"Great stay the the Luana
We were a family of six and two babies. The unit was spacious and airy. One couple did have to sleep in the open living room but didn’t mind. Having 2 and one half bathrooms helped. The free parking was very convenient. The condo is accurately photographed. James was great communicator, very friendly and helpful. A beautiful Seth for us. "

"Great space for kids
Huge space/ which is nice if you have kids! I would stay again with a few things to change. Amazing location- can walk to everything Waikiki. The staff was so helpful and nice. Great pool and exercise area too! Only issues were that the dishwasher was broken, no extra paper towels, and the toilet in master bath had an odor, and internet was poor. Only tv option was cable, no Netflix/prime/etc connectivity. All small things- again great space if you have little ones"

"A Charm Above All Others
It started with the manager's dad waving us into the correct parking lot in front of the bldg. We had circled the block twice. He greeted us and explained that his son had taken the day off to be home with his newborn. He gave us a tour of the unit. It included the owner's history, the building, and some furnishings. It came with complimentary coffee, water, and ice, already made. It's a large and comfortable place for families and groups of 6-8. It's within proximity to Waikiki and Ala Moana Shopping Center. We enjoyed our time immensely as classmates who came together for a reunion. "

"Nice Condo in Honolulu
We stayed here with children and grandchildren. The condo was big enough to comfortably accommodate our party of 6. It was spacious, clean, well maintained. The roll away beds were comfortable for my son and grandson. Check in was easy and the property manager answered my calls. Hotel
staff was helpful. Only disappointment was the lack of Wi-Fi. It did not work. It is apparently borrowed from another unit and could not be rebooted from
our condo."

This place was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 4 children (ages 2-8). The pictures are accurate. We enjoyed the pool! The kitchen was well stocked. There were lawn chairs, boogie boards and beach towels provided. The washer and dryer were very convenient. The location is downtown Waikiki, and we could walk to several of our destinations. The parking spot was a big bonus. Communication was quick, the instructions were easy to understand and when a little maintenance issue came up--it was quickly and conveniently resolved. I would highly recommend this rental!! "

M400 was a great lovely place for our family. We love the living area and the kitchen. We have little kids so the spacious living area was perfect for them to run around. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, such a great place for gathering! I love the decor of the place! We would definitely stay here again! Love that it has a rice cooker and most of the condiments because we did a lot of cooking while there. Wish they provided sugar and the dryer could be better otherwise it was perfect for our family needs. Great that it came with a parking space!"

So we booked this rental in 2021 and it was a bargain! It was JUST like the photos. The finishes were beautiful and the location is perfect! The hotel has hoola dancing and has a workout room, pool and BBQ if needed. The owners also had shower gel and beach chairs for us! That was so nice. I would come again in a heart beat! "

Our experience was so lovely; great location, incredible space, the property managers go above & beyond for whatever you need - I would absolutely come back here again. Theres a cafe downstairs that we would order from every morning, a pool with beautiful views and the beach is literally a 10 min walk. The condo also provides 4 beach chairs and towels. The valet at Luana Waikiki are so friendly as well - always so kind and accommodating."

"Nice Convient Unit
This was a nice unit that is conveniently located. Its right near restaurants, shops and is a 5 minute walk to Waikiki beach. The unit has a nice kitchen, good living space and two nice bedrooms. We had two couples in the unit and it was very spacious. they advertise up to 8 but that would be very crowded. The biggest issue is the unit has a trash chute in the kitchen which is an eyesore. It would have been convienent if it was actually working but it was broken. Overall a nice unit and the manager communicated with us very well."

"Amazing stay
What a wonderful and large condominium. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want. The bedrooms are very roomy each with its own en-suite bathroom. Loved that you had your own parking space so we could pull in and out without having to deal with a valet. The saltwater pool was empty so we basically had it to ourselves! We even got to use one of the gas grills provided at poolside. The Property manager was quick to respond when I called with a question."

We rented this property to get ready before our wedding also a ore honeymoon mini staycation after the wedding. This property was very spacious and the owners were so accommodating and nice. The property also comes with its own parking stall which was perfect���� We didn't need to deal with valet or any parking issues. The property was super nice and also clean. "Perfect, spacious spot!
We just came back from our time in Oahu and miss this place so much already! We were two families of four, both with little kids - and this place couldn't have been more perfect for us! The kids had plenty of space to run around without getting in anyone's way, and they even turned the master walk-in closet into their 'clubhouse' to keep themselves busy. The one odd thing was the swooshing sound we kept hearing from the chute in the laundry room, and the only inconvenience we experienced was that the elevator from the parking garage was inaccessible every evening. Otherwise, this place had everything we needed - and if we needed something at the last second, there were three convenience stores in the area we could run to. This place is HIGHLY recommended, and we can't wait to stay here again if we're lucky enough to do so! Thank you so much!"

"Luxury living
We already knew we loved staying at the Luana location, but this luxury suite definitely took it up a notch! A lot of living space, two beautiful spacious bedrooms and the roomy bathrooms and in-house laundry made our stay more been simply comfortable! The kitchen was well supplied with small appliances as well as good quality pans to cook with. We did have some trouble with the dishwasher, the bottom rack had a few Issues holding the heavy dishes upright but so far as getting the dishes clean it worked fine. The manager was prompt at responding to all of our needs and was very friendly throughout our stay whenever we communicated with him. I would recommend this rental to anyone travelling in groups of five or more!"

"Family Vacation
Nice location within walking distance to beach and restaurants. AC unit in living area pretty noisy but otherwise clean and met our expectations. My only recommendation to owner would be to have a binder inside condo with information about garbage, recommendations for things to see or do, how to operate ac/controls in home, wifi password, etc. Most VRBO's that I have stayed in provide this information. The kitchen had your basic staples with no additional supplies. We had to go to nearby store to purchase saran wrap, foil, paper towels and spice for cooking, coffee and filters. Dispite those things, we would definitely stay here again. "

"Stop-over after Cruise
We absolutely loved our stay at this rental property! It was ideal for our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) with the kids turning the huge wardrobe into a 3rd bedroom for themselves. The pool was nicer than expected and both pool and beach towels were provided. At the end of a busy day shopping, us adults loved the complimentary happy-hour at the hotel bar a few times a week. Great central location and parking-included made for a lovely, stress-free end to our Cruise holiday. "

This property was beautiful and very close to everything in Waikiki Beach. The unit was fully furnished and we enjoyed the unit and amenities. We had an issue with the master bathroom and the property manager was very responsive in solving the issue. Would rent unit again and would rent from Captain Cook rentals again! Have already referred a friend to stay at this unit.
Some recommendations...Have a book that details how to use the remote controls for the TVs / for the air conditioning / the washer and dryer. it took us some time but we figured it out...just a thought. "

"Lovely spacious retreat
My sisters and I enjoyed this condo very much. It was very clean. Captain cooks resorts took care if everything as promised. They were attentive without intruding. I would rent again through them for any future Hawaii trips. You can’t go wrong with this condo. The only improvement would be to soundproof old service elevator -noise travels from garage to condo. "

"Extraordinary Escape in the Heart of Waikiki
M400 at the Luana in Waikiki is the most spacious unut we have unit thus far. It truly is as big as a house! The unit is tastefully appointed and luxurious. The staff is beyond gracious and James, our property manager, is by far more helpful than I could imagine. He answered quickly if we ever had an issue. We could not be anymore happy with our whole experience. The unit was beautiful and spacious and the location is prime..... a MUST stay!"

"Top spot!
Picked this for position. Not far from Waikiki beaches and shops. Next to a lovely park. Easy access to ABC for supplies. Next to petrol station for rental car refil. Place had plenty of room for our family of 5. Lovely setting in all rooms. The only little things that we could point out to assist next tenants is : 1. A pair of tongs in the kitchen would be helpful with cooking. 2. Parking spot used by apartment management when busy so not available for us.. 3. Previous renter dropped something heavy on the tile floor it seems so left a golf ball size hole in the floor filled with small pebbles of tiles that we caught of feet on when we were bare foot. No fault of the owner just wanted to point out to get it fixed. Loved our stay and would highly recommend. ��"

"Family Stay for a first timer in Honolulu
The place was awesome! It had new (and complete) equipment and appliances and it was pretty spacious, which I hear is rare in Honolulu. This allowed us to host dinners for a couple of nights with family staying at other places. It's a great, relaxed place. Captain Cook (James) was very easy to contact and was really accommodating of us. Will definitely stay again!"

"Great, Spacious Vacation Unit!
My family had a great experience staying in this unit! We loved the high ceilings, open layout, and luxurious feel of this condo. I have an infant and 2 toddlers and this unit worked out really well for us. We put the mattresses from the rollaways on the floor for the kids to sleep on. We also had 2 strollers and storage was not a problem at all. We also loved the separate laundry room. I did wish the bedrooms were able to get darker in the daytime to help the kids with their naps, but other than that this unit is very comfortable and great getaway from home! Parking was really close and not crowded and we appreciated how easy it was to get in and out of the lot when we needed to drive somewhere. James, the property manager was very friendly too. He encouraged us to call him if we had any problems but we didn't. "

"Fabulous Condo
Unit was as described, very large bedrooms and comfortable beds.
Everything you need is in the unit.
Had a few problems while there but these were sorted quickly by James and the Captain Cook team.
Location is really great easy walk to Waikiki shops and Ala Moana Centre.
Trolley bus has 2 handy locations close by.
They have a happy hour Monday/Wednesday and Fridays which we enjoyed.
We will be back"

We had a lovely time at this property. It was spacious, very well appointed with all the amenities we could need. Plenty of towels, washcloths, beach towels, all the dishes/silverware/glasses you could need. Parking was so simple. Close to elevators. Property in close proximity to shopping, beach, restaurants. The only negative I have is there recommendation for airport pickup. My father-in law paid for this service. When they arrived no one showed up. Upon calling the service they said they had no drivers. The property is such a class act that I wouldn’t reccomend such an unprofessional pickup service. "

"Fantastic stay in Honolulu with Captain Cook Resort
It's been very pleasant experience staying in Luana M400 with Captain Cook Resort, the Condo is exactly the same as described, luxiourious and well equipped with everything in the kitchen, the bed is comfortable. James is very warm hearted! Due to the late flight, we asked for a late check out if possible, and James helped us to communicate with their reservation department and told us it’s no problem for us to stay till later that day! "

We were moved here after out original unit reserved had air conditioning issues that boiled down to needing a part not available locally. All I can say was the unit is first class, but I should also add Captain Cooke was first class to resolve or original unit problem in a manner that made it a complete non-issue. "

"The Luana M 400
Upon arrival the apartment looks just like it did in the pictures. After the first day I noticed they only supply you with 7 bath towels. It sleeps 8 we had 6. I called the property manager and he said that is all the towels they supply you with. There is a washer and dryer but be aware it can only hold about 3-4 towels at one time. You will be doing a lot of laundry. After a few more more days we noticed that the bed in the mater bedroom room was leaning my husband got on the floor and
looked under the bed and The legs were broken on the right side. We did not have the time or patience to call the management company after the towel innocent. The location is very close to the beach and shopping.

The condo was clean and well-maintained. We were disappointed in the sleeping arrangement. We thought we would have beds for eight. Instead we had two beds and two inflatable mattresses. Great Location would stay again, Lovely home and met all our needs, air mats had to be replaced for roll aways but that was taken care of with ease. The response time for any concerns was immediate and I was please with the response to my concerns. The location is ideal for any Waikiki beaches, shopping and convention center activities, walking distance to all. ?I recommend this place to people who need to feel at home and not souped up in a hotel room. "Spacious Condo
The Luana M400 is a beautiful and spacious condo. The space worked well for me and my family during our holiday stay. The location was perfect -- walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
While the condo was beautiful, my comments are about the internal workings:
Elevators: Very slow, often they were already occupied and had to wait for one that was not full. Thanks goodness the condo is on the Mezzanine level and not on the higher floors otherwise we would be waiting for a long time.
Old freight elevator in the condo: There is a non functioning freight elevator in the condo. You can hear working being done from below and dust was coming through the gap of the door. You can't see it on the pictures on the website.
TV reception (living room area): TV reception was poor, picture was fuzzy. We were restricted to a select set of channels if we wanted a clear reception. Being huge basketball fans, we were unable to watch many of our favorite teams.
Internet: Performance is very poor, often was kicked off the network or experienced delayed streaming. Was told the hotel has ownership of the network. Owners may want to consider installing their own network to improve the internet performance.
Dryer: Very convenient to have a dryer available, but it took many runs to get clothes dry.
Kitchen faucet: Appears the faucet was installed incorrectly. To turn on the faucet, you had to push it to the left versus the right.
Shower handle in back bedroom: This too was installed incorrectly. To get hot water, you placed the handle on cold and to get cold placed it on hot.
If the above items are taken care, this would be an A++++ place to go and gladly recommend it to friends!

Wonderful stay. Close to everything in Waikiki. We were two families and it fit us all comfortably. It's a hotel stay with all the amenities of home. If we had a problems, the representative was very receptive. Only trouble was the fan in the kitchen was noisy and looked unstable."
