Unit and location ate fantastic. We would recommend and stay again. The view is amazing and you are right on the beach. 2 beach chairs are complementary and are set out by staff everyday. Everything was perfect, I just don't have any complaints. "

"Needs some TLC
This rental was functional, except for the kitchen. If you plan to use the kitchen, DO NOT rent here! Dishes were stained, some glass cookware looked dirty/greasy. The layout was ridiculously comical. The only place for the refrigerator is in front of drawers so you cannot access them well at all. There was no good place for the silverware, because the drawers can’t fully pull out. So it’s in a tray above the stove.
The bed was very uncomfortable. If you look under the bed you can see the bottom falling out.
Paint was chipping and peeling all over. Furniture was well worn. No decorations so it looked very bland. It definitely did not give off a beachy feel!
We had to hunt for the TV remote which was in a box full of other remotes & outdated CD players above the refrigerator. (We accidentally came across this when looking for the silverware).
BOTTOM LINE: We paid as much as everybody else in that building for a one-bedroom but got much less! The facility overall is fine, just find a different unit!!

"Fun Vacation
We were there for my daughters spring break softball trip with the school. It was a very busy week but a very fun week. The room was great, location was great. People were very friendly and nice. I will be using Brooks and Shorey again next year for our spring break trip. "

"Emerald Towers West 3003 Very Disappointed
Location was great as was the view from balcony. We visit the Island 2-3 x yearly and I have to say this was the most disappointing rental I’ve stayed in. There was no cookware other than 1 ex small skillet and very minimal other items in the kitchen. The living room furniture needs replaced or at least cleaned. It was so dirty and stained we didn’t even use it. Bedroom carpet needs replaced very worn and loose. Need blackout blinds in bedroom. The owners should spend a few days and stay in this unit because it definitely needs upgrades and replacements. The unit was clean and Brooks and Shorey were amazing as always! We’re coming again in December already booked with Brooks and Shorey but we definitely picked a different condo! "

"Anniversary Beach Trip 2022
The unit had the perfect beach view whether sitting on the balcony, the couch or making a meal from the kitchen area. The pool is in the front of the building, just beyond the parking lot, it’s smaller than others, but clean. No hot tub. Overall, this unit was nice and clean. You can see that they must’ve been renovating it by leaving paint cans in the pantry & hot water heater area next to pantry could use new insulation as it is a bit torn. The bedroom curtains & valance were down & left in the closet, inside a big garbage bag. My husband put a blanket over the blinds at night to block the LED light outside the bedroom from shinning through a lot more at bedtime. The unit could use room darkening curtains for sleeping. Otherwise, the bed is firm, comfortable. A/C works good with summertime heat. The bathroom light is dim, could be brighter. The hook on the back of door is broke, needs replacing. The double sink vanity area was nice and well lit, given plenty of towels for a week stay. The washer/dryer combo has a lil age, but works good. The lint trap was missing the cover over it on the door, but no lint was on clothes. Overall, it is a nice unit, just needs a kitchen upgrade with a few minor repairs. And, I would hope that they would keep the paint cans in the future of where I’m guessing was a “locked” utility closet next to the washer/dryer, along with the mop/broom & vacuum inside of it, not in the pantry or bedroom closet. Perhaps leave it unlocked to store those supplies. The perks of having 2 beach chairs, parking pass and one (1) free excursion with a paid excursion for every day of your stay is a plus. Overall, our experience here was an awesome stay and experience!"

"Shark Fishing Guides
Great view, clean condo, and well located.
Shark fishing guide was chumming for sharks from a kayak around 4:00pm approximately 100 yards out from condo’s beach. I found that to be a bit disconcerting given the fact people were still in the water.
8’10” tiger shark landed around 7:00pm. I loved it, most said they weren’t going back in the water."

"Family Vacation
The room was not very clean when we checked in, a shirt was found in the couch, floors appeared to still be dirty, a wet diaper was found in the shower curtain and a dirty wash rag was behind one of the night stands. This room could definitely use some upgrades and at least have curtains in the bedroom. I had family staying a couple of rooms down and their room was way nicer and had more or a home away from home feeling. "

Overall I would say that our experience was not bad. The only thing that was not good was the quality of furniture in the condo. The unit was clean and tidy upon arrival. It has spectacular views of the gulf and that’s about the extent of the positive review. The unit hasn’t been updated since the building was probably built,very dated. We put sheets over the couches because the fabric on the furniture was filthy. The bath and shower had poor lighting and the tub surround had mold in the seams. The bed was hard but was doable. The kitchen was poorly equipped,not a complete set of dishes and some of the drawers we couldn’t open because of their proximity to the refrigerator. There are three chairs on the balcony but no tables to set anything on and the sliding door was close to impossible to open and the handle was loose. I would not rent this unit again. My sister and brother-in-law rented a unit in the complex and it was lovely, so I guess the HOA doesn’t enforce owners to keep their property updated. "

Great location on Okaloosa Island. Unit itself has dirty carpet and mismatched tile flooring, uncomfortable bed located at the front of the unit, not beach facing, poorly furnished kitchen, small tv in LR, broken box Zenith tv in the bedroom, Bathroom ceiling full of water spots with it peeling off to show underlying Sheetrock, small pool facing the road not the beach. Unit is in dire need of updating and major repairs. Location is good and that’s about all. I was surprised Brooks and Shorey rental management would represent this unit. Extremely disappointed!!!!"

"Fall Break Getaway
Our family had two condos at Emerald Towers. It was our first time at this location. Our one bedroom condo was very outdated and the twin bed mattresses were horrible, not even the kids could sleep on them, but the house was clean and overall fairly comfortable. We all liked the location, but I’ll select a different condo next time. "

"Very Dated & Mis-matched
The building properties were fine. The condo we were in is very outdated, miss matched, kitchen appliances old and not very well stocked with cookware. We did kill a large roach in living area. Carpet desperately needs replacing and clean out the closets filled with old bedding. The bedroom furniture is very worn as well. Master has blinds, but not curtains for morning sun. Drawers don't work well. We are return customers to Brooks and Shorey, but they may want to reconsider representing this property."

"Great Location with Gorgeous View
We have stayed at several different condos on Okaloosa Island, but this was our first time staying at this particular location. It didn’t disappoint! The location was great. It wasn’t crowded, and everything was in working order except the dishwasher. Sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn’t. The only other complaint I have is that someone was remodeling in the unit above ours and they would work up until promptly 10:45 each night. This would likely not be an ongoing problem and shouldn’t deter anyone from booking this unit. It was clean and the views were great!"

"57th anniversery celebration
We have come to Ft. Walton for many years for our anniversary and we feel like we have a fair idea of what is a fair price for accommodations as to fair pricing. This was the ,least satisfying condo we have had. We have several suggestions on what they can improve on. It was one of few condos that had NO table on the balcony. That is a MUST. I had to use our cooler,
They need more lighting , especially on the left side of the couch One couldn't read there.. They need an updated TV. It was one level above black and white. The kitchen was rediculous. Half the drawers were blocked by the refrigerator. We feel it was overpriced for what we got. This building was in a lot of disrepair as one side looked to be collapsing. I would not choose this building our this ciondo again. I'm not bitter, I am just trying to priovide input for the condo owners. We hope the owners will take these suggestions under advisement in the furture."

We really did enjoy our stay here. There were a few issues with the room that I felt like they should have gave me a portion of my money back for having to deal with. There was a small annoying leak right above the couch in the living room, I had to hook the wi-FI up myself from where the last tenant disconnected it, the pantry door kept falling on us when we would open it, the phone rang with telemarketers nonstop and one night the tenants above us were smoking marijuana. I let the office know about these issues when we checked out but wasn't offered anything for the troubles. I would recommend this condo still but it does need just a couple small fixes."

"We LOVE Okaloosa! Great Place!
We seriously couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The things we would improve are very minor and would not prevent us from rebooking this condo. The Pros-very clean unit and larger than we expected. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. They had everything covered-cork screw, pitchers, extra ice cube trays although the fridge has an ice maker. Lots of glasses and plenty of cookware.The King size bed we found to be very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the balcony every day and was able to watch the Dolphins on a regular basis :) We truly enjoyed ourselves and the beach is like no other! Simply breath taking! Sand is ALWAYS cool, can walk quite a distance, and very low crowds. So for us it was perfect. We enjoyed watching the air force planes flying over every so often. Plenty of restaurants near by and not far from Destin if you need more action. We will definitely be back every year I'm sure. Cons-the pool is not beachside, but we didn't miss it. We spent our time at the beach in the ocean. We did find a luggage cart, but would nice if each floor had one. This too was not a big deal. Overall, we would recommend this place and this unit. :)"

Very nice condo. Lots of new updates. Has an old TV in bedroom but who watches TV while on vacation on the beach. The condo was very clean with lots of new updates.The only things that need replacing are the chairs on the balcony. The chairs were rusty and falling apart. We have stayed in most of the brooks and Shorey condos. All have had the pool on the beach side of the condo. This pool was in the parking lot. Not sure what the thought was there. "

"Beautiful View
My husband and I along with our four children stayed here. It was a great setup and not far from the attractions. The kids loved the balcony, and were excited to have a dolphin sighting on our first morning out on the balcony. My only suggestion to renters is to be sure to bring dish and clothes detergent. There weren't any and we had to wash dishes with bar soap. I would suggest to the owners to maybe supply a single/travel size of both so they tenant may be prepared, if not list that renters need to supply it. The amenities were great and kitchen stocked. Overall we would definitely stay here again."

The condo was very clean and the pictures were fairly accurate. However, the unit is relatively sparse and needs to be updated. The kitchen has the bare minimum of supplies needed to prepare a meal. The blinds in the living area are damaged-missing a few rows of blinds which allowed the early morning light in making it difficult to sleep past sunrise. The sofa bed needs to be replaced-it was miserably uncomfortable. The best part of the unit was the location which provided spectacular views of the gulf and the beautiful beach."

We loved having the balcony looking out over the beach to the ocean. The location was wonderful & we loved being right on the beach. The unit was very clean & nice. We did have to buy toilette paper, papertowels, dishwashing tablets & dishsoap. For the price I would have liked to have had that provided. I am more of a hotel suite person for vacation. I don't like having to wash the towels & washcloths on vacation & I like my room cleaned, sheets changed everyday. We made the mistake of getting a 1 bedroom for 4 adults. The foldout couch & bunkbeds were very uncomfortable. The bed was great. The staff was extremely helpful & courteous. We had a great vacation."

The condo furniture was worn. There needs to be more utensils in the kitchen and a few more bath towels. The furniture on the deck was rusty and there wasn't a table. The blinds in the living room were missing a number of pieces.
It needs a heavy duty cleaning and updating.

Not overly impressed with our accommodations. We did in fact stay an additional night only because the area was wonderful. The room was a little less that what was expected. The blinds had missing pieces which didn't allow them to be shut completely, found a roach in our room and was a little upset that for $250 a night you had to supply trash bags and dish washing detergent after the (1)initial liner was used and (2) dish washing tabs were used. Visited another room in which our friends were staying and was much nicer. The condo facility itself was not terrible but could have used a good painting and some maintenance. I did like the fact that the facility was small and the beach was less crowded than most of the others. access to the beach was very good with wash facilities to rinse sand etc. overall i would possibly stay at the facility again but not the same room. "

"Beautiful Gulf and Beach Views - Disappointing Condo Unit
We have stayed at this particular property location several times before, but not in condo unit number 3003. To begin with, the location of the property is excellent and the gulf view was absolutely beautiful. However, we were not totally satisfied with the physical condition of condo unit 3003. The kitchen floor was not very clean. The two outdoor balcony chairs were both rusty and there was no table on balcony to place drinks, so needless to say we did not sit out on the balcony which was disappointing. The living room blinds had 3 slats in the middle missing so that when you shut them at night you could still see right into condo. The walls were scuffed and had marks on them. A fresh coat of paint would really go a long way to help update this unit. We also had a problem with the icemaker that we did report to management along with the missing slats from the blinds. When we book our next trip to Florida, we will probably stay at this property location, but not in condo unit 3003. "

"Uncomfomtable stay
First and foremost, the staff were very nice. There were no problems with them. The couch bed's mattress was very uncomfortable and felt bumpy and sunk in in the middle. Some of the unit had dirt left in the corners of the room and there was some debris and filth under appliances. There was also a very wierd smell that appeared to come from the utility closet. Even though the ammenities were nice (boat ride, movie rentals, etc.) our card would not be accepted the second night we tried to rent movies. To end on a positve note, the location was very good and the beach view was beautiful. If the unit could be more thoroughly cleaned and some of the bedding be replaced, it would be an O.K. stay. "

Our first impression as compared to other units was that although clean, it seemed very sparse decoration wise (would have preferred a more 'beachy' feel) and could use a little updating. Got in after hours when it was pouring, so had a bit of trouble finding everything, but this was strictly due to the conditions. Unit was clean, enjoyed the beach chairs and the beach, convenient location, near Destin but without having to pay Destin rates. Great location! Loved the view! We could sit on our balcony and watch our kids (11, 14, 18) play in the water/sand. When we first got there we noticed that the handle on the sliding glass door was broke. We called the next morning and within 2 hours there was a whole new handle on the door!! The staff of the management company was so helpful and friendly. They gave us plenty of info on things to do and places to eat. We will be back soon and will def use Brooks and Shorey Resorts!"

"Condo 3003
This was my third time statying at Emerald Towers West and the condos have always been clean and everything worked. Condo 3003 was dirty, there was no internet ( I wish someone had told me that before I scheduled to stay in that specific condo, the management attempted to give me a WiFi code from antother condo but I was unable to keep a connection due to the signal) the bathtub faucet was broken and we had hardly any hot water. My daughter left her teddy bear (large teddy bear) and when I called to see if someone turned it in, I was told that no one found a teddy bear. Overall I enjoyed Emeral Towers West but management was rude the day I checked in."

"Not favorite unit
This was not our favorite unit in this complex. We have stayed at Emerald Towers West almost annually over the the last few years and preferred all the other units to this one. Everything was okay, but we like other units better. Our air conditioner went
out, but was replaced immediately. The flooring needs to be updated, and all the units would be better with heavier, light-blocking drapes on the bedroom windows that face the parking area. As always, all the staff were nice and professional and responded
to our requests quickly and efficiently. The beach service is always a nice bonus and the young men who serve the Emerald Towers West area are courteous and always friendly and helpful."

This is not a comment but a suggestion: When we arrived my 4year old grandchild was so excited to see the beach, when we entered the room the blinds were opened he thought (I guess) there was no door and he ran right into it. Luckly he did not go through it, but maybe the next kid might. My only suggestion is to maybe keep the blinds drawn after they clean the rooms.
We were very pleased with our stay, I hope this helps."

I have stayed at Emerald Towers West many time and loved everything about it. But this condo was very used. The A/C would not cool the condo. We were offered an alternate room but management didn't leave the key in the lock box as planned. We went without A/C the 1st night there. The pull out couch bed had something rotten all over the plastic cover. The patio furniture could be nicer. There was no outdoor table. And the carpet was dirty and worn. "

"My stay at Emerald Towers West
Last year we stayed at Island Princess which was a MUCH nicer property. The unit at Island Princess was nicer, cleaner, etc. Our Emerald Towers West unit was ok-- carpet was old, living room furniture was quite dirty. The problem with Emerald Towers West was that the pool area is in front of the property with no hot tub, etc. The access to the ocean was not as good. Since we could not get a reservation at Island Princess this year we had to settle for Emerald Towers -- would not do that again."

In the High Voltage shed outside the building, there is a motor (or something) that cycles on and off, and can be heard day and night, even in the middle of the building, where my unit was. I wonder if this is functioning properly."

"From Vacation to Evacuation
I had originally booked this trip for an end-of-summer/Labor Day weekend trip. I am from the New Orleans area, so I couldn't return home when I was scheduled to check out, because it was the day Hurricane Gustav hit the New Orleans area and we were under a mandatory evacuation order. When I contacted the Brooks and Shorey office to see if I could extend my stay, the people were very helpful, sympathetic, and worked with me. Since Ft. Walton Beach was experiencing tropical storm effects from Gustov, it took away a lot of my "peaceful" beach time, but the two extra days I had to stay had great weather and sort of made up for it!
This was my second stay in this particular unit (it's my favorite) and my third stay at Emerald Towers West. It is always wonderful, and well worth the money."

"Very Lovely and Most Affordable!
We were very very pleased with our rental this past weekend. We had plenty of room in this one bedroom condo for our family of 5. The bunks were perfect for the boys and the sofa sleeper was our teenager's haven as she had the view of the ocean. Our King size bed was very comfortable. Even when the weather got bad (off and on) we were still in paradise being able to watch the ocean and listen to the thunder. The balcony view is absolutely majestic. At night the stars were so clear as we listened to the ocean ROARING. We will definately be back!"

Overall the accomodations and location were very fitting. I would return again. Management was very helpful when we accidently broke a coffee table top and was replaced quickly. When my wife had checked out there was a glich with what the calander days were for our stay. We were charged an extra day. When I reached management their research proved an error on their part and was told that a refund towards the credit card would take place."
