"Peaceful
The condo was very clean and the view was amazing!!!! Everything was perfect except two things. One is the mattress needs to be replaced In the master it is very worn out. Two is maintenance needs to recaulk the caulking in the bathrooms because there is mold in them. I will return and hopefully they fix these things. We had a great time!"

"Pelican Isle 412
It is very hard to stay in a rental for 2 months that does not have a dresser in th primary bedroom. When we arrived there was only a shower curtain liner in the Master bath. We love the location and plan to stay again next year for 2-3 months and wish these issues were addressed. "

Overall, the stay was amazing! Great views and comfortable enough beds. The only annoying part was the coffee maker. Says to bring filters, but the ones I bought didn’t fit right. The machine also leaked from the bottom. I should of brought my own machine because I need my coffee.
The location was pretty good. No restaurants close enough to walk to, but everything was a close enough drive away! I would definitely stay there again. "

"Not much to complain about
there were a few things that were missing that we would have liked but not enough to say we won't be back. The master bedroom needs a dresser or place to put your suitcase. the bathrooms don't have much counter space. The view was great! Appliances were nice and new. Bonus of having chairs and an umbrella was nice. Wish they had a second place to rinse off sandy feet upon exiting the beach though. Never got in the pool or hot tub so have no clue how good those were. Decent amount of parking and centrally located to everything. "

"Deep clean
Location was perfect. Beach was nice and the kids had fun. The condo on the other hand, was very dirty. The entry door was covered in dirt. You could see the crevices covered in it. There was dust everywhere, and crumbs in the kitchen cabinets. Fridge wasn’t cleaned at all, and there was hair in the fridge. The balcony furniture was dirty as well. We were scared to turn on the fan because there was a lot of dust on it and we didn’t want to spread it. The bathrooms were clean on the other hand. Please deep clean this condo, because it is a beautiful place, with lots of potential. "

Have stayed in many Brooks & Shorey condos, however this will be one that I will not return to. The curtains were filthy, the floor was not clean: sand was everywhere, toenail clippings were found in numerous places of the condo. The beds were horrible, couldn't even turn over without the loud squeaking of the frame/mattress. Dishes were not clean and forks were dirty. This condo left a bad opinion in ever thinking of returning to this complex. "

"Beautiful condo on a Phenomenal beach!
My husband and I spent a week here re-connecting and enjoying the comfortable, clean accommodations with the fabulous view of the Okaloosa Island beach. Check in/check out could not have been easier. Furniture was comfy, there were enough basics in the kitchen, towels were fluffy, the TV provided multiple viewing options - but THAT VIEW! That's why we came! There is even beach service for two each day of the stay and the 'beach boy' was SO nice and helpful. The sauna was so relaxing and we were close to several amenities and dining experiences. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

The condo was very clean , great view of the ocean . The only problem was we lost the internet half way through our stay and every time we wanted to sit out on the balcony we could smell someone smoking so we couldn’t stay out very long ,it was pretty strong ! "Will NOT Stay Here Again
Normally stay at Gulf Dunes but our room there had water damage from a hurricane so they moved us here. I was told it was a better resort than Gulf Dunes! *one elevator would not stop on 4 the first day * dirty towel was hung up and yes it washed out * had to plunge toilet quite a bit * no hand towels in bathrooms * water shut off without warning one day * broken lamp at bulb * extra bed linens in a garbage bag * halls needed sweeping and a paint job * had no convenient place to wash feet after exiting beach * have to use public beach walkways to get to beach * put our things under an umbrella early and went for a walk and ate lunch-came back and our items were moved-person in our chair said Brandon told her to move them * Brandon told us she was an owner and he had to take care of her-I’m a paying guest and that was not appropriate. Love Gulf Dunes and Pelican Isle definitely has a different clientele that is not for the better. Will NOT stay here again!"

We took advantage of several of the free offers that they had and all of them were wonderful. We did not expect all of the freebies that came with the condo. "Pelican Isle
I rented this property the day of my first stay as my planned rental was damaged by the hurricane and the other property manager didn't notify me of that until arrival. Since I decided to not stay in the first property I had to be out by 10 AM and check in was not until 4PM. I called Brooks and Shorey to explain my situation and ask for an early check in, thinking that perhaps the property manager would ask the cleaning staff to prioritize my room. That absolutely did not happen. I actually had to call back @ 4PM because I never received the email I was told I would with the room code. I would not recommend Brooks & Shorey as this was poor customer service. I would not recommend Fort Walton Beach or Destin as it is much too crowded and busy. "

"Awesome view
I loved our vacation rental experience. The view was perfect.The main bedroom bed slept wonderful. We enjoyed great food from The Shack, Bubba Gumps, Rockin' Tacos and the Gulf Coast Burger Company. All were wonderful. We took advantage of the dolphin cruise amenity, which was beyond awesome. I would recommend Brooks and Shorey for your next rental. I have been booking with them for several years with never an issue. The onlt thing with the condo was the balcony door was very hard to open and close but it was a minor distraction."

"Won't be renting at pelican isle ever again.
I spent more on this condo than any other I've stayed in at pelican isle, and the room was exactly the same as the rest, no difference. $1919 for a week, no deposit coming back, so that's the total at the end. They can't keep both elevators going, which makes it a huge inconvenience, especially on Saturday and Sunday when everyone is checking in and out. There's no space to park in the parking garage with this condo, and I had to argue with maintenance, after getting permission from the office manager, to park my Harley in there due to rain all week. (And they had several not reserved."

There was food on a couple dishes and black marks on the wall that could've been cleaned I'm sure. The sliding was very, very hard to open and close but everyone's door was like that. But overall we had a wonderful time with a beautiful view! I would definitely recommend this condo!"

"Long weekend in Ft. Walton
Overall good. The coffee maker did not work and the "ledge" on the sliding glass door is dangerous. Tripped over it every time we walked out on the patio and the door needs some attention as it is very hard to open. Also,usually the beach is "gratded" in the mornings but it was not cleaned the whole time we were there...not sure why they stopped doing this."

Pelican Isle room 412 was extremely clean with a wonderful view of the gulf. The kitchen light went out and maintenance was super quick to repair it. One of the two elevators stopped working and was never repaired while we were there which was annoying. They just put up an out of order sign and never addressed it. Other than that it was a great condo."

We love Pelican Isle and try to stay there whenever we vacation on Okaloosa Island. Location is great and the free beach service is a definite plus. Not disappointed this time. "Great for families
This was our first time to the area. Wonderful condos. Parents with kids should especially like this condo for its keyless entry(no key cards for kids to loose). This unit is located so that u can easily see anyone at the pool but distant enough that noise was never a problem. The elevator is in the middle of this building and unit is only a few doors down the hall. My kids loved the onsite movie rental and the tv's the bunks. Two family's we know staying in other units did not have bunk tv's. The unit was clean and I did like the tile throughout. The only thing I would liked is a larger master bath, but otherwise really felt like this was a great place and would visit again. "

View from the balcony was great and I liked the height of the chairs to increase visibility over the railing but my husband did have concerns about their sturdiness for those weighing more than 250 lbs. A lounge type chair out there would also be nice. I found the kitchen to be well stocked with all the basic meal prep needs in regards to cookware, dishes, utensils though we did forget to purchase salt and pepper so it would be nice if those had been on hand. Overall a fabulous place and the King size bed in the master was one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on in years, however the bunks would be a challenge to use for more than 2-3 nights for anyone other than small children. Dolphins visible most every morn from the balcony. Great stay!"

"Best Vacation
This was the first time I had ever rented a condo or visited the Ft. Walton area. After looking at several places online I booked through Brooks and Shorey. The process was very easy. Upon arrival, check in was fast and easy and the condo was perfect...just as pictured if not better!! Being on the beach and having the chairs set up every morning is the ONLY way to go. We are already looking at reserving the condo next year!! "

We stayed in Pelican Isle #412 for four nights. The room was nice, clean and spacious. We had 6 people in our party, so two bathrooms were extremely beneficial. "Enjoyable!
This was our first trip to the Fort Walton area. Our condo was comfortable and spacious for the two of us. The gulf front view was beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony daily. It's a short drive to beautiful Destin, so we also had the pleasure of experiencing that area. The down side of the condo was that the furniture was worn and had a tear in the chair in the living room. The only other problem was the poor wifi service. It was hard to connect and would often go off. Then the process to reconnect had to begin again. Other than those two things, it was a great trip!"

The condo was exactly as described. The only thing that we noticed was that the blue chair was torn and frayed around the edges. Nothing that affected the stay, but was kind of surprising. Everything else was great. Was pleasantly surprised on how little noise there was from other units. It was VERY quiet.
Would not hesitate to stay here again. "

This place was such a fun stay. I had never stayed in FWB so I knew nothing about the town or Pelican Isle. I was so impressed. Definitely all the little things! Carts to take your luggage up, keypads on the doors so you don't have to carry the key around, umbrella and chair service at the beach, free video rental onsite, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, free dolphin tour, and on and on. The staff is so friendly but they aren't all in your business which I loved. Thank you so much for my stay. It was the relaxing week that I so needed."

"Could be so much better
Best part of the condo was the view and the large TV's. Suggestions: replace mattress as side closest to bathroom felt broken and lumpy. I'm undergoing cancer treatments and was looking forward to getting good rest on this trip but instead was awake most of the time due to uncomfortable bed. Coffee table was broken. Furniture was dirty and needs cleaning. Get rid of the fake plants that are dust traps. The unit needs a deep cleaning overall. Get rid of the large piece of furniture in the bedroom as it takes up too much room - hang the TV on the wall. No hangers in closet - closet had a broken lamp and vacuum inside leaving no room for luggage. No dead bolts on the door or light over the outside to see the code for access. Did enjoy the pool and beach service."

I have been coming to FWB for several years for Thanksgiving and sometimes at Christmas and have always had good experience with Brooks & Shorey properties. Due to Construction at my original choice, Eva upgraded me to Pelican Isles (2nd time that happened).
PI has a great on-site gym, and the pool and hot tub were heated and well utilized during Christmas week.
The unit was well stocked with essentials and very comfortable.
The on-site representative was also friendly and very helpful."

"New remodel was nicely done needed a few tweeks.
I loved the two differ tvs in the bunkbeds because it rained. Ceiling fans were hanging sort of a little scary and the tables in the living area were cracked. BUT everything else was awesome except pool was too small. Good location with the beach and the area, I loved that it was quiet family oriented."

"Ft. Walton & TS Lee
Quite happy with both the location and accomodations involving my stay. Tropical storm Lee overcast our entire time there except for the day we left. The room was quite nice, clean, and convenient to local spots both on the island and with regard to Destin. Only issues were 1) The exhaust fan did not work in the master bathroom, 2) a few marks on the walls of the hallway, 3) Hot tub (whirlpool?) was not well heated. Price was VERY reasonable, sheets/towels/entire condo was very clean. All other "problems" were storm related and should not reflect negatively in any way on property/owners/managers.
We will probably stay there again vs. Destin as it seems to be a more "family oriented - less commercial" beach location and was quite enjoyable under the circumstances."

thanks to Brooks & Shorey for having honest employees, namely Jessica James & a housekeeper Renae, that found my jewelry that I had accidentialy left behind. Before we returned home, Jessica had called a left a message that Renae had found my jewelry and
gave it to Jessica to put in the safe. Jessica called me back on Friday to see how I wanted her to mail it back to me and then a follow up call on Septemer 20,2011 to see if i recieved it. I can not begin to tell you how much my jewlry means to me that my
