Cape San Blas is the place to go if you want magical ambiance and sheer romance. The dunes remain in their natural state..in some places up to 30 ft. high. Walking in the wooded dunes is a real treat. It is very enjoyable to visit the State Park and hike out towards the tip of the Cape to enjoy natural wildlife along the way.

There are no bars or motels on Cape San Blas and there is no traffic--not even a traffic light! Cape San Blas is sparsely developed with plenty of open areas for meandering. If you need a restful break, this is the place!  Yes, there are convenience stores, but no tourist traps!

You can fish right out on the beach (or from your back porch!)and at the right time of the year you can catch blue crabs. It is also fun to take a boat out into the bay where the fishing and the scalloping are great! St. Joe Bay is also great for snorkeling.

Historic Apalachicola is only 20 minutes away and has some quaint shops and fantastic restaurants. Panama City Beach is about 1 hour away if you need water parks. Spend your days relaxing on the beach without the crowds, take an evening stroll, ride horseback on the beach or enjoy a glass of wine watching the fantastic sunsets over the Gulf followed by a beach bonfire--what could be finer?

Barrier Dunes is a secure, gated community with 2 fantastic pools. One is located directly on the dunes with a beautiful view of the ocean & the white sand beaches of Cape Sand Blas. Barrier Dunes also has lighted tennis courts, boat washing area, 3 fresh water fishing ponds, playground, boardwalks throughout & several pet stations!

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is located right next door to Barrier Dunes and offers excellent access to the bay as well as 7 miles of undeveloped, unpaved pristine wilderness area, bay access, & beach. The park also has a boat ramp! The clear water bay is one of the cleanest in Florida & provides excellent snorkeling, boating, fishing, crabbing & scalloping.

Don't overlook the quieter times at the beach--they are booking well in advance of last year as well! We spent some time doing just that ourselves this year and they were some of our favorite trips. We take our pets with us and not only do they enjoy it, but we save a ton of money!

Nestled up to the State Park and surrounded by water, it is the perfect place for a nature lovers explorations. Boating, restaurants and other diversions are only minutes away, yet many of our guest never leave Barrier Dunes. Play tennis, swim in the pools, sunbath on the beach while watching the ever changing scenes, fish, crab, stir up a card game or read till your hearts content. Pet lovers are overjoyed at being able to bring along Fido, especially those who like to make an extended stay with us.

We know what it is like not to have what you need when you're on vacation! We try and provide as many of these extras a possible so you are focused on your vacation, family and fun and not on the basics!
