Condo provided almost everything we need for our 14 night stay. The condo is in need of some updating and some repairs (windows, light switches and sockets, umbrella stand). We enjoyed our stay in Princeville."

From when you first open the front door you are greeted with the view! Then anywhere you look there it is beautiful ocean views. Property has everything you would ever need for your Kauai stay. They recently remodeled the lanai, so any previous comments about the bad lanai don't worry about anymore. Nice additional surprise was the pickleball courts."

"Kauai Vacation
We had a wonderful time celebrating our grandson’s first birthday in Kauai. The location of the condo is superb. The view from the patio is amazing. Dolphins, turtles and those sunsets were spectacular. The layout of the condo is perfect for a family and the kitchen is well stocked and very functional. The condo is well loved and due for some updates. The patio is in need of repairs. The condo was dirty upon our arrival which was disappointing. We are looking forward to our next trip to Kauai "

"Kauai Revisited
My wife and I stayed at the Pua Poa 12 years ago and I remembered the spacious lanais and spectacular views. This time we traveled with another couple (all of us seniors). The unit provided us everything we needed. The furnishings were outdated, but everything was neat and clean. We are not overly picky, but the only complaint would be that the lanai was in need of repair. There were several cracked tiles and weeds popping up between the tiles that housekeeping could have easily taken care of to make things more visually aesthetic . However, our focus is on the ocean and relaxation, so we easily got passed those issues. Overall we had a great time there."

"Everything We Needed
The Pu'u Poa condos are the ideal location to stay on the north shore. We had the most beautiful ocean view, a pool, and a short climb down to Hideaways Beach. #305 had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy cooking at the condo and visiting the beaches. Such a well stocked condo! The lanai could use some maintenance and lighting, but you don't notice cracked tile when you are looking at the sunset. "

"Incredible condo!!
We had a awesome stay! Everything was perfect! We love this location and this place was no exception! The unit is perfectly stocked even with coolers, beach chairs, towels and snorkel gear. Views are incredible! We even had massage therapist come and do massages on the patios! This was a girls trip with my best friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend and we will most definitely be back!! "

"Nice stay
We enjoyed our stay at this unit located in Pu'u Poa condos in Princeville, even if the weather didn't always cooperate. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and grill allowed us to cook when we wanted. A closet full of beach supplies and close proximity to the public steps that lead down to Hanalei Bay were a nice touch."

"Paradise found!
This was just as pictured. Ocean view, sound of waves lulling you to sleep. All amenities needed to enjoy the island including beach chairs, ice chest, sunscreen, snorkel gear and so much more. Fully stocked kitchen if you want to prepare your own meals. A few negatives were that there was no beach access that we could locate , but no biggie, we just hopped in our car and drove to one and there are plenty of beautiful beaches to choose from. Also was bummed that I couldnt see a sunset, the mountain blocked it but I could catch a glimpse of it. The view, the amenities make up for it all and I would absolutely stay here again!"

"Instantly at Home
The moment my family walked into the condo, we felt at home. The condo felt larger than what was imagined looking at the pictures. The numerous amenities kept us comfortable during our stay. Some amenity highlights were: stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding, and washer/dryer. The two lanais were a bonus to the relaxation we experienced at the condo. The condo is very clean and well-taken care of."

What a wonderful place to spend a few days on Kauai! The view from the patio is gorgeous and the kitchen is so well appointed that any gourmet cook would find all they need to cook a delicious meal. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. Grocery stores and farmers markets close by as well as close access to the north end of the island."

The patio bbq was in good working order. The beach chairs came in handy, however, a beach umbrella would also have been useful!"

"Paradise
This wasn’t our first visit to a Princeville, so we knew we were coming to Paradise. The rental has two lanais with direct bluff/ocean views overlooking Hanalei Bay and ‘Bali Hai.’ Large sliders brought the outside into the open plan, two level living/dining/kitchen area.
We were anticipating company when we booked this space, but we wound up having more than enough space for just the two of us.
This location is fabulous. We walked 3to 5miles every day, drove to Hanalei numerous times, toured towns al over Kauai, visited an active regenerative farm, visited the lighthouse and other sights, and had cocktails and many meals on our beautiful lanai.
This unit has a fully stocked kitchen and two large bathrooms. Our only criticism would be that there is a light fixture in the guest bathroom that needs replacing, and the lack of light in that tub space would have made it very hard for people using that bathroom to bathe.
That being said, the rental company was very responsive in trying to resolve the problem, and hopefully, the next guests won’t have to deal with that.
We were rarely home during the daytime, or construction noise next door could have been an issue, but our contract had stated that this might be the case, so we were pleasantly surprised that the nose wasn’t constant.
The weather was perfect the whole time and we would come back to this property in a heartbeat."

"Incredible Puu Poa
This was our second stay in these condos and our first in #305. The private entry opens into a spacious deck off the master, so you are able to listen to the sound of the crashing surf lull you to sleep. The furnishings are comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean as is the entire unit)The Kitchen is superbly stocked with every conceivable item you need to cook at home, all the while staring out to the open sea.The second deck is off the living area, very spacious with two loungers and a table to eat at . You WON’T want t eat anywhere else!
The location is wonderful, just a short drive to Hanalei Bay village and Beach. I was prepared to say you cocudn’t ask for any more other than a few beach things, but half way through the stay, I opened a closet with anything you could want for a long day exploring the beaches, from boogie boards, to snorkeling equipment to coolers. If you want a luxurious, worry free escape in Princeville check out Rober’ts home. He was delightful to work with and the check in was seamless!

"Great ocean views!
Started out really badly. The unit had obviously not been rented out in a very long time (probably due to Covid), and was in need of repair and updating. There was no bbq as pictured, the kitchen faucet did not provide hot water, the chairs for table were broken (seats broken on 3 of the 6 chairs), tiles broken on both patios, patios not cleaned. After sending a list of these and other items, the office did provide a new bbq, replaced faucet in kitchen, and repaired bathtub. This was not our first experience with VRBO, but was certainly the worst. After the repairs were made, we did enjoy the rest of the time there. Love the views! Recommend owners do some major updating and repairs if they want to get the kind of money they are charging. I would come back to the property, but not this unit unless it was updated and repaired."

"This place has seen it's better DECADE or two!
We actually hated this place. The pictures must have been taken 20+ years ago and the condo has not aged well and has not been updated since. The ceiling fans had a two month old coating of dust on them and we wouldn't use any of the individual fans because of the dust attached to them. Both lanais had a heavy layer of mold between the window panes. The coolers and beach items were in disrepair and the hot water was virtually non-existent in the hallway shower, which was also heavily stained. The kitchen window had a paper towel wedged into the top and my husband had to jerry-rig a hanger to keep the window closed. Management was contacted and sent someone to take apart and clean the fans and I was also told that getting to the mold in between the glass partitions "is very difficult to clean". I was also told that the stains on the shower "are now indelible" and that Remax would suggest regrouting to the owner and that the Puu Poa units "have smaller hot water heater tanks".
We actually left the unit at the midpoint of our stay and found a much much nicer place to stay. Remax would not refund our money for our unused nights, which they should have because the unit had not been properly maintained. For the money spent, there are so many better places to stay (including your car). A serious disappointment."

"Hideaway dream
We stayed in the Puu Poa condos for 5nights in December during Xmas. The condo is an excellent location, excellent ocean views. Surf out the front, close to local shops, Hanelai Bay. The condo was extremely well appointed, with everything we could ever need. Very, clean, spacious and tidy. We had a minor issue with the TV however management staff responded immediately and resolved the issue. I would highly recommend 305 Puu Poa. We look forward to returning again some day. Thank you "

"Stunning View!
We decided on a "stay vacation" at Puu Poa #305 and our 10 days far exceeded our expectations for the rental was just perfect. It was conveniently located in on the property with only a few stairs up to the entrance door. The interior was immaculate and well appointed. Our kitchen had every appliance one could think of and the views of the ocean and Mt. Makana were so delightful - one views the ocean from the living/dining/bedroom and sitting out on the lanai was a special treat early in the morning. I cannot thank the management staff enough for all their assistance and professionalism. "

"Amazing Condo better than expected
We had a great experience. We were in town for a family wedding and this was a - 5-minute walk to the st. regis. Great space and very well stocked condo, plenty of room to host family happy hours and great amenities for families. We didn't need it but saw a pack'n'play and highchair. The kitchen had top quality pans and knives. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. "

"Fabulous view and comfortable condo
Comfortable condo with everything you need for your Hawaiian holiday! Walk into a well appointed condo and be overwhelmed with a breathtaking view any time of the day. Very good location for taking trails to beaches below or a quick drive to Hanalei Bay and catch a boat to explore the Napali coast. Complex also has a convenient pool and tennis courts. St Regis is an easy walk for a sunset snack or a stroll on beach.
Will definitely return and book another holiday. Condo was very comfortable, clean and was perfect. "

"Awesome stay in Princeville
This is my second trip to Kauai. The first time we stayed at St. Regis next door. While it clearly is a reputable and amazing resort, I found our stay at the condo to be above and beyond. It's very spacious and even has 2 balconies. As far as location, you can't beat it. Close to some cool beaches and only 10 minutes from downtown Hanalei. The hosts provide a clean and well equipped place. I would definitely return!"

"A Week in Paradise!
Talk about a week in paradise!!! What a Great condo! You felt like we had all the conveniences of home and then some on the beautiful island of Kauai. We loved the two lanai's, the beautiful view of the ocean and falling to sleep with the sounds of the waves. We had a few issues that were a slight inconvenience, but most were taken care of with one phone call to the management company. (1) The breaker for the living room outlets kept tripping, but it was quickly repaired. (2) There was an issue with the refrigerator. The ice machine leaked onto the floor in the kitchen, it had to be turned off to avoid the water works, but even after turning off the ice machine we had constant water on the shelves of the refrigerator and had to use caution in removing food as the water would pool on any food product. So keep your food covered to avoid added water. The problems were small, and didn't take away from the beauty of the area and the amazing condo. We will definitely be back!!!"

Our daughter, son in law, and their 8 month old son joined my husband and me for the week. The pack and play and high chair provided were a great help and we were very comfortable. The view of the ocean is heavenly off the lanai! "

"My 60th birthday in Northern Kauai...Puu Poa #305
Overall I was pleased with Puu Poa unit #305. The location is perfect to view the Northern Pacific Ocean in Kauai. The beach access was less than perfect; I did not take the trek down to hideaways beach as it rained almost constantly and I didn't want to deal with the mud and muck...not to mention the safety hazards with attempting to access the beach.
The condo itself was nice enough however, I would suggest some "blackout" window treatments in the guest bedroom as the parking lot lights can be annoying at night. The pot/pans in the kitchen were cheap and difficult to cook with. Also, the large gardening pots on the lanai were filled with water and mosquitos made more than a few attempts to feed on my blood. This is a major health issue, not to mention, a true inconvenience that could easily be avoided.
What I was more than a little dissatisfied with was the phone calls I received from Re/Max during our stay. The day after we arrived they (Re/Max) called and asked if technicians could access the unit to measure for new appliances. We allowed them to do so without question. A day or so later, I received 3 different calls again asking for access to the condo. I declined to return the calls. I felt this was a true inconvenience, as well as, a possible liability with our personal belongings. I would not recommend this condo nor would I stay here again. I will also never stay at another property that is managed by Re/Max."

Check-in/out was easy and pleasant. View from living room is great. View from master is at an angle but sound of waves is wonderful. There was some pool construction we were not told about, but it wasn't too bad. A bit of deferred maintenance on the property, but the main turn-off were that the linens were old and the comforters lack duvet covers - gross. Beach is trail is a bit of a rope-climb and the beach is small and so-so."

"Best view in princeville
This was our second trip to Kauai. The condo was wonderful, We had several family dinners there, the kitchen had everything we needed. Also beach chairs and boogie boards,umbrellas, even coolers and kids sand toys,snorkels fins and masks. Would highly recommend this location, it was very quiet,I wouldn't take small children, as the beach access was quite a challenge. We would definitely go back here."

"Heaven
THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The views, the accommodations themselves, and the location were all just perfect. Unlike some properties that manage to make a decent place look like a mansion, the pictures here don't do it justice. My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and we will plan any future visits around the availability of this home. We enjoyed the location to Hideaways beach and got our full share of snorkeling in. They provided fun beach supplies as well, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and pleanty of the basics for cooking. The only two things were weren't prepared for was the lack of air conditioning, which truly you do not need once the sun sets with the fans and windows open, and the washer was not working properly for our stay. Re/max went above and beyond to help us with that problem and took our laundry away to do it and brought it back within 12 hours. We could not have been happier about our stay and this place. "

"Beautiful ocean front condo!
We thorougly enjoyed our 6 night stay in this beautiful unit! The view was gorgeous and the place is clean and cozy. The kitchen was fully stocked with proper dishes and utensils. They even had boogie boards and snorkeling gear so that we could enjoy the gorgeous beach. We were also walking distance from the St. Regis so we had some great dinners there enjoying the sunset."

"Dissatisfied - Would Not Rent Again
The unit was not cleaned very well upon arrival. The dishes were dirty. The patio was covered with bird poop and leaves. Their were cockroaches in the unit.
All in all this unit is in need of many repairs and upgrades. I would not rent this unit again and will comment accordingly on Yelp"

"Great stay in Princeville
My wife and I stayed in this condo for 4 nights during our visit to Kauai. The condo is located in an ideal spot, with easy access to all north shore activities and adjacent resorts. Hideaways Beach is a short walk away and was very nice.
The unit was clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. The view is spectacular and is clearly the highlight of the condo. Only complaints would be a few of the dishes were a little dirty and hadn't been cleaned all that well. Also, do know having no AC can get uncomfortable. We managed but between 12-5 it gets hot. We were usually out of the unit during these times so it was okay but I might try to find a unit with AC for our next visit. The appliances also didn't work very well - some of our food spoiled the first night because the fridge couldn't keep cool. The condo could use a little updating - it's got a little bit of a 90s vibe going on . Those are just nitpicky things and overall it was a very nice stay. We might book again here in the future. "

"Priceless views
Excellent location in Princeville. Stunning views from throughout unit. It had everything we needed for beach adventure. Lovely private beach with great snorkeling just short trail hike down. Walk to beach in from of St Regis as well. Nicely decorated. Due to there being no air conditioning, it got really hot in there most days during the day, but would cool off for sleeping at night. Short stunning drive to Hanelei, where we went most nights for dinner Bc it's a lg drive to get anywhere else on island from princeville. This we were not prepared for. It forces us to spend most of our trip on north of island. However, it's also the most remote and gorgeous part of Kauai, so we knew what we were signing up for. Quiet and relaxing. Non touristy. No hustle and bustle. Paradise. "

"Honeymoon Vacation
Our experience was wonderful! The vacation was in a great location, easy to find, and get into, and you couldn't possibly beat that view! The vacation rental was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We would defienetly come back and stay again! We were able to get to the small beach town of Hanalei in minutes where we enjoyed stand up paddle boarding, restaurants and shopping. We were easily able to venture the entire island while we were there and would recommend for others. "

"Roomy condo with unobstructed ocean views and amenities
Check in process was painless, as key was located in a lockbox. Unit was in good shape, but did get hot/humid some nights. View was incredible! Well stocked with cooler, beach chairs, and other outdoor equipment. Could have used some additional kitchen amenities like a few spices, and the light burned out over the living room table. Also, one of the portable fans was inoperable. Other than that, great value and location!"

"Best view of the ocean!
Beautiful, upscale third floor condo (but with just a few stairs)fully outfitted to meet the needs of any family. My husband and I stayed here a week in early March 2015 after having stayed in the same location two years ago. We loved the beautiful view from the lanais (there are two)to the ocean below where you can see whales spouting and playing as well as folks surfing from Hideaways Beach. We loved going to sleep to the roar of the waves. We loved our morning walks on the golf course path. Only updates we noticed was that there was a new couch in the living room and a new electric grill and that the bedroom carpeting had been cleaned. One of the sliders leaked in a rainstorm, so we notified management who notified the owner. Easy to book with the rental company. Price was reasonable for the quality of the accommodation and for the location. These condos sell for well over a million dollars each."

Oh my, what a wonderful condo in Princeville! We loved every moment of our stay. The condo is well stocked with everything you need to cook (even salt, pepper, oil, red pepper flakes) or concoct frozen tropical drinks! The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the unit was quite peaceful as well and we loved falling asleep to the waves each night. The view is incredible and our favorite beach, Hideaways, is just a quick jaunt down the path (though pretty steep). I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a slice of paradise!"

"Great Location and View
This was our 2nd stay here at this unit. Both times the place was well kept and clean. Photos shown are accurate of what to expect. We like the view from the deck and being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean down below. We also like having carpets in the bedroom and living area since wearing shoes inside is discouraged. Only drawback was that the unit down below was currently being remodeled so we did hear construction noise. At least they were not there the entire day so we just went out when they were working. Would definitely stay here again."

Worst condition of any unit we've rented on Kauai in the last 16 years. Multiple maintenance and service issues. Property management company's response to our calls regarding broken and non-functional items were only addressed after multiple calls over 304 days. Unit was filthy. Floor tile and grout in front of all sinks black, lanais covered in black and green mold, front door deadbolt lock didn't, master bedroom TV didn't work, no TV in second bedroom even though one was shown on owner and Re/Max websites, master bedroom BOSE system did not work, master bath shower head plugged up with calcium an couldn't be used, broken window crank, oven light burned out, refrigerator was not cold, even at highest setting, etc. etc. etc. "

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property, particularly at this price point. Whether its the gourgeous sunsets, the amazing starry nights, quiet (almost private) beach below or the many amenities in the condo, everything was better than expected. We really enjoyed the ability to cook instead of eating out and this place literally has every gadget in the kitchen... I would also note that we found the electric grill sufficient for our needs. Very spacious living area and jacuzzi tub was a plus. We even locked ourselves out at one point but luckily there is a resident property manager. One recommendation would be to replace the front door lock and the sliding doors/screens as they have been worn over the years by the ocean salt. Working with an established realtor made the process seamless and, in my view, keeps the premises clean and up to date. "

Although I will say the property listing photos could definitely use an update, we were mostly satisfied with our stay in Puu Poa 305. The location and views are fantastic and ideal if you need to be in Princeville. The amenities were mostly as described with the exception of a coffee grinder we never found. The property was clean upon arrival, and the small interactions we had with management were fantastic. Overall we had a great trip and ended up spending a great deal of time in Hannalei as it was a quick hop away. For the price you really can't beat a stay here and we would gladly return. "

Our family of four (husband, wife, two teenage daughters) had a fabulous time on north shore of Kauai in Puu Poa #305. The unit has an amazing unobstructed view of the ocean! The unit is very comfortable, clean and spacious and is a great home base for exploring Kauai. We had a little trouble figuring out how to operate one of the ceiling fans and Angela with RE/Max helped us out immediately! The only things that might have made it even better would be better lighting in living room and master bath, and a few standard kitchen items for cooking, e.g. oil, vinegar, sugar, etc. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to come back again someday!"

You can't beat the location as this is one of the few properties "Right On" the ocean. It's limited on the amount of properties so does not feel overcrowded. Having the St. Regis right next door was also an extra bonus. We were able to access their beach and also visit their restaurants for dinner. The only small complaints were that there is a very, very small "Table Top" BBQ which doesn't even have it's own stand. We also had some issues with the old cushions on the couch and ended up covering them with a clean sheet. Other than that, the kitchen was fully stocked (Except spices)the property very clean and a great place to stay. We would recommend this to anyone and hope to be back soon!"

This unit has a great view of the Pacific and Bali Hai. The unit was well decorated and beds were very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen was handy for meals eaten in. We had a wonderful time staying at this condo as it is located in the best location of Princeville. We get to see sunset every day right in front of our balcony. The master bedroom is spacious and we can feel the ocean breeze. "Wonderful Spot in Princeville
I loved this condo. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and the closet had boogie boards and snorkels among other beach items. I gave it an overall 5 stars because it has been well maintained and the location is amazing. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars for the condition/cleanliness because when we got there it looked like the cleaning person forgot to finish putting away the towels. There were unfolded towels left on the bed which looked clean so we put them away. Also some of the white hand towels looked dirty and should be changed out with new towels. There were crumbs on the sofa, too. Unfortunately the dishwasher was out of commission but we were given a small credit which was nice. The balcony had small ants which was OK with us and I'm not sure if this happens year round - this was the first time we traveled to Hawaii in the summer. We just ignored them but we never were barefoot on the deck. Overall, however, we would stay here again because everything else was spotless. The views were breath taking and the sounds of the waves would literally sometimes be too loud that we closed the sliding doors at night so we could sleep! The condo had no A/C but that was never a problem. The fans worked well although the dining room fan should be changed since it went too slow so the air didn't circulate as well in the dining area. The climb down to the beach was tricky so keep at least one hand free. The first time down, we carried way too much stuff. The location is great for hiking the Kalalau Trail which we did on a rainy day (not recommended). The trail was super slippery and our white socks are permanently red/brown from the red clay ground (maybe how some of the white towels got dirty). This condo was perfect for our family of 4 plus my mom who joined us. It was roomy and comfortable and the views were beautiful. "

We loaded up on things to grill at costco before arrival and was disappointed that we couldn't grill but three of five steaks at a time and nothing else. Called management and never got a call back. "Loved our week in Puu Poa #305
We stayed in this unit 5/4/13-5/10/13 and could not have been happier. We had 5 adults and 1 toddler in our group and this unit was perfect for us. Loved the location on the island, the kitchen was stocked with every utensil and appliance you could think of, and everything was clean and comfortable. The ONLY downside, was that the path down to the BEAUTIFUL Hideaways Beach below the condo was a little hard to travel. It was fine for an able-bodied adult w/2 hands to hold on, but we were too nervous to carry our 16month old down it. Unfortunate since it is a beautiful beach. But, no worries, since there are so many beaches you'll want to explore anyway. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to come back someday!"

We had an awesome time at Pua Poa # 305! The view was excellent and even when it rained and we stayed in it was awesome. The rental agency was very helpful (we needed to rent baby gear and they helped to set that up - Kauai Baby Gear was great!!) and it was a smooth process. They actually had a Pack n Play at the unit, which would have been nice to know, but it ended up being nice having two. The pull out sofa was actually comfy, and we were missing linens so the housekeeper drove all the way from Lihue to bring us some sheets! So nice! Everything was clean and nice, and very livable for a family. 10 days were not enough... Need to return soon!"

Couldn't contact the rental agent to get into the unit, had to track down the property manager.
The bed linens were stained, housekeeping replaced the linens the next day. The dryer stained and put holes in our clothes. We were unable to use the washer and dryer all week. The screens were still off their tracks even though we were told they had been repaired.
The unit was very nice but lacking in maintenance. What bothered us the most is that Remax knew of these problems before we rented. "

"Whales A Breaching!!!
We had a wonderful time at Puu Poa 305. The Hideaway Beach was spectacular and the Sunset view from the lanai were beautiful. Every night we saw Humpback Whales Breaching.
The condo itself was just the right size for the three of us and the layout was very open. There were a couple of small things I feel that could be addressed: 1) purchase new linens for the master bedroom 2) purchase new towels as they looked a little worn 3) have the washer looked at as it ruined a couple of white shirts of ours 4) think about putting new lights in the kitchen it is a bit dark. The track lighting does not give quite enough light. 5)Update the sporting equipment if it will be available for guest...snorkle kit, tennis rackets..etc.
Puu Poa 305 was a wonderful home away from home and we will definitely plan another trip to North Shore Princevill, Kauai. "

This condo is over the top in location and furnishings, decoration, linens, etc. Too bad we had less than perfect weather to interfere with the perfection. Two recommendations: Need instructions for the large TV. We couldn't get it to work properly. The condo needs a decent can opener desperately.

"Puff the Magic Dragon
Kauai was the last destination of our 14 day visit to Hawaii this trip. We had spent 4 nights on Oahu at the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach followed by 5 nights on Maui at a relatively new resort on Kaanapoli Beach. Hence, the unit at PUU POA was a bit of a let down when compared to the immediately prior very high quality facilities which were actually lower priced than #305 at PUU POA.
This is our take:
The location is supurb - great views - relatively quiet - handy to grocery shopping and moderate priced, (by Hawaii standards), but excellent quality restaurants. We tried CJ's in Princeville, and the Hanalei Dolphin in nearby Hanalei. Both had good food and good service. We walked down to the St Regis Hotel - beautiful place but very expensive - we had already had several $90 - $100 per person dinners elsewhere so didn't feel the need to sample another.
The unit was a bit of a disappointment. On entering, it gave a great first impression. The setting and ocean views from the entire development are supurb. Unit 305 looked great when we first entered it. There was a great assortment of kitchen and cooking accessories, a full blown TV - DVD - Sound System with available DVD's etc. - top of the line. The lay out of the unit was also excellent.
However, the unit badly needs a bit of maintenance. For example, the door to bedroom #2 was partially off its hinges. The umbrella out on the Lanai was just a frame. The unit, especially bedroom #2 and bath #2 had an extremely musty odor, (caused by the humidity no doubt). When I tried to get some air circulation to reduce the odor, I was unable to open the window in bedroom #2 to do so. We had not experienced this musty condition any where else. Surely it can, and should be corrected. This was very unpleasant and drastically reduced our overall impression including some uncertainty about the cleanliness. "

We just returned from a three week family vacation to Hawaii in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary, wrapping up week long stays on Kauai, Maui and Oahu. We have been very fortunate to have traveled the world, but Kauai has always held a very special
place in our hearts as Lumahai Beach is where I proposed to my wife on our very first visit there back in 1984. Three children and 11 trips later (our 9th staying in a Princeville property), the Holleran's Puo Poa vacation condo has been the best accommodations
to date, by far. The property truly exceeded our expectations...very well kept, beautifully decorated (especially the artwork!), equipped with high end furnishings throughout, and very open and airy with magnificent views. Whether on a trip to the other side
of the island, or just a nearby visit to Hanalei Beach, it was always reassuring to know in the back or our minds that at the end of the day we would be returning to our truly luxurious Puo Poa accommodations. Kauai was our first stop, followed by oceanfront
property stays on Maui then Oahu...but our three kids (14, 18 & 21) all kept mentioning the whole time how much more they had enjoyed our stay on Kauai, which I'm certain was due in very large part to our wonderful accommodations. We have found our ideal Kauai
vacation rental, and look forward to staying here again on all subsequent visits. Thanks to the owners for sharing their slice of heaven with us!"

I have a Verizon wireless internet card that worked in the condo, however. So I was still able to use my laptop. Seems that the WIFI has been an issue with other travelers as well."
