"Orange seahorse
It appeared that work was done not long before our arrival. There was “concrete” dust all over the kitchen from the back splash being worked on. It was also outside with pieces on the back porch. The also also had a severe musty smell as if it hadn’t been cleaned/aired out in awhile. The carpets appeared to be recently cleaned and still damp and may have caused the smell. Not sure. Overall it was a great location and we had a great time and would stay again with those few things fixed. The office staff was very nice and helpful and did make some accommodations with a return of the cleaning fee. Thank you for a good visit. "

Overall the house was clean but the following were unfortunate
several lights were burnt out or without bulbs

"Orange seahorse house
Very nice house and well appointed with all the necessities especially in the kitchen. All except for a working oven. I called the office every day of our stay and it was never repaired.
You have to drive to the beach. "

"Comfortable & great location
After some initial resistance, Port A Escapes did a really nice job of addressing all of the concerns I had based on reviews posted after I made my reservation. The house was clean, smelled nice, and was comfortable for our 2 families. The location is great, and the views from the widow's walk are beautiful. Both of the golf carts we rented fit in the one available garage space. This property would be perfect if there was an outdoor grill, a broom, a garage door opener or keypad for the garage door, an outdoor shower, and a space to hang wet swims suits & towels. Thank you for addressing our initial concerns - they were all resolved!"

"Family vacation
Convenient to the beach, clean, nice neighborhood. Was unable to use the downstairs master bedroom for the first night and all day Sunday due to no electricity. Had to double (triple) up in the upstairs bedrooms. Saw 2 mice in the downstairs area and the oven burned the bottom of everything regardless of the temp or which rack used."

"Family Vaca
Our overall stay was pleasurable. We had plenty of room for our 10 family members and the kitchen was very well equipped. It was very nice to be able to bring our dogs. The third floor balcony had a nice view of the ocean. The golf cart that came with rental was very nice. I was disappointed the grass had not been mowed and the yard was full of weeds. We had a ceiling fan and wifi connection issues when we arrived but a maintenance man came right out and fixed them. However, the oven, laundry washer, and exhaust fan in one of the bathrooms did not work. We called for maintenance and they came out to check on it but could not fix them. Kind of a bummer but we were compensated for our inconvenience. We will use Port A Escapes again. "

The home was great...however I would recommend putting trash cans in bathrooms ,and have a pantry of some sort to store dry food.
Trash can outside was full and previous renters left trash in garage.

"Family Getaway
The house and location were great. Our only complaint dealt with the backyard. There were so many stickers neither the grandchildren or the dogs could use it. I spent the first hour there cleaning dog droppings in the yard. They really need someone to monitor the grounds. "

"Very Comfortable
This property has plenty of comfortable beds for a large family. Kitchen is very well equipped. Living room is nice for everyone to hang out with a large TV. Great place for dog owners except the back yard is full of grass burrs (pointy ones). The only update I would make is to plant grass in the back yard and maybe some extra outdoor seating."

"Great family getaway!
Overall we had a great experience. The house was very clean, maintained, and roomy for our group of 11 plus a pet. We had pretty much everything we needed utensil wise. The rental office staff were very helpful, especially when we arrived past 6 pm and couldn't pull up the office location on my probably outdated gps. They waited for me. The only "negatives" we're that the trash can already had trash in it and there is only one. For a house that rents to large groups 2 might be more helpful. Also there was brush in front of the house the entire week. There are no direct neighbors to each side which was nice. But there is a house being constructed on the next lot over so had a little noise but not a lot. There are houses behind but still felt private. Pretty sure our dog could smell the ocean from the back yard the way he was sniffing the air. Did report a problem with ants, in and out of house, when we left, including inside a light switch in kitchen. Master bedroom did not seem as cool as rest of house but we were okay. Love Port A and would def rent the house again if we return with a large group. Beach access road is not far as well. "

"Fantastic vacation home for large families
My family and I had such a wonderful time staying at the Orange Seahorse House in Port Aransas. We stayed for a week during Christmas and had 8 family members with us which included a 4 year old and a 1 month old. This house sleeps 16 so the 8 of us had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space if need be. We did have a couple of dogs with us so the fenced backyard was a huge plus for us. Unfortunately the backyard was overrun with goat heads that the dogs got stuck in their paws and fur and brought in the house making it necessary to always wear shoes in the house. Despite this small inconvenience we would definitely recommend this place for big family vacations. We will definitely be back."

"Wonderful Place for Family Fishing Trip Gathering
Having our annual family fishing trip in Port A worked great in this home! Bathrooms are spacious and kitchen big enough for preparing meals for our bunch. Roomy bedrooms so we could add a few air mattresses where needed for the kids. Location is great for heading out fishing and the beach is a short skip nearby. Port A Escapes staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to next time!"

Great house with a tons of space. Close to beach making it the perfect relaxing get away.
Only thing is I had to get Raid to get rid of Ants and Spiders that greeted us upon our arrival. But by no means do I think that should deter anyone from enjoying this place."

"Seahorses Ahoy
We were a group of 7 staying for the second time at the Orange Seahorse. For the configuration of our group, the house was adequate. I think 16 would be pushing the limitation unless you had many children. The dining table itself seats 6. But there is a nice deck area and a living room seating area as well.
They probably should replace the shag carpeting at some time. It is dated and I would think not perfect for a sandy area. Having said that, they manage to keep it looking clean.
The house is about a three block walk from the beach. I lots of walkers including the elderly and children."

"Decent House, Bad Experience
The house was a great size, but only minimally stocked with kitchen utensils, etc., for a house that is supposed to accommodate 16. One bathroom was non-functional and the whole house had an indoor ant problem.
All of those problems were manageable, but when I checked out and tried to explain the issues, the rep for Port A Escapes wouldn’t let me get a whole sentence out without cutting me off to contradict me. I tried to explain that I wasn’t seeking a refund, just giving info, but she continued to respond rudely. She kept saying I should have called them to fix everything during my visit, but who wants to drive all day and then spend the evening with maintenance in a home at this price point?
I’ll never use this rental company again, which is sad because after two years, we were comfortable with them. "

"Some Issues But Overall Was A Good Stay
We had issues with the stove/oven not working on our second day. I was extremely dis-satisfied at the lack of customer service the property management showed in getting this issue resolved. And when we reported the issue, they had stated they knew of the issue prior to us checking in. After it all, we were offered a discount to compensate which was very appreciated for the inconvenience. The house overall was a good size for our family, very close to the beach and very clean. "

"Loved this house!
We were a large group ranging in ages from grandparents to grandkids. This property suited our needs perfectly! The bunk beds were very wobbly and the management company sent a repairman over to fix them. We would stay there again."

House was clean with plenty of room for about 8 adults and 6 kids to sleep comfortably. The house exceeded my expectations and was very clean, neat, had plenty of everything needed for a comfortable stay. Had plenty of pots and pans, silverware and everything. Would definitely recommend the Orange Seahorse! Five minute drive from the beach. Ugly back yard though but did not spend any time in it anyway! "

"Lovely Home in a Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at the Orange Seahorse House very much. The location was great - close to town and the beach access road. And, the kitchen was well supplied with everything needed. The home is beautifully and comfortably furnished. And, we appreciated that we could bring our little dog with us.
We only had two complaints. First we did not find the management company very organized or helpful. We arrived a bit early and Port A Escapes made everyone wait until the 4:00 PM check-in time, so they had people stacked up waiting to get the keys to their rentals. Then they gave us the wrong information and an access code to enter the property but we should have been given keys, so we had to return to their office, where another couple was waiting for the info that they gave to us. And, our second complaint was the state of the floors when we arrived. We thought that since we had to pay a $130 exit cleaning fee, we would be getting a clean house when we arrived, but, that was not the case. The carpets were very dirty as were the tiled floors. But, to their credit the rest of the house was very clean and probably the cleanest we've found in our years of renting vacation homes. So, all in all, we loved our stay and will definitely return again, if possible. Thank you for making your beautiful home available for others to enjoy!"

"Lovely, convenient getaway
Our family of 15 descended on the Orange Seahorse House just after Christmas and found all in perfect order from the beginning. Any issue that arose was quickly addressed and resolved by the employees of Port A Escapes. Thank you for having our house move-in ready from day 1. There were accommodations available for our number, and everything described in the advertisement was exactly as represented. We continue to use Port A Escapes for our Port Aransas vacations. "Orange Seahorse
The property was as described but we were still a bit disappointed. We had a large group of 9 people and although there were plenty of beds there were no hangers in the closet, The dishwasher was a little broken and didn't clean well and the kitchen lacked cookware and large sharp knives. We sliced fajitas with a paring knife. The house was not filthy when we moved in but there were cigarette butts on the porch, longneck bottles along the fence and cheerios and fruit loops under the couches and stuck in the rugs. Not horribly, obviously dirty but not spanking clean. Our biggest disappointment and one that we were aware of was the distance to the beach. That being said the neighborhood was quiet and lovely, just wish there had been a boardwalk within walking distance."

"wonderful place to stay with family
I stayed at the orange seahorse and had my baby shower at the house. it was perfect for a party and comfortably accomidated all of my guests. beds were comfy and clean. every appliance is very modern and being fully furnished with dishes helped with the party as well. the walk to the beach is a little far but is not hard. if you rent a golf cart it is alot easier. Loved management and the whole stay!!"

"Good Price, God Spot.
At first I would have preferred a house closer to the beach, then I saw the crazy sorority boys from Corpis Christi parting on the beach and was glad I wasn't closer. I do wish the access both road and to the beach were better. Ice machine on Fridge was broken. Other then that, great house perfect for our needs. We had 8 guys, everyone had a bed. The cost was 75 bucks a person per night which is better then all the hotels nearby. I would rent it again without a doubt. "

"Nice place in a housing developm about one mile walk to the sea.
the owners did us a very nice turn by allowing up to keep 3 dogs. the home is very lovely , modern and clean.Unfortunately we had quite a maintenance problems but they were solved in a reasonable manner.
The back yard was full of burrs.
All in all if you want to bring your pets this property is a good bet for pet friendly service.
the back fence is not adequate to keep in small dogs that are adventurous(digging in the soft sand is just too tempting) but it is fine for medium and large dogs. "

"Very roomy/nice home
Eight of us stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday at this house. It is very roomy, with nice large bedrooms, bathrooms and a big kitchen/living area. Beds are very comfortable and we all slept well. Kitchen was easy to prepare Thanksgiving dinner in. Minor issues-we had a small dachsund with us, the yard is full of stickers and had recently been mowed, but no cleanup was done. Stickers/cut grass was all over the driveway/sidewalks and had previously been tracked into house/carpeting by prior occupants! There are only two TV's in the home and they are located at the top and bottom of the stairs, which can make it difficult to watch two different stations, as the sound comes right down the stairs. Some of our group had issues with no ESPN on the DISH Tv package, as it was the last A&M/UT game. Even though there is no direct beach access, we would probably stay here again!"
