"It was great but the dryer and internet wasn't working
We had a good time at the beach and loved the house but when it was time to come back and relax the internet/wifi didn't work all 3 nights of our stay. Three people including the cable company came and it was not fixed. The dryer didn't work either which would have been nice to have after getting all wet everyday. I understand these things happen but when we paid as much as we did for three nights it would have been nice to be offered a partial refund. The company was responsive to my texts and did their best to resolve the issues but they remained. "

Couple issues: 1. When first arriving the house had a very powerful smell of either bleach or Lysol. They probably should air out the house before having people come in. 2. The internet was out for most of one of the days there. Overall, pretty good experience. "

"Wonderful Fall Vacation!
The house was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room and the bedrooms were all spread out which was nice. The views were amazing from the large living room windows and on the porches out back. The house is in a cul de sac and it’s in a great location to the beach. We visited in October and the water was still warm enough to swim and it was not crowded. We will be back!!"

"Fun at the beach!
We came here with our kids and grandkids. The house was nice and clean. Everything worked out well with plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The upstairs was a little hot but that is kind of expected in the upper part of a house. The only negative would be the view. The pictures on the website show a great view of the ocean but there are dunes in the way. The only view of the ocean was the upper room looking between the dunes. The picture on the website must have been takin on top of the platform that you use to get to the beach. Other than the view it was close enough to eating and to the beach which made it nice for all of us to pack up and drive down to the beach for the day. Overall a good value."

"Nice beach escape
We were scheduled to spend a month here, but trip was cut short by the huge winter storm that wiped out power and water everywhere. Port A Escapes tried to communicate updates and warming and water locations. They were overwhelmed personally and professionally I’m sure, but we felt it was not the best response. Not sure I would want to be in town during hurricane season as things seemed ill prepared for disaster preparedness, or else keep your own stock of water and and essentials as renters. But once things started to come back online, Harry and staff were very helpful in moving us to another home that was fully functioning and prorated our stay. Worked out in the end, just know it might take some pro-activity on the part of renters.
We did enjoy this home for the week and a half we were there. Quiet location, close beach access (though the boardwalk was in need of repair and I often chose the nearby street instead), large living and dining room with beautiful wall of windows overlooking the dunes added to the peacefulness, and well stocked kitchen and linens (the multitude of blankets was a godsend). Be aware that upstairs bedroom does not have a door, opens direct to the stairs. But great views and my husband enjoyed as office space, though noise from downstairs and keeping two young kids away was often an issue.
If visiting in warmer weather, proximity to the beach and cool ocean breezes would be nice. A little too chilly to be outside much in February compared with being slightly further removed from the water. But we really liked the huge driveway and under house patio space for grilling, letting kids play and dig in the piles of nearby sand, and lots of fresh air and space during COVID times when that matters a little more.
Overall a nice home for the area that feels better built and maintained than the cookie cutter complexes. The agency’s maintenance response is phenomenal to every little thing (outside the few da"

"Steps from boardwalk & <4 minute walk to the beach!
Our first trip to Port A and it won’t be our last! This home was lovely and spacious and in a great location. The boardwalk entrance was conveniently next door. Our 3 y/o twins had a great time climbing the stairs of the boardwalk and even walked the whole way to the beach! Maintenance, should you need them was timely! We had a mishap with locking both sides of the bedroom door & maintenance came right away to unlock it. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful birthday weekend getaway!"

The house is decorated so well.
We had young ones and the way the porch wraps the back with railing made for safe play areas for the family to hang out.
Great options for walking to the beach or a quick drive on the beach access made it flexible for our group to come and go to our beach set up.
Highly recommend the rental for a quick vaca to the beach.

"Relaxing stay on the beach
The house is prettier in person. Plenty of room for both me and my sister’s family. It was cool while we were there so we had no air conditioner and just wonderful sea breezes. The boardwalk to the beach is right next door and if we didn’t want to walk, the golf cart ride to the beach is less than 5 minutes. Great location to town as well and we were I. The protected part of the beach which means more beach as the barriers keep the cars farther back, we liked that."

"Dreams Come True Park Place
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the property. There were a few things that would have enhanced our visit. First, we were told that check in was at 4:00pm so we didn't plan to leave our home in Austin until 12:00. We received a text message from the property management company at NOON saying that the property was ready. Had we known that it would have been ready, that would have allowed us to have an additional full day at the beach. The upstairs bedroom was well appointed, but we would have slept better if it had a door. Noise in the house carries and if there are other guests it's not very conducive to a good night's sleep. Although the interior of the property was well-maintained and clean we had an issue with fire ant mounds and large numbers of fire ants on the property, near the trash, and under the carport. Finally, there is a boardwalk directly to the right of the property and it is walkable for most. It might be helpful to note that elderly guests or those who have challenges with mobility may have issues navigating the stairs and the length of the boardwalk. It's also difficult if you have a ton of stuff to take to the beach. Renting a golf cart was a great option. "

"Great Location!
The location was great, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the house was very clean expect the grass in the yard was very high. My grandson almost stepped on a snake. We had 3 small children and could not let them walk in the high yard grass as we could not see what was in the grass. There were several maintenance items that needed attention. The lights under the house were not working. The washing machine was extremely difficult to turn on for 3 moms who are very familiar with laundry equipment. There was a piece of rotten wood at the top of the south stair case that had nails sticking out of it. Over all the place was great but could have been more conducive for small children with the maintenance items and yard maintained better. "

"Nice Enough but Expected More for the Price
House was very nice and welcoming. Appreciated that we could take our pets and unit is very Dog friendly. Very clean with the exception of all the Mildew in both the bath tubs. Not much of a view except when on the second floor and then you get a peak of the ocean. This is absolutely not a "Beach Front" location. I would estimate a good 500 yards. Mgmt and cleaning fee seemed very high."

Overall experience was fine. The "beachfront home" description is a misleading if you aren't from Port A, as you have to traverse a long rickety wooden walkway and cross a main road before you actually get to the beach - that was our biggest disappointment. Many of the fans did not work well and air conditioning barely worked on the top floor. Other than that, property was clean and comfy and we enjoyed our stay."

"Fabulous Weekend
We went to Port Aransas for Sandfest and this house couldn't have served us better! Very spacious and got the ten of us very comfortably. Location wise, this house is perfect! It is right next to the boardwalk that takes you straight to the beach and lets out right by marker 16 which was then a short walk to the festival. Be prepared for the many stairs that make up the boardwalk, however. Also, if you plan on cooking anything that requires a cookie sheet, be sure to bring your own as this house did not have one. I highly recommend bringing your own pillows. The pillows in the house were very, very thin in a couple of the rooms. Overall, we had a great time and felt that this house fit all of our needs for a great value. Also, Port Aransas Escapes was excellent! Very outstanding customer service! "

"Port A Weekend Get Away
We traveled with friends and two dogs to Port A. Our experience was positive, the house was clean, well equipped and the pier to the gulf was close and convenient. The upstairs loft was a great retreat area but the futon bed was a disappointment, I would have made this the master suite if not so uncomfortable. The only other comment is that the cleaning fee was expensive $185 yet the check out instructions had us as the renters doing all of the cleaning there was even a clause that said any garbage left inside the house would be subject to a $50 fee. We are clean people and would have left the house nice but felt the cleaning fee was too much for what was asked of the renters.

I rented this home for some business clients and was very pleased with the place. Nice views, a boardwalk to the beach and the layout gives privacy but is all a few steps from the living and dining for gathering together.
We noticed upon entering that there were several lights out and one of the lampshades was broken, but we called and maintenance was there quickly and took care of all our needs. The management staff went above and beyond to make sure our unit was ready for our guests. "

Five adults and two dogs stayed over Christmas and had a great time. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the whole house is nicely decorated. The 4th bedroom with bathroom upstairs has the best view and a private deck, but the futon was thin (wouldn't recommend for anyone over 25). We didn't need it for sleeping, so it was a nice additional hangout space. The boardwalk to the beach is just outside the front door--we would definitely come back!"

My family and I stayed in this property over the 2015 Memorial Day Weekend. Let's start with location. The location was great in that it is on a dead end street with no through cars. Also, it is close enough to the beach to walk to using the boardwalk provided by the neighborhood. Finally, the property is located on the edge of town away from the numerous golf carts, walkers, and traffic. Next, let me describe the house itself. The layout of the house is decorated nicely with enough space for up to 10 people. Each room has its own decorative uniqueness. All the beds are comfortable and the dressers and closet space provide plenty of room for clothes. The kitchen has everything you could possible need and even more! You are able to see the waves from the upper patio and the second floor patio provides a nice large area to enjoy the sea breeze. We would definately stay here again!"

4 nights, 5 days. We had a wonderful time staying at Tides Out II located at 815 Park Place. The house easily slept 5 people and accommodated 8 for Thanksgiving dinner. The house was nicely decorated and had a warm, homey feel. BBQ grill located in the carport is a little rickety, but served its purpose. My wife is asking me right now, "When can we stay there again?" and my answer is whenever we go to Port A! Be sure to rent a golf cart for fun!"

Great experience overall. The walk to the beach was a little bit longer than anticipated. The house would be great for six adults and four children, but having adults sleep on the futons (listed as sofa beds online) proved troublesome. They were quite uncomfortable. Having the area under the house was fabulous. We were able to play cornhole even in the heat of the day. All in all, it was a great trip in a great location!"

"Great Vacation!
We definitely enjoyed our stay here, it was a great spot. It's a quick walk via boardwalk to the beach, but we rented a 6 passenger golf cart (COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS MORE!!!), so we used that. We used the cart to go back and forth to the beach (2min drive) and back and forth to town (5min drive). The house was great for 3 couples, 2 teenagers (upstairs futon room) and 3 small kids (various inflatable beds, etc). This house has 3 different areas underneath the main floor to hose down your stuff after a day at the beach which is very useful. The general condition of the house was good, no big issues. The house does not come fully stocked with paper towels, garbage bags etc, so you'll have to hit the store for that. There is an ant problem behind the sink in the kitchen. I did call management to get this fixed, they promised someone would be out shortly, but nobody ever came. We had to get some spray and use it throughout the weekend (no big deal). Some of the bedding was worn, the washing machine was "interesting", and the living room Direct TV didn't work. It wasn't a huge deal as we really didn't watch TV and the management company is aware and will fix it. Port A Escapes was very good to work with overall.
Any complaints I have listed were very minimal and really didn't hinder our time there. I would stay at this property again, we had a ball at this house."

"Perfect in every way!
We rented this property with three other couples and a single so had 9 people all together. The bedding description is a little misleading. There are indeed 2 "sleeper sofas" but are really only futons. Both futons are in the upstairs "bedroom" which is more like a 2nd living area. But all in all it was perfect. We will be back!"

"Reserve with questions of Port A Escapes
The home is in a great location. The maintenance staff of Port A Escapes is good except for how dusty it was. (I could write my name on the furniture) There is no comfortable furniture in the living room. Patrick (office staff) is incompetent. I went to the office the 2nd day to get a broom or mop. He said he would get it. Two weeks later I finally went back and he gave me a broom. The vacuum is useless for the sand. When the dryer stopped working and I had to go to the laundromat to dry our clothes, Patrick promised he would compensate me.He never did. As we dropped off the keys when we left, I realized I had forgotten out phone charger. I called Patrick to tell him I would like for someone to get it for me and mail it. He promised he would take care of it and wanted a charge card #. I reminded him I had spent over $10.00 for the dryer so the least he could do was mail the charger without charge. When I didn't receive the charger, I called the Port A Escapes owner. the charger is gone so now I even have to buy a new one. Another example of Patrick's incompetence. Every time I was in the Port A Escapes office, they were busy. The staff either needs to be writing themselves notes and remembering to take care of things or the owners need to hire more staff. For the amount of money we paid, we should have had better service."

I recently had my family down in port aransas to celebrate my birthday. What was supposed to be 7 or 8 people turned out to be 13 people. And this house was perfect for all of us. We were all very comfortable and had plenty of space. It's right at the end of the boardwalk to the beach. Very pet friendly. And
Since its in a dead end street you don't have any traffic to worry about. And it's within walking distance to a convenience store. "

"Home Away From Home
Great location only a few steps from the boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. Beach is PERFECT for walking. House is cozy, airy & bright w/ a well equipped kitchen. We stayed there the previous year & and one could tell there was a little more wear but nothing major. Any problems & Poat A Escapes is right on it. For example, last year the vacuum broke & they brought a new one over the same day. We stayed there in Jan & Feb 2012."

I will recommend Port A Escapes to any one I know traveling to Port A. Working with the staff was a wonderful experience. I probably changed my mind 5 times in the process and they were always so helpful and pleasant. The house was perfect and the people were great. Couldn't have been any better."
