Great location! Building clean and well maintained. Unit 3L is clean and the two bedroom two bath is a great size. Unit does have too much furniture and decoration that limits movement. Dishwasher works great but needs to be cleaned- definite odor in the appliance."

We had a lovely stay. Overall the entire property is very clean, but the rugs and carpet in the unit could use a good cleaning. Also, the dishes were not clean in the cupboard.

"Comfortable getaway
We had a nice experience at Island Echos 3L. The Brooks and Shorey reps we worked with were always attentive and kind. The condo was nicely appointed, even if the greenery and columns throughout were dated--IMO, just take them out and leave it more spacious and "airy." Loved the view of the ocean, and the beach service was great. A few suggestions: We really wanted a lock on the main bedroom door: an easy switch out. We also could've benefited from a refreshed silverware drawer--just a few extra spoons and forks would've been helpful. Otherwise, things were well stocked and Island Echos overall is a good, clean building! Thanks for everything! "

This gaited condo was perfectly situated close to the beach. The condo was very clean and the kitchen well supplied with everything needed to prepare our meals. Even though we were on the 3rd floor over the pool 3L was well insulated from the noise. Loved our star at Echo Island and highly recommend it over the larger busy high rise condos. "

The property is as pictured. Plenty of space for our group of 4 with a toddler. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking essentials and then some. The only things missing-are dish detergent and sponge as well as salt/pepper. Property was clean and had enough toilet paper/paper towels for the whole week. We loved our ocean view and short walk to the beach/pool. The furniture and decor is definitely dated and the coffee table was missing the middle glass insert. We called housekeeping to inform them but they never responded. The other issue was the shower door in the master suite is only attached at the top rail not the bottom. Seems like a safety concern to me. The biggest complaint was the loud sound/vibration in the second bedroom from the air conditioning when running. Our guest had a hard time sleeping in that room. "

If you are looking for clean, relaxing, beautiful views right on the beach you are going to love this. There was 4 of us and we had plenty of room and privacy for 2 couples. I will be back."

This is a nice unit but...the carpet in master bedroom was filthy! It had huge stains on it. Exactly the reason I don't like any carpet in vacation rentals. Way too many artificial plants taking up valuable space. Just editing these items ie. huge basket above refrigerator, plant stand behind sofa, huge plant stand in bedroom and many more would be more up to date. Also only straight on ocean views as sides are blocked was disappointing. Replacing/cleaning carpet, editing/removing decorations could make this a great condo."

"Lovely little condo - RUDE beach service
This is a lovely, well-maintained little condo. It is smaller than I expected from the photos, but worked ok for our family of 4. One disappointment was that you can't look to the west from the balcony because the condo is recessed. It is a small balcony. The furniture and decor were very nice and it appears that it is one of the more updated condos at Island Echos. The beds were reasonably comfortable. LOVE the full sized washer/dryer. The kitchen was much smaller than expected from the photos and no view of the beach from the kitchen. It is nicely updated. I would recommend replacing the toaster. It will toast on one side fine, but completely burn the other side. There is a nice bar height table and two chairs on the balcony, which is perfect for seeing over the railing. We like to eat on the balcony, so it would have been nice to have four bar height chairs instead of two. There are two, low height plastic chairs on the balcony so the kids got stuck with those. There are no chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, boogie boards, etc., and nowhere to store them. Travis, with Sunset Beach Service, was HORRIBLE -very rude and sarcastic, with a terrible attitude. VERY bad customer service experience with him. We will never rent at Island Echos again because of him or any place that uses this beach service - the ONLY reason we can't recommend this condo. And just an fyi, even though beach service comes with the rental, the chairs are first come, first served, so you will have to be an early riser, or settle for whatever can be found somewhere down the beach. People start claiming their chairs by 8 am. Hated that. Travis pockets cash bribes to put your name on a setup to reserve it for you. Don't think it is the service's policy because he couldn't quote us an exact price. Brooks & Shorey don't answer messages sent through their app, so call them. Could have given a more helpful review but limited characters prevent it."

"Very disappointed
Brooks and Shorey's check in time was 4:00. We strategically planned our day so we would be there at 4:00. After buying groceries and being on the road all day, our condo was not ready at check in time. They did not have it ready until an hour and a half later. I was told I would be charged if I checked out late, but they were in no hurry to have our room available by check in time. Once there, the condo was not cleaned well. Dishes were still in the dishwasher and food left in the couch. We also found a roach in the bathroom. The balcony and pool were tiny and definitely not worth the money we paid. I will not use Brooks and Shorey again nor will I stay at this condo. "

This unit had an excellent location. Close to the pool and beach with excellent beach view. The unit was clean and in good condition upon arrival. We had a couple of minor issues: there was no blanket for the pull out couch-- only a sheet. The unit did not have enough toilet paper for a family so we had to buy some. There was a coffee maker in the unit but no coffee filters. No dish soap or windex to assist in cleaning up the kitchen. I have stayed at several properties and always there were things like coffee, blankets, dish soap and a few cleaning supplies. I loved the management company's app and not having a key to carry around! Very nice place to stay overall-- just missing a few small details that would have added to the experience. "

My husband and I booked this condo for a very last minute weekend get away. The condo was very nicely updated, very clean and very spacious! Beautiful ocean views from the bedroom, living room, and balcony. Being on the third floor made for very convienient walk to the pool, beach, and parking. The free golf passes,daulphin cruise, snorkel tour, and movie rentals were such a cool bonusl! My husband golfed Saturday morning and really enjoyed the beautiful course! We loved the area! Beautiful water, not over crowded and just a couple of blocks away from our favorite restaurant- Old Bay Steamer! We will definitely book this unit again! Brooking was very quick and simple- Great price for such a nice condo! "

Second time staying in this particular unit, and loved it both times. Very clean and nicely decorated. The only complaint I have is not with the actual condo or property(both great)is with Brooks and Shorey. We've stayed here two years in a row and were not informed about the repeat stay discount. I found out about it through another review. I contacted Brooks and Shorey about this before our stay hoping they would honor the discount, unfortunately they did not. I am big on customer service and I realize there are other providers and condos as nice as the unit we stayed in so because of this I probably would not use or recommend Brooks and Shorey again. That being said I would recommend this unit and property."

"Amazing Condo with a fabulous view
Everything you could ask for in a home away from home. Full furnished kitchen, very comfortable beds and over all fantastic unit! All you need to bring is your beach towels and sunscreen. The on hand staff was very helpful and friendly. Pool was cleaned daily, beach chairs and umbrella's were promptly set up every morning. This unit has an amazing view of the ocean where we watched dolphins play almost every morning from our private balcony."

The condo was VERY clean with plenty of room. Great taste as far as interior decorating goes. The kitchen featured granite with stainless appliances. It’s in a convenient location. "Excellent beach front unit
Ft Walton is a great area for family and kids away from the crowds of Destin. The property is ideally located towards the middle of the resort strip. The condo was a great size for our two families. Kitchen was very nice with granite and stainless appliances. The king bed was very comfortable. The view from the patio was impeccable and we even managed to sight dolphins in the evening. The pool was great for the kids but a little cold on few days. The building was in great shape and did not show its age.Overall we had a really great experience in the condo and will not hesitate to come back. "

Beautifully decorated place. Very clean, well kept and comfortable. Great view of the beach, pool and Gulf. Easy to get to pool and beach, and Wonderful for relaxing and sitting at both. Sand is white and beautiful, but not good for long distance walking- very soft! But, perfect in every other way! Building and grounds staff were friendly, helpful and extremely personable. Had to drive to get to restaurants and grocery, but it was easy and quick travel. Our daughters played and swam with dolphins and stingrays at nearby marine Adventure park (10 min away). Lots of fun. Kitchen well equipped for cooking and eating in. Sleeping accommodations extremely comfortable. We highly recommend!"

"Island echo 3L Awesome
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at island echos unit 3L and would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. The check-in/check-out process was extremely fast and easy with Brooks and Shorey. The amenities that were included in our stay were great to have. We loved having beach chairs/umbrellas set up for us every morning by a guy named Eli. He knew our names and where we were staying as soon as we stepped onto the beach. We rented kayaks from him as well for $20 an hour, which was well worth it. We had a pod of about six dolphins swim around us one morning. Great experience! The unit was very clean and updated, perfect for my husband and I. The master had a great view of the ocean and a nice sized bathroom with double vanity, and if we had kids they could've stayed in the other room comfortably on two twin beds. The kitchen was equipped with everything I needed to prepare meals. The condo's grounds were well kept and clean. The pool was a good size and clean. My entire family stayed in different condos there for Fourth of July week. We had a great time watching the fireworks from the beach our last night. Overall we had a wonderful time! "

We stayed in Island Echoes 3L last week. The check-in process was very quick and we were in the condo, unpacked and headed to the beach within an hour of arriving. The condo itself was in a great location - it was far enough off of the main road to feel like we were away from the hustle and bustle but was close enough to Publix and entertainment that we didn't feel like anything was too out of the way. 3L was a beautiful condo - the kitchen was great and everything was exactly as expected from the photos. The one thing I thought was odd was that we didn't have any cleaning supplies. The dining room table is glass, for example, and we didn't have any Windex to clean it after eating. In the condos we've stayed in over the past few years, there are typically some cleaning items under the kitchen sink for use. We did buy some dish soap so that we wouldn't have to run the dishwasher (there aren't many plates/bowls/etc., so we had to do dishes after every meal). Overall, however, those issues were minor and we really had a great time.
It was really nice to have the beach chairs and umbrellas every day and we took advantage of renting kayaks on our last day. My husband and I took our three daughters (7, 9, 18) and they loved going to the beach and also having access to the pool. We used the grills twice during our week as well - that was a really nice thing to have access to.
Overall, I would recommend the condo and the property, especially for couples traveling with kids. This condo was great for family time and with the two twin beds in the second bedroom, it was perfect for our girls (our oldest slept on the fold-out couch). "

"Girls weekend
A group of 5 ladies meet every year on Okaloosa Island. We always enjoy the location, close to Ft Walton & Destin for anything you want to do and the beach is beautiful. Also, the pool at this resort was very nice and clean. This condo advertises for 6 people but the size and amenities are not big enough for 6 adults. Kitchen is small, second bathroom is tiny and seating is minimal. The washer & dryer were so small we had to wash 2 loads of towels everyday. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable for 1 person. There is no way 2 people could sleep on it. Floors were not very clean, lots of dust on the baseboards and dirt buildup in the corners of every room. We will not be using this condo again. "

"FL vacation property issues -3L in IE
The good item is that we had great weather. The property has a very nice kitchen,but like the entire property it is VERY small. We have stayed in 10-12 properties in the area and this is by far the smallest.Having 6 people stay there is a joke. The unit was clean but the carpet is filthy; needs to be replaced.This is a gulf front unit but the view to the west is blocked due to the building shape. We always enjoy the sunset on the balcony with a glass of wine...forget that, you can't see to the west. This unit needs to state in the description, gulf front with blocked view to the west. A small point is the free dvd movies; you have to drive to the dvd box which is out in the weather; a problem when we had the downpour (that's when we needed it). Didn't matter, the dvd box was out of order 14 of the 16 days we were there. Why not use the modern box in the property? Not going back unless I get a 3br 3bath unit."

My family recently stayed in 3L which has an abundance of dated furniture, a leaky dishwasher, very dirty carpet in bedrooms, cheap balcony furniture, and no wi-fi internet in the room (even though advertised that it did). We had to purchase a wi-fi router just so we could get internet access. VERY INCONVENIENT! Also, they should have keypad entrance for front door instead of 2 keys for condo. Someone needs to clean the bath fans too. We would go back for the beach, but stay in a different room."

"problems we had
Very disappointed and aggravated that problems my friends who stayed in the same condo the week of the july 4th week were not taken care of. The closet doors in bedroom were not on track, the dishwasher leaked very badly, broke chair in living room(pink chair). I was told at check in problems were fixed. When we arrived the closet doors were not fixed, the dishwasher leaked a lot of water on the floor and my 1 year old grandson slipped and fell the floor looked like it hasn't been swept there was a diet dr pepper bottle beside the sofa in plain view. I addressed the issues when I checked out and hopefully they will be addressed and the next family will have a better stay. "

"Disappointed
This was my family's 4th or 5th visit to Island Echos 3L. We have always enjoyed our stay. However, I was disappointed in some things this year. First, the condo was a little dirty when we arrived. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Maybe the reason for the dirty dishes was the dishwasher leaked. We did informed the office of this problem but nothing was done. Also, the dryer did not work. I reported this to the office and they sent a maintenance person. The maintenance person could not fix it so they called an appliance person. The appliance person said the computer board was bad and it would take 2 days to order a new one. Two days later I called the office to check on the status of the repair. They then informed me the dryer would not be fixed while we were there. For some, this may not seem like a big deal, but to us, one reason we requests this unit is because of the washer and dryer in our room. Not having a dryer was a big inconvenience. I asked what the resort was going to do to compensate us, and that is where the real problem began. We were told by the manager that we should be happy and not complain because there was a laundry mat on site. The manager accused me of using the situation to try and profit. THIS WAS HIGHLY OFFENSIVE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I understand things break. I can live with the broken dryer and leaking dishwasher. WHAT I WILL NOT TOLERATE IS HOW I WAS TREATED BY THE MANAGER. on arrival, 2 maintenance men in room installing dryer, dryer larger than previous, so door to laundry closet would not close so every time you came in the door was sticking out. Also, on Thurs. a call at 900am saying maintenance would be back to remove dryer,but never came. We did not wash any clothes thinking the dryer would be removed at any apology on checkout "

During the visit, everything went without a hitch. Unit was very nice along with the amenities for the condo associates. Brooks and Shorey Resorts were very friendly and efficient with the rental of the unit. We really enjoyed our stay and will try to book this unit again in the future."

Very nice place. We had a great time. The location was excellent, close to attractions but still a less crowded family-friendly beach. The master bedroom was a little hard to cool down with no fan and only one poorly placed vent. Overall great place!"

"Spring Break 2012 at Island Echos 3L
Island Echos 3L is a very nice condo. We were visiting for spring break and several other families from our area were in the same building. Everyone that visited our room commented on the extras in the room (i.e. crown molding) that gave the room the extra feeling of home. The balcony overlooked the pool area and had a great view of the beach and the ocean. The beach chairs were awesome, just getting up everyday and knowing you had a nice place to sit and enjoy the ocean was awesome. I would definetly stay in this condo again if it were available at the time I needed it."

"Great but watch out for repairs to building.
After 1 week here scaffolding was put up outside our balcony for repairs to building. Using jackhammers dust was everywhere so couldn't use balcony. Pool was closed due to debris from repairs. It would have been great but for unexpected and distracting racket. We left sooner but were not given any refund."

"Island Echos 3L
We loved the location of Island Echos and the overall property. There was parking lot maintenace going on the week we stayed, but even with that we didn't feel inconvienced. The pool and surrounding area was very nice. The condo was not as clean as I had expected. There was alot of dust on the furniture and the floors turned the bottom of our feet black. Overall it was a good stay, but would hope for a cleaner condo."

We were very pleased with our stay. The only thing we would change is the lock on the air conditioning unit. There were a few days that it was very warm in the unit. It would have been nice to have the option to turn down or up the temperature when needed."

"Better than most
We travel a lot, so I have stayed in many condos. Although the complex is a little old - as most on Okaloosa Island are, you can not tell in person. The complex and especially this unit were in excellent CLEAN condition. This condo overlooks the pool and the beach so is perfect for someone with kids."

Maintenance on the tile floor in the lobby by the elevators caused the middle staircase to be closed the entire week, which was inconvenient. My daughter was never able to get online with her Iphone in the condo--either the wireless wasn't working or they did not have wireless at all.
The free golf and dolphin cruise was an awesome amenity!! The free DVD rentals were not in a good location (right beside a "gentlemen's club" that we didn't want our children asking about), so we never used it."

"Great Vacation
The condo was lovely and it was a nice quiet location. The only downside was our movie rental card. After finally finding the location of the box, the card would not work, we exchanged it for a new card which also did not work. It did cause some frustration for a couple nights, but besides that issue, everyone at the office was very nice and helpful."

We enjoyed our stay at the Island Echos updated condo, rented through Brooks and Shorey, who we've used for years to rent properties on Okaloosa Island. The condo was beautiful. The single downside was a restricted view of the Gulf, due to the way the condos were constructed. We could not see the sunset. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the help we received from B&S."

The ECHOS Island room 3L met all of my expectaionas and needs. The 2 bedroom apartment was very exceptional. It was clean and modernly updated with appliances. It even had its own washer and dryer which turned-out to be very convenienent. The ocean view was terrific as well as the beach which was practically right out the back door. The pool was a little small but very nice and warm. The entire environment was very tranquil and quiet. The ocean water was exactly what I've heard and read about. The water was emerald green, warm and clear. I thought I was in a caribbean island. The room to the pool and the beach was so convenient. The daily use of 2 beach chairs and an umbrella came with the room otherwise you would have to pay $25. This was key to reserving this location. Many other accommodations charged extra. 3L was definitely a beautiful and very accommodating rental with LCD TVs. I definitely would return to Fort Walton and stay at 3L again. Great place to stay with the wife and kids. Everthing is provided in the apartment. All you have to do is go shopping at the nearby Publix for groceries. You can save money this way especially if your traveling with hungry kids like I did. Don't hesitate and be concerned whether this is a right place for the family like I did after reading so many reviews about so many other places. Just do it! I drove from NYC to the Nickelodean at Orlando for the kids. Then drove to Fort Walton. I tell you ECHOS Island was a great consolation after all the driving. "

There were several areas where the housekeeping should have been better. We called the office, and they had the service there in an hour. Floors were not clean, and the porch was pretty dirty. It is surprising that the condo was left in this condition. With the cleaning fee paid by all, there should be someone checking prior to new renters
(no one had inspected ours).
Other than no air condition, fan in the elevators, the condo was fine.
For the rental fee paid, we were expecting better accommodations."
