"Great Location
The plumbing in the downstairs bedroom was subpar in terms of hot water and water flow in the sink. That said, the property served our needs and the kids loved the pool. It was fine for a short stay. "

Our family of 8 (6 adults, 2 kids) enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was clean and comfortable. Located close to beaches and most tourist activities based in Kona. Highly recommended for a great place to land when you have a lot to do on vacation. The pool is nice for a quick dip if you need to cool off or to relax while the kids get some energy out too. We had a few bugs in the kitchen but had a notice on the door that pest control would be there on the day we checked out so they are on top of the situation."

"Smaller than pictured
Overall it’s a good place. The location is pretty good, something’s were just a few min away, a short walk to the grocery store of farmers market but most activities ended up being 20min. The place is advertised for a large group, it looks much bigger in pics than it is in reality. It’s great for 5 people but anymore it was cramped. The kitchen is tiny and enclosed so even 2 people at a time was pushing it. We had small bugs which is expected in Hawaii so no biggie but we also encountered a few large bugs, maybe cockroaches. I know bugs are to be expected but these things were huge. Loved the text communication from property management, easy & fast replies. the upstairs bathroom light was sometimes working, it flickered to work not a big deal for us but might be for the next renters. "

"Great Location, Great Stay!
We were 2 families staying for a week and this townhouse was perfect. Plenty of space for all of us, clean, and the AC was wonderful after a hot day in the sun. Our favorite part was the on-site pool (perfect for the kids!) and the nearby beach access."

Quiet, next to snorkeling beach and walking distance to coffee and shopping. Beautiful sunsets from the grounds and cute little geckos running around outside. Location was excellent.Management company was excellent to deal with. Very comfortable accommodation for a large family-we were 7 adults. If you prefer to be away from the downtown busyness then this is perfect. Highly recommend. "

"Great Townhome and Awesome Service
Spent about a week in Kona. Four adults and three kids enjoyed the home. There was plenty of space for everyone. The property has been updated beyond the pictures shown and we were pleasantly surprised to see that air conditioning had been installed throughout the house. It worked great and kept the house very comfortable. The home is close to necessities like a grocery store and drug store. It is also walking distance to one of the better snorkeling spots in Kona. The management company was very professional and took care of us completely. All the prearrival directions were clear and concise. We highly recommend this property and would stay here again! "

"Amazing! Comfortable and centrally located
So happy we decided to book this property! We were a group of 7, and this condo fit us all very comfortably! Everything in the unit functioned as intended. It was clean. We had everything we needed. The kids loved the pool. It was a short walk to a little beach. We grilled at the pool and ate dinner on our patio. when we did not eat in, we were very close to restaurants, shopping, and also our planned excursions. I would return and highly recommend! "

"Home away from home
The townhouse was a perfect getaway for my family and my brother's family. We cooked some and we relaxed there for a week. It was a great location for snorkeling and visiting Kona and the rest of the island. All the amenities were worth the price we paid, from laundry to pool, extra towels and the pullout couch. The check-in instructions were clear and thorough, everything was handled electronically and smoothly. We will rebook with Knutson when we return."

"Very fun trip
Excellent location, very beautiful and close to everything. Very professional staff and prompt responses. Townhouse was quiet, private and clean. We had four adults and four kids in our party, so it was great to have space for so many people, including a kitchen and washer/dryer. Couch had been upgraded with rest of livingroom and dining room furniture (original post said fold out couch, replacement dies not fold out) by the time we got there, but there were rollup mattresses instead so it worked out fine."

beautiful grounds with great pool and central location. A little dated condo that needs some work. We had issues with dryer and ice maker.

"Read before renting
Overall, my family and I were disappointed with the townhouse. The best thing about this rental was that it was at a great location close to a lot of great beaches and town. The grounds were well kept, top notch tennis courts and a great covered area with picnic tables right beside pool. However, be aware that the townhouse is run down, ill-equipped and bare bones. The rental only comes with a "starter kit" of toiletries and renters are expected to purchase toilet paper, dishwasher soap, paper towel, garbage bags etc. Having 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom for 8 people over 11 days leaves you feeling a bit short changed. For a rental that advertises for 8 people, the common area is uncomfortably small, and the kitchen is difficult to work in with even two people. The kitchen only had 4 kitchen chairs! Even the outdoor patio only had two proper chairs and no place to comfortably eat outdoors. Small things like a Small things like a 2 slice toaster for a place that is advertised for 8 people just makes the entire house overpriced and underwhelming. Secondly, the place was advertised as "new appliances, furniture", the appliances are anything but new. The dishwasher was so loud it sounded like it was going to explode and the furniture is run down and old. The sofa bed is so uncomfortable that cheap fold up mattresses is provided but does little to help. The dryer blows hot air back into the townhouse making the upstairs into a sauna!! As such, I would think carefully about renting this townhouse unless the outside amenities and the location is all you care about."

"Great location!
The location was great! The only a/c was upstairs in the master bedroom. There are lots of fans and ceiling fans in every room. But it was still hot in the condo. The only issue we had was with the hot water. It I contacted the property management company and they sent someone out that day. Which was amazing. Over all, for the price, you really can’t beat it."

"Great stay on the big island
This unit is a great place for a family vacation. Lots of room for all. We traveled for a wedding and the location worked well for scheduled and impromptu events. Nice pool, private beach and the shopping center close by had everything we needed. The only issue was that in July it was hot and the only AC was in the master bedroom. Lots of fans to move the air in the other areas. "

Had a little trouble figuring out gate codes etc but met with property managers. Good property for the value. Only one air conditioner on site in master bedroom. Needs at least two more,one in second bedroom second floor and one on main floor. Condo was too hot to sleep. Great otherwise. Barbacue near condo only had two burners working. Enjoyed stay otherwise."

"Bucket List Vacation
I loved my choice to stay here! It came with a couple of small issues which were cared for immediately. The location was awesome as well. My only recommendation would be that they have more than just the air conditioner in the master bedroom and a cable box in the downstairs bedroom. It’s a DVD player in there, but who brings dvds on vacation? I would definitely be using Knutson & Associates again!!"

"Kona vacation
We had a very pleasant stay. Our rental was clean. When we first arrived we were a little shocked at the lack of towels. There wasn’t and wash clothes or hand towels. After about 5 days we found them in the dryer with a note that said “We are sorry but didn’t have time to put them away.” So there were more towels , we were just unaware of them being in the dryer. Loved the location. Had a wonderful time. The only thing that I was surprised at was the pictures on the website were old pictures. It really wasn’t a recent picture."

"Beautiful gated community with pool, tennis courts, trees, plants
We had great time staying at Kona and this townhouse/condo community.
It is very safe and family friendly gated community. Very clean and beautiful plants, trees. 5 star to landscape personnel. We enjoyed the pool very much. It is also clean and well taken care off. If you are tennis player this is the spot. They have 3 tennis courts, which are in best shape with shaded awnings and benches. Overall 5 star and definitely recommend to friends and people. Keep up the good work. "

"Kids loved the pool!
Great location next to Kahalu’u for excellent snorkeling. Beds very confortable. We used the BBQ next to the pool area to cook our dinners and ate outside. Pool very clean and big. We were a party of 7 and had to wash the dishes after each meal."

Great condo just south of Kona. Very clean with a pool and BBQ sites within complex. Stores and restaurants in walking distance. The best part is that the place is located in walking distance to Kahaluu Beach park, the best snorkeling beach on the Big Island!!!! Blake was always accesible when we needed him."

"Great little vacation home!
Nice place! The townhouse was small but provided plenty of sleeping space. Kitchen was tiny but we still managed to cook several meals there. Close to beaches and has its own (community) pool and tennis courts. Laundry facilities in the townhouse was absolutely crucial to our stay! Would go back!"

Wir waren sehr entäuscht von dieser Unterkunft. Lediglich in einem Schlafzimmer war Klimaanlage, Ventilatoren fehlten in der Küche, Badezimmer. Es war sehr warm. Ameisen waren im ganzen unteren Stockwerk. Wir konnten das Essen nicht geniessen, da die Ameisen sobald ein Teller auf dem Tisch da war! sich gleich drauf gestürtzt haben.

Centrally located with a public beach right down the road, grocery store up the street, and a great pool and tennis court right on the property. We had a great lunch at Da Poke Shack just up the street. Be aware that like most places in HI, there is no central AC, so windows stay open which leads to bugs. "

"Functional & Clean
This place served our need. It is not roomy (we have a family of 8), but definitely met our expectations. There were 2 bathrooms- neither of which were in the master, but that was OK. The vanity areas were outside the toilet and shower areas, which was helpful. There was a very small back porch, which we gathered around to play cards. There were several pool items, a couple flippers, a few snorkels, and a boogie board for use. the pool was very close and nice, with a 1 foot entry. There was a TV in every room. Full kitchen, Extra parking spaces for additional cars.
The location wasn't my favorites, as there was no beach access. Beach access in that area is difficult. Snorkeling 1 mile north was great. Be careful of the tides. They were some of the strongest we encountered. The only real sandy beach we found was 40 minutes north."

"Great place to stay
This 3 bedroom townhouse fit our needs perfectly. Two bathrooms, laundry facilities and nice kitchen. We barbecued outside at the communal grills, and had a dinner for 14 people at the communal eating area. There is a nice (albeit rocky) beach just past the parking lot that even had turtles. Pool was lovely and lots of lounges. The townhouse was clean and well equipped and the few things that needed to be fixed upon arrival were promptly dealt with, including bringing a brand new TV. The road noise outside the master bedroom is completely drowned out by the air conditioner."

"Kona Condo
When I do a search for a place to rent, my two main filters are air conditioning and a pool. This unit does NOT have central air. It has one small window unit in the master that needed to cool upstairs and downstairs. Did not do the job. Plus it was very dirty. It would have been appreciated if we would have been notified that the pool was out of order. It appears that they are re-surfacing it and it had been out of commission for quite some time. The condo itself was laid out nicely and decorated nicely. The linens were clean and appeared to be of good quality and the kitchen had everything you needed. There were a few maintenance items that should have been taken care of. First, the screen door is a hot mess and you need to remove the key box. Unless you open the door to see it has a key pad lock, you try to put the code in the key box and it doesn't work. The soap dish in the master bath is broken off and the plug for the sink in the master is not connected. Also, very noisy during the day being on Ali'i Drive. Luckily, it does go quiet in the evening."

"Nice location for a great price for 8 people, excellent place!
The price was excellent and property is beautiful. So many beautiful flowers, plants, trees, close to ocean, saw turtles on beach every day (only few minute walk). Plus grill and pool and tennis. Condo was close to road, but did not bother me. Room need some repairs but price was more important than everything being perfect. Furniture and beds were way nice and kitchen nice. A few rusty utensils could be replaced. Washer and dryer included, two baths and three bedrooms, and porch. I give it excellent rating and great value."

"Family Vacation in Hawaii
We had a great time staying at Keauhou Surf & Racquet #36. The place was very well decorated and was big enough for our family of eight people. The location of the townhouse was close to the pool and we enjoyed using the pool and tennis courts while staying at the condo. All the staff was very friendly and helped out in any way they could. The condo was equipped with all the things that you could use while on vacation. I would definitely recommend this condo to anybody planning to take a vacation to the Big Island."

"Family reunion
The property that we rented was perfect for our small family reunion. The property was exactly as described. We found that it was very close to shopping at a small mall within walking distance. The access to the highway was easy and we were sight seeing in all directions. The strip on the city was a much longerr walk but a short drive and we were at farmers markets and parking was free. There was one thing that we found was if you want to keep your vehicle clean do not park under the trees. The maintenance staff solved the problem and directed us to a hose that we could wash the vehicles for free."

"Keauhou Surf & Racquet #36
Pros – The location of this property is good – close to Ali’i Street without being too close to the hectic traffic of Ali’I Street – it has great access to main roads, a market and drug store very close and is a reasonable distance from Kona Airport. Overall, the space is as listed with 2 queens, 2 twins and a sofa bed. For a small family or few couples this rental is well suited to fit. There are enough pots and pans and miscellaneous cooking supplies someone else has left behind.
Cons/Misc – While this will potentially sleep 8 there is really not room for 8 people in the house. There is seating for 4 at the table, 4 in the living room, 4 outside… any more than 4 and you would not be able to comfortably use the living space.
There is one air conditioning unit upstairs for one bedroom – it is very hot upstairs and impossible to cool anything but the one bedroom down. The bedrooms are a good size but have a lot of furniture in them so they feel smaller. Also, the beds are incredibly hard – if you like this it’s fine, but if not its very uncomfortable. Also, this unit has a very small water heater, so plan on fast cold showers if you have more than 2 people showering. The parking spot assigned to the property has the owners’ car permanently parked in it. You have to park in visitor parking which is not always easy to find late at night.
Expect to purchase basics – we were there for a week and ended up having to purchase trash bags, dishwasher soap, toilet paper and paper towels. All of these things were obviously bought by someone who had previously stayed there and we ran out while we were there. Also, there are 7 plate settings, so if you have a meal for 4, you have to run the dishwasher before the next meal.
Finally the property needs some maintenance – nothing that was impactful but general items like, dings in the wall, rusty bi-fold doors, loose screen doors, stained tubs, etc. that fixing would make the property feel a lot nicer. "

"Hawaii Trip
The unit was nice and had everything that was needed to stay there and have a good time. Overall the unit was clean with the exception of the 2nd floor tub and the first floor shower stall. The only problem that we encountered was the owner apparently had a vehicle stored in the parking spot for unit 36 and we constantly had to find a parking spot. On two occasions we woke to find our car completely covered in bird droppings. The room with the air conditioner which we considered to be the master bedroom has a lot of noise from the road being extremely close. Overall the condo was very nice and would stay there agai"
