"Great location but could have been cleaner.
The condo was really cute, but it was actually a little dirty. Upon arrival, the coffee maker was dirty and counter tops needed to be wiped down. Otherwise, it was great. It would be even better if the beds were updated with new mattresses or had bed toppers. The bathrooms are tiny, but really cute! The pool and Amenity Center is awesome! I definitely recommend checking it out before the last day( our mistake). It was a short walk to the beach, which was our primary focus for this trip. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we plan on returning. Thank you Port A Escapes!"

"Warmest Winter Stay Yet for Winter Texans
SandyFeet is a pleasant and comfirtably furnished condo unit at BeachHead Resort. Both bedrooms have king beds. The dishwasher didn't work, but as soon as management company was called, a new model was promptly delivered. A new set of cooking pans were also delivered for the unit! We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the warm sun and relaxing. We just wish there had been a bit more of the gulf to see, but flocks of marsh birds were fun to watch."

"Port A Couple Escape
My husband & I were looking for a quick get away to Port A for my husbands birthday weekend. Sandy Feet 501BH provided the perfect escape for us.
The property was clean & well maintained, the location in proximity to the ocean is great & has an awesome boardwalk for access and the condo is in one of our favorite communities which is quiet & serene, just how we like it. My favorite things about this condo were the deep & comfortable bathtub in the Master bathroom & the balcony where we sat at night to enjoy the sounds of the ocean!
My only suggestion would be that the frying pans need replaced & the noisy bathroom fan could use some maintenance but overall, this property is worth checking out. Be sure to grab some food from Fins Grill & Icehouse while you're there. The food was delicious!"

"Disappointed and Misled
Every condo has a view....not really. I would’ve needed binoculars to see the sliver of ocean. The door leading out to the tiny patio had no handle. I had to pull on the key to open the door and the patio furniture was dirty and a bit ragged. Tons of stairs. The stairs leading up to the pool were steep. I couldn’t take my special needs daughter to the pool. Appliances were outdated. Condo was much smaller than photos presented. Overall disappointing experience for the money. "

"can't use the balcony
Other than the smell of mildew and not being able to use our balcony, it was good. Everyone around us was able to use their balcony and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with ours at all. Was very disappointed that we couldn't enjoy it. If we had know we couldn't use it we would have probably booked elsewhere. "

"Nice accommodation
The rental itself was great! Very clean and spacious with comfortable beds, ceiling fans, cold AC, great water pressure. A few things to consider if you are looking to rent this property - the balcony is under construction and not available for use at the moment, there is actually no view of the ocean from this unit, if it has rained recently - bring rain boots and prepare to wade through lots of mud and standing water. We could not park in the designated parking spot because it was flooded."

"Not what I expected..
It was ok I don't think it was worth what we paid for considering we had no wifi connection, the one they gave us did not show up... we also could not use our balcony which was a bummer, it has a sign on it saying they were doing repairs or something.. that's definitely something that should have been stated befor we payed for it... They also were doing construction in the room next to us early in the morning...the only good part is that we were walking distance from the beach... I will definitely be looking for something different next year.."

This location is a perfect location on the island. The on site property manager was great, and so friendly. The pictures do not do the pool and its club house justice. Great beach access. Plenty of parking. Only reason for not 5 star was the decor and furnishing in the condo were just average and a bit outdated."

We rent at Beachead every year and this was the nicest unit we’ve stayed in. Looks like it had been recently remodeled. It felt clean other than the extra blanket in the closet had some sticky stains on it. The view was a little further back than some of the others but still enjoyable. We love the private boardwalk to the beach! The only thing missing was an extra trash bag for the main kitchen trash so you’ll want to bring an extra. We had a great time staying at Sandy Feet!"

The view from the condo wasn't quite what was shown in the ad, but the beach access was, so that's OK. The place was clean and right on the beach. The check-in instructions were a bit confusing, but we managed. The cable TV didn't work, but the company compensated us for that, so it all worked out. I would stay there again, even with the not so good view. "

"501 Beachhead
Had a great time. The pool was great, the unit was satisfactory but did not have ammedities that other units had around the area. The Tv cable was terrible. It was the fault of a poor wifi. I could not even hardly talk on my cell phone. I could hear only every other word. It was worse on the other end.
The management at Port A Escape bent over backwards to help with all our problems. The unit had not been rented for a long period of time. We found out a lot of items that needed attention.
The two chairs on the deck need repair. One has a hole in the material and the other the material is pulling away from the side of the seat. I feel someone from Port A Escape should do a walk thru the entire unit before the renters arive. I think a lot of small problems would be addressed."

On arriving to pick up our keys for another unit, we were told that the other unit was not available and we were being moved to this unit. We had stayed here before so we agreed to move. This unit did not have the great view of the ocean that the original one had and that was very disappointing. Hopefully, we will rent the beach view property at another date. We were not offered any compensation for the change."

"Family Get Away
We had a lovely time at Sandy Feet! The spacious condo was perfect for our big family. The property was clean and there were lot of extras- playground, pool, laundry room, etc. The kitchen was well stocked, but after a day at the beach we often went to the restaurants or ordered pizza. "Beachhead Condos
The check in process was very smooth, the condo location was great, the condo was clean, the coffee maker did not work, and the bathroom sink was stopped up. Maintenance did finally come out,but after we bought a coffee maker and after we fixed the sink, we were reimbursed for the coffee maker. The out side grounds and parking areas were very muddy, I would assume from the previous rain, which makes going to the car very challenging to keep you shoes clean before getting into your car. Other then the few issues with Beachhead, we would come back. We love Port A and all it has to offer. "

Condo is nice but the area is water logged and the low level makes the area a pool of mud and muck and their is a leak on the deck above so every time I go into my apartment i get soaked from the upstairs runoff. I won't be staying in these condos again.

Had a few issues checking in, not so friendly. Then got to the room and opened the door to an awful odor of mildew. Could not get rid it even after purchasing Lysol. The property itself was not in the greatest shape, worn baseboards and uneven floors. The furniture was worn and warped. Was advertised as having a “ great view”...absolutely false."

"Family Vacation 2018
Somewhat disheartening. We understand there is ongoing reconstruction due to the storms, however, properties should not be leased if there are still issues. Our condo: After purchasing groceries, we discovered the freezer did not work properly. Ice cream melted, meat would not freeze. Refrigerator was just cool, not cold. Top rack on dishwasher was broken, falling when you opened it. Wood slat missing on porch causing a large gap (maintenance did fix this). Shower heads were aimed where the water hit the back of the tub & could not be adjusted down. Spray was so light it was difficult to rinse long hair. While looking for an item dropped, we discovered so much dust under the beds & dresser it was ridiculous. Only 5 local channels on TV. Attempted to use Netflix & On Demand with limited results. It would have been nice to be able to watch TV/movie in the evenings. Laundry room was a disaster! Exposed wiring, holes in walls, FILTHY! Parking areas were never dry, even with no rain for several days. A/C pipe constantly dripped, causing water/mud to stand. "

We came in on Thursday after the flooding rains and the condo where we parked was in ankle deep water. The water remained for the entire stay. Our driver had to pull the car to dry land for us to get in. It looked like they were trying to pump the water out.

We loved our stay at Beachhead Condos. The condo had been remodeled and was nicely decorated and furnished. I would warn that this condo shows two parking spaces, but because of the angle of the road to the parking, it really only has room for one vehicle. Also, be aware that you will have someone staying above you and because there were small children involved, all we heard was running and jumping that started at 7am every day."

We chose this rental based on the various amenities available. One of the most important was Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, we onl had access about 8 hours during the entire visit - 5 days, 4 nights.
I contacted management and was told that Wi-Fi was never guaranteed and that is why they posted that on their website. I never saw that and have since looked. They also gave me a story about bad internet on the island. Not true. The problem was that they were running the internet through the office and hoping it reached the outlying areas. It didn't. It wasn't just was nonexistent. I really didn't like the dismissive attitude of the manager, Cindy, either.
To be fair, the property itself was completely acceptable, but I want what I was told I could have. I would not stay here again."

"Long term winter rental
This review is for the condo as a long term winter rental. We enjoyed our stay in this unit, but I cannot recommend without caveats. Pros: good location, good price, comfortable heating system, accurate property pictures, a small peek a boo view, nice breeze on the porch, updated kitchen and bath, plenty of linens. Cons: The furniture is tired, uncomfortable and the pots and pans limited and in very poor condition. We were advised the internet is not necessarily reliable and this is correct. There were many days without wifi. After talking to the condo office staff, this appears to involve a set up limitation and is not entirely an island issue as advised. These issues may not affect a short term stay, but are uncomfortable in a longer stay. There is noise from the air conditioner because it is on the back of the bedroom wall. "

We stayed at SANDY FEET (Beach Head Condos) from July 27th-31st. Great location, and much closer to the beach this year, compared to the beach house we rented further down the island last year. The condo and property were clean and well kept. Perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids. The staff at Port-A Escapes was very helpful, as well as the staff at Beach Head. No seaweed in the ocean this year- the kids loved that! Clean beaches. Could easily stay another week there. Close to town (grocery stores, dining locations, gift shops, etc.) We'll be back!"

I paid $350 per night for 2 nights after the Service Charge, Cleaning Fee and Taxes were added onto the price I was quoted. Had it cost $250 per night my ratings would be higher, and I would recommend it - it's an older property without a great beach view, the kitchen was not well equipped and the unit was fairly small - for $350 per night, you'd expect 1st Class, right? Not a great value. "

Our four night stay was enjoyable, once we got a few things corrected. When we checked in we found no glasses in the cabinets and the refrigerator light was not working. We called and this was corrected. The next morning we found there were only 3 teaspoons in the silverware drawer. Since there were only two of us and there were a number of tablespoons, we made do with what was there.
I feel that the unit was not properly inventoried prior to our arrival."

"Vacation at Sandy Feet 501BH - August, 2014
My husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters just returned from Port Aransas. We LOVED the location of Sandy Beach. We just walked over the boardwalk everyday. Loved the fact that we didn't have to drive to the beach. Overall, the condo was fine. It was clean and convenient. There wasn't enough eating and cooking utensils, and with the exception of two plastic margarita glasses and one plastic glass, there weren't sufficient glasses. We just used our plastic solo cups. I'm not usually a complainer, so if that was the only problem, I wouldn't have mentioned it. The biggest complaint would be the sofa sleeper. It had practically NO mattress or soft covering for the springs. It was our plan for the grand girls to sleep there and hoped it wouldn't be a problem for them. It was. They said they'd as soon sleep on the floor. We saved the sleeping arrangements when we found a fantastic supply of pillows in the closet. We lined the mattress with the comforter that was on the king bed and lined it with the pillows. Then we put the fitted sheet over that. We were able to make the bed suitable with that. I'm glad we didn't have two more adults for that bed because that wouldn't have worked, probably. Also, the sink in the bathroom where the king bed was located had a very slow drain. We did report these problems to the rental company when we were leaving, and they indicated they would tell the owners about the couch. The first day we were there, we found that a couple of light bulbs were out so I reported that to the rental company. They finally had the maintenance people come out the last day we were there to replace them. Would I stay at the Beach House Condos again? Yes I would because I did like the location a LOT. However, I would probably ask for a different condo rather than Sandy Feet unless I could be assured that at least the couch had been replaced."

The pictures don't do this place justice!! I have to admit my expectations were low since we were booking so late in the season and it was only for two nights,
so we were all pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to Samdy Feet and it was as nice as it was!! It was extremely clean and the color choices on the walls and decor through out were exactly what I would want a beach condo to be!! The beach was just a quick walk over the dunes on the boardwalk and the pool and playground were just right.the location was super centrally located and right up the street from Coffee Waves which has amazing coffee and breakfast sandwhiches. Loved this place and will definitely book it again!! Check in and out was a breeze and hopefully someday in the future when we have our own condo we will definitely be looking into Port A Escapes as our rental management company. ??"

I could see the water was from a corner of the bed inside and very end of the balcony outside--not at all from living area--vert disappointing. If I return I will have a specific number of condo in my request.

We've stayed at the Beachhead condominiums for our last two fishing trips in Port A, and every time, we've enjoyed our stay. You can't beat the location from the beach -- and, having a fully stocked condo to cook in and watch movies in the downtime is helpful. It's also minutes away from just about any restaurant you'd like to bring your catch. The beds were comfortable, and while the bathrooms were a bit small, they work fine for a long weekend trip... even with 4-6 people in the same condo."

Had a wonderful time. Only draw back was cockroach in bathroom. Certainly didn't want to transport these back to fort worth,so I went to the expense of having my home in fort worth sprayed very next day. "Blue washrags" must be used for make up removal---they only give you one. Patrick at the property mgt. company is awesome! "

"Beach Resort
The rooms were very clean and the location was good. The only problem was that it was advertised to sleep six. Two of the sleeping arrangements would need to be for very friendly married people."

"privacy place
The staff at port escapes were all very professional , Patrick and his wife were especially helpful. Patrick helped us locate better property at the last minute and was very helpful with important info . Kudos to Patrick and the employes of port escapes . I wish I could have brought my 5lb. Shitzu and I wish I wouldn't have had to sit in traffic for 45min ,but Patrick rocks !

The property was great, the only issue we had was with the edging on the counter was peeling off, and the fold-out couch's front legs were broken so that the end dipped, but otherwise the condo was great and I would recommend it."

this vacation had a great chance to be wrecked but Port A Escapes (Brenda) and the property manager @ Beach Head went above and beyond make it great. Thank you both. Be aware they dont have linnen service during your stay. Not sure if thats typical these days but it was a suprise. 501 is a great unit."

Our vacation at Port A was great. We stayed at Sandy Feet 501 and it was very clean everything we needed was there. It was close to the beach had a pool and play area for our grandchildren. We would stay here again. The check in was fast and easy. We throughly enjoyed it.

"Fictitious View
The view of the beach (gulf) was non-existent. We were told it had a great view. We have stayed at BH approx 8 times, and this is the first time we didn't enjoy the view. This past Spring Break we stayed at Sand Castle, a more pleasing view; it's all about the view. We usually visit Port A 3 times a year."

"Everything was fantastic except...
We had a fantastic time. The only issue I had was the deco in the condo. We had an 8 year old and a 4 year old and I was not too happy with the statue of the African woman with the huge naked breasts that was on display on the bar. I understand that the theme of the living room seemed to be African based and that nudity is natural, it was just something we did not want to expose them too just yet. She (the statue) spent her time on the refrigerator facing the wall. This will not keep me from coming back though. I love this facility."

the unit's view was a big disapointment since i specifically asked for a good view
other than that we were very happy with the unit/well stocked and pleasantly decorated
i thought the extra fees were too high and i wouldn't use your service again because of that

"Satisfied. Good value. Great location.
The condo was very nice, but there was a bit of a musty smell that never really went away. I don't know if that is normal for beach front property of its age. There was a wall panel that gave access to some plumbing on the floor. The water pipes moaned a bit in the evenings. But the location was perfect, the place was very clean, and the unit was well outfitted. I would stay here again."
