Very spacious, clean and quiet condo. No issues. Our family of 4 enjoyed the week with no interuptions. Staff was friendly and helpful. Furniture shows a little wear, but that was to be expected. All the attractions are within a mile or so. Very Nice We will be back for sure!"

This is such a great condo in a great building for a beach trip. The views are amazing and the condo has a great layout for a family or friends trip. "Enjoyed our stay
The property was in a great location. The desk staff was very friendly. The Brooks and Shorey staff were very easy to work with and very friendly as well. Just a few concerns: The dishwasher was not even put inside the cabinet so when you opened the door to load the dishes it would tilt over. You could see the metal brackets of the dishwasher that were supposed to be used to keep it in place. The bathrooms are very small and the master bathroom is not connected to the master bedroom. The kitchen is small as well. The pictures made the rooms look smaller. It worked fine for my family because we were there for a softball event so we didn't spend much time in the condo. We really enjoyed the beach chair service and having two FREE chairs provided daily. Usually you have to pay for them. Overall, I would recommend the property because of the good location, beach chair, and the nice staff at the desk and the property management company."

"Nice condo
This was a nice condo for the price. Jessica at the office was great and even let us check in a little early the day we arrived. Pros: I really liked that the beach chair and umbrella was complimentary each day of our stay. I also got a free adult ticket for the Waterpark through the office concierge. Cons for the area: We went the week of July 4th so traffic into Destin and on the strip was awful! Also, we had a 2 hour wait for all the good restaurants so if you go, I sugget you make a reservation or go early, around 4pm. Cons for the room: The dryer did not work at all so we had to dry our stuff on the balcony. Also, the AC worked great for the master bedroom, but my daughter and friends stayed in the other room and they said it was really warm. They didn't have ceiling fans in any of the rooms. The table in the kitchen was nice, but as soon as we sat down, the table leg fell off.
Overall, it was a nice stay. The beach and water was beautiful. Also, everyone on the hotel staff was super friendly. It was my daughter's birthday and the woman at the front desk gave her free popcorn. Check in/out process was easy.

The condo was great. Just a pictured. The beds were compfy, the kitchen well stocked, and it was clean. The tv's in the bedrooms were smart tv's that you could stream netflix etc. The main tv was old and didnt have that capacity. The beach was beautiful and beach chair service was great. "

"Value on the beach
If you are a Karen and want to pick apart every little thing I’d move on, however if you are looking for a nice condo right on the emerald coast costing much less than the neighboring condos this one is for you. It looks exactly like what is pictured with some scratches and bumps. Very clean.
Kitchen is very small and stove needs replaced. Would definitely stay again"

"Amazing Vacation!!!
Our condo was Amazing!!! We were very pleased with the layout of the condo since we needed accommodations for 5 people. Everything was clean, organized, and very easy to get to. Our condo was on the right-corner side of the building but we had 2 huge patio windows that made the view of the beach/ocean breathtaking!!! We were notified regularly by email with updates about the condo and checking in/out process. Definitely a perfect condo!!!"

Property management - arrival and departure easy with the app. Wifi and cable TV were good. Beach chair service a plus. The building is dated but being renovated.
The beds were fair but mattresses need replacing.
Pots and pans need replacing warped and don't heat evenly on glass stovetop. What furniture you see in the picture isn't representative of actual furniture. The couch is very uncomfortable. TV was small and only one chair faced the TV. Laundry room had paint cans and a locker with a comforter in a bag - wasn't sure if it was clean or not. Wasted space.
Overall - bathrooms were small so 6 people would be a challenge. I would not return to this property.

Condo location on the island is great. Outside property was clean and nice. With this unit being a side unit I was concerned about view but the view was beautiful. A few concerns with the condo itself: both fans in the bathrooms was very dirty and didn't seem to help remove the heat and steam from the bathrooms so they were very stuffy after showering and we would be sweating by the time we got ready if we didn't open bathroom doors. Bathrooms very small. Kitchen had good supplies but was very tight quarters. Two people could not function in kitchen at the same time.dryer only worked on one setting and took forever to dry clothes. Patio furniture was dirty and had to be wiped off. Condo seemed to be in need if a deep clean. "

We really had a nice stay. Some of the things are broken or old and needs to be replaced. The fixtures in the bathrooms. The dining room table is really sticky and dirty. Counter tops were not clean, still had crumbs. Overall the living room, bedrooms and view were really good."

"Pleasant Stay - Comfortable and Convenient
Unit 606 provided most everything we needed to have a great experience in the Destin area! Overall the condition of the condo could be rated as good - condo is starting to show signs of wear and will need a spruce-up in the near future (dirty walls and minor repairs needed on furniture/oven). The unit had all the basics to make an extended stay comfortable. The balcony offered a great view of the beach. The condo was not available until after 6pm on arrival day which would have been annoying if we planned on arriving at the designated check-in time of 4. The Islander is a short car ride to the hustle-bustle of Destin proper, but the larger pool and quieter beaches were well worth it."

Nice unit, but here is what you won't see in the description: no master bathroom (the front door is between the master bedroom and hall bathroom), only room for one person in the tiny kitchen, furniture looks nice but the sofa is the only comfortable lounging place, the tv's are small, the biggest problem is the Hvac: the thermostat only allows you to set the temp, not select heat or cool - the heat automatically came on during our final two nights with the only option being heat or nothing, we could not turn AC back on. Would not rent again. "

"2BR end unit a good choice
This condo was great for me. It faces west, so you get the sunsets and a view down the beach. I could see the shoreline and sand from the living room chairs and from the dining room table. Layout with bedrooms on opposite sides makes for privacy, and each BR has its own entrance, a nice feature for those who like to come and go without disturbing everyone. Kitchen is a bit cozy, but worked out perfectly for me, with nice view to the outside, and stainless steel appliances are great. Dishwasher nice and quiet."

"Girls' Trip!
The condo was in a great location and we had a wonderful visit. The views were great and it was a short walk to the beach and pool. The only complaints I had were that in the living room the furniture had an awkward layout. We ended up moving it around for the week and it was fine. Also, I think the area rugs should be replaced. They looked very dirty. Also, the drain in the 2nd bath was clogged. Otherwise the condo was very clean and met all our needs. "

"Islander 606
We really loved this place! It was so easy to get down to the beach with our two small children (and ALL our stuff!). The condo was well-maintained and very comfortable AND extremely clean. The furniture was in great condition. We had great views of the Gulf and of the Bay. Two things that could easily be improved: 1.) a non-skid pad needs to be placed under the area rug in front of the sofa - my hisband and I both almost fell a couple of times because of the rug sliding and 2.) there is no big boiling pot in the unit for large pasta dishes - the biggest pot was 2 quarts. Yes, the kitchen is small, but we cooked almost every night in it with no problems at all. The way it is designed one person can easily be in the kitchen itself working and another person can stand at the other side of the island and do prep work."

We had arrived earlier than excepted, management got us in a couple hours early. We had a nice stay,very peaceful. Everything was we wanted to do was no further than 15- 20 minutes away. When the reviews from others said the kitchen was small, they weren't kidding, otherwise everything was clean and in working order. The view was nicer than what I was excepting! I would rent this condo again! Thanks!"

We had a great stay in the Islander 606. This is the second time staying in the Islander and I love it. The pool area is perfect! This condo was perfect for us (2 adults and 4 kids). The only complaint I had was the air conditioner did not seem to work on the right side of the condo, but for us that was not a big deal. I would definitely stay here again! "

"Family Vacation
Condo 606 at the Islander was nice, clean and provided the room my family needed. I would say the best features was having two bathrooms, and laundry facilities inside the condo. The kitchen was very nice, a little tight but very nice. The beds were comfortable. I would rent this condo again. The ocean was still quite visible even with a side view. The TV in the living room was toast when we arrived but the Brooks and Shorey folks promptly replaced it (forgot to let him know he left his flashlight). If I had anything to suggest it would be to check that couch in the living room it seemed broken down and tighten the seats on a couple of the dining chairs they moved around a little. Wear and tear will happen it is understandable. Also, add a good sized stock pot to the kitchen supplies, I had to make spaghetti in a deep baking pan, it worked but a stock pot would be better. The Islander really needs to add some umbrellas to the pool area if you have any influence with them. I asked but was told they didnt have any. Definitely would recommend this condo, we had a great stay. Eating at Old Bay Steamer is a must."

"Great Condo and Great Beach Location
We stayed at this condo for Spring Break. Great view of the beach from the patio and great views of the sunset. Loved the updated decor and the large living space; however, the kitchen is only large enough for one person which is inconvenient. The elevator was out of commission (replacing the flooring) starting mid-week so coming and going was challenging. Moving out was not fun without the elevator!! The WiFi is very slow and we had issues using the DVD player. Would suggest more comfortable seating for more people .... only have small sofa and one recliner. The red/black accent chairs are o.k. from a comfort perspective. "

Condo was nice. Kitchen is rather small but granite tops & stainless steel appliances are very nice. Side view of gulf is still really good. There were a few issues with unit that could have been better. 2 of 3 beds in unit had no bedspreads on them. One of the 2 AC units was very noisy. Closet doors in master bedroom are messed up. Shag rugs on floor didn't seem to be real clean. These were relatively minor issues that didn't really adversely affect our stay, just should have been better. We love the Fort Walton area and have stayed at the Islander several times. Overall, I would recommend this unit. "

"Pictures very misleading
This condo looked good in the listing pictures, but once we walked through the door we were extremely disappointed. The Master bedroom had no comforter, but did in the picture. One of the closet doors was falling off & the ceiling was very dusty near the AC vent. In the second bedroom one of the beds was missing a comforter, pillow sham, no blanket & only had sheets. In the living room the throw carpets were dirty. The dining room table is about to fall apart.The cleaning staff forgot to wipe off the kitchen countertops. I live in Tennessee, but Fort Walton is my hometown & we visit friends/ family quite often. Very disappointing condo."

"Perfect - Home Away from Home
I cannot think of one thing that wasn't wonderful. Checking in after hours was very easy. When we went to the office the next day, everything was ready for us to sign and we were there for only minutes before we were out the door and back at the beach. The instructions for leaving the condo were clear. I found Brooks and Shorey on the internet, and was just a little afraid that we would end up in a place that was nothing like it was presented online. NOT SO!!! If anything, it was better. Very clean. Very beautiful. Very hard to leave."

"Our vacations
The unit was nice, tastefully appointed, with a great view. Overall, we were not disappointed and had a pleasant stay.
I must say, though, that the runners in a hallway and rugs in living room were not clean and looked stained. The unit would benefit greatly if they were removed. The tiled floors are great for the beach vacation, and are easier to clean. Also, the bed cover in a master bedroom was stained with lipstick, and that was gross. The management provided clean blankets and that solved the issue. The tight kitchen worked, but a huge trash bin in such a small space was excessive: the smaller trash bin that fits under the sink would be so much nicer to have.
To sum it up, with minor exceptions, unit was really nice and I would recommend it.

"Review of Islander 606
We have stayed at several locations at Fort Walton Beach over the last 20 or so years. This property does not rate as good as some of the others that I have stayed. The property was very clean and everything worked somewhat. There was several light bulbs that were blown in the room, the toilet leaked water from the floor, no ceiling fans, TV in one of the bedrooms would not work, (remote was not programmed to operate the TV, I found the instructions to program the remote and programmed it myself). The tile floors had been waxed (some time ago), and it was peeling appearing that it was dirty when it was not. The beds left a little to be desired. The furniture in the room was in good condition. All appliances in the room worked. The air conditioner worked well, however it sounded like a turbine when it came on, very loud. Views from the room was good for the angle of the room in reference to the beach. The pool was very clean. All in all this was a good stay but I don't know if I will stay there again.

We have stayed at the Islander before and love the property, but we were very disappointed in 606. The kitchen should have been advertised as an efficiency - it was so small. Pool was closed most of the time. Things were broken in condo and when we called Brooks & Shorey the phone lines were down. Staff were polite but seemed to only want to sell us additional insurance. We will be back but hopefully not with Brooks & Shorey. We did love having the amenity of getting the beach service, which was nice. "
