Description

This tiny unspoiled island in the British Virgin Islands is a beautiful five mile trip across the Sir Francis Drake Channel from Tortola on the Cooper Island Beach Club boat. There are white sand beaches, no roads and only four privately owned properties on the island, plus the small beach club resort.

The climate is almost perfect with balmy tropical breezes. You'll see coconut palms, bougainvillea, frangipani, yucca, orchids and other exotic plants on the island and a nice variety of birds.

Swim, snorkel, scuba, kayak, fish, hike and explore the whole island or just lie on the beach and relax. The best snorkeling is right off your beach. You'll be amazed at the wide variety of sea life you'll see right there.

Soak up the sunshine on the white sand beach or relax with a cold drink, under your own palm tree, and watch the yachts sail by in the Sir Francis Drake Channel. But if you want more to do, you can take a day sail or rent a rigid inflatable dinghy with motor (right there on the island) to explore other islands or to water ski. All of this can be arranged at the Sea Grape Boutique on Cooper.

If you'd like to have lunch, dinner or drinks at the Beach Club, we have a private path to get you there. Cooper Island is very relaxing and you will leave with a sense of peace.

Amenities

Two lounge chairs are provided on the sandy beach right in front of the house. The best snorkeling is right off your beach.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove and refrigerator, plenty of dishes and pots and pans. The bathroom is complete with an indoor and outdoor shower. An ample supply of sheets and towels are included.

Rainwater is pumped by gasoline engine from the 8,000 gallon cistern to a header tank. There is a solar electric system for lights and ceiling fan, and a small charcoal grill, radio with CD player.

Cooper Island
Fly to San Juan or St. Thomas and take a commuter flight to Tortola. The flight from San Juan takes about 30 minutes. From St. Thomas it's 15 minutes. Or, you can take the beautiful 50 minute ferryboat ride from St. Thomas on the Road Town Fast Ferry. You'll go through customs on Tortola You will need a passport to get back into the USA.

The Cooper Island Beach Club boat goes to Tortola on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on a regular schedule. They leave Tortola for Cooper Island at around 3:30 PM on Monday and 11:00 AM on Wednesday and Friday. Often times there will also be a boat on Saturday. The cost is $15/per person.

If you want to visit Tortola or do some shopping, the boat leaves Cooper Island on Monday,Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 AM. If they have a boat on Saturday, it will leave around 9:00 AM. A special pickup can be arranged on a different day or different time at additional cost. The Beach Club can arrange any excursions for you.

You can shop for groceries and take a taxi to the boat and you'll be all set to go. An alternative is to order from a provisioning company and have the groceries delivered to the boat.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy your 35 minute boat ride to Cooper Island. When you arrive at the dock the Beach Club staff will help you get settled in your home. The Beach Club is the caretaker of the property, should you have any problems or questions they can take care of them for you.

Rates are for 2 people
Each additional adult $20/day (Ask for children's rates) The daily rate for low season is $150.00 and for high season it is $265.00.

We prefer a minimum of one week but if you can't stay that long, we can still accommodate you. If you'd like to stay more than one week but less that two weeks, you may split the second week. 50% deposit with reservation. Balance due 2 months before arrival.

If you need to cancel, your money will be refunded if we can re-rent those dates, less 20% service charge.
