Term reservations. Sixty (60) days prior to arrival for Monthly reservations. Once final balance is paid there are NO REFUNDS due to cancellation. If you have purchased Travel Insurance with CSA you would need to contact them with questions regarding claims.1-866-4018

The Ac didn't work all week and temps hit 100 degrees. We had a guy come 2 days in a row said he fixed it and nothing. We couldn't sleep at night due to being hot in the room. We deserve money back!"

"Economical Accommodation
This is an average condo that is an economical option for an outstanding beach. It appeared that the condo was serviced, however, the doors and walls are in need of being wiped down and cleaned. The toilet seat in the master bathroom is damaged and chipped. I see in previous reviews that this was already identified. It is recommended that you bring a thick mattress pad as the master bed was very uncomfortable. There was way too much extra furniture and fake shrubbery. This condo was be so much better if the owner minimized the stuff and maximized the quality. The couches were dirty so we covered them with sheets. The blender does not work. We borrowed the neighbor's. And the fridge sounds like it is about to stop working... it makes a lot of noise. The television in the living room is quite small... the owner really should consider getting rid of the giant tv amour and mounting a large 70" on the wall... it would give so much more space. Also, replace the dirty cloth couches with durable leather couches that are easy to clean. Overall, a good condo... despite my many critiques, I'd stay in again."

"El matador 168 stay August 2021
We had a great experience from beginning to end. The reservation and payment process was simple. Picked up the key in the office and was greeted by helpful friendly staff. Arrived at the gate also friendly and helpful and reassuring that there are gate attendants on duty. We were well pleased upon entering the unit, it was very clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with every kind of small appliances and bakeware and pots and pans. I commented that you could easily cook thanksgiving dinner if you wanted to. Beds were comfortable enough. We very much liked the complex location at the end of Santa Rosa Blvd. beach was awesome and we enjoyed having free beach service. Just a very nice experience would do this again. Also great gulf view from this unit. "

"El Matador Review
Overall we had a great vacation. Location was perfect since we were right there on the beach. The unit seems to need some updates. The master bedroom toilet seat had chunks of paint missing where you could see the wood and one side of the bed mattress would make a squeak noise every time you moved (not great if you are a light sleeper). Also, wished the clean spare pillows were labeled somehow in the closets because some of them had pillowcases (which one of them had a stain on) on them and others not. Wish there was a light blanket for the sleeper sofa as well. The unit also needs new paint because some the the baseboards/walls/doors had stains on them. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pans, etc which was nice since we cooked often. "

"Best location on Okaloosa Island
We have been staying at a friend's condo at El Matador for nearly 20 years. She was a "neatnick" and everything was always clean and in good order. They sold the condo in 2017, so we have had to stay at a condo in a different building now. This is our second year in this particular unit. It's best feature is that it is at El Matador. These buildings and grounds are maintained to the max; excellent. Unfortunately, this particular condo is in need of some attention. Last year; towel rack hanging from wall in master bath, and closet door off track and on backwards (still that way this year, but repaired while we were there; and towel rack had been repaired. Vertical blinds on patio had missing slats and no way to open. Found rod in drawer that enabled me to change blind angles, but had to use broomstick to slide blinds open and closed. Bulky credenza in living room for TV. Couldn't view from dining area. Couches old and uncomfortable. Table on patio is too tall. Heavy cast iron chairs and table with glass top in eating area, What's with these cold, glass table tops? We bring table cloths with us to protect dishes. Front door is also in need of repair. It is splitting near the lock. Almost looks as though someone tried to force their way in. Bottom line is "we will stay elsewhere next year". "

"El Matador Unit 168
Our unit was clean and nicely appointed with a nice relaxing balcony view of the ocean. The beach front is beautiful with white sand & clean beaches. It is also less crowded as it is next to the military base & no other condos to the west of property. It is in Bld.#1 which is looking out over a parking lot, then the main swimming pool & boardwalk to beach.The Matador landscaping was well maintained & there is another pool nearby with a workout room & hot tub(must have code to enter). Staff was friendly & helpful and the 2 chairs & umbrella service was great. The only issue with the unit is the towel bar in master bath falls out of the wall first time you take towel off or bump it (minor problem). We also were told the property is no smoking yet there were lots of smokers outside on the grounds but the condo complex interior did not smell of smoke. I would have to give this property a thumbs up. P.S You need to bring extra paper towels,trash bags, baggies etc for kithen if planning on cooking much. Reccomendations while there: The Indian Mound Musem is interesting & good for a rainey day, Stewby's Restaurant is about 2-3 miles inland but great local food for the price (casual order at counter place), the Ft. Walton- Okaloosa Boardwalk is close (nice restaurants & has a nice public beach area), Destin Boardwalk is much larger with more restaurant options but is a few miles farther & lots traffic congestion on weekends & holidays."

Our family totally enjoyed our stay at El Matador. The resort itself is very charming. The unit, however; was absolutely beautiful! The renovations were well done and the view was amazing. In all my years of vacationing on Okaloosa Island I have never had beach service. AJ, the beach attendant was tremendous. Very friendly, energetic and always willing to go the extra mile to make our experience a great one. I will never not have beach service again. We plan to come back next year!! Amazing time."

"Definitely would recommend except.........
Fantastic stay-cation.
Very pleased with the unit, except a few things need to be repaired. Overall very clean, except artificial plants etc. needed a good dusting. The only reason I'm giving it only 3 stars for cleanliness. Towel holders had been repaired in bathroom and drywall dust was left on floor. (Very minor). The grounds are well maintained and the view was amazing.
Would definitely recommend!!"

The condo that we booked EM168 was wonderful! The rooms were spacious and the view was amazing! The only thing that was lacking was beach service ( chair and umbrella). It took up a lot of space to bring chairs and cumbersome to carry them to the beach. We plan to book with Alicia Hollis as we love the customer service we received."
